1. Get Started

  • Introduction to using GMG ColorProof for digital proofs.

2. Before You Install

  • Check system requirements and ensure a valid license.
  • Unplug measuring devices to ensure proper driver installation.
  • Log in with admin rights.
  • Ensure no background Microsoft updates.

3. First Time Installation

  • Methods: Web-based, DVD, ZIP archive.
  • Ensure hardware acceleration is set to max.
  • ICC profiles supported: ICCv2 and ICCv4.

Installation Steps

  1. Copy and extract files if from ZIP archive.
  2. Run Setup file.
  3. Select additional features.
  4. Consider offline calibration file installation.
  5. Complete installation.

4. License Dongle

  • Connect the dongle before starting the program.
  • Disconnect only after shutdown.

5. Starting GMG ColorProof

  1. Connect dongle.
  2. Launch via desktop icon or Start Menu.
  3. Program initializes and is ready to use.

6. Program Overview

  • Program window divisions: Program menu, Main menu, Main view, Toolbar, Detail view, Print overview.

7. Printer Setup

  1. Select Output and New Printer.
  2. Choose Printer and set Print Medium.
  3. Add Calibration Set.
  4. Select proof standards and save.
  5. Enter IP if printer not auto-recognized.

8. Printer Calibration

  • Depends on internal or external measuring device.

Internal Device Calibration

  1. Select printer and calibration set.
  2. Right-click AutoCali-Wizard.
  3. Complete process.

External Device Calibration

  1. Select printer and calibration set.
  2. Connect measuring device.
  3. Use CaliWizard.
  4. Follow calibration assistant.

9. Manual and Automated Proof Jobs

  • Options to create manual or automated proof jobs.

10. Proof Printing

  1. Select Jobs and New Job.
  2. Choose files and proof standard.
  3. Print.

11. The Automated Proof Job

  • Requires hotfolder setup.

12. Hotfolder

  1. Create via Workflows.
  2. Name and set path and type for hotfolder.

13. Workflow

  1. Follow prompts to create workflow.
  2. Link to hotfolder.

14. Changing Media

  1. Add new medium to database.
  2. Adjust medium settings for printer.

15. Where Can I View and Update My Licenses?

  • Manage licenses via USB dongle.
  • Trial limitations.
  • Automatic update with Software Update Contract.
  • Manual update process described.
