okay actually this is pretty cool because this is actually episode 50 oh great great anniversary yeah so if you don't make this good the pressure's real real I think this is pretty dope it's episode 50 um it's awesome I don't know I think it was like episode six or something that Jonathan was like just like on it every time after that yeah uh I think we'll be consistent I don't know by episode like 55 or something like that then it'll be like consist L every single weekend episodes come out it's pretty dope yeah but great before we get started I know you probably were just asked this question yes so how's your new house and everything it's going man it's going it's it's it's a lot of different things um specifically for me I'm a city guy MH so um I was always in a renters mentality um my parents always rented when we were kids and uh it's just a lot of Apartments a lot of um you know complexes and stuff like that so uh if there was things that you needed done you would just talk to the manager and they would get it done uh uh now I'm the manager so my wife's calling me about everything and uh YouTube has been my friend I tell you that so things uh I've gotten another bachelor's through YouTube on how to fix a toilet how to fix the plumbing how to fix all this kind of stuff so uh and there'll come times where I'll have to call a professional in and get all that stuff so it's taught me humility because um sometimes I don't know how to fix everything so it just kind of tells me you got to call somebody else throwing in the white tail yeah exactly yeah so I want to be like this guy like well I'm I I'm so uh I have all these skills and I I can do all of these different things uh but in reality it comes down to I need to call some help sometimes so um but it's been a it's been a journey man it's been such a great adventure um it's a lot of new things of course and uh we're super excited the baby's coming in August so that's that's huge man has it hit you yet or no not yet no and the reason being someone told me this which was so awesome because they told me the uh the baby is real obviously to the mother because she'll she'll feel her move it's a it's going to be a girl so um I'm going to be using that uh throughout the entirety of this uh discussion so um but she'll feel her move and stuff like that uh but for me I just like you know it hasn't really settled in yet uh and it's not until that moment in that hospital room where you know she gives birth and I'll be able to hold my baby that'll it'll become real to me you think you'll faint no I'm hoping not yeah I hope I hope not man that's that's kind of what's been going on so uh a lot of new changes a lot of new changes but we're we're super excited we're ecstatic yeah so well I don't think there's anything really new in my life going yeah yeah yeah will you guys graduated oh yeah yeah I graduated awesome you got one more year got it okay so babies either oh no babies good good thing are you staying are you sticking around or what what's the future hold for you I usually do it like one like I don't know in my eyes I never set like a fiveyear plan or anything but I do like one year to uh one step at a time and for now like I agreed to a year to help with uh Josh with a29 awesome so awesome we'll see what happens after that year no idea great man that's awesome oh we're glad that you're sticking around for at least a year it's fun yeah that's going to be great man we'll see what happens it's going to be a good summer Jesus name yes that's awesome and then you got one year left yeah so I'm going to finish out that one year then go back to my home Church great so so that's awesome excited yeah that's great man that's exciting have you ever been in Pasadena uh you know what in passing I don't think I've ever been or actually stayed there I probably passed through there I've been to West coina is that the same thing it's it's like 30 minutes from there yeah but I've been to West Cina where uh what is that where brother Johnson's church is that's Kina that's the church I go it's Kina where yeah there I was there like a couple uh o man no no it was last year it was last year August someone told me you preach for the Youth and hyphen was it something like that or no no no I think it was for the church for the church oh for the church it was a Sunday morning I think yeah I believe yeah it was a Sunday morning where were you here yeah yeah so it was excited it was a good great church it's awesome to see my former teacher become a pastor and it was just amazing the transformation you know what I mean because you know I love brother Micah he's an amazing man of God oh yeah um but uh as a teacher he was very um what's the right word here I don't want to um offend him but he was very closed you know he was uh very diffident he was very um bashful you know what I mean like he wasn't very outgoing and when I saw him at the church I was like who is this man you know he's interacting with the people he's talking to people and stuff like that I was like man you know God works in mysterious ways you were probably at the old building you know what no no it was the new bu I think it was the new building last year yeah I think it was their new building I'm pretty sure with the stained glass cross in hanging in the middle yes okay that was a new one I yeah yeah yeah and so and they were doing a lot of remodeling yeah yeah at that time they were doing a lot of remodeling but like they told me the miracle that it was cuz they weren't you guys doing Services outside yeah we were under our tent yeah at one point yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and we got kicked out from there had to go and ran from a different church and then it was a God thing then we bought an actual building which was another church and now wow remodeling doing all that good stuff that's so awesome man that's so awesome and it's it looks like it's a pretty good space Oh yeah so um that's amazing that is amazing well now that we've all caught up yeah you you can you can take your Liberty cool man uh let's start in Isaiah 51 man I'm telling you this is probably I've been longing for this moment um yeah go ahead you're good um just because this is something that's been brought up in my studies mhm and I'm like man I'm dying to share this but I don't think I can share this in a service so I was like um well we'll gladly take that yeah yeah I was like I'm I'm hoping uh Chris will invite me back so um yeah so this is kind of a bit of a concept study and uh I want to initiate it in Isaiah 519 um so quickly Isaiah 519 probably should cut off these okay all right Isa Isaiah 519 now this is a question that I get asked frequently well not asked frequently but myself as well I've inquired of the identity of this uh creature that's found in Isaiah 51:9 uh that says uh this is obviously Isaiah uh pleading with the Lord saying awake awake put on strength oh arm of the Lord awake as in the ancient days in the generations of old art thou not it that had cut Rahab and wounded the drag Dragon verse 10 art thou not it which hath dried the Sea and the Waters of the great deep that hath made the depths of the sea away for the ransom to pass over now just in the just looking at it at surface value um this verse contains a lot of um mysterious Concepts right um the the writer Isaiah is using a lot of um I would say more of a Arcane terminology uh very mysterious um just very enigmatic some of it can be very ambiguous as well and so uh understanding the context of what Isaiah is trying to uh illustrate here through these through these uh very complex terminologies uh we realize that Isaiah is asking for the Lord to demonstrate his strength again as he did previously in the history of Israel so the the way that we can identify who Rahab is because that's my first question my my first question is who is Rahab um my mind goes to the The Prostitute from Jericho her name was Rahab but clearly Isaiah is not referring to a prostitute from Jericho uh he is referring to a a creature that is known in ancient civilization or in ancient literature uh that was very prevalent in the times uh of Isaiah but not only Isaiah but it was um it was a specific creature that was known uh in the ancient near East a lot of Mythology a lot of Canaanite literature uh make reference to this very creature so what is Isaiah uh referring to what event is he trying to inis what event is he trying to uh conjure up in this specific uh text verse 10 gives us the context are thou not it which had dried the sea what major event can we um can we revert to or or or can we remember that uh the sea was dried up well it was the Red Sea Crossing it was when Israel was coming out of the Exodus or it was coming out of e Egypt in The Exodus and God positioned them perfectly at the Red Sea and he dried up the Red Sea split the Red Sea and allowed the people of God to walk on dry ground so uh Isaiah is referring to this Red Sea crossing the Waters of the great deep that hath made the depths of the sea a away for the ransom to pass over that's that's that's a clear reference there to uh the Red Sea story to the occurrence of the Red Sea so my question is Rahab and the Red Sea what's the connection well Rahab is mentioned in uh in this specific context it's mentioned six times in the King James uh the six times it's referenced two of those times it's in reference to Egypt uh which this was a um I would say a literary device or it was a well-known um literary Motif uh for writers to correlate um tyrannical nations with creatures or beasts right uh we see it in Isaiah the writings of Isaiah we see it in Jeremiah we see it in multiple uh prophetic writings and literature that they connect certain uh Nations and their their rule or their uh imperialism they connected to certain beasts like a lion Daniel sees it in his in his dream of the Lion of the bear of the leopard right and so this is not foreign to us uh if you have studied biblical literature it's not foreign for a writer to use a beast or an animal to reference a nation or to be as a as a symbolic representation of a Nation so this can be talking about Egypt Rahab here can be in reference to Egypt um so the two times that it makes a reference Rahab as a reference for Egypt is Psalms 874 um which we probably going to have to cut out these times that we're sifting through the Bible so um probably do a lot of cut cutting and shorting and stuff like that so uh Psalms 87 you know when it says ransom for that part you were talking about R you said ransomed right yeah yeah M mine says redeemed interesting I know I was going to say interesting is yours King James no not this one that one is we'll still on you later I'm just kidding 874 uh Isaiah 874 says I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me beh behold philistia Tyrie and Ethiopia this man was born here okay so the re to so so the name Rahab is in reference to Egypt uh it's a it's a specific identity for Egypt uh Isaiah 30 and7 um is another reference to Egypt uh let me get it here I got it written down here Isaiah 30 and7 now this is a different version is the ESV oh interesting yeah how the tables have turned uh Egypt's help is worthless and empty therefore I have called her Ray Raab who sits still so in two places in the Bible Rahab is used as an identity as a name uh or as a replacement or substitute for the nation of Egypt uh but for other times it's not mentioned in reference to Egypt Egypt but it's in it's made in reference to a mythical Beast I wanted to emphasize mythical Beast because it's going to get it's going to get pretty profound job 9:13 job 913 now um sometimes the King James will not make reference to the term Rahab it will substitute it for for Pride or for another specific word but in the original Hebrew it does have that uh that identity of Rahab so job 913 I'm going to read it in the ESV says God will not turn back his anger beneath him bowed the helpers of Rahab so if you look at at the King James version n uh 13 it'll it says if God will not withdraw his anger the proud helpers the proud helpers do stoop under him so uh the King James version uh translates that word into proud well rather in the original it's actually the term Rahab so uh job 26 and and 12 this is another interesting portion of scripture uh job 26 and2 says it this way um he says by his power he stealed the sea and by his understanding he shattered Rahab he shattered Rahab again we see this this identity of Rahab of course it's not talking about Egypt it's talking about something else what is that other thing that the Book of Job is referencing and has identified as Rahab Psalms 89 And1 uh this is another portion that this term is not used for Egypt but it's used for something else to reference something else uh Psalms 89 and10 says Thou Hast broken Rahab in pieces as one that is slain thou has scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm so Rahab again here not in reference to Egypt it's in reference to something else so going back to Isaiah 51 and9 we're making a full circle here Isaiah 51 [Music] and9 uh he talks about awake awake so you know it's implying that God supposedly is asleep awake awake put on strength uh God has allowed his strength and and his Dominion to be dormant in the lives of the Israelites and so Isaiah is telling the Lord awake awake put on strength o arm of the Lord awake as in the ancient days in the generations of old are thou not that ha cut Rahab and wounded the dragon so there's the correlation of Rahab and a wounded Dragon interesting Rahab and a wounded Dragon well Rahab in ancient literature can also be is is also a creature uh that has another name by Leviathan so Leviathan and Rahab are in reference to the same same creature it's two different names but it's the same creature what what is this creature this creature was a sea monster um that was very prevalent in ancient literature it was a sea monster that was a personification of chaos it was a personification of chaos why well the sea was an incontrollable untameable body of water especially for for that day and age right it was unpredictable it was incalculable uh it was immeasurable the sea to an ancient to a to an individual in the ancient near East was something that cannot be tamed cannot be controlled and cannot be measured and so they because of of these uncertainties and because of this lack of control that they could not exercise over the ocean they personified the ocean as chaotic or as chaos or as disorder and they further on personified it as a sea monster whose name is Rahab Leviathan so this is something it's a motif that is used all throughout ancient literature it's used in Mesopotamian literature it's used in Canaanite literature and it's even used in Egyptian literature so one thing that's very important is the uh cos uh the cosmogeny the cosmogeny is the origin of the cosmos so it's the it's the creation story every religion every religion spe specifically ancient religion has their own re rendition of how the earth started you look at Egyptian mythology you look at uh Greek mythology you look at uh Roman mythology you look at uh Mesopotamian mythology every specific religion had its own rendition or version of how the earth started the Inception the Genesis uh every one of those stories introduces a chaos Monster H every one of those right the name differs according to religion but every specific um every specific religion ancient and Antiquity I would say uh they had a chaos Monster they had a serpent of sorts that uh navigated the Seas and it was uncontrollable it was untameable uh it was unpredictable so mythology says that this is how creation was started that there were gods that were that were inserted into the scene and in order to fight in order to I would say assert dominance over one another the battle was uh whoever fought against the serpent or the chaos Monster and defeated it was worthy of becoming the God of all other gods so for example Canaanite mythology who is the Canaanite god or the Supreme deity Baal right we see it in scripture Baal is the Supreme deity of the Canaanites how did he become the Supreme deity how did he assume his position above the pan the pantheon of Canaanite Gods well according to mythology Baal had defeated A God Called yam which was the god of the sea he was a sea creature he was a a creature that personified chaos in the sea and so mythology said Canaanite mythology said and this is again it's a motif it's a recurring theme uh within ancient uh literature or ancient mythology uh specifically in ancient near East whoever defeated the ocean that person was worthy of controlling the universe H whoever defeated the sea monster of the ocean Leviathan Rahab yam according to Canaanite literature and according to Canaanite mythology whoever defeated the ocean was worthy of becoming the god of the universe and so Baal according to Legend he defeated yam which was the chaos Monster and he now is worthy and assumes his position as the god of the universe uh Babylonian literature which is Mesopotamian mythology their main God was mardic that was the Supreme deity in the pantheon of Mesopotamian deities the way that he assumes the position of being the God above all other gods is that he also defeats a creature that dwelt in the Seas called um uh I'm going to butcher this name but the name of that is called uh Tiamat taat something like that uh but it was a sea creature that represented chaos it represented disorder and so mardic according to their Legend he defeated that monster severed it dismembered it and with one half he created the heavens and the other half he created the Earth so there's this Motif or this Trope in in ancient civilization we can see it through mythology that whoever controlled the ocean that God was worthy of controlling the universe that is the theme we can detect through studying mythology now this tells us a little bit more especially it tells us a lot more about the cultural background of the people that resided in that day and age uh a lot of it had to do with and this is this is very interesting because mythology is predicated on this religion Pagan religion is predicated on this it's predicated on the concept of anthropomorphism anthropomorphism is the attributing of human characteristics to anatom and objects let's say I would I would attribute the characteristics of strength or the characteristics of stability to that bench right and I would say that bench is a God because it symbolizes stability and it symbolizes strength so mythology was predicated on anthropomorphism which was the attributing of human characteristics to inanimate objects that's why you have the God of Thunder Zeus the god of thunder right so Thunder is an anatom object or it's something that has no life but they attribute human characteristics to that Thunder and cause it to become a god MH right the god of fertility the god of harvest the god of rain um the god of uh the sun right all of these inanimate objects they're attributing human characteristics and creating them as gods which tells me that uh mythology is predicated on two uh important emotions of the human body number one pleasure and number one fear so ancient civilization would make a god of the things they wanted and of the things they feared the most so if you look at if you study mythology the majority of the things that are described as Gods fall under these two categories what do people want the most and what do they fear the most pleasure and fear that sum that summarizes mythology so if they wanted fertility they would uh concoct a god of fertility and worship it because that's what they wanted if they wanted sexual pleasure they concocted a God that represented sexual pleasure and they would worship it because that's what they wanted if they feared Thunder if they feared a storm if they feared um the sun if they feared things that they could not understand they could not calculate they could not predict they would personify it as a God and worship it in a way of reverence so that's that's how you summarize mythology mythology is just man worshiping what it fears and what it what it loves the two greatest Sensations the two greatest emotions that can control a person's belief and a person's Dogma is what you fear and what you find pleasure in and this is what ancient civilization people what the what the individuals that were found in ancient civil civilizations This Is How They established this mythology right so this tells me if they made a god of the sea that represented chaos or disorder that means that the sea was something that they feared greatly it was a phobia because it was unpredictable it was incalculable it was immeasurable and so I I if this is a recurring theme right let's let's personify everything that we love and let's worship it let's personify everything that we hate and let's Revere it let's respect it because we don't want to be killed by those things so they see the ocean as something that they fear the most and they personify it as a chaos Monster and they elevate it to such a degree that if any God can conquer this they're worthy of being the supreme god over every other God right how do you um how do you identify dominance right like you you can study that within even animals well they fight the biggest guy right right that's how you identify dominance is whoever defeats the biggest chimp whoever defeats the biggest animal so that is that is a specific thing that is that is found intrinsically within man that if anybody can defeat the ocean this person is worthy of being the supreme god because that is the thing we fear the most so the fear of the ocean or the sea is called thesa theophobia theophobia that's a phobia against the ocean against the water against fear fear of of of the Seas so this phobia was prevalent in the ancient near East we see portions of scripture where uh you know I believe one of them is in Ezekiel that talks about one dying by way of drowning and how fearful and terrifying that would be right if you would die on land let's say if you would die in war at least you can be prepared for it if you died by way of an animal at least you knew it was coming but if you died in the ocean it was almost unpredictable you didn't know because the ocean was had like a mind of its own you you could not predict when the waves were going to come when uh the storm was going to issue into the into the into the boat when when the clouds were going to surface you you couldn't predict that so to BU to die by way of drowning was the worst death that you can possibly experience for somebody in the ancient near East so there's this phobia of the ocean we're scared of the ocean and because we're terrified of the ocean we're personifying it as this powerful mythical creature this sea monster Rahab Leviathan and authors of the Old Testament they they employ or they adopt this liter this uh fictitious mythical monster to better illustrate or describe God's power I always ask myself I said why why would you use these terms like Rahab or Leviathan they're mythical cre they don't exist right we understand now you know thank God for Innovation thank God for technology that we understand now that there's not this huge snake in the middle of the ocean that's causing chaos or disorder I thought you were about to present that to us like this no no definitely not no no no definitely not it's all it's what is it it's anthrop anthropomorphism it's it's attributing human characteristics to inanimate objects so uh Isaiah is not also telling us that there's this mythical creature he's using literary devices that are used by the foreign Nations surrounding them to better demonstrate and better accentuate God's power over the things that man considers as chaotic example number one and and this is very interesting because now understanding this we now know why Moses wrote in Genesis 1 verse 2 right verse one says in the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth verse number two and the Earth was without void you got it with you right without form and void without form and void and Darkness Darkness was a upon the face of the deep and the spirit of the Lord moved upon the waters right so it's talking about disorder void without form that's disorder and in the disor disorder that's found where in the water the spirit of the Lord moves effortlessly so who's the writer of Genesis Moses Moses is a person that is well educated in Egyptian mythology he he grew up in the king's court in Pharaoh's Court in Pharaoh's household of course he was well educated in Egyptian mythology so he knows about this ideology that the sea represents chaos and the Sea represents disorder and the ocean is the most terrifying thing known to someone in the ancient near East and so he writes under inspiration right by the spirit of the Lord he writes the Earth was without form and void Darkness was upon the face upon the the what's the what's the term there the face of the deep Darkness was upon the face of the deep right this all P this all is illustrating chaos and disorder this all is illustrating Rahab Leviathan what people fear the most and he says and the Earth was without was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters which means the spirit of God moves effortlessly un hindered upon the very thing man considers as chaotic and disordered that is a very powerful statement and that accentuates the power of the spirit of God that it is not hindered by what man sees as unpredictable wow and untameable this is the thing we fear the most and Moses starts off Genesis by saying the spirit of God moves upon it h interesting the very first verse right the the the Egyptians accredited creation to the god at tomb so by Moses writing in the very first verse God created the heavens and the Earth he is denouncing his Egyptian education wow not many people know that or they don't realize that that we understand that Moses wrote Genesis yeah so to start off his writing he says let me denounce what I've learned since I was a child since I was a child it was instilled in me that the god of Tomb had created the heavens and the Earth so with my first verse in this of course he did not know that it was going to be a Bible but this Bible let me establish a statement that will denounce my Egyptian education and my Egyptian raising in the beginning God yah way created the Heaven and the Earth W he denounces his Egyptian raising and his Egyptian upbringing with just one verse by accrediting creation of the heavens and the Earth to Yahweh and therefore he says the the Earth was without form and void Darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the water powerful it's very powerful the spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the water if you look at it at a vessel no matter how innovating or how um I would say no matter how uh Advanced we we we become with technology vessels at the end of the day man-made vessels are will still succumb to the waves of the ocean there's there's not not going to be a single vessel that is able to Traverse through the ocean effortlessly and not succumb to the waves of the ocean so even the things that man makes will still acquiesce to the waves of the ocean to the temperature to the weather of the ocean no no boat is going to be able to effortlessly Traverse through the ocean in a time of a tempest in a time of a of a storm you know the the the boat is gonna you know go to and fro move as the waves push it but here Moses describes as the spirit of God is moving without any interruptions he's moving upon the faces of the deep he's moving upon the waters and there's no interruption there's no disruption it's moving it's moving so that's a first that's Moses uh establishing uh um at the very beginning he is establishing God's power over the ocean he is establishing God's power over the seas what's the second the Red Sea Crossing when Israel crosses the Red Sea and God splits the Red Sea in half allowing Israel to walk on dry ground it was God demonstrating his superiority over what man deemed as chaotic and unpredictable why did this need to happen did you know that the Israelites could have taken another route of course it it's if you study the map they could have taken another route quicker route even faster route to get to Canaan but the reason why God makes a pit stop at the Red Sea is because of rahab's now now I'm talking about the prostitute it's it's because of rahab's response to the two spies that come as they're surveying the land the first thing she mentions to the two Israelite spies is we heard what your god did at the Red Sea wow we heard what you got not the plagues not not the killing of the firstborn not the frogs not the lice not the darkness no the first thing she said was this city is terrified of you guys because we heard what your god did did at the Red Sea wow and our mythology teaches us if any God controls the sea that God is worthy to be the god of the universe so God uses the mythology of the Canaanites to instill fear into them before Israel even gets there and that's why he stops at the Red Sea and he says give me a second Israel I need to demonstrate that I have power over the seas because the ancient mythology says whoever whoever controls the sea is worthy to control the universe so let me be a demonstration let me demonstrate to the entire universe to the entire world that I have control over the seas so before you get to Canaan they're going to fear you because you're my people so God does a pit stop at the Red Sea not only to show the Israelites his power but so that that testimony can could be propagated and could be promulgated all throughout the ancient near East for every ancient civilization to hear what God had done at the Red Sea and every other ancient civilization would know because of their mythology they would know if that God controlled the Seas that God is worthy to control the universe sorry real quick that would be I guess an Old Testament example with the New Testament example being the gospels when the disciples were in the ship and the winds and waves came up and they said who is this that even yes in wo Bay so that man right just in that it's a Oneness text it's a Oneness concept because the Galilean the seamen the galileans the the the sailors right uh Peter all of these guys they had in their minds this concept the seas are incontrollable the Seas the waves the wind nobody can control the wind nobody can control the Seas whoever can control this is worthy to to control the entire universe and so when Jesus comes and say and says peace be still he is exerting or he is demonstrating his power over the things man deems as wow unpredictable it's all clicking you me powerful it's powerful powerful it goes It goes beyond that so this is interesting because it happens right with the Red Sea but it also happens at the at the at the Crossing of the Jordan River because at the Crossing of the Jordan River right especially during that time that was a season with where the Jordan River would overflow according to scripture and so what happened was that the water subsided and they dried up allowing the people to to cross on dry ground in a season where the waters were it was accustom for the waters to overflow and so if you look at it I I think the verse is um uh Joshua 51 J Joshua 51 the Bible says this and it came to pass when all the kings of the amorites which were on the side of the Jordan Westward and all the kings of the Canaanites which were by the Sea heard that the Lord had dried up the Waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel until were passed over that their heart melted neither was their spirit in them anymore because of the children of Israel so again we see God using water to instill fear into his enemies he he is once again utilizing his superiority and his dominion over over water wanting to impart fear into his enemies so before the Israelites even got to the gates of these nations they were already afraid because they knew whoever controls the water whoever controls the ocean that is the god worthy to control the universe the state stage is being set the stage is being mythology has tricked their own people into thinking whoever controls the ocean is worthy to control the universe and here comes God Red Sea Jordan River let me show these Canaanite people that I am the god that is worthy to control the universe let me dry up the Red Sea let me dry up the River Jordan and these two accounts they instill so much fear in the Canaanite people because they know in reality Baal is not the one that controls the Seas Baal is not the one that defeated the sea monster Yahweh was the one and so that's why Isaiah says or other other uh scripture says you cut Leviathan or cut Rahab into pieces what is that referencing the splitting of the Red Sea cutting Rahab and Leviathan into pieces right the these are are authors of the Old Testament using these ancient um Notions or ideologies to better exemplify the power of God let's use a mythical creature that scares everybody to death and use it in our scripture to demonstrate that God has power over this mythical creature with which which is just the personification of the ocean and that's how these nations will know that Yahweh is the is the one that has the universe in his hands I have a question go ahead so here it says what you were talking about was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces so in this verse in this context Rahab is the sea yeah obviously okay so it's the mythical creature that was comprised by the by ancient civilization Leviathan yam um uh tayot um all of these these creatures they're all in the sea it's the same creature right it's all in the sea for example um Diana right and Artemis Artemis is the Greek god that was found in Ephesus Diana was the Roman god same God different name so Rahab Leviathan yam all of these terms they're the same God just different names it's the personification for example if you what do you fear the most spiders spiders right spiders you know Hollywood does this too man you know Hollywood personifies people's greatest fears it make them into Superheroes Spider-Man right oh right so all all of these yeah yeah mic drop all all of these things you know it's just it and I'm going to get in trouble for this but Marvel and Hollywood is just the morphed version of Mythology it's people attributing these human characteristics to inanimate objects Iron Man right all of these different termin so what do you what do people fear the most spiders well let's create a Superman or a superhero sorry that that can resemble a spider yeah and let's give him power so think about it you're afraid of spiders you if you were in the ancient near East you would probably make a god of spiders right I've seen that in in in in India you know they have God God of snakes they have God of spiders they have God of rats they have rat temples in India right so the thing that they fear that's what they're going to worship so looking at it to Wards the sea they see the sea how in how uncontrollable it is how immeasurable it is and they're they'll say okay it's a god so let's personify it let's give it human attributes and let's call it Leviathan so Leviathan is the sea it's it's the god of the sea it's the god that creates chaos right you look at an ocean the ocean in itself looks chaotic waves come in here they not they're not congruent some waves are big some waves are small right you look at it in the time of a storm you're from Florida so you're kind of used to that kind of stuff so you you can just see the chaos that happens in the ocean hurricanes the chaos that happens in the ocean look at it through the lens of an ancient NE Eastern individual we look at it now we say it's a hurricane it's the weather but to them they didn't have the technology we have today so they saw that and they said the God is angry the God is upset Leviathan is is triggered right so this this is this is what I'm trying to establish here that's what mythology is all about that's man it's summarized summarized in that one phrase It's anthropomorphism it's the attributing of human characteristics to an animate objects and so this was instilled within the mentality of the Canaanites the Babylonians of the Mesopotamians of the Egyptians do you know that the Egyptians the way that they predicted the end of the world was that the god a tomb which they accredited for the creation he was going to release the floodgates and the ocean was going to Prevail over the Earth and completely wipe it away according to the Book of the Dead that's how the Egyptians depicted the end of the world if I told you to make your own religion right and I told you what's the best way for you to cogently or I would say persuasively uh get people to join your religion fear fear not only fear but you would probably illustrate an apocalyptic end that would be so fearful people would say I would want to participate in your religion to escape from that apocalypse right M so you would choose the most fearful thing you can choose as the end to to persuasively or to persuade people to join your religion so that they can succumb to the stipulations the statutes the mandates whatever it is that you're instilling as law according to your religion you you would you would paint this picture of this apocalyptic cat catac mic event that's going to happen towards the end and you would tell people you need to join my religion because if you join my religion you'll escape this apocalyptic end for the Egyptians the most fearful thing they can think of is the waters prevailing over the Earth and so that's why according to the Egyptian mythology the way the world was going to end was by the flood gates all of this ties down to the flood of Genesis because all the nations stem from the sons of Noah ham jafeth and and and Shem right the the the term Semite we we we uh we know the term anti-semitic well the term Semite is a derivative from the name uh Shem so semites are just all those that derive from the lineage of Shem ham was the father of the Canaanites some uh Scholars also beli that he was the father of the egyp ipans so all of these nations of the ancient near East they stemmed from the people that just were saved from a flood right so it's instilled into them water bad for real right water bad and that produces the the backdrop to the construction of the Tower of Babel many people think well it's it was a way to get to heaven I I will I would theorize that it was a way to get high enough where the flood wouldn't reach them because they're afraid that if God destroyed the World by flood he would do it again so this is instilled the fear of water just imagine being in a boat for 40 days and hearing people screaming for Agony people probably knocking on the wood of the Ark that would instill a fear for the waters that are surrounding this vessel so these individuals grew up with this fear or this phobia for water and all of a sudden it bleeds into the mythologies of all of the sons that preceded the sons of Noah so every mythology every mythology uh possesses this chaos creature and it and it possesses also this cow's com which is is it's just a myth of a god battling a sea creature right the Egyptians the Mesopotamians the Canaanites every single one of them depicts in their story in their Legends they depict a god defeating a sea creature a sea monster a sea serpent and that's how they assume authority over every other God and so the writers use that and say God defeated Leviathan but we know it's not a creature that he defeated it's just him demonstrating his superiority over the seas over the ocean it's not like there was a serpent in the middle of the Red Sea and God came down and got a sword and just slid it in half no that's the personification of the mythology of the a of the ancient near East so here Isaiah is is describing this he's describing he's like God you defeated this mythical cre you know sea creature that all of the Nations they acclaimed to all of the Nations they they recognize this sea creature you defeated it by splitting the Red Seas You defeated it by drying up the Jordan and allowing your people to pass and that that occurrence produced so much fear in the amorites in the Canaanites and all of these people because they see there's a God that controls the ocean and our religion says whichever God controls the ocean controls the universe bleeding into the New Testament Jesus stops the storm exerting his authority over the seas over the oceans that's why his disciples say who is this man who is this man that can control the Seas that can control the oceans but not only that not only can he control the ocean or the Seas from a boat but he can also walk on the ocean wow and he can also walk on the Seas and not only can he walk on the Seas but he can invite you to walk on the Seas as well it brings the whole concept of out of the boat to a whole new level no for real right because we think well Peter just walked on water no no no Peter walked on the thing that people feared the most wow that there was mythologies that surrounded this fear of the ocean and here Jesus is saying come and Peter understanding this in his mind understanding maybe not to a full extent mythology and all of the beliefs of the neighboring Nations but to to some degree understanding the unpredictability and the the the uh the untame just not being able to be tamed and and not being able to be predicted the nature the tumultuous nature of the Seas understanding all of this he decides to step out of the boat because he sees Jesus exerting dominion over the seas over the thing man fears the most and here's Jesus asking Peter to walk on the thing he fears the most that's crazy and he steps out of the boat and he walks on the water tell me that's not a sign of dominion tell me that's not the phrase is walk all over your enemies you heard of the phrase yeah walk over your enemies that's a sign of dominion so Jesus doesn't only show his dominion over the seas over the wind over the ocean Over the Sea of Galilee by stopping by by halting the storm he exerts his Dominion by walking on it and not only does he exert his Dominion by walking on it he also exerts his Dominion by giving someone else the ability to walk on it as well it's the power of God over the seas in Genesis his spirit moves without being interrupted in Exodus he splits the Red Sea in judges he dries up the River Jordan in Matthew he calms the storm in in the gospels he walks on the ocean walks on the sea and he invites Peter to come out of the boat and to walk and take dominion over the things that Humanity fears the most that that brings that story into a new just man just understanding the cultural background of all of this right mythology man the M the mindset of man mythology is a little bit of an Insight on the mentality of man how man thinks we fear the ocean we can't control the ocean we can't predict the ocean we can't possibly we we try to stay away from the ocean the ocean represents chaos and disorder and here's God every every single time proving his superiority over the thing man fears the most so that one step from Peter means so much understanding the fact that Humanity was wired or calibrated to fear the ocean at all costs to fear the Sease at all costs to fear this mythical sea creature and Jesus says you don't need to fear it I have dominion over these Seas I have dominion over these oceans and I will allow you to walk on it as well so that's I would say how does how is that applicable to us today well first off the Red Sea God allows us to Traverse through our fears just imagine man a people going through the middle of a sea seeing one wave to your right hand side and seeing another wave to your left and at any moment that wave can crash and kill you tell me that's not a fearful moment people just think well they sang along as they went down the the Red Sea I think that's why Miriam sang when she got out cuz she realized man we could have perished in that we we've got to die we've been taught to fear the Ocean and here's God bringing us through it that's the first I think that's the first interaction between God and someone who's fearful of something God will God will kind of just grab your hand and say let's go through it I I want you to go on dry ground right your feet aren't wet but you'll you'll see the thing you fear the most to your right and to your left but I want you to know that I'm with you let's let's Traverse through this together okay that's the first step second step is I'm able to calm the thing you fear the most Jesus in the boat right the disciples are there they're about to they think they're about to perish they think everything is over Jesus gets up and exerts dominion over the seas over the winds over the waves and it stops then it goes a step further then he asks Peter to step out of the boat and now walk on the thing he fears the most so the first interaction is God will lead you through the things you fear the most second interaction is God will demonstrate authority over the things you fear the most by calming the things you fear the most third interaction is God will give you Dominion to walk on the things you fear the most I tell you there's a lot of things I feared but now by the power of God I'm able to walk on those things I'm able to walk on those things there were things at the beginning I said God you think you think the Israelites were capable God could have allowed it you think the Israelites were mentally capable of walking on the Red Sea of course not so he had to make a way he split the Red Sea he's not going to start off by saying hey all right guys let's let's let's walk on the ocean let's walk on the things you fear the most whoa God let's start take it easy now no no no he'll say okay I want you to walk and see everything you fear around you wow it's this is scary you don't remember when you first did this podcast this is scary this is Uncharted Territory I've never been here before it fear is all around me you ever been in that place I've been in that place fear is all around me right you're walking with God but you're fearful fear is all around you and then you're with Jesus and and fear feels like it's coming into the boat and it's drowning the boat and it's drowning the boat you're like God where are you God I I'm fear is overflooding my life and God calms the fear but he takes it a step further and he says it's not enough for you to walk and have fear all over all over you and it's not enough for you to uh for me to calm fear in your life but now it's time for you to walk on it that's what's powerful and that's where God wants I believe the people of God to get to to a place where they walk on fear they walk all over fear and I'm not saying you don't have any fear what whatever but the fear of being rejected the fear of being isolated the fear of being misunderstood the fear all of these all of these fears are keeping people from exercising the power that God has given them that's why the bi that's why the Bible says he has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power of love and of a sound mind that's why he says it's not a spirit of bondage again to fear but a spirit of adoption by which we C by ABA father so he's contrasting the spirit of God that moves through the chaotic things in comparison to the spirit of fear that says well I don't want to touch it I don't want to go there I don't want to do those things and the spirit of God says I have authority over the things you fear the most I have dominion over the things you you uh uh you presume as chaotic as disorderly as out of God's control and God says I have control over those things and let me show you that I have control over these things I'm going to allow you to pass through it and it's not going to hurt you I'm going to allow you to pass right by it and it's not going to hurt you it's not going to flood it's not going to drown you it's not going to hinder you it's I'm going to allow you to pass right by it and I'm going tell you how I can stop your fears from overflooding your life and then I'm going to allow you to pass through a moment where it feels like fear is flooding your life but I come right in the exact moment and stop it and show you that I have control over the things you fear the most but then let's take it a step further I want you to now walk I want you to walk on that uh low self-esteem I want you to walk on that disbelief I want you to walk on that fear of rejection I want you to walk on that diffidence or that bashfulness that you have I want you to walk on that because when you walk on those things you're going to be able to exercise the power that God wants you to exercise and that inner child of God that's dying to break loose in the gifts of the Spirit and intercession and preaching in the prophetic it'll be loosed when the chain of fear is broken in one's life Wow immediately cuz fear is bondage right fear is bondage and so if Israel would have allowed Their Fear to overcome them they would have gone back to being slaves to the Egyptians because many of them would have said well we're not going through that ocean we're not going through those Red Seas and why do you think the Red Sea is a is a type of baptism why do you think God chose water to be the very thing that we would need to do in order to be baptized in Jesus name that's wild it's like you're being immersed in it but as as quickly as you're being immersed you're also being brought out and that's I think that's a mirror of fear you can easily be brought into it but God can just as easily bring you out of it the fear once once we realize that man I'm telling you once the people of God realize that God God can God is able to give you the power to walk on the things you fear the most we will operate in the identity the true identity that the Holy Ghost is wanting to give us in this generation in this generation everything alludes to it man baptism alludes to it God's power over the over the seas God's power over water God's power over over the ocean everything alludes to it and and at the end of the day it's all it all it's all summarized into this everything you think is out of God's control is actually in God's control everything that you don't think God is is able to have power over God actually has power over so you think of everything that you fear and that's keeping you from doing God's will just know the god that you serve is greater than the fear than the thing that you're afraid of right the god that you serve is greater than the thing that you fear whatever it is that you're afraid of whatever it is that's keeping you enslaved that's keeping you paralyzed God wants you to walk over it God wants you to walk over doubt God wants you to walk over trauma God wants you to walk over abuse God it it's so powerful because we got so many Christians man so many people that they're not willing to walk over these things they're easily easily they easily succumb to these things they're easily influenced by these things and as long as you live under the things that you fear the most you will never be who God wants you to be God always wants you to live on top of it over it walk on it walk on the water walk on the water because it's not by your power or your ability but it's by God's power and God's ability and God's dominion and God's Authority that you're going to be able to walk over the things you fear the most I I'm praying man that this generation I don't know what your sea is I don't know what your ocean is I don't know what it is but I tell you right now God walks over it and God wants to give you the power for you to walk over it as well whatever it is whatever it may be abuse trauma you know low self-esteem insecurity right rejection whatever it is that's keeping you from operating in the identity that God wants you to operate God wants you to walk over it so that one step of of of Peter he defies human mythology he defies human reasoning and thinking by just taking one step out of the boat and onto the water I feel like you got a question yeah I was waiting for you to finish how would someone like out there listening yield to this process cuz even being exposed to the fear is already hard enough to yield to so how can someone yield to that first step of being exposed to yeah I think I think um I think a lot of it has to do first of all with Allowing God to walk you through fear by fear I mean that you trust God that he is leading you as you see everything that you fear around you for example I'm going to give this example for me I always had a fear of rejection or I had a fear of yeah I would say a fear of rejection I think all of it takes roote in that so a fear of rejection there was one time I was in a service somebody was preaching I was a I was a freshman and it was about an hour and a half from here and that person was preaching and the Holy Ghost began to move so powerfully and I I was a freshman I was coming in I Didn't Know Much you know I didn't know how to preach I didn't know how to you know I was just getting back to being right with God right and so coming in the Holy Ghost is moving and the Lord spoke to me and he told me look to your right and I look to my right and I see this woman she has a red dress probably in her mid 20s and her her face her her her forehead is on is rested on the back of the Pew in front of her so she's kind of like you know leaned down bowed down and and I could I could tell she was very concerned I can tell she was very anxious and I was like okay you know what's up with her you know and the Lord spoke to me and said tell her that a year from now she's going to have a baby and I'm like oh first off number one I don't know if this woman's even married right and I don't think God would want [Music] me to tell an unmarried woman and she's having a baby in a year right so that's number one number two I was like what if she's Barren what if she's Barren number three what if she doesn't want to have a baby all of these questions man just started flooding my mind it's the ocean coming back into the scene mhm right it's the ocean coming back into the scene and all of these questions boom boom boom boom boom boom boom started just flooding my mind and interesting enough in that moment God didn't give me an answer to any of those questions and I battled with God time and time and time again time and time I struggled with God man it felt like an eternity but it was like five minutes and I struggled with the Lord and I didn't do it I come back a year later to that same church and not even kidding that sister was put pushing a stroller W down the aisle and I told somebody I said did that did she always have a baby what's the story behind that they told me she's said she was Barren they were she was married what I'm I'm assuming she still is but at that at that moment she was married they had been trying to have a baby for six years wow she could not have a baby and a year from that moment miraculously God opened her womb and she got a baby what is that that is okay I'm learning right by trial and error I'm learning but that's me traversing through the path that God has designated for me to Traverse through with fear surrounding me right that's me understanding now okay God I feared it but I know that you have control over it so the next time I interact with it I'm going to trust you more because I just realized that that word was actually from God and I just realized that there was no possible way for me to predict that that woman was going to have a baby right so I knew for a fact that was God so that that was me it it was my Red Sea moment it was my Red Sea moment and and I I had I I had many many of those it was my Red Sea moment now you know six years later no that's more than that probably seven eight years later the thoughts that used to paralyze me from operating in that way I now walk over and I'm not saying that proud proudful I'm saying by the grace and mercy of God God has given me that authority to now walk over the thoughts that once walked over me it's funny that you you're saying all this cuz I feel like we were literally just talking about this last night or the night before something like that mhm for years just like random thoughts with like I'll look at a person in a church service or something or like about a friend and I feel something random like that I'm like okay that completely I just made that up in my mind or I'm just like using like context clues to kind of make something my mind like I would always like not do anything yeah but there is sometimes re especially I would say within the last few years especially lately but I started like kind of like acting on it like cuz I was I was afraid of being rejected I'm like I'm going to go over there like you're crazy yeah yeah and um it was uh just I guess a recent example some friend that I had thought about I was just praying about them out of nowhere it was like random and the word came to me like you're going to have um a church building someday or something like that because they've been in the same church building for like several years it's always been like Lee I'm like you will have a building like or something within I don't know was something very weird and random and I felt so weird saying it to my friend and I I texted him and said hey it was out of the blue too was like you're going to blank BL BL BL blank yeah and he was like huh yeah and and that response was like great like okay maybe that was just in my mind or whatever he called me later and he's like we just signed papers yesterday for a piece of Lanta or something like that I'm like my goodness no you think you would have acted on that maybe three four years ago no if that thought would have came into your mind you think you would have acted on it m- yeah you see the progress MH and it'll continue right it'll continue I tell you this it'll get it'll get even scarier great yeah it'll get even scarier where there's going to be times and by scarier I mean the time for you to act the window is going to shorten it's going to be quick right there's times now I don't got 5 10 15 minutes to argue with God to see if it's right or not right it's either now or no mhm right A friend of mine told me this and this man so powerful and it it again it adds to this Motif it adds to this story uh he told me he said before Moses was able to split the Red Seas before God can trust Moses to split the Red Seas God needs to trust him with unlatching his sandal it is the small acts of obedience that lead you to doing great things for God and he said God could not trust Moses with the Red Sea if he did not first trust him with the small acts of obedience prior to the Red Sea you see it water and Moses are kind of interchange interchangeable he's put in a in a basket put on the Nile preserved in the water other babies are dying he's floating in that same Nile comes the daughter of the Pharaoh picks him up rescues him his name means drawn out of the water right if anybody should develop a sense of fear for water it should be Moses right cuz he should have died in the Nile right that was his fate he should have died in the Nile but he was rescued from the water now mind you his very first public uh Miracle or demonstration in the eyes of the Egyptian world was when he came back to the same Nile and turned the blood into turned the water into blood realize this this is so powerful because this is the same Nile that he should have died in this is the same Nile that should have drowned him and God brings him back and says when you come back I'm going to show you you're not the same helpless infant I'm going to show you the man of God that I've created and that I that I have formed in the mount in Mount Si in the wilderness I'm going to show you now that you're not the same person that you used to be when I first brought you out of these Waters and so Moses's first miracle is at the place where he should have died his first Miracles at the place where fear should have taken over his life and that and it progresses because not only has he not only does he have authority over the Nile God brings him to a bigger body of water and now he sees the Red Sea this isn't the Nile Jesus or God sorry this isn't the Nile I'm used to the Nile I'm used to this body of water but now you've taken me to a bigger that's the progression of overcoming fear it comes from you being rescued from it it comes from you returning to it and realizing you're not the same person right and it comes to God bringing you to a bigger place and saying this this isn't denial this is much bigger than the Nile but I'm going to show you the same God that turned the water into blood is the same God that'll allow a path to be created in the Red Sea water and Moses man it's incredible it's incredible the thing that should have taken over his life God gives him authority over it right the thing that could that bro I'm I'm just going to be completely honest completely honest there were uh vices and weaknesses and addictions in my life that should have taken me out like that it should have taken me out I should have been drowned in it I've seen friends drown in it and now they're not here wow I've seen friends also in the same river and while God was preserving me for some reason they were drowning to the bottom of the Nile and God saw it fit to rescue me from those fears to rescue me from those addictions to rescue me and now I look at young people that are facing the same things I used to face and it's the resemblance of the Nile I see I go into I I I go preach to young people man and I see the same struggles I used to deal with and it's it's my Moses moment where I come back to the same Nile I should have died in and I see the same Nile that's overflooding their lives and the same addictions that's overcoming them and the same weaknesses that is prevailing over their lives and I I see the reflection and now I see where I'm at and now I see what God is doing in my life and now God has given me dominion over the things that once had dominion over me so it's the progression it's the progression it's the progression from the Nile to the Red Sea right you'll see it when you start ministering to people you'll see your past in them you'll see your past in them you'll look at them and you'll see this person is addicted to pornography like I was addicted to pornography this person is addicted to marijuana like I was addicted to this person is an alcoholic like I was an alcoholic you see the resemblance you see the mirror image on the Nile on the Nile water I'm not the same guy I'm not the same helpless infant that was once here about to drown about to die about to be overflooded by these Waters I'm not the same guy now I have authority over these things and I can turn this thing into blood I can go to the Red Sea and I can raise my staff and make a way where there seems to be no way it's god-given dominion and authority over the things that we fear the most it's an hour and 30 minutes I I I don't have any questions because I'm just mind blown yeah well it's powerful man you know just just that that very that very concept of Moses and water the affinity between Moses and water the fears right just you know the Bible doesn't talk about that human uh interaction necessarily it doesn't talk about the human emotional in Impact or influence that some of these occurrences had on people but if you put yourself in that in their shoes you can feel the emotions that they must have had in those specific occurrences to such a degree that when that when Pharaoh's daughter sees Moses she recognizes him by his Cry he's crying he's in a he's a Hebrew he's a Jewish baby he's crying right so how many times man how many times you can realize that you know we we we've developed fears in our lives that God has rescued us from but now God wants us to go back I tell that to every person I tell that to every person you need to not escape from your fears but you need to face them face them and when you face them you'll realize where you've come from and how far you've gone along and how far God has brought you so interesting understanding the concept of water now exactly I've never never ever saw it that way yeah yeah yeah so like if you ever asked yourself well what's Leviathan like who's Leviathan you you know I had that question in Bible College and my professor who I'm not going to name they he told me he said um wait until Systematic Theology I was a freshman year by the Systematic Theology you take at that time you took uh your senior year by the time senior year came along I had forgotten the question I wasn't even thinking on class I wasn't even thinking on the I just wanted to get out so I think he purposely did that you know to prolong the question but that was always I was very inquisitive about it who is leviathan and then the Lord started taking me through all of this and it's just a personification of fear wow it's just a personification of fear and and God throughout scripture demonstrates his power over the thing we fear the most and he even personalizes it because he says now I want you to walk on it now I want you to walk on it yeah so this was honestly one of my favorites because to me it spoke to me personally at this specific season to me cuz for me it's like during like if God wants to me a gifting it's like I'm fearful to like walk in it or if I walk past a soul and God tells me to speak to them and I move with compassion it's like I let that fear get to me right but I know that right now I'm walking through that Red Sea like I'm faced with that fear and just the whole time I'm just like evaluating everything right now and I'm just mind blown if you keep walking in that path yeah you'll get to the moment where Jesus would tell you to walk on it get out of the boat and walk on the thing you fear the most and I tell you once those moments come you feel you're going to start feeling those thoughts it's going to be become reactionary you're not it's become a reflex you're not even going to think about it and God will tell you names of people going down the street he's done that to me I'm telling you man I've had multiple occasions where I'll walk down the street again this is not to give me any credit whatsoever but it's just to show how far I've progressed right throughout throughout the time since that first moment at that church 7 eight years ago God has has allowed me to prophesy over three individuals about babies and I've literally like set it in front of people which is something I would never have done but you look at the the transformation that a man that would be so fearful to say it to a woman in private or in a in a private setting that he would step behind a Pulpit and ously proclaimed that an individual was gonna have a baby you can't faake that man you know it's not it's not a like generic prophecy someone's going to get healed tonight who's that someone you know what I mean yeah someone's got a a headache man it gets me irritated sometimes that's another episode but it's like man you know it's so generic you're you're trying not to be specific so you don't get called out I know but something as specific as this you cannot you come back the next year and this person doesn't have a baby it's over yeah and so how do you get from that how do you get from that you need to be able to walk with God through the fear through the things that you fear the most and still trust that he's leading you by his hand and then he will lead you to that moment where he says I'm not walking hand toand with you now I'm on this side and if you want to be with me you're going to have to walk on the thing you fear the most to get to where I'm at that's the most powerful thing I literally this spoke also like literally directly to my season yeah as and so many people man they want to rather live they would they would rather sorry they would rather live away from God by not stepping on their fears then to actually step on their fears and go where God wants them to go there's there's always going to be a moment in somebody's life where God is going to be a place where you need to overcome fear in order to get to him right because you can never live with God in a place where fear still overcomes your life there comes a place where there's a separation between Peter on the boat and Jesus on the water and if you want to be with him you're going to have to walk on the thing you fear the most yeah that was crazy he'll walk with you in the Red Sea right he'll walk with you in the boat it's crazy you look at that right he's with the people of Israel in the Red Sea he's with the people he's with the disciples on the boat but now there's the Gap the distance between Peter and Jesus and Jesus says if you want to be where I'm at I'm not going to walk I'm not going to take you by the hand anymore I'm not going to be in the boat with you anymore if you want to overcome this fear you need to take the first step and step out on the waters and walk on the thing you fear the most so you can be where I'm at yeah wow thank you for having me no problem thank you for having me I don't know how you pulled that out of no honestly I'm I don't either I don't can have 1% of your thought process no man I'm telling you this is all if you would have asked me this years ago I you know again it's just the progression it's it's what happens when you walk with God and you just allow him to walk you allow him to to walk you through the things that you you fear the most the things that you would say I never will do I'll never do that I'll never go there I'll never you know it's like okay I'm leading you right now in the season of your life so that when you do get to the point well I I'm leading you in the season that you're in right now so you will get to the point where the things you said you were never going to do you're going to start doing it regularly wow that's that's Dominion that's Authority I'll never preach me and now I'm preaching every week you know what I mean again no glory to me all glory to God but it's like I I said that very same statement man I will never preach I will never touch a mic I will never never never never never and all of a sudden man here comes God and says I want you to walk over that fear and now I walk over that fear every single single Sunday
