Accessing WebAssign

  • Ensure you have a Cengage account and WebAssign course registration before beginning.
  • Log in via your learning management system (LMS) like Blackboard, Canvas, or directly at cengage.com if LMS links aren’t provided.
  • Your WebAssign homepage shows assignments, due dates, and grades.

Navigating the Platform

  • Use "My Assignments" to view all current and past assignments along with grades.
  • "My Class Insights" highlights topics needing improvement and provides extra practice resources.
  • The resources tab contains additional materials like PowerPoint slides or videos, if uploaded by your professor.
  • Grades and messages from your professor are accessible from the homepage.

Using the E-Textbook

  • Access your e-textbook from the top menu or bottom of the homepage.
  • Use the MindTap Reader’s features: search, media index, text-to-speech, font customization, bookmarking, and printing.
  • Highlight text, add notes, and create flashcards while studying; all edits are saved for future reference.

Completing Assignments

  • Assignment instructions and due dates appear at the top; extensions can be requested if enabled by your professor.
  • Use "Read It," "Watch It," and "Master It" tools for help with specific questions.
  • The "Ask Your Teacher" button lets you message your instructor with assignment-specific questions.
  • After answering, use "Submit Assignment" or "Save" to work later.

Monitoring Progress and Staying Organized

  • Access your gradebook from the main screen to see overall and per-assignment grades.
  • Grades may also sync with your LMS gradebook.
  • Enable email reminders for upcoming assignments using the envelope icon.
