hey Michael church here crawl space ninja did you know there's more places inside of the house that has humidity issues sometimes you got a humid basement you could even have a humid attic but what if it's hard to get a dehumidifier access into those spaces we actually had that situation in one of our office spaces where we were trying to make sure that the humidity was under control so with the help of Aprilaire we put in a ducting kit and installed this dehumidifier and a little later in the video we're going to show you what that looks like but real quick take a look at how we set up this dehumidifier where if this was in an attic like it is here at crawl space ninja corporate we've got this drip pan so that way if for some reason any of these leak it actually goes into the drip pan so that it's not getting your drywall and everything wet down below and then this thing is running good it's ducting the dry air into one part of the crawl space while pulling the moisture into the other we're also using the new Aprilaire Wi-Fi thermostat stat the s-86w this is a great product easy to install watch this video to learn more and we're going to make this available as a kit on our DIY store if you want to install this yourself foreign on the side so when you screw that in it gives you about an inch inch and a quarter of depth oh okay so like if we were to go through the OSB right versus you know the sheetrock and OSP stacked together right that'd be about perfect okay but considering we're gonna go just on sheetrock it'll adjust itself to it oh okay because it flips out and just it did show that in that picture this is uh Alex from Aprilaire Alex tell us why we have a collar that goes from 10 inch to 8 inch on a on a dehu ducting system sure so when you're ducked in one of these units on the Dew itself you'll have a 10 inch collar all right so you're going to go from a 10 which is here to an eight inch and the reason why we have the eight inches for the flex so what we're doing is the CFM that's coming out of the dehue is going to get forced through that ductwork through that flexible line so we're going to connect here at the D Hue and we're going to connect here at the flex line to maintain that CFM and that can be on the return or the supply side is that correct correct it will be on both sides so what we'll have in the kit and the ducting kit your D Hue would be in the middle and you would have each collar on each side and then you would run your flex line you'll get 25 feet of R4 which will supply and return that dehue and go to a register that will be either on your ceiling you know wherever you want to put this in your wall however you're running your application and it's fully adjustable so it's not a set length and it's not a set depth and you have adjustability with this okay and since the D who's got a filter in it you don't have to worry about taking the air it filters the air as it goes through the system so what we're doing is in most applications you're going to be pulling this from an AC Supply system so what you'll have is you'll have conditioned air and if you're running this on its own which is the way this kit is intended is it will pull from a ceiling in come through the pipe to the dehue itself and back out with dry air going back out in the same fashion gotcha and what's the recommended distance between the the supply and the return the recommended distance is at least a minimum of six feet but I would recommend a minimum of 10 just simply because you want to be able to pull the air at a far enough distance away that you can actually condition the entire space and not just the section of the space very good all right thank you [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] the red and the blue won't matter this is the control panel on the DU this should look familiar that's right here so red goes to positive blue goes to negative yellow and yellow can be represented by any two wires all we're wanting to do is make a complete circuit so in this case we're going to use green and yellow because that's all we have available very important you do not take this jumper out um thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music]
