Projectile Motion and Kinetics
Introduction
- Today's lecture will cover all the concepts of Projectile Motion.
- We will discuss several previous years' questions and tricks/mental methods.
Lecture Format
- Pause the lecture video and solve questions.
- Download the practice sheet from the app after the lecture finishes.
- If you do not understand the questions from the practice sheet, watch the video solutions the next day.
- How to increase marks in Kinetics:
- Lecture + Practice Sheet => High chance of scoring 150+ to 160+ marks.
Main Points of Kinetics:
Ground-to-Ground Projectile
- 3 types of motion:
- Horizontal
- Vertical
- Combined (both)
Mathematical Expression
Practical Application:
- Calculating Time of Flight:
- Formula: $T = \frac{2U \sin\theta}{g}$
- Calculating Range:
- Formula: $R = \frac{U^2 \sin{2\theta}}{g}$
- Calculating Maximum Height:
- Formula: $H = \frac{U^2 \sin^2{\theta}}{2g}$
- Additionally, many tips and tricks will be provided during practice.
Advanced Concepts
- When a projectile is launched from a height, the following points still apply:
- 3 components of motion:
- $\Delta y = \frac{1}{2}gt^2$
- $\Delta x = U_xt$
- Use of kinematic equations independently for each component.
Previous Year's Questions and Other Practices:
- Mainly covers questions from Net's practice sheets and emphasizes projectile motion.
- Some difficult questions
