So, hello and welcome to our session. My name is Claudine Knacknack. I'm a senior admissions evaluator for today's TAG workshop. Um, I'm joined by my colleague Erin Rooney who will be helping me out in the Q&A section. This is the agenda for today's workshop. We'll be going over UC transfer admission requirements and then how the UC transfer admission guarantee comes in. We will be going through a lot of requirements, layers, and deadlines to the transfer process. So, please utilize the Q&A along the way. This presentation will be recorded and will also include resources on how to have further conversations with the representative if you need further followup. Before we dive into the transfer admission guarantee, let's make sure we have a full understanding of transfer admission requirements. Whether you're applying for TAG or not, every applicant needs to meet these requirements for UC transfer. A transfer applicant is a student who has enrolled in the fall, winter, or spring terms at a college or university after high school graduation. And so, while we welcome transfer students from institutions around the world, we do give priority consideration to California Community College aka CCC students applying for admission to UC as juniors. We also have articulation agreements with these schools. So that's why we give priority to these students. No matter which UC you are applying to, all UC's will be reviewing your application to ensure you're meeting transfer requirements. So they are as follows on the screen there. First, there is a unit requirement. You will need to complete 60 semester or 90 quarter units of transferable coursework. This makes you come into the UC as a junior level transfer. And so, this also comes out to about 2 years of full-time study, but it can be less if you have dual enrollment college credit or API A level exam scores. There's also the seven course pattern. These are all GE courses and I'll get into that more later. And major prep requirements, aka prerequisites. UC's will review your courses to verify you're meeting the seven course pattern. The setup of seven courses is made up of two transferable composition courses, also known as the UCE. one transferable course in math aka UCM and four other courses um from the three different areas as shown there on the slide. So, arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences. So to complete the seven course pattern, these courses need to be at least three semester or four to five quarter units each and you need to earn a grade of C or better in each course. Remember, in order to meet the overall 60 semester or 90 quarter unit transfer requirement, you'll need to do more than these seven courses. The rest of your courses can come from GE courses or from courses that prepare you from your major or both. All UC majors have some level of major preparation the departments are looking for. However, some will have required major prep. the prerequisites, meaning that there are courses required for admission to these majors. At UCSC, we refer to these as screening majors, majors that require specific coursework and GPA to be completed prior to admission to our campus. With our non-screening majors, there is not required coursework that needs to be completed at the time of admissions. So, these are all the majors at UC Santa Cruz that require specific coursework because they are screening majors. And this is about 60% of the majors that we have on campus. And when we talk about TAG, you want to note that the computer science major at our campus is not available for UC TAG applications. You can apply for the computer science major using the general UC application but not for TAG. And this is a list of our non-screening majors. So, how will you know what coursework at your community college is going to transfer to the UC? You will need to use a website called assist.org, or which shows equivalent courses at your CCC for a major prep as well as coursework that will count toward the seven course pattern and overall units. So these are some screenshots of assist.org and there are two main search engines you can utilize. So on the screen there it's that middle column and the and the column on the right. So to check major requirements, you want to use the column in the middle. You want to plug in the community college that you're in right now and the UC campus you want to apply to. So in this example, we have a student going to Sacramento City College currently and you want to transfer to UC Santa Cruz. And once you click view agreements, it will give you the screen. You select your major, which in this example is psychology. and you'll be able to see the required major prep and the courses you'll need. So, you'll see that you see Santa Cruz equivalent courses are on the left and SAK City College courses are on the right. Assist will show you a list of the required courses, grade, and GPA requirements and what the equivalents of the community colleges are. Um, if anything says new course articulated, that means the community college does not have an equivalent course. And if it's required for your major prep, you will need to find another community college that offers the equivalent in the second search engine. So, back to the main page of assist.org. We're now looking at the column on the right here. You can attend your commu. You can enter your community college to see what coursework is UC transferable including the seven course pattern. So once you click view transfer transferability list, it will bring you to this page. Um you'll see seven course pattern codes on the right hand side. So we can see that there are a lot of math courses at Sacramento City College that fulfill the math requirement of the seven course pattern. Now that we've covered the UC transfer admission requirements, let's talk about the TAG program. So TAG is an acronym. It stands for transfer admission guarantee and it's a guarantee of admission to a participating campus and major as long as the deadlines and requirements are met. TAG is based on general transfer requirements but with specific course and completion and deadline requirements per campus. So currently there are only six campuses that participate in the TAG program and that's shown on the screen there on the right. And to be eligible for TAG the requirements are there on the screen. So the first is transfer from a CCC. The second thing, complete over half of your units at your California Community College. And the third, your CCC must be the last school of attendance before you transfer. Students with some nonCCC coursework are still eligible for TAG if they meet the above requirements. Additionally, if um if you're an international student with an F1 or J1 visa, you can also participate if you meet eligibility requirements. And while TAG is a popular form of admission to a UC campus, it is not required for transfer admission. If a student wants to apply for TAG, they must submit the TAG via the transfer admission planner, aka known as the TAP, the TAP, in the month of September, which is now before you submit a UC application in October or November. Bear in mind that applicants can only submit one tag to one campus. However, it is non-binding. So, you can still submit uh a general UC application to any of the other campuses. There are some systemwide requirements for TAG as well as campus specific requirements. You can always check the UC tag matrix. So, um, there's that. That's what it looks like on the left here. If you want to scan the QR code that will give you a link to the matrix, you can. And I'll be showing you the step-by-step requirements for UC Santa Cruz. But this matrix is helpful for comparing between the campuses. As I said in the last slide, you can only submit a TAG application to one UC campus. So, it's very important to make sure that you're meeting requirements. So, to complete the UC transfer admission planner, the TAP account, this is where you submit your TAG application. You'll need to submit that TAG application between um well, now basically you have two weeks to submit it before September 30th. Um, and then if you're thinking about doing the tag in the future, the tag is always open September 1st and closes end of the month. So once you've submitted the tag, the next step is to submit the UC application and you can submit that anytime in October and November before you plan to enroll. Another thing to note, the major on your UC application must match the major on your TAG application. Now, as I mentioned, a UCAP account is required for you to be able to submit your TAG application. But what is UCAP? So, we love our acronyms here. uh tap is transfer admissions planner which helps you plan your coursework and map your progress for transferring to the UC. And there are many uses for this UC tap account like for example uh admissions rep like myself can see your account and your course history when we um advise you during our one-on-one appointments. For applying to the TAG program, you'll be required to fill this account out in full. And the course history section is one of the most crucial parts. And so you also know how close you are to meeting uh the UC's minimum requirements and what's left to do. So when you fill out your UCAP account, you will enter all of your completed college level coursework along with your in progress and planned coursework. I want to emphasize that for the TAG program, we need to see your coursework through the end of spring term. This is the number one issue we run into TAG applicants and that is they don't list their spring coursework and they don't end up qualifying. We understand that spring 26 schedules may not be out yet or not available, but you should still list the coursework that you plan to take for the term. If you need to make updates to your spring schedule, you can report them on your UC application, but be sure that you're still on track to meet requirements for transfer if there are any changes including your units, seven course pattern, and major requirements. Uh, one thing to note, um, so obviously you don't have course, you don't have grades for this fall yet. So on your TAG application, you want to put that in under grades as in progress IP. And then for your springterm courses, um, under grades, you want to put those as PL under grades. And now, um, I'll walk you through what we look for when we get your TAG application. First, we'll be looking at where you are academically when your TAG was submitted. The last school you attend prior to transfer must be a CCC. Um, you may have attended colleges or universities outside of the California Community College system, um, including like international schools that and that's okay. But your last school attended must be a CCC. At the time that you submit the tag, you must have completed a minimum of 30 or 40 uh 30 semester or 45 quarter units and earned a transferable UC GPA of 3.0. The units and GPA requirement needs to be already completed. So, you cannot count your fall coursework into that unit count or GPA. Second, we'll review where you will be academically by the end of the fall term prior to transfer. We'll need to see that you will by the end of fall complete your first course uh aka the UCE and complete the UCM so the math requirement for seven course pattern and if you're currently enrolled in either of this or both of this for fall term that's okay timing wise and does not disqualify you from TAC Then we'll then we will review if you're meeting all the UC transfer requirements by the end of the spring term prior to transfer. I already went over these requirements in the beginning of the presentation, but it's listed there again on the screen. Okay. If we review all of these requirements and you are indeed are you are indeed meeting them, we will notify you in mid November that you have qualified for a transfer admission guarantee at UCSC. Not every UC does tag pre-evaluations, but our campus does. So, let's assume you got good news and you qualify for a tag. We'll let you know during that pre-evaluation stage, and your next step will be to submit the UC application. Remember that your majors and email between your TAG application and UC application have to match. Also, you want to make sure that you pass any inrogress or planned coursework to keep that tag intact. If you don't meet the tag requirements, we'll also let you know during the pre-evaluation period and we'll let you know the reasons for not qualifying. We share this information not to discourage you but to encourage you to work with your schedule, see what you're missing. Also work with an admissions representative to make sure that you can fix any missing requirements for UC application. And I think I said this already earlier as well, but TAG is not required for transfer admission. We admit many students who may not have met TAG requirements but were still able to apply using the general UC application. Aside from not meeting requirements, here are some other reasons a student may not be eligible for TAG. So, you have a bachelor's degree already. Maybe you're a student still enrolled in high school or your last school of attendance was not a CCC. Now that we've covered tag requirements, here is an overview of the timeline for all of these applications. I also want to reiterate that if you're submitting a tag within the next two weeks, um you want to wait until you receive a decision on your tag before you submit the the um general UC application. Okay? So then it gives you time to make any changes that you need to make. So tag decisions are released in mid November for campuses that offer pre-evaluation. And then um when you submit the general UC application, you should be hearing uh from us um March or April of next year. It's important to thoughtfully consider which campuses are the right fit for you because really the next step is to apply. Whether you choose to apply to one UC campus or all of them, all applicants will use the UC application. This application is specific to the UC system and it's different from the common application. One of the first steps within the application is to select with which of the campuses you want to apply to. And while you only while you select multiple campuses, you will still only submit one UC application. Uh there is also a fee associated with each campus you choose to apply to, but a fee waiver is available for eligible students. Um and that will give you the ability to apply to four campuses. if um eligibility for this fee waiver is determined within the application itself and what information you put in the family and financial information within the application. Also importantly though you'll be applying to multiple UC campuses at once. You do not need to rank them or indicate any campus preference. All campuses who receive your application will make sure to give it a thorough and careful review independently from one another. You are also encouraged to apply broadly across the UC. You know, you don't ever want to just leave your eggs in one basket to increase your chances of being admitted to the UC system. And we've come to our last slide. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to our uh TPP program. The email is there,
[email protected]. Feel free to scan the code on the right as well there to connect with your UCSC representative. And I think it's time for Q&A. Let's see. We have a handful of questions here. Let me see which one should I do first. Okay. Um I'll start with the first one. The question is, if we do not yet have a 3.0 GPA or 30 units, but we will in the spring semester, will we be automatically rejected? Um the yes, you will need to have these before. Sorry. So you'll need to have a 3.0 GPA or at least 30 transferable credits at the time that you submit the tag. Okay. Next question. Does the UC system tell you if your application is missing any major requirements or is that up to us to figure out? So, um, our campus does pre-evaluation. So, by mid November, you'll hear from us regarding your tag. And if you are denied, make sure you ask um why. Maybe you're missing a requirement that you didn't know you were missing. Um yeah, but typically we we would tell you if if it's not there in the response that you get from us, make sure you ask and feel free to reach out to your representative who can tell you. All right, next question. Hi, Claudine. I don't know if you're looking at the question from Astro, but but it is it is pretty specific. And so, Astro, I'm going to send you a link on how to connect with your rep about that. Um, but Claudia, I've marked some other questions for answering live. Yes, let me down here. But if you want to say anything about specific cases, I know that we're a lot of us are in that situation. Yeah. So, Astro, yeah, I'm looking at your question. Um, very specific question here. I would say reach out to your representative. Okay, I'm going to go to the next question here. I'm an international student with an F1 visa currently enrolled in CCC. I've already passed one English class with an A and I'm planning to take another English class. Oops, where is it? In the spring, will I be asked to submit English proficiency test scores later? Uh, for international students for our campus, you would need you would just need the two English courses. So, make sure you pass those. The English proficiency that um that's that's usually what we ask for students who are coming in as first years. Um, any more questions you have that may be specific? I would say also reach out to your rep. Okay, let's see what's another one. I have so I'm looking at anonymous attendee. I have credits from an international university. How I how can I know what will transfer? Will I able will I be able to take summer courses to fulfill my 60 credit minimum? So, in general, we do not do pre-evaluations for courses that are not coming in from the California Community College system. Um, and the reason being is it involves us looking at syllabi and it it takes a while. So, generally we do not do these pre-evaluations of outside coursework. Um, I recommend students really eyeball and see, you know, if those courses will match any of the seven course pattern requirements that we require for students for admission. Um, but yeah, if you're in doubt, I would really strongly recommend you reach out to an admissions rep. Um, they'll probably tell you the same thing. They won't be able to pre-evaluate your courses, your outside courses, but they'll they can kind of eyeball and look line by line to tell you like which may which courses may uh may be transferable. Um but yeah, reach out to a rep for more info. And also, if you're in doubt, um you really don't know if your courses will transfer and you need those courses for seven course pattern, I recommend taking it at a California community college. Okay, Chad Dunn. Tag seven requirements. Does one of the science classes need to have a lab? I get requires a science with a lab. So, in general, I get is not required for UC uh admission. I get is good because if you have a full I gety, it just means that you know after you transfer, you do not have to worry about taking any other GE classes to graduate. But you have it, great. If you don't, that's fine as well. Um, but to answer your science classes, do they need to have a lab? Um, no, it doesn't. Thank you for your question. Okay, next one. Anonymous attendee, does the Oh, does the 3.0 O GPA requirement include all courses or just major relevant courses at the time of TAG application. It is all courses um in general. So the general minimum GPA you need for UC admission to UC Santa Cruz is 2.4, but that's not including the GPA requirement if you have one for your major. And then for TAG, you need at least a 3.0 know at the time that you submit the tag. I hope this helps. Okay. Next, Betan Kundu asks, "At what stage of the admission process do we need to submit the transcript?" Okay, so um when you submit the TAG or the general UC application, we do not require you to submit official transcripts. It is only if and when you are admitted and we start asking for those those are we usually ask uh for those starting May of next year. Um, having said that, if you're not, well, for the tag, you need to fill out the the TAP planner to apply to the TAG, but if you're just applying to the UC general application, I highly recommend that if you do not have a TAP account set up that you have access to your unofficial uh transcripts so you can make sure you're filling out courses and grades as accurately as possible. So yeah, at the time of um the TAG application or the UC application, um we do not require the official transcript, but we'll ask for them later if and when you're admitted. Okay, next one. The tag major and the major for the rest of the UC general application needs to be the same. What if other UC does not have that particular major? global economic tag in UCSC but not in other UC. This is a good question. Uh, you know, I'm not sure. Erin, do you do you know the answer to that? Um, well, I think that it's it's per UC, right? So, we fill out one UC application, but you choose which which campus you want to apply to. And for each campus as a transfer applicant, you will choose a major at that campus that you want to apply into. So, so we don't always have all of the same majors as another UC. Um, the only instance where it needs to match is where whatever UC campus you submit a tag to. So for this example, global like you submitted a tag to UC Santa Cruz for global economics. That means in your UC application, make sure that you select UC Santa Cruz as a UC you want to apply to and make sure the major for that campus is also global economics. Um, so you can only do one tag to one UC campus, but as for the other ones, um, you know, you're going to you're going to pick majors that are available at that UC campus, and sometimes they're similar and sometimes they're going to be different. Does that is there anything you want to add to that, Claudine? No, thank you for answering that. I think I misread this a bit, but yeah, I mean, I also want to stress like the tag, you can only tag to one UC campus. So yes, I mean that tag application would match the general UC um application in the sense that you have to make you know you have to uh choose the same major for that campus. But in regards to you know applying to other UC campuses though the global economic major may be called something else but you're not tagging to those other UC campuses. So but yeah, thank you Erin. Um, we hope that we answered your question on that one. Okay, let's see. Next one. If I am planning on trying to transfer to UC Santa Cruz in the fall of 2027, do I still need to submit the TAP form this September or can I submit it next year? Okay, so if you're trying to transfer to UC Santa Cruz in fall of 2027, you want to apply one year before. So for you, if you want to do um a tag for UC Santa Cruz, you want to do that next September, September of 2026. And then you would submit the general UC application anytime in um October or November. And then the next question to answer live here, for non-screening majors, there isn't any prerequisites, correct? Yes, there isn't any prerequisites. Um, obviously you want to take classes in that major to see if you like it. And um, yeah, if for more information, you can always go on assist.org. Assist.org would also have information on the major itself, even if there are no um, prerequisites for that major. Okay. Answer a question from Cameron. Can I submit TAG two years in a row? I didn't get tagged last year, but I was accepted. I'm fairly certain I have the requirements now. Just wanted to check if being admitted and declining admission in a previous year would disqualify from TAG or affect acceptance in any way. Very good question. Yes, you can submit TAG uh two years in a row. Um the thing about it is in general when we even read UC applications if and you know there are students who um apply to our campus multiple times and don't accept our offer for um you know their their personal reasons. But yeah we you know you can apply as many times as you want. However we don't take the um fact that you've been admitted last year into consideration when we read your new application. We read it independently from the the the previous years. Jesse Lopez asks, "Is there a formal process you go through for getting in contact with a rep or can I just send them an email based on the website that was linked?" You can send them on the on you can send them an email um based on um what you see on the on the website there. Okay. Um, anonymous attendee asks, "I've already taken two years at a CCC by spring of 2026. I will have 83 total semester units or credits. I took an extra year just to meet the requirements for a UC rather than a CSU. I just want to make sure my standing won't be affected by the amounts of credits I will have." Um, this one's pretty specific. So, I would say reach out to your representative, okay? They can look at your UCAP account. Um, if you're planning to, you know, submit a tag as well, make sure you contact them. Uh, because you only have two more weeks to submit the tag. Hey, Claudine, could I add to that as well? Um, just because I think there's there's been so many great questions that you're answering and um, you know, you all heard Claudine explain that you need to have a TAP account, a transfer admission planner account in order to apply for a transfer admission guarantee, but I just want to make a plug to make that account regardless if you end up going for the guarantee or not. Um, reps like myself and Claudine can look at your UCAP account, um, your course history, what majors you're interested in. That's what we look at to get an idea of where are you withstanding, what units are transferring over, where's your GPA at. Um, I I would if you haven't made a TAP account yet and you've and you know that you need to reach out to a representative to to talk more in detail, I would say make that before you meet with us. Um, because that's, you know, uh, these are great questions for like, hey, where am I standing with TAG or UC requirements, but the transfer admission planner is how folks like myself and Claudine can really look at that with you. Um, so I just wanted to make another plug of like make a tap account if you haven't made one already and I'll drop the link right now. Yeah, thank you. I um also when students make appointments with me, I always email them ahead of time to remind them to create a tap account before our meeting. So, thank you for that reminder. Uh, there's a question here. Is there a tag application for intending to transfer in spring 2026 or 2027? So TAG the TAG application is only valid for the month of September. Uh we only offer TAG to be admitted for fall admission, not for winter or spring admission. So, for example, if you wanted to be admitted uh for winter at UC Santa Cruz, you would need to apply in July, the year before, because that's when the general UC application opens for winter admission. I think those are all the questions so far. Anyone else have questions? Oh, let me see. It looks like my rep is unavailable and there's a chance we won't be able to meet before the end of the month. Is there anyone else I can reach out to? Um, I would also recommend just um maybe picking a a a community college that's closest to you and see um if another rep pops up and hopefully they should be available. Um we are a lot of us are also on the road to do recruitment and outreach at the moment. So hopefully there is someone who is available. Another thing you could do, I know I answered this in another question, is uh CC um the the email transfer.edu. Um so still email your rep and then a nearby one like Claudine is saying. Um, but that transfer email will go to our transfer peer mentors. Um, so that, you know, kind of helps get the word out um, as much as possible to maybe connect with someone else if your rep isn't immediately available. Um, we are also like continuously adding more appointment slots. So if if you don't see something right now, it's possible that um you know in a couple days we're going to put more things in our calendar because like Claudine said, we're traveling and so we we have to find our pockets of time to do that. Yeah. Thank you. I if I'm your rep, if any if anyone here is my um if I'm your rep, um just know that I'll be adding more appointment slots soon. Okay, a couple more questions. Is acceptance uh is acceptance chance high for local students? For example, for UCSC, San Jose or San Ramon City get priorities? Um yeah, I mean I mentioned earlier we uh prioritize students who are coming from California community colleges. Uh and the the reason for that is we have course agreements with the schools in the CCC system. Um and if you if you're already well I assume a lot of students here are already community college students. um because this is a tag workshop, but if you notice in the catalog for your respective schools, a lot of the classes are going to say, you know, UC transferable, and that makes it um an easier process to transfer to the UC campus that you want to. Um but yeah, I hope I hope that answers the question. I also want to add like um there was a student earlier who said that they had international um courses on their application. I I mean and I think the question is like am I at a disadvantage? I mean in general you know we also can we consider all students just to just to put it out there we consider all students. it is easier to transfer um if you have courses from any of the CCC's just because like I said earlier we have agreements with those schools in place already and if you want to see those courses they're all available on assist.org. Okay, more questions. I currently have a conditional admission for TAG and a planned meeting with the transfer counselor and my community college. Is there anything you recommend I do for prepping for my transfer and keeping my conditional admission? I Okay, so if you Well, first advice is if you don't have a a Hang on, you have a conditional admission. Okay, so you have a tap account already. Um my my other advice is to make sure you keep your grades up, keep doing well and progressing. Uh part of keeping your tag intact and your conditional admission is that you want to keep doing well in your classes and keeping your GPA up because um also, you know, take the classes that you say that you were going to take on your TAG application because if you make any changes, you know, it potentially changes your admission decision, right? um just because you have different courses and also if you're going to make any changes and I hope you are not uh but things happen like maybe classes are not available for spring but if you have to make any changes make sure that you reflect those on your UC application and as a reminder the UC application is open now it opened on August 1st um you can start filling it out now but I would say because you have a tag oh you already have a conditional admission for tag Okay. So, um yeah, you can uh start completing the UC application now and submit it anytime in October and November. Do we need to write an essay for UC general application? If yes, when to submit that? So, yes, we do have a written um portion of the UC application called the PIQ's. Uh every campus is different. So, I want to say for UC Santa Cruz specifically, we don't really we read them, but they're not a big um factor in admissions. Generally, if you have requirements except for computer science, if you have all the requirements met, you have a good chance of getting in just in in terms of the submitting the regular UC application. uh with the exception of computer science, we've had to deny students because we just don't have the space. But yeah, when to submit that, you submit the written uh PIQ section of the application when you're filling out the application itself. Okay. When filling out the tap form about what CC I am going to, can I update it later to be more accurate? Yes, you can make changes to your TAP account, but make sure you do it before you submit the the tag. And again, the tag is due September 30th. Please don't wait until the last minute. And you have two weeks. Next question. I believe earlier in this call it was mentioned that the UCI gets not required. My CCC academic counselor is heavily recommend recommending that I complete the UC I gety before applying which is adding semesterers to complete my transfer requirements. Which direction regarding the I gety should we follow? Good good question. So in general the I gety is not required for admission. I personally do uh advise that students who are not majoring in any STEM majors to complete it because it means that when you do transfer to UC Santa Cruz, you don't have to worry about completing any more general classes. You can just concentrate on your major courses. Um and for students who are majoring in any STEM you know majors those majors generally would have heavier prerequisites which would not allow really um the time for the completion of the of the full I gety. So it's really up to you. Would you want to do your um would you want to complete all of your GE requirements at the at the forefront of your academic career or would you rather do them after you transfer? It's really up to you. But good question. I'm taking CIS-25 at Berkeley City College. UCSC only recognizes CIS-25 at Laney in the Peralta district. These are the same class with the same syllabus. I didn't know about this until I had already register for the class at Berkeley. Laney won't let me take the class again next semester because I'm already taking it this semester. I'm going to catch uh reach out to your representative. This one sounds like a very specific uh question and it sounds like maybe we'd have to ask one of our uh I'm like trying to remember the role of this person. But yeah, it's like our articulation. Yeah, articulation officer. We might have to um yeah, confirm this class with our articulation officer. And all of the UC campuses have at least one person who does this. So yeah, good good question though. Thanks, Erin. Let's see. I have some electives left to do before fall 2026, and I was wondering if changing some elective classes in the next semester would affect tag acceptance. Sometimes certain classes aren't available and the teacher assignments for those classes aren't released until registration in December, January. So, it'd be nice if I could select those elective classes a little bit more flexibly in the spring semester. Yeah. So that's the issue that I think a lot of TAG applicants have and that is they either leave they either leave out their spring courses and or you know they have to change their courses because maybe it's not available in the spring term and yeah that may affect your temp your tag acceptance but I also I didn't say this in the um presentation earlier but I think because of that a lot more students gain admission using the general UC application as opposed to the tag. The tag is very specific. Um, but yeah, you know, it really depends. I I have to give you a blanket um answer just because it really depends on the classes. I know you said elective, but again, I don't know your major. So, um, but yeah, if you submit the tag and you have to change your classes for the spring, let us know that on the UC application. And then, you know, the application's due uh October, November. And if you have more updates after that, we do send out a link where students can update us. So, I think the main thing is you want to keep communicating with us to let us know that you have changes in your schedule. Thank you, Cameron. Jesse, let's see. Is there an automated message or anything that you get on UC TAP if you're missing information when you try to submit your application? If not, is there a good checklist somewhere that I can cross reference my application with? You know, I'm I'm not sure if there's an automated message. I think the only thing that comes up is if you have a gap in your education, like so if there's a semester that you were not taking classes or you didn't put classes in. um both your app account and the UC application do this like where they'll kind of flag it and say hey like do you have these and I think the only other time is if the UC application is look is um it it might let you know like hey do you we don't know or we can't tell if you have your UC English and UC math requirements that are part of the seven course pattern. I believe those are the only times that you would get um like you're asking Jesse kind of like an automated or or maybe like a flag. Um, I would say for a checklist other than the live checklist of checking in with your rep and having them look at your UCAP. Um, I would also reference the tag requirements for the campus that you're submitting it to. Um, I just dropped the link for Santa Cruzes. If you scroll down a bit, there's a list that says UC UCSD tag eligibility, and that might be a good one to like cross reference your tap with um if you just want to do that on your own. Thank you, Erin. Yeah, good question, Jess. Uh, Jesse. Okay. The question I see here, if I'm understanding correctly, do I need to go to a different CCC to qualify the major requirement when it says no course articulated? Yes. So, if you're on assist and you're looking at your prerex for your major and the course you need says uh no course articulated, you will need that to you will need to take that course. So you'll have to look around at which other community colleges are nearby you so you can take the course or you know if like if this if the class is offered virtually then I mean you know the community college doesn't have to be near you but yes you will have to take it at a different CCC. We have five more minutes so one more question just came in. Betton, if I've already finished my all UC transferred required course, do I still need to remain registered in a community college? So, generally speaking, if you're just submitting the UC application and you've done all your requirements, you do not need to take any more classes. That's fine with us. for the tag. Um, I know your last school needs to be a CCC, but it doesn't necessarily have to be this past year's. I don't know if you want to add anything, Erin, with that to that question. Yeah, I think it's um we do have uh students that aren't taking classes maybe in these most recent semesters because they've finished their requirements. Um and if it's your current school, then again, the application is probably going to prompt you saying, "Hey, are you are you going to be taking classes during this time?" And you're able to write an explanation. So, I mean that's it's up to you with if if you want to take more classes uh for fun, for your own learning. Um but also if you're, you know, not going to be if you don't want to take classes and you don't need to, then it it's what would happen is you'd write that explanation in your app. Um that that was all I think to add. Okay. Yeah, thank you. I was just like, is there something I'm missing? But yeah, like as long as your last school of attendance uh was at uh at a CCC, then then you should be good, right? We have three more minutes or any more questions. Good questions. Thank you everybody. Anyone else? Okay. Well, I just want to thank everyone for being here. I hope that was helpful. As a reminder, if you're submitting TAG, the application is due in the next two weeks. U please do not wait until last minute. And if you have questions, feel free to reach out to your rep. And again, my name is Claudine and I'm joined here with Aaron. Thank you for being here. Have a good one.
