Thrive in 2025: Day 2 - Energy and Strategies for Business Success

[Music] [Music] Welcome everyone to day two of Thrive in 2025. I am Renee Marino and I get to be your host for these three amazing days. I'm so excited to welcome you back because if you loved day one, you are going to be blown away by where we take you today. And if you're just joining us today for the first time, welcome. You too are in the right place. Now, you may have noticed the high energy we bring to everything we do. There's a reason for this. Tony says, "The higher your energy, the deeper the information lands and lasts." So, I'm going to ask you to bring your full energy today for you, for Dean, for our amazing guest speakers. Who's ready to find a new level of energy you haven't felt in a long time? Say, "I am ready in the [Applause] chat." Ready, ready, ready. I am ready. Gosh, the energy that we're talking about. Yes. Thank you. These three days are all about learning how to build, launch, and scale a business you love that has impact in your world and the world. And there has never been a better time to do exactly that. So, if you started the day yesterday wondering, is this possible for me? Chances are you're starting to feel that shift. And I know from the Facebook group, so many of you are already seeing a new vision for thriving in 2025. You're thinking, I can actually see myself doing this, right? Seeing your comments took me back to my day two. It was five years ago, and I had taken so many notes, and I was on fire, thinking, I can do this. This is possible for me. I can go from everyone else calling the shots to me being in control of my future, where I work, when I work, and how much money I get to make. Okay, everyone, get ready. I brought this just for you. Here is my actual notebook from five years ago. I traveled this just so I could show you. It's proof that the ideas in here and the decisions you make today will determine who you'll be tomorrow. So, get your notebooks ready because we're going to bring Dean up here in a moment and he's going to show us how to make this real for ourselves. And not for nothing, okay? Today you'll also be learning from Jay Shetty and his wife Rody and Mr. Matthew McConna. Oh yeah, you're in for a treat. So let's become distraction proof. Close out all those other tabs on your computer. Nothing's more important than this very moment. So make a commitment to not miss one minute because to miss a little is to miss a lot. This day is going to rock your socks. So, let's all take a breath in together right now and know that any feeling of nervousness is just excitement with a different label because you are being introduced to new opportunities for your life. Trust you have the right people to guide you on your path and they are right here today. So, let's bring that high magnetic energy and help me welcome back to the stage Dean Graiosi. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I see you. Carlos Lopez, what's going on? Mary Lynn, Kate, I see you. D Smith, what's going on? Sirene, always good to see you. What's going on, guys? Ready for day two? I see you. Jay McLaclin, Maddie, Austin, you played full out yesterday, brother. Good to have you back, man. Sandra, Catherine, Jean is ready to party today. I see it. I see it. Ken's got a little head nod going on. He's about ready to get into it. Matthew Jones, what's going on? I see it. Teresa, I hope I said that right. What's going on, everybody? Well, welcome to day two. I got to say, yesterday may have been uh the most fun I've ever had in our events. I I'm not kidding you. It was day one. The energy was amazing. You guys lit up the screen. You did the work. I I just want to say thank you for giving it back. Um such an awesome day for me and and I stayed up way too late. I don't know if anybody else did, reading all the posts and watching the videos in the Facebook group. It was incredible. And I really want to take a moment and acknowledge you. I saw some of you took uncomfortable action for the first time. You wrote something in any other world you might be embarrassed to write. You did it. And and besides that, the amazing future products that I saw, there's about 50 of them I saw last night that I'll buy as soon as you're ready. Because once you understand the fastest way to get from where you are to where you want to be is to find somebody who's already done it, then you realize, I mean, some of you this might be new to you, but you'll never be the same when you realize you can buy or share specialized knowledge, right? And remember, today we're going to be rewarding some of you who took that action. So later on this after Matthew McConna, what an amazing day uh we have set up for you. We're gonna give away VIP tickets to upcoming Tony and Dean events as our way of saying thank you for taking action. So, make sure Yeah, I see you, Sandra. I know. I know. I see. We got some fun stuff coming up. Also, you know, just before we get into this amazing day we have planned. We got a lot planned. So, just like yesterday, we're going to go fast. Um, but I was thinking last night how truly blessed I am that I found this industry. This is what I do for a living to be here with you all. And you all have the opportunity for this. Most all of you said yesterday you would choose impact over income. But the truth is we can have the opportunity to do both. And we can all have the opportunity to do both. We can have purpose and passion, impact and income. I'm not saying some magical money machine, but a real opportunity to create a life that you desire in an industry that truly fulfills your soul. And I don't think there's any better example. Tony was sharing yesterday about how his dad, right, when they didn't have Thanksgiving and there was no food, right, it triggered his dad to go one direction, it triggered him to go in another, meaning people are good and we could give back. And and I know I shared this last night, but we passed one million meals that we're going to be donating in your name for those of you who chose the VIP upgrade. We're taking your dollar. Yeah, give it up for that. We're taking your dollar. We're matching the dollar and it'll be over a million meals. And it just proves that we can do both. We can do well for ourselves while we do good for others. Who's ready to do well for ourselves so we can do good for others, right? Put our oxygen mask on so we can take care of the people we love. And as Renee said, I hope you're starting to see how this all can fit into your life. You may have showed up yesterday, I'm not sure. Maybe that investigator kind of just checking it out, but you're back. And I want you to remember three quick things I shared yesterday. One, if you're in the right industry that's growing combined with modeling proven practices who's already done what you want to do, that's why you're here. Tony and I have done this in such a huge scale for so many years. But the last one is the most important because if you're in the right industry, if you have the right plan, guidance, and tools to get there, then the last thing is you have to persist until you succeed. You have to make sure nothing can stop you. Who's ready? Put it in the chat or raise your hand. Who's ready to persist until they succeed? To live into who you're meant to be, not settling to be. No more regrets. Don't get to the end of your life thinking, "I missed it." This is our time to go in, right? I see you. I see you, Nikki. I see you, Kathleen. I see you, Christine, Mel, Jeanie. I see you, Debbie. I see you, Nikki Lo. What's going on? I see you. Remember this, too. Each day builds upon the prior day. I know Renee said it, but I'm going to remind you to choose commitment over convenience. Don't miss a moment. The other thing to remember is perspective is power. As you're going through this, if that old perspective, that old story starts to come into your head, go, "No, no, no. You didn't serve me. You had me miss opportunities in the past. I have a new perspective. I'm getting a new prescription where I see my future clearly." And when you feel that, hold on to that because the biggest thing that could derail you is that old story saying, "We've tried things before. They didn't pass." The heck with that. That was yesterday. This is today. Because the cost of inaction is too big in this fastm moving world, right? So maybe today instead of seeing obstacles, we can see opportunity. Who's ready to see opportunity over obstacles today? Yeah, me too. Let's have a fun day. You know, yesterday we talked through I got to remind you how far we've come together. Yesterday we talked through what you would share, whether it was at a career or a business skill, maybe a personal experience, a mess that becomes a message, a passion. Then we talked about and dialed it down who you would share it with. Remember, the smaller the better. You dial it down. Still a big pool, but they're ideal. And then we talked about how would you share it. Some of you picked a course, some coaching, some mastermind, some a group, some of you wanted to do in-person retreats. We worked on a solution statement. I help with right then some of you did your teaching points. You played with Gigi. I mean all of that was yesterday. And then wasn't Jillian freaking awesome? Who enjoyed watching Jillian yesterday? It was so good. I I think the greatest gift she gave all of us is made you realize that we all start with a dream and we all start scared to death. Is that true? Right. We we want this next level but we're still scared. I think that was like h that's all of us, right? But we can't let that inner doubt stop us. When I asked what was the biggest takeaway from Jillian, you guys all did the Nike commercial. We have to just go for it. Just do it right. Our next level lives on the other side of the uncomfortable action that we take. And then of course, nobody better than Mr. Tony Robbins to crush old beliefs, create a new path to success. At the end when he was doing the heart-c centered emotion, I was standing here with my wife. Truly tears in my eyes. I've watched him do that 20 times in my life and every time I love it because in that state of mind what's possible in that state of mind thinking from your heart what's possible everything right canal I I see it right you said everything now today today is my favorite it's the next most important piece of the puzzle today I get to share my greatest skill one that took me about 30 years to master today is about how to fasttrack your first sale to next sales to consistent sales by finding the exact people who need and want what it is you have to offer. It's one I believe one of my greatest skills. And then after we do that, I'm going to show you how to get a yes through service using our yeses method. I guess it's the yes method, right? Get a yes by the yes method. You're going to absolutely love it. You will fall in love with sales after this for sure. And again, I'm going to remind you, stay to the end. Not only we giving away cool stuff at the end, we got Matthew McConna. Plan this day out. Cancel the meetings because it's going to be one heck of a day. Who's ready for this amazing day? Listen, I'm all in. I'm committed to you. And if you guys are all in, if you're ready to live into who you're meant to be, put in the chat one more time, I'm in. Oh, you guys are already doing it. I'm in. All in. Look at this. All in. All in. All in. All in. And I love it. There we go. There we go. That's how we kick off the [Music] day. All right. All right. Okay. So, before we get into me sharing what I absolutely love to share to demystify sales, how to make it real before we make it real. And before we I don't know where that laugh come from. That was pretty cool. Before we get started, I'm so excited for our first two guests. I have the pleasure of getting to know these two incredible humans, and I can't wait for you to spend some time with them today. First off, Jay is an award-winning podcaster, and he's received over, you ready for this, 4 billion views of his podcast. He's a global New York Times bestseller. He's a purpose-driven entrepreneur. And before all of that, he spent three years living as a monk in India. He decided, right, we talk about taking our personal experiences. He decided to leave that and then come apply his concepts he mastered as a monk into the real world. James become a real friend. And he told me it was his vision to make purpose and ancient wisdom not only relatable but also practical, right? Life experience, share it with others, turn it into a business. But when he returned, his sister introduced him to Rody Dvlukia, who's now his amazing wife. through her own passion of encouraging people to better understand themselves, their environment, and what they put on their body, what they put in their body, combined with her background as a nutritionist, she did the same thing. She took her life experience and she shares everything she knows on how to live a conscious life. They both have shared a mission to spread love, purpose, and positive transformation globally. So, can we please give it up for Jay Shetty and Rody Devlucia Shetty? What's up, guys? Hey, everyone. What's up, dude? Oh, it's so good to be here with you guys. You know, um before we get started, I I have to say, and Jay, I tell you this because I get the chance to talk to Jay more. I talk with to talk with Rody. I hope he translates this, but it's such a pleasure to watch the impact you guys are making on the world and and from your relationship to sometimes your quirkiness to your happiness to your honesty. It's it's just been amazing. You know, I got to watch you before I knew you. I told you something, Jay. A prophet's never welcome in their hometown. I say that humbly. Um, so when my kids when I want them to watch something that I want them to learn, you are the person. You are the go-to for my kids who are now 18 and 16 and and I mean that. So I I just want to say from my heart to yours, thank you for being here and thanks for everything you do in the world. Well, first of all, Dan, I just want to say how grateful I am for that trust. Uh, I've loved getting to know you over the years and truly yours and Tony's dedication to serve the hundreds of thousands of people every single year is truly an incredible, incredible feat. And so, I thank you for doing this and for having us here. We're both so grateful and honored to be with you all. And thank you to everyone who's committed to thrive in 2025 because you're going to make a difference. Everything that you're learning here from the incredible lineup of speakers and guests you've had is truly phenomenal. So Dean, a big thank you to having us both as well. Oh, my absolute pleasure. And I see everybody's lighting it up. They love having you here. So I'm going to get right to the questions. You know, I'm going to start with you, Jay. Um I I wrote this little note from monk to mentor, right? But your journey is so unique, right? From studying in silence to speaking to millions of people. What inspired you to start sharing your message? And and I guess not only what inspired you to share it, when did you realize that your life experience could actually become a passionate business? Absolutely. It's such a great question, Dean. The first part of the answer is I really discovered something that changed my life. And I think what's really interesting is let's say you saw an amazing movie or an amazing TV show. Wouldn't you tell everyone you love about it? You'd be like, "Hey, you need to go to the theaters and watch this movie or you got to stream this TV show tonight." Like, you're going to love it. Now, that's entertainment. But when it comes to enlightenment, if you've been fortunate enough to learn enlightenment tools, if you've learned meditation or mindfulness, if you've learned the tools to master your mind and emotions, I felt such a responsibility that I was getting to learn what less than 1% of the planet gets to learn in the way I did. And I walked away from that thinking if I don't share this with the world, it's actually the greatest disservice. So my reason for doing this was just this overwhelming feeling that I'd been so fortunate and so lucky and so grateful to have met the monks to studied with them to lived as one to have had these amazing experiences. I felt compelled that I had to share it with people. Now to your second part of the question of when did I feel this could actually become a passion, a business, a real thing for me. I think your audience will really really appreciate this. It was many years later. I genuinely never believed. I was just like the people that are in Thrive in 2025 who so many of you I'm sure are thinking, "Oh, Dean, like you can do it and Tony can do it and Jane Riley can do it, but maybe I can't do it." I was that person. I literally believed that I was so happy if five to 10 people showed up to an event. I'd be over the moon if 20 people showed up to an event and I would serve them and teach and guide for hours and hours and hours. And I did that for years before I ever felt maybe I should put out a video. And when I started making content, I thought getting a thousand subscribers on YouTube was the peak of the mountain. I was over the moon and I was so grateful. So it was many years into my career when I started to hit a certain level of excitement and enthusiasm about what I was doing. I would say it was as recent as 2016 2017 that I really felt this had a future. And the difference is Dean that since then I never took my foot off the gas. As soon as I realized that this could really make a difference in the world, could make a difference in my life, and it could be an offering, I made sure that I was focused, strategic, and organized because you can't manufacture momentum. And when you finally find it, you have to go all in. You can't let up. You you know, and thank you for sharing that. You know, your gifts that you learned, you felt obligated to share. And I say this all the time for us to end, you know, someday pass away with all this knowledge in our head that can allow people to go faster is the biggest disservice. This we use the same words and yours was in wellness or meditation and alignment and but somebody might just be a chapter ahead in a marriage or chapter ahead in their marketing department or a chapter ahead, right? They learn something. Somebody's starting on day one and you have all this experience. You already took a bunch of wrong turns. You took some right turns. you know, some of the knowledge turned into intuition and wisdom. And I feel like that's why this industry is is not only growing so exponentially, it's becoming cool. You know, Tony and I have conversations and he was so happy that you were going to be here with us, Jay. Um, I'm so glad that you two connected, had some amazing interviews together, and we were talking about just the other day and talking about when we first started, he started 46 years ago. I started 29 years ago. It wasn't cool. Like you wouldn't walk around and say, "Hey, I have a coach." They'd be like, "Are you on a soccer team?" Like, "Why do you have a coach?" Right now, if you go to dinner with five people, someone says, "I have a life coach. I have a health coach. I'm becoming coach certified. I have a coach helping us with our marriage. I have someone help me with my macros." So now it's what's so cool is it's become cool and you get to I mean, you transform lives for a living and each of us have something that could help someone else. And Rody, I I want to say um watching you and on on your journey has been so much fun. Your your passion for wellness, uh conscious cooking, in intentional living, it's not only resonated with so many people. It truly resonates with my wife. Like she absolutely loves following your stuff and and and your cookbooks and all all the great things. We're we're been building a new house for the last couple of years and we built this kitchen just for her to do her magic and I'm so excited for her. But I I want to ask you, was it was it Jay? Was it something you thought about before? Um, what made you decide to turn your this into something bigger like your cookbook and your content and and maybe more importantly, what was that first step in that direction? Yeah, thank you so much for your sweet words. That's so so kind of you and honestly from the day that I met you, you always had the best energy. I just have to say and you were always so encouraging and so kind even when I was I remember I think I met you when I was studying back in the day and so I I really appreciate all your encouragement over the years. Um how did I decide to turn what I was doing into into this? Honestly I I remember being the person and I was studying as I mentioned when I met you who just wanted to consistently be a student. I never felt like I knew enough. I was like, "Okay, but I have to do another course and then I have to like learn this and wait, no, I can't I can't become an Ayurvedic something because I still need to do another three courses before I feel qualified." And I think I really struggled throughout my life with feeling qualified to become something or to share as something or to even say I'm a nutritionist when I'd done two degrees like I always felt underqualified. And I remember um one of my spiritual teachers Rahanat Swami he said once in this class he said knowledge is so useless unless it's shared and I guess it's very similar to what you're both speaking about but he also added to that that you can actually get so much ego just from accumulating knowledge. There's one thing about knowledge and then there's one thing that's wisdom and wisdom is when you take your knowledge and you experience it and you put it into practice. And so it's really only half of what you're supposed to do. Like you you're supposed to have knowledge and you're supposed to have experience. And that's when you are able to truly share something because not only do you have it in your mind, you also have it through your life. And I think the best way to share something is when you've lived it because you can be theoretical, but then if you haven't experienced it, you're just sharing from a place of mind, not heart. And so I really had to learn how to blend the two. And I started sharing because I guess it's similar to what Jay said. I started experiencing the benefits of of um synchronizing with nature. I started understanding the benefits of how I can heal my body by myself and understanding my body and what that felt like. And I really wanted other people to feel that. I wanted people to know that they don't have to be helpless when it comes to their health. I wanted people to realize that there's so much that they can do for themsel that doesn't require another person. And so I guess it was a mix of all of those things that encouraged me to say, you know what, what I'm learning isn't even mine and I can just be a bridge for that. Like I'm taking it from a teacher and I can just be a bridge to take another person to that same place. That doesn't mean I have to be an expert at it, but at least I can take them from one spot to another and guide them towards it. And it really took the the pressure off me. Um Tony's always said this and I I I watched it firsthand being in this industry for so long that when the outside world feels a little heavy, the insecurities on the inside compound. It feels like you put a magnifying glass on it. And I would bet to say especially someone saying I want to do my own thing. I would love to impact people for a living. This is a group of people that want purpose and passion in their life and they still want to create a business at the same time. But there's definitely no denying it that right now the world feels chaotic. It feels uncertain. It feels overwhelming for so many people. You guys have both built lives rooted in presence, clarity, and purpose. What could help somebody stay centered when the world feels out of control? That's a good question. What can help someone feel centered in a world that feels so chaotic? Um, you know, I always used to hear the idea whenever I used to create discipline in my life, I always used to hear people around me say, "Oh my gosh, that feels that sounds so restrictive. like don't you just want to let loose and have fun and stay up late and eat this and do that and the more I became disciplined the more freedom I felt and so and the and the more at ease I felt and I think sometimes when things feel chaotic on the outside creating regulation in your life can help so much so for me I mean and I can speak from experience like if I don't have my wake up time at the same time my meditation in the morning my workouts at the same time, knowing what I'm eating and when I'm eating it. It can be as simple as like having the same meal times every single day. Well, because you're controlling the control. You're controlling the things that you can control. There are some things out of your control, right? And trying to control something you're not in charge of. That might be the craziest thing ever, right? I love that. Yes. And so like having the either having a calendar where you can see your you're sticking to those times or having a checklist that you're going through of the things you want to complete in a day, it allows you to feel so at ease. Your nervous system doesn't want to not know what's happening. And so in a time where you feel fearful about other things that are unsure, create some sort of certainty which can be in your discipline and your regulation. I love that. I love that. Um yeah, go ahead. Dean, did you want me to dab in on that or do you want perspective, too. No, I I was going to repeat what you both said, like definitely double down on that. And the only thing I'd add is learn how to find your news, but don't just let your news find you. And what I mean by that is today, most of us, news finds us. We're just scrolling. Yeah. And you see something and now you're sucked in. You've got the news channel on in the background while you're cooking, while the kids are getting ready for school, whatever it is. your news is finding you. You don't find it yourself. It It's important to be informed, but wake up in the morning, have a set time that you say, "I'm going to spend 10 minutes checking the news." And then don't let it be there. But if you're constantly scrolling and finding and the news is just finding you, you have more reasons to be anxious, stressed, nervous. So, I like to be informed. I like to know what's happening in the world. I think it's important, but I have set times in the day when I know I'm good at managing stress. By the way, that's not first thing when you wake up and last thing when you go to bed. It's finding a time in between when you've had a moment to regulate to say, "Yeah, I'm going to check my news at 9:00 a.m. I'm going to check the news at 6 p.m., but I'm not going to change check it just when I wake up and just before I go to bed." So good. So good. It's more of it controlling you to you. you control what you take in when you take in and be in a state of mind where you can be subjective and look at both sides rather than there's nothing worse. I've been I've been doing it for years. The the worst thing in the world is to wake up in the morning and look at your phone. I feel like it's Russian roulette. There could be a text you don't like. There could be an email you don't like. There could be news you don't like. Rather, you set the intentions. I'm going to switch a little bit uh a little something maybe slightly tactical. Um, but when it comes to social media trends, um, you watch so many things change and shift, but I really like when I watch somebody like you two that stay grounded and true to your passions and still growing and still following new new people following you. And of course, you have momentum. It all starts at zero. I get that. But what would what tips would you give someone who's just getting started on social media? And like you said earlier, maybe they're at the the 10 people. you hope a thousand people come watch it someday, but they're at the 6 10 15 20 and it seems like so far away. So, what what advice would you give? So, great great question. The first thing I'd say is Dean is you can't be a multi-platform person in the beginning. You've got to very quickly figure out the platform that connects with your audience, that really resonates with you, that you feel you have an impact on. When I started my career, that platform was Facebook, believe it or not. Today, that platform is Instagram and Tik Tok. For someone else, it might be YouTube. And I think the challenge we have is we're like, "Oh, no. I want to be everywhere because that's what I see everyone who's doing it well." So, the first thing is pick your platform based on where your natural audience is and what your skill set is. The second thing I'd say is know your genre. And I'll explain what I mean by that. The New York Times released an article where they analyzed 7,000 pieces of viral content. And they found that the only things that go viral are content that makes you feel something, not makes you learn something, not makes you do something, content that makes you feel something. And it had to make you feel one of these five things. Adventure, humor, negativity, inspiration, or surprise. If after finishing a video or reading a quote, you don't feel adventure, humor, negativity, inspiration, or surprise, it will not spread. So, I always ask myself, how do I feel after watching this? If I don't feel anything, it doesn't matter how much I taught you. It doesn't matter how much value I gave you. If you don't feel where we were humans, we want to feel something. So when we see a little baby like doing something really cute, you feel something. When you see a person helping someone else out, you feel something. There's a reason. So that's the second thing. And the third thing is discover your role. You talked about this earlier when you talked about going on stage and traveling with Tony. Some of us are brilliant on stage. Some of us are better as interviewers than we are as interviewees. Some of us are good when it's just us and a camera. Some of us are good when we're being followed around. The problem is when you're trying to be like everyone else and you don't know your lane. I remember seeing a speaker on stage once. He was brilliant on stage, but every time he turned the camera on, he didn't know how to be interesting because that wasn't his vibe. And I said to him, just video yourself on stage, cut it up, and start putting on the internet because you're brilliant on stage. And so, I think a lot of us don't figure out the format that suits us. We're trying to follow the trend, and that doesn't work because you may not flourish in that environment. Oh my god, that that that was so good. I wrote it down as quick as I can. Thank god I'll have the recording of this. But that was it's such a great self filter, right? When you look at your own video, you go, I'm glad I did that. But is it does it have one of these five things? Did we make someone feel? That is so valuable and that only comes after years of doing it, years of obsessing on it, reading, studying, practicing. So, thank you for thank you for that wisdom. So, good. Um, last question. You know, the people that are here today are at a place where they say, "Can I really turn my life experience, my skill, my passion, the thing I obsess over? Could I really turn that into a business?" Some are wondering if do I really have enough? Could I really create a business that was filled with passion? What would you say to someone who's like, "I I I think I can do this. Maybe I should do this." uh what what would now that you're on the other side of being in this world, what would you say to them? I would say you have to do something to become better at it. Don't wait till you're perfect or brilliant at it. And I think that's the biggest lesson that I have learned through this whole process is the process makes you better and the process creates perfection in the way that you want it. But waiting to accumulate perfection before you do something means someone else will try it and probably get it right before you do. So, um I think do before you I would say even do before you think too much. Like as soon as you get an idea, just act on it. As soon as you decide that this crazy idea could be something, figure out what the process is and start with step one. I think don't wait till you have everything in the basket before you give it a go. Yeah, I love that. I love that. And Dean, just to add to that, I'd say really truly care about the 10 followers you have, the 100 followers you have. Like, ask them questions, understand their needs, get to know them. You can only build something that helps people if it helps one person, right? There's a reason why companies that are serving millions of people across the world can do that is because they figured out what people needed, when they needed it, how they wanted it. And so the more we start to learn through our community, even if it's 10 people, you could have a really successful business serving 10 people properly, right? I think we often feel like building something means I've got to have millions of followers. I've got to have millions of views. And it's like that's great if it comes, but you can have an amazing business serving 10, 20, 30 customers, maybe serving 50 customers. And so I think you can actually have a successful business starting much smaller than you believe. And your passion truly can be a business if you're willing to get to know people. If you're willing to care, if you're willing to research and sit with them and understand their challenges, their stresses, and their pains. All I can say is thank you. I hope all of you at home have been taking notes like crazy. Jay, Rody, thank you for coming by. Thank you for coming by and inspiring and sharing. It's been incredible what you guys have done. I'm so glad you shared your life experiences, your passions, and so glad you turned it into a business. Everybody, could we please give a huge thank you and light up the chat for Jay and Rody? Thank you so much, J. Yeah, thanks for having us. Thank you so much. [Applause] [Music] [Music] I see you [Music] Ash. So good. Hey Dan, rocking it out again today. I see you, Linda, Debbie, Steve, what's going on? Jenny's rocking it out. I see you, Joy. what's happening. I love those two. Light up the chat so they know. H how cool. Um couple I you know things that really stand out. What if they never shared their gifts, right? Think about it. A monk and somebody who's a nutritionist. That's not the path that they thought. They just found something that called to them. Like I don't think anybody starts and says someday I'm going to be in this business. I think you're called. you're pulled to this industry. Who's feeling a calling or a pull to this industry when you watch what's possible, right? And I I was thinking about it. What if they never shared their gifts? But then I was thinking, what if you never share yours? There's people waiting right now for you to share your experience and maybe they can't hear it from anybody but you. When you start thinking through that lens, it starts to feel like an obligation to share what you know to help people go faster, doesn't it? a fun obligation, right? Um, a couple of things. Um, I love what Rody said. Um, just do it. Don't wait for perfection because the perfection comes when you're already in. She said, "Almost do and act before you think." Isn't that really similar to what Jillian said yesterday? Just do move. Like I think we're all waiting for the epiphany like, "Oh, it's perfect now. I see a Gio Gio with your little daughter there. You might be thinking, "Oh, when the kids are a perfect age and the time is a perfect right and the sun's setting perfectly." A right. That's like having kids. If you waited till everything was perfect, we have kids. None of us would have them. Right? And when you realize once you have them, the time you did was perfect. I love that saying, and it's worn out, but I say it all the time. When's the best time to plant a tree? Probably like five years ago. When's the second best time to plant a tree? Today. So maybe it was better. Maybe you should have started this your own thing five years ago. Can't go back. So who cares? Maybe there was lessons in there that the universe needed you to learn. So why not now? So good. Everybody having a good morning? All right. You ready for some lesson? Before I'm going to get into my first lesson of the day. Um but I have a question for you and this usually gets some mixed answers, but I I love to ask this. I' I've been asking it for decades now. But does money solve problems? Put in the chat. Does money solve problems? Yeah, it's usually about 5050. Yes and no. Yes. No. No. No. Yes. Yes. Sometimes. So, this is the way I like to think of it. Could making more money maybe retire your parents or end an unfulfilling or a horrible job that your spouse or someone you love has or you have. Maybe you make sure your kids are okay when you're gone no matter what happens to the world. Maybe you eat healthier. Maybe you have finally have time to work on you and the stuff you dealt with when you were a kid. You see, I think sometimes we think money is evil. Money is not evil unless it's earned e earned unethically and then spent in a bad way. But when you earn money ethically and you share it in a great way, it's what makes this world rise. I I heard somebody say once um if you don't think money creates happiness, then you haven't given enough away. Isn't that a cool Isn't that a cool? Yeah, I see a joy. You're like, "Oo, right. Isn't that a good one? If you don't think it creates happiness, then you haven't given enough away." So, I I have shifted my thoughts. I love being partners with Tony. I mean, if you knew what this guy does behind the scenes when when the fires happened in California here in the States, if you're not in the States, we had horrible fires. Tony calls me out of the blue and says, "Hey, there's a lot of wealthy people that can afford to go some places. A lot of houses were lost. They don't even have money for Airbnb. Hey, could we uh why don't we send a million dollars over to Airbnb and give credits to people who can't afford it." Like, let's do it. Like, I'm not saying that to He did most of it. I I I did a big portion of it. He did. He did even more on top of that. When you realize that if you have the opportunity to grow and impact, we could talk about we did earlier. You could do both. you could create income, have a better life for yourself while simultaneously doing well for others. And I know that's the kind of group I have here, right? Who'd like to do well so you could do good for others as also, right? So when we talk about money, I like to get it out of the way because if money does solve problems and sales creates money, that means that selling solves problems. And I like to think through that lens as we start today because I think I can make you fall in love with selling in the next 20 minutes. Who would like to fall in love with selling in the next 20 minutes? Right. I want to give you a little perspective. Maybe you could share with me. You could put yes in the screen if you could put no if you want to. But who's glad you're here? What has already impacted you? Did you learn something from myself or Jillian or Tony or Jay and Rody or something we shared yesterday? Who's glad that we got you here, right? But the truth is, and I want you to hear me this, even though there's a lot of value, we still had to market and persuade you to get here. You guys saw an ad, you got an email, somebody suggested you come here, we posted on social. So, even though it excites us for you to be here, because we know an event like this could change your life forever. I told you I can read your future. For the people who go all in, you could be one step ahead, not two steps behind. As much as we love this, did we still have to persuade you to come? Yes or no? Right. And I'm glad we did because if we didn't, what if you missed this? That would have been a way bigger disservice if we didn't go find you and get you to attend. I love what we do here. So therefore, I love marketing and I love sales because I can get you to say yes to a bigger future. Who'd like to have that commitment? So you know what you're doing changes lives that you feel bad if you don't get a yes, right? All right, let's get to lesson number one. You guys ready to do some work? Okay, how to fasttrack your first sale, next sale, and then consistent sales, right? So depending where you are right now, it really doesn't matter on this journey. Could be brand new, part-time. You're in this business, you're ready to scale. We're all on the same journey. So this should bring all of us together. You're either want you'll want to get your first sale and after your first sale you get next sales and then you make it consistent sales. So let's start by showing you how to find your ideal client. But first got to share a little story from my childhood. I grew up in this little town in upstate New York. It was a farm town. Most people don't think of New York, if you're not from the if you're not from upstate New York, you think of New York as just the city, but it's a huge farm state once you get out of the city. And I grew up in this little farm. I remember having a conversation with a farmer, his name was Mark. And he was talking about how his business is successful. And it's really been the foundation for me for so many businesses I've created. It was wisdom from an amazing farmer, right? And uh those farmers, you got to watch them. They're they're they're amazing. They seem like they're a shucks. They're some of the best businessmen on the planet. But anyway, he explained to me that there's different kinds of crops. There's a quick crop, and he said that was lettuce. He said, ' That's when we want to put cash in the money or put cash in the bank, money in the bank kind of quick, especially when we're kicking off the spring. We haven't done much all winter. If we plant lettuce, we can plant it every 20 days. So every 20 days, they plant it, harvest it, plant it, harvest it. They get five or six turns over a summer. I you're like, I didn't come here to be a farmer, but I promise this is all going to make sense, right? So lettuce is like the quick cash, like the the bring some money in. Does it make sense? And then he said secondly, a little more reliable and more money is summer corn. Summer corn is really reliable and we can get two turns. Mean they can plant it in the spring, harvest it in the middle of summer, plant again and harvest in the fall, right? But then the long-term success was apple trees. Because an apple tree, you plant an apple tree, it looks like this pen. It looks like a stick. A year and a half later, there's no tree. There's no apples. You got to be in for the long haul. But once an apple tree starts producing apples, it does for a hundred years. And that's where the combination of success lives. And some of the things, the reason I wanted to share that because we get confused sometimes thinking something is lettuce, but it's actually an apple tree. Right? If we planted an apple tree on Monday, 20 days later, if we're used to lettuce and we look out and say, "Not one apple on those trees. Somebody go mow them down. They're broken. They're useless." Some of us approach social media that way. I posted a video two weeks ago. I am not viral. I am never doing this again. Right? It's not lettuce. It's an apple tree. I see you Denise laughing. Right? But I wanted to share that analogy because it will really help with uh this first lesson. So let's talk about the different ways to find your ideal client. Right? So yesterday we talked about what you were going to share, who you were going to share it with, how you could deliver it, what are some of the teaching topics you could teach, how Gigi could help you with all of it. Now, we got to go find the people that want it. So, let's go over the whiteboard. Again, I did a lot of whiteboard stuff this year. I hope it's landing for you guys. But if you think about a marketplace, okay, that's your first one. A marketplace and they are growing. In fact, we'll talk about ours here in a little bit, but a marketplace to me is like lettuce, right? Think of Amazon for books, right? Or say Etsy for a product. There's already books there. There's already product there. And people are going to that site looking for things. True. So these are marketplaces online where you could sell your course, your coaching product, your mastermind, your group, etc. because people are already going there looking for it. Again, I'll give you some examples of this later on. But people already go there because they want a knowledge product, right? Let me give you an example. This is a this is a prime example. This is Jessica. She's one of our students. She suffered from camera phobia. She had anxiety and panic around cameras. Isn't it cool? Sometimes you go through a mess, it becomes your message. Well, after years of practicing, getting herself over her own fears. She got so good of it, good at it that she started teaching others how to be better on video. She launched a course and got her first sale on the mastermind marketplace. We'll talk about that more in a moment. In record time, now she's up to 775 sales because she got in front of a marketplace where people are already going there looking. And I truly believe this is getting more and more popular. In fact, we have a quick little clip from Jessica that she just sent in. I thought it'd be cool to play it. It was August 4th, 2022, just a random day, and I woke up and I got an email, purchase performed. I made a sale. Now, I had launched my course about a month prior on uh July 5th. And so I was waiting for this moment and I didn't expect this feeling which was well first I was very excited right but it all clicked because I had made money overnight to somebody in a different country and I was like wait I mean I can make money while I'm sleeping and my storefront is worldwide after years of being an entertainment reporter. and having to show up to get paid. I could produce one thing and get paid on it repeatedly. This was an incredible idea. Well, she's obviously good on camera now, Jessica. Thank you. I know you're watching today. Isn't that an amazing story? And again, I'm not saying you put a you put your site on a marketplace and then your your you know, your keyboard becomes a cash machine. You got to go through the process. But when she did and she put it on a marketplace where people are already going, the sales started. So that's why we called it lettuce. Okay. Next. Does that make sense? Marketplaces. We'll talk more about them in a little bit and where to find them. The next one is your warm network. I said this yesterday, but when you love something, do you love to share it? You guys ever have a great meal? You ever share a great raise your hand if you share a great meal or a restaurant with a friend or raise your hand if it would be a book or a movie. Oh my god, you got to see this movie. Makes you laugh, makes you cry. Do you share that? Well, when you fall in love with your product, is it hard to talk about or easy to talk about, right? Isn't it easy? You can't shut up about it. But it's not as complicated as you think to tap into your warm network because it's not just who you know, it's also who they know. See, now that you have your solution statement, it's easier than you could ever imagine to utilize your warm network and their friends. It's incredibly simple. Pick someone. Pick someone you think could benefit from what you have to offer. They most likely know others who could benefit from the same thing. And then send them an email or a text or or, you know, FaceTime message, right? In fact, here I'd like you to bring Hold on. Let's do this. Bring this up if you could. This is a a message that I wrote and we got this from one of our students. I'm going to share here in a minute. Right? So, think about this. And this was this was a a student of ours that sent this exact message. Hey Emily, if you're do I hope you're doing amazing. I'm excited to see you next week at our son's swim meet. I'm reaching out because I'm not sure if you heard, but I recently started a new venture. This was not a guy. This was one of our uh ladies who has a business helping others through menopause. She said, "I help women over 50 navigate menopause with more eids while avoiding the common struggles and setbacks that can come with it." And I was just curious, would you happen to know of anyone who's over 50 who's dealing with menopause and might be looking for a simple, helpful way to do this? Now, who could see themselves sending out a message like that, right? Something you're really passionate about, right? And and let me just say, put in the chat. Put in the chat where you think you could find somebody to do that, right? Could you Is it friends and family? Could it be colleagues or an alumni group? How about a former co-orker or former boss, church or spiritual communities, right? Parents from kids that you go to school with or school activities. I want neighbors in local communities, hobby group, meetup groups, fitness groups, seeing people at the gym. Look at all these great things coming in where you could get more reliable sales because when you produce something great, it spreads. Somebody gets results, they go, "Oh my god, dealing with Dan changes everything. Dealing with Gia or Fernandez or Bruce or Stephen or Gilbert when I oh my god, I got their thing in it shift. Look at this. Social media, church, friends and family, my ladies group, right? The importance of networking, friends of the community and neighbors groups and Saturday breakfast." So when people talk about, listen, I can't wait for you to scale. I can't wait for you to be doing thousands of sales all over the world on a regular basis. But when you start getting momentum, when you start making sales, everything changes. Now that letter, I just wrote it. We just, you know, had it quick. We took some one of our students. But you could write that same simple thing. Take Nate for example. If you can pull this up. Nate got laid off during COVID. He was in sales. He said, 'What am I going to do? I'm home. He decided to create a coaching program to help other sales managers. Didn't know where to st start because he wasn't an influencer. He said no one knew his name. So, he reached out to a business owner. Well, he reached out to a lot of them and finally got one person to give him a recommendation. In fact, he sent us a quick video as well. I think this is great. You're going to love this. Watch Nate. So, back in March of 2020, it was actually on my birthday, March 26th. Um, I got laid off from my job and we had just found out a couple days before that my wife was pregnant for the first time since we had gone through a really tough miscarriage a few years before. And I didn't want to add any additional stress. I didn't want to add any additional pressure. So, I did the only thing I knew how to do. I reached out to my warm network. And so here's the cool thing. You may be thinking that in order to thrive, you have to have everything. You have to have the camera, you have to have the mic, you have to have the studio, all the great stuff, all the great ideas. But we started literally with a craft piece of paper. And this piece of paper right here, I actually keep in my gym as a reminder that you can start small, that you can start simple, that it doesn't need to be complex. Because this craft piece of paper paper here is literally a list of actions that I was going to do every single day based off of what I was learning from Dean and Tony. And that warm network I mentioned is right here. I had a bigger list, but these were the top 10, the top five, six, seven, however many it is there that I was going to reach out to. And you can see this second one on the list actually has an X on it because that was the person who said yes. That was that first person that when I reached out and I said, "This is the type of person I'm looking to help. This is the type of outcome I'm looking to get them. Do you know anybody that would be interested?" He said, "Yes." And he connected me with his VP and that person put me in front of their sales team and I trained the very first team that I trained on my own. Now that team introduced me to more people and those people introduced me to more people and that one warm network that I started with turned into a sixf figureure business. Is that amazing or what? I watch that. It make puts makes the hair stand up on my arms. And sometimes you have to have your back against the wall to do it. But what I'd say is I'd like to shake you and go. You don't have to have your back against the wall to live into who you're meant to be. Right? I've had the chance to get to know Nate and he's just such an awesome human. I love his little daughter. His wife is amazing. It's incredible that these are strangers that were on a screen just like this and someday they end up either at the office or you see them at an event. So, do you see how between having a marketplace have marketplace especially a good marketplace where people are already going and then tapping into the warm network. Raise your hand if tapping into your warm network isn't scary at all anymore. Right. You you listed all the places. So what I'd say is before we go on to this third one, I would write down the first place that you are going to or the first person or the first place you're going to reach out to once your product is ready. Okay, you should write that down. Now the third one, right, we talked about consistent sales, right? If we go from kind of lettuce and and summer corn, I like to think of this as apple trees. Even though it can happen quick, it builds year after year. You might get a couple apples right away, but an apple tree grows and gets bigger. Believe me, I I I like talking about apple trees because they were everywhere I grew up, right? As a kid, I used to just sit in apple trees and eat them so much until my stomach hurt, right? But what's good about social media is that you got a million eyeballs and people are already going there. What's bad about it is most people don't know how to attract the person that could learn from you. That's just the only problem. The eyeballs are there, the connections are there. billions of people around the world, they're there. So, I want to give you a little training here. Let's do a little work. It's called three eyes. Three eyes. You ready? First, once you know your solution statement, once you narrow down your dot, we call it your niche, right? The the person that lives in that dot from yesterday, you know, we narrow it down, that's your what we call your ideal client. That's the person most likely to go, heck, I need this, right? We talk about we talked about menopause before. It's not just women. It's not just women going through menopause. It's women going through menopause that want to heal it naturally and want to work on things naturally, right? We talk about all the different ways, right? Nate, he wasn't just looking for salespeople. He was looking for sales managers who wanted him to come in and coach their team, right? So, we narrow it down. But then what happens sometimes when we go on social media, we have too many messages. The first I is intrigue them. Intrigue. If we want to attract people that could eventually want our product, then we have to intrigue them in that area. Sometimes people go on social and one day it's a picture of food, one day a picture of your family, one day a picture of your kids, one day it's date night, one day it's a travel, it's this. It's so spread out that it's not specific enough. You can alter a little. But if you have an area that you know you can help people in, then say and share things intriguing. Share how to make the first sale, how to feel healthier, how to quit smoking, how to speak the language, how to do the thing, how to be better at hair, how to start the accounting business, how to find purpose again after children. Right? If you start intriguing them, then people start going, "Oh, I like this." And I do what J Shetty did. shared. You heard what Jay shared. Pick one. Pick one outlet. Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok. Just pick one for now. And you're going to create that intriguing message. And if you start, remember, it's apple trees. It's not it's not coming in quick. It might take a little while, but when you start putting out intriguing information, I promise people are going to find you. And then they're going to tell their friends who tell their friends. And it's going to start to grow. And then people are going to say, "Hey, that was awesome." So the next eye once they say that was awesome. The next eye is interact with them. It's interact. You intrigued them with something you shared. They said it was cool. Now say, "Oh, glad you liked it. What? How come this landed with you? What are you going through? What are your goals?" So now you intrigued them. You interact with them. And the third thing is you invite them. Invite them. You invite them to check out your course, to check out your coaching program, to go look at your YouTube channel, your Facebook. If you intrigue, interact, then the third eye is to say, "Come, go." Call to action, invite them. Does that make sense? So, if you've ever tried on social media and it hasn't worked, I would bet to say you just weren't focused enough, right? you were trying a lot of things and maybe you did a couple. It's like you planted a couple apple trees here and a couple there and they didn't produce fruit so you just mowed them down, right? Find some consistency. And here's the cool part. The next evolution of consistent sales. See, here's what I love about this. All three of these would cost you zero money to acquire that client. It's before you spend a dollar in advertising. That's the strategy. I know some of you already in this game. That means you got to polish the diamond here. But this is how you guys can get proof of concept and start having sales coming in without spending a dollar. But eventually this social media triple eye formula will produce certain videos that get more traction, they get more likes, they get more interaction. True. Anybody have a post even on even if you got 10 followers, one that gets more than anything else, right? Do we all have that? And do we all have social media? Raise your hand if you have social media. I want to see if you're awake today. Is anybody not raising their hand? Right? We all have social media, right? Well, just think about this. As you're posting within your niche, eventually some are going to get more traction. Guess what they become eventually? They become your ads. If you're going to spend money, you spend the money on the ones that get the most traction. Does that make sense? Let's play. Pull this slide up. Olga uh she um once petrified of social media which a lot of people are. I get that. But she had a passion in meditation. She always believed in her ability to help others but doubted anyone would listen to her. With the help of our team, she crafted a solution statement and then she hit posts for the first time with her three eye uh strategy and after a few days, well, she got a couple apples right away. In fact, we got a one last quick video here of Olga. I was never on the social media before. I only was registered, had an account, and was just a reader. I never posted because I was petrified of social media. So, having that very narrow dot and having that solution statement that we crafted helped me go out into the world. I was petrified when I hit the post button. And I did get I get two real life clients. Before that, I had mostly clients from my network, people who I knew, but those were two brand new clients based on my posting. I was I was excited and petrified all at the same time. I love that. Who could see the excitement and petrified all at the same time? We had someone on last year. She came on and she came on live. We called her up and we'll do some live stuff uh in the next couple days. But she said her first time she made a post, she hit submit and she slammed down her computer and ran physically ran out of her house. She's like, "Frances, Francesca, I see you laughing." She physically uh I see you guys all laughing. She physically ran out of her house and she walked the neighborhood for like 15 minutes. She's like, "I'm not looking. I'm not looking." And the cool part for her, she she opened it up and she had she was doing a a class and she had three of people that she knew registered for the class like and you know what one of them said to her? It's about time you're doing this. How freaking cool is that? Sometimes that all that fear, all that BS lives in here. Other people are waiting for you to do it. Right. So I I just love that from Olga. Thank you for sharing. But guys, can can you see how finding the right marketplace, tapping into your warm network and the people they know and start with social media, you see how that could start producing sales for the people who need and want what you have. Say yes if that's true, right? But I'm so excited to share something with you cuz boy have things changed. Social media has always been a great place to get started. Always a great place to plant the seeds, to plant the apple trees. But let's be honest, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. What pictures, what headlines, what should I say, where should I post, what time of day should I post? So, we are always looking for cutting cutting edge technology for us. Like, how do we go faster? How do we do things better? If you've seen my social lately, I think it's it's exponentially growing. It's getting better and better. And I didn't used to go so obsessive on it because there's technology that can allow us to what took a long time in the past can take minutes now. And uh I just want to give you guys a glimpse of where the world is going, especially when it comes to things like social media. Can we play that video? Most people don't fail at social media because they don't have great ideas. They fail because they don't have a plan, a process, or the time to execute it all. They're stuck in the old way. But what if there was a new way? The truth is that visibility, influence, and impact aren't just about posting more. It's about posting the right content in the right way with the right strategy. But what if it was this simple? What if you could just answer a few simple questions about your business and your brand? An AI could build your entire strategy, automatically choosing the best platforms, best posting times, and best content types based on your goals and who will resonate the most. What if there was a social media co-pilot that automatically generated image posts that are beautifully designed with captions and hashtags, carousel posts, the step-by-step tips and eye-catching layouts, short form video clips with engaging text overlays and autogenerated subtitles, and even hookd driven captions designed for maximum engagement. And then all you do is click one you like, hit approve, and then it's sent over to your social media planner for scheduling and automatic posting. And what if for the first time content creation could feel effortless? What used to take hours, days, or even weeks is now possible in a fraction of the time. Because now you're on the cutting edge with the right tools and the right strategy to make it [Music] happen. Isn't that so freaking cool that this this is the this is where we are? I mean, you got to understand something. And if this is new to you, imagine something that you spent every day of your life, almost 30 years, geeking out on, which I have, Tony, for 46 years, geeking out on this industry and how to make impact. And all of a sudden, there's these two new freaking tools that allow you to get more impact, change more lives, get in front of more people, and cover those weaknesses. I mean, literally what we're trying to help people do. And when you see that, and don't worry, I'm going to share with you later how you could be using that tonight. No, no stress. Don't go look for it. I we did all the research. But how cool is it that the more we can utilize guidance and technology to drive back to us personally because here's what I know AI can be the tool to allow you go to go faster but it's not going to replace you. It's not going to replace the human touch the personal story that you have. So if you can use it to bring more people to your personal experience oh my gosh all it does is just amplify what we all do. Cool. Who's excited about what's possible? I know I might geek out at more than you, but it's been a long time and watching this is so cool. So, now that you see where you can find your ideal client, your first sale, next sale, consistent sales. We talked about that on the board. Now, it's time to understand how to get them to enthusiastically and ethically to say yes. And I broke this down into what I'm calling the Y method. So, you guys ready for lesson number two? Who's ready for lesson number two? Raise your hand. Come on. I know it's learning. I know it's not as exciting as Tony pulling all the amazing emotions into your heart, but this is the stuff we got to do to actually make the money and make the impact. Okay, lesson number two. How do you get people to say yes through the yes method? Now, before I get right into it, we talked earlier about how sales can solve problems, right? And then once you understand how to sell through service, you're going to realize anything is possible. But I I I I want to soften a little by saying a few things. What if Gandhi never sold the world on the concept of nonviolent real uh resistance? What if Oprah never never sold people on personal growth or the power of self-belief, right? What if Steve Jobs never sold a future no one could even see when he thought of Apple? I want you to think of selling again like that favorite book or movie that can change lives. is when you know something changes someone's life, you should be you should have no hesitation. In fact, you should feel bad about not sharing it. When you follow what I'm about to share with you, you'll realize that not selling and not getting a yes is actually the biggest disservice of them all. And why would you hide your impact or your legacy, right? You put on this earth for more, right? Because if if you don't share, if you don't market, if you don't take the strategies to get a yes, not only will life stay the same, but only two things can happen to your future ideal client. You see, if you don't share your message, your story, your skill, then maybe they do nothing and their life remains the same. Or worse yet, they buy from someone who doesn't care. These are the things I think about. I know what Tony and I create is the best. So, I'm doing you a disservice if I don't get you to this event. a disservice if you don't work with us because either you do nothing or maybe you buy somebody down the street and they don't care as much as us. When you realize selling is service, the byproduct will be a business that's impactful, a business that grows, and a business that gives you success. So, let's dive into the yes message. So, the first why, the yes method I should say, the first why is your message matters. Number one, I'll go through these fairly quick, but I want you to when I lay these out, I want you to think about the difference between science and art. Okay? So, follow me back over here. To me, this is the science. This is the delivery systems. This is where you find your ideal people. They're already hanging out here. They want what you have. They're already hanging out here. So, that's the science. Does that make sense? Now, I want to teach you the art. The art is the messaging. The art is the thing to get people to go, "Yes, I want to work with you, Karen. I want to work with you." Right? So, pull this slide up. The first one is enter conversations already in their mind. So, what does this mean? Meet people where they are. They're already having conversations. If they're your ideal client, they're already they're already talking about it. They already think about it. And you got to remember, you got to meet people in the area of what they want. We'll talk more about that in a moment. But you got to enter their conversation. Sometimes we just have our own conversation. So, what I'd say is go hang out where your ideal client is. I bet you there's a Facebook group, there's a community, there's a social media, there's something where your future clients hang out. see what they're saying so you can meet them where they are. Is that clear enough? I'm hoping that was clear enough. Makes sense. Thanks, Tanya. Number two, this was a big one. This one changes my literally changed my life. This is how you take away feeling like a salesman and feel like someone who can't wait to serve because people buy from you when they understood. When they feel understood, not when they understand you. I want you to hear that. People buy from you when they feel understood. Have you ever watched a speaker or a presenter or maybe a podcast and you really were like you watched what they said you're like that's cool they did cool stuff but you didn't feel inspired you didn't feel connected with them you just were you know good job right a boy but did you ever watch another speaker or someone talking and you feel like they're reading your journal at night they feel like they understand your pain they understand what you're going through right Tony Robbins did that to me 30 years ago his wife like I know I thank you. You got me. Are you reading my journal at night? Like is it online? There was no online but you know what I'm saying. So you really need to let people feel understood. Again, you're going to meet them where they are. You're going to enter conversations in their mind and let them feel understood like I got you. I know what it feels like to go through menopause. I know what it feels like to have trauma as a child. I know what it feels like after you give birth and you feel like your life isn't yours anymore. I know what it's like the first day on the job of wanting to sell and you don't know what to do first. I know what it's like to be an accountant and you want to start your own accounting business, but you don't know where to start first. I know you let people go, "Oh, that's because people aren't buying your expertise. They're buying your experience." Make sense? I know we're going through this kind of quick. This is the art. And the last one, because your message matters, sell them what they want, but make sure to also deliver what they need. Think about this. Um, if you want somebody to start a business and they've never done it before, they need all the business plans. True. But do they also need a certain mindset to go from career to solo entrepreneur? Do you need a shift in mindset? I see you, Audrey. Right? Raise your hand and say yes if you know you need a shift in mindset. Right? If you want to go from not working out to working out six days a week, you could have the gym. You could have the strap. You could have all the stuff. But do you also need a different shift in your mindset to go from no working out to six, seven days a week. True. But if you said to people, hey, I could help you in business by shifting your mindset. I could help you get in better shape by shifting your mindset. No, that's not what they want. They want to be in better shape. They want to start the business. Make sense? So sometimes we have to sell them what they want, but you still want to always deliver what they need to really empower them. I hope that one landed with you guys, right? You want to you want to basically you just want to give people what they want and what they need, right? Your kids just want sweets, but they also need broccoli and and really healthy food. So sometimes you, you know, sometimes you make the healthy protein pancake, you put a little maple syrup on it because that's what they want, but they're getting the nutrition in the pancake. That's the best way I could describe. I should have just said give put maple syrup on the pancake. Dark chocolate syrup on broccoli. Hey, if it works, right? So number one in the yes message, your message matters. Just meet them where they are. Let them feel understood. Give them what they want and what they need. Make sense? Number two, elevate your offer. Elevate your offer. Could you turn the air down a degree? I'm getting warmed up in here. It's getting it's getting hot. Number two, uh, elevate your offer. Number one is know their problems and in assist in solving them. Now, it was a little bit little bit redundant, but more this is where we want to go to another level. We want to elevate what you do by really understanding the problem you're trying to solve. Yesterday, you guys did a solution statement. Isn't it cool that we all have the opportunity to run a business that solves other people's problems, right? Most of what you guys do, you're solving a problem someone else has that you probably once had and you got through it, right? But we really need to show them that we want to assist in solving that problem. So, I would say know your ideal client better than anyone else. know what drives them nuts, what keeps them up at night, what are they worried about, and help them solve it. Can I give you a little secret? Usually, it's just you of a few years ago or maybe a decade ago. A lot of times, our ideal client is just us earlier on in life. Make sense? Okay, next one. If you know the problem that they you solve for them, the next one is know their dreams and their goals and help fuel them, right? Just think about yesterday. Whatever your solution statement is, you can help solve that problem. But when some people get away from the problem, the next thing they want is their dreams and their goals. Just know them. Just know their dreams. Know their goals. Their dreams could be to play piano. It could be to cut hair better. It could be a million things. We had someone who ran a class on how teaching people how to paint with wolves. Painting calm wolves a little and she she had wolves lay next to people while they were painting. That ended up being her business. She knew their dreams were to be painters in a calm way. She found a cool way. Hey, her retreat sold out. I wouldn't go paint with wolves, but I give her so much credit, right? She knew the problem she was solving. She knew the dreams that they had. And then the last one is make it so irresistible that people feel silly saying no. And when I really boiled that down, when I wrote that one, I thought about it. What does that mean? And I think these are all the things I think through. And remember, you're not going to master this art with me just sharing. I want you to just give you some insight of what took me 30 years to figure out. What it really means is just create something you wish you had. Just create something you wish you had. When people say, "Should I add this?" I don't know. Annie, would you have wanted it? Right? Barbara, would you have wanted it? Cassandra, would you have wanted it? Right? Teresa, would you have wanted it? That's the that's the greatest gift for me. Don't just add add. Put the things that you need. Right? So, step two is elevate it and make it irresistible. And then the third one is sell through service. sell through service. Thank you, Nigel. Thank you, Tim. Thank you, Stina. Right. This one I I It might sound a little too foofoo, maybe too fluffy for some of you, but my life changed forever when I started feeling this way. To fall in love with your customer. Think about it. I hope you can feel my caring and and the way I try to deliver with the best version of me. I hope you feel it with Tony. feel it with Jay. You feel it with everyone. When you fall in love with your client, when you fall in love with your customer, you step up everything that you do. You don't become a salesperson. You have you just become someone that's passionate about what you do. Think if you were selling something to a stranger or selling somebody you loved, your mom, your sister, your brother, your cousin. You you just you just do it in a different way. And you don't if you're trying to sell your parents to stop smoking, you are enthusiastic. You're energetic. You're doing everything in your power to get them to stop something that could hurt them or if you want them to get in better shape and you're trying to sell them to do it. You do it differently when you're in love with them, don't you? Is that true? Do you act differently? Do you talk differently when you care? So, why not put that cast of emotions and love on top of the people you want to serve because you will treat them better? And when you fall in love with your customer, then the next thing to do is fall in love with the product or service. I if you notice, there's a pattern. And I keep tearing the same thing because if you fall in love with it, you don't it it's not even like, oh, I need to talk about it. You can't shut up about something that you love. If you know it does the thing that people need, you're not going to have to think of a sales tactic, right, Tina? If you know that you can help somebody fall back in love or find intimacy in their relationship again and you find people that lost their intimacy and they're about to break up a family and you can fix it. Oh my god, you're like, "Hey, wait." Like you're so excited. You like, "I got this. We can do this." Right? It's not like, "Hey, let me figure out my sales pitch." Right? So, this is this is the secret that most people don't get. Most people are looking for the the overcoming objections and how to sell hard and all those things come in their own spot. But when you fall in love with your customer, oh, fall in love with your product or service. And then lastly, fall in love with their outcomes and their results. Now, this is the last secret of it because if you fall in love with their outcomes and then the results they get, then it's a it's a it's a crucial loop back to all the things how you talk about it in a marketplace and how you talk about it in a warm network and how you talk about it on social media because you know if people actually do the thing that you did because of your experience, not always your expertise, just I was there, I'm over here, I went through the maze, you don't have to. Then when you fall in love with that and you see the results, that's the part I was telling Jillian yesterday, then you actually feel bad not selling them. You feel bad not selling them. Is it making sense? I'm going to give you a real life example of this one that really hit home. This is a cool story. Um, bring this up if if you could. This is way back when Tony and I first started, probably five years ago. Uh, you know, seven I first started in this industry helping people like we're doing here. This probably five years ago. And Jamie Fali, I didn't know her at the time. She created a system on how to heal eczema and five steps. I think that's what it was. Um, but one thing to know is I had the opportunity to do a hot seat with with Jamie in an event just like this. And who knew the future that I'll tell you here. Again, I I love, like I said, I can predict your future if you stay in the game, right? But long story short, I had a call and she's like, "But who am I to share this? I'm not a nurse. I'm not a doctor." She's like, "I'm not an expert." So-called expert. I'm like, "Well, tell me your story." But she had an expertise. She had experience because her son suffered from ex eczema really bad and the steroids and all the stuff they were giving him, she just couldn't handle it. She wanted to do it naturally, right? And she she obsessed on the healing the gut and what to put on the skin and what what shampoo and what deodorant and all all the stuff that she used. She she really obsessed to make her son okay? And I'm like, who would somebody want to learn from? An a so-called expert or a mom who spent every day doing it. So, that was a a conversation we had. Who would have known that? Probably a year after. That's our little boy, Luca. And that's when he was first born. and he's five now, but he was born with severe eczema so bad that we had to put gloves on him. If anybody knows anybody with eczema at night, he would rip his face up, rip his arms up, right? And um you know, and as a parent and I feel great, we have great resources. You try everything to solve it. True, right? We would do anything for our kids and we tried everything and we were making some progress for sure making progress and my wife made it her absolute mission. But I got to tell you, one day I came home and my wife was watching Jamie because she went and bought her course. My wife's like, "Hey, I was on the mastermind platform and I bought this woman Jamie's course." She goes, "I knew a lot of it, but babe, I didn't know." And she had a paper next to her. I didn't know this. I didn't know this. I'm going to check into this. Talk about a full circle moment. And it makes me think about what if Jamie what if I didn't get the chance to have a hot seat with Jamie that day. I don't know if she would have done it and it would have actually been a disservice to my kids to other kids because she discovered cool stuff along her mess. She was on her own journey. She had her own mess and she learned things that allowed my wife to go faster. So when I see this story I think about oh my gosh all of you I'm watch all these beautiful faces. Each of you have an experience that can allow someone to go faster. Now, my little boy Luca, now we have our I I just an excuse to show my family, but that's my little boy Luca now. He's five. And my little girl Vita, she has eczema, too, but not as bad as her brother. That's my whole family. Just an excuse to show my family that I love so much. But the fact of the matter is, you have something right now that can allow somebody to shortcut their life. And when you love something, don't you want to share it? Don't you want other people to say, "Heck yes, I'm in." And that's exactly what we get to do. We have the opportunity to do this for a living. So, let's reflect a little. Look how far we've come over the last two days, and we still got an amazing day. Matthew McConna, all kinds of great stuff. But I know I might be going a little fast, but on day one, you discovered the knowledge you're going to share and who you should share it with, right? You just discovered how you want to deliver it. your teaching topics played with Gigi on how to go faster. Again, Jillian made us realize if she could do it, anyone could do it. That you just got to start, you just got to do it. Tony got us in our hearts. And what I hoped you learned today so far, I hope you have further proof that no matter where you start, you could end up creating impact, finding purpose, and thriving on your own terms. I guarantee Jay Shetty as a monk and his wife in a nutritionist never thought that they could make the impact they have. They just had to take that first step. And yes, sometimes the first step is a little uncomfortable. And today we learned how to use marketplaces, how to use a warm network, how to use social media to find the people, the science on how to get that first sale, next sale, consistent sales. I hope what I just shared it was just a glimpse, but you can get in your heart and see the the art of selling. It's just meeting people where they are, helping solve their problems, let them feel understood, help them fuel their goals with the yes method. Listen, when you create an offer that genuinely delivers the outcome someone desires, sales truly becomes the highest form of service. You're actually doing people a disservice by not making an offer to them. Are you guys feeling that? Are you seeing that? Jamie would have done a disservice if we didn't buy that. So, let me ask you, who in here went from can I do this to I think I have to do this? Let me know if you went from a can I to I have to. Look at all those hands. I love it. Who sees that you're not just allowed to play bigger, you're actually called to play bigger. You could start, scale, or add a knowledge product into your business, into your current life, and build something that's fun, that's fulfilling, and something that's finally yours. And remember yesterday I said if you've tried something and you failed or you felt afraid to even begin, it doesn't mean you're a failure. It probably just means that you didn't have the guidance. You didn't have the plan. You didn't have a tool. You were missing the ingredients for success. You didn't get your questions answered. So therefore, you didn't move forward. And that's why we're so excited because that changes today. Listen, Tony and I have helped define this industry. And I'm proud to say that. But now we're reinventing it. We want to take away the reason people fail, the reason people don't succeed, and create a new way to thrive. It's exactly what we've done by giving you the assistance you need to confidently start. And more importantly than starting, how do you stay with them along the whole way so they don't get stuck on their journey? They don't lose momentum and then fall back in to old patterns. Listen, even if you've never done this, even if you've tried and failed and no one knows your name, this is a whole fresh start today. And what we created is totally new. It's it's it's a new philosophy. Listen, as I mentioned yesterday, we called this philosophy the guided business development. And it's in everything we create. It's we think it's a revolutionary new way of making sure you're never alone, never stuck and never unsure what to do next where everything is simplified and streamlined through our unique lens of 75 combined years leading this industry. It's if you remember my story with my mom yesterday, I said she was a badass without a blueprint. And what we created is something I wished my mom had. The blueprint to unlock your true potential, to not miss this opportunity. Listen, we all know that if we're going to achieve more success, you're going to need help. And Tony and I would be honored if that would be us. Listen, you saw this work with multiple people in the last few days, but this isn't about them. It's not about me. It's not about Tony. It's about you deciding that this is your time. This is your voice. This is your story. And that you matter. What if you never had to feel alone starting or scaling your business or waste time googling your next best move because it was crystal clear? Or you had to piece together 12 different tools just to make all these things work and rather you had the right guide with everything with with you at every turn. You could pull this up combined with a proven plan that shows what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. and the cutting edge tools you need all in one place to design, launch, and scale. It's really exciting stuff. Well, that's exactly why I'm so excited today because that's exactly what we've built for you. It's the all-new mastermind business system, and it's been completely upgraded, completely optimized with this guided business development philosophy. I'm so excited to share this with you. So, let's go through it. Let's go through it one at a time. We start with what was the first one? You need the right guide. If you're going to go up in a mountain that you've never done, wouldn't you want the sherpa? You want the guide. But I want to talk about before we got to the right guide. I want to talk about the old way. Right? The old way before things changed, before we had this opportunity, before Tony and I obsessed on it, if you could afford it, you'd have a higher qualified high-end coach. And that's great if you could afford that, especially when you're starting. If not, you're trying to navigate it on your own, trying to figure out all those pieces. And the worst part is if you get stuck on the blank screen or the blank page, trying to figure it out. And what ends up happening, you go, I'll do it tomorrow. You get lost and sometimes you quit. So, let's look at the new way. You have a brilliant partner to guide you and assist you who helps you every step of the way. You get the unfair advantage of our 76 years baked into the wisdom of an AI co-pilot with you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you never feel stuck or alone because you're not. And that is the right guide. So meet Gigi 2.0. She's your AI business partner. And here's the cool part. She asks you the right questions rather than you have to come up with the perfect ones. So you can build your business faster with certainty. She'll even build your products for you. Hear me on that. You go back and forth with Gigi and she will actually build some of your pages. She will build your sales page. She will write your emails. So, you don't have to learn some of it and you don't have to be a tech expert. We wanted to take that barrier out of your way. People said, "I get it, but I'm not sure." We program Gigi not to only think like us, but to help you achieve it. She's your 24-hour, 7-day a week guide, concier, and assistant to make sure you never get stuck. Now, I said this yesterday, but I want you to remember Gigi isn't just an AI coach. And she's not the same as Chat GBT. She's the result of our team spending the last two years building her to be your co-pilot who thinks like Tony and I. And yes, I said this yesterday, she knows our greatest secrets. So, that's the guide we were talking about. The next part is a proven plan, right? If you got the guide that can take you up, you got to have the map. You got to have the plan. So, I want to go to the old way. And this isn't knocking the old way. We've created things like this in the old way. It's before it was possible. But the old way, you bought a program or you bought a course with hours of video, but oftent times it was overwhelming. You still didn't know what to do or where to start, right? You learned a lot. But did you ever actually accomplish it? You struggled to get feedback and sometimes you quit because you felt alone. So, what's the new way? the new way. You get a proven and predictable education platform, a business plan that shows you exactly where and how to start and in the right order. You take action consistently and constantly and never get stuck in a learning loop, which we've all been in. And you got Gigi with you every step of the way. So, this is your proven plan. It's fine-tuned by our 76 years and GG 2.0. This is our worldclass education. If we if Tony and I in 76 years don't know how to do this, then we should quit, right? We poured our heart and soul into the education, but education alone is not enough. We laid it out in a proven plan that it's one step at a time. Exactly where to start, what to do next, how to do this, and in the right order. Here's the one that'll blow your mind. We took our proven marketing plans, and I think we're the best in the world at it. And you get to model what we've done using Gigi. Model our emails. This allows you to go faster with proven principles. And again, you'll interact with Gigi consistently through the entire process, building with her and she'll be building for you. I mean, in our first year, our first course was $2,000 and had none of this. It was just the course and people loved it. But that's what you get with the proven plan. So, if you have the right guide and you have the proven plan, the next is the cutting edge tools. And this is this is where the whole game changes completely because prior and when I say the old days or the old way, it wasn't five years ago. We're talking 18 months ago, you had to put together lots of different businesses to make this work. You had a tool for your website, another one for emails, another one for payments, and nine other ones. And then you had to figure out how to be when you said in the past if you said technology bugs me, it's because you had to figure those things out. Now with the new way, everything you need is built into one site into one simple platform. You never have to overpay for 12 different softwares. Your whole business lives in one place. I mean, if you could see my enthusiasm, this is a whole year of us working to take it to a whole another level because you get cutting edge tools in your business hub. The only platform you will ever need. You build your product, you attract your clients, you make your sales, you manage your entire business in one place, right? You get to run your business at a fraction of the cost with way less complexity. And remember, Gigi's there to help you interact. Even when you log in, you start with a conversation with her so she knows where you are. So you can we can meet you where you are. And besides that, we do something I don't think anybody does anymore. We spend $100,000 a month for live human support. So you got GI there, but gosh forbid you need to talk to somebody. We have experts on stand to standby to help you walk you through it and make it work. And this is a factor. I couldn't say it. We spent over $7 million and seven years to get here to create this. It's why I'm so darn excited. And if you go online and price those 12 different products, it's about $4,000 a year. True money, not just some hyped up number. If you think about it, we've just built the thing that we wished we would have had. And there's one more thing that I think's beyond cool. We aligned with an amazing company to create what we believe will be the number one marketplace in the world for courses, coaches, and creators. Isn't that when we talked about over here the marketplace? We've had marketplaces, but it was time to take it to another level because it was becoming so popular. So, with one click, when you get your site built, when you get your product built, you can have it up on this network where there's thousands of people every day already going there. You have built-in credibility and trust of people that are already looking. So, you could sell with confidence and simplicity. So, we are so freaking stoked. And and if you look at this, the right guide, that alone could be $1,500. The proven plan, we sold our previous course for $2,000. Cutting edge tools, you price it, it's over $4,000. So, the fact of the matter is, I hope you can see that this would still be a great deal at $7,300. You know, $7,734 to get everything you need in one place and have the world's only guided business development philosophy that's baked into every single thing we do. We know where you could get stuck and that's why we work to make sure you don't. I mentioned this earlier, but we did sell 40,000 of our first course at 1997. It was called the knowledge business blueprint. It was a course. People went nuts for it. And that was before Gigi, before the guide, before the tools. But here's the thing. At $2,000, this would be an incredible offer. But this is the evolution of entrepreneurship. This is more than a tool. This is more than a course. This is more than a platform. This is a whole new system with our guided business development philosophy that gets you the right guide, the proven plan, the cutting edge tools, the new marketplace. Listen, if you've ever dreamed of doing your own thing or scaling what you currently have, now is the time. And finally, you don't have to go at it alone. And we did it at a price that no one can compete with. Today you can get the all-new mastermind business system all year long for about $2.70 a day. That's less that's probably half of half as much as a Starbucks coffee. And you get the right guide. You get the proven plan. You get the cutting edge tools and you get the new marketplace. And you get to join this incredible family where everybody has their back. You see some family members already in the chat. People are a part of our family. See you in a [Music] few. Someone made a sale at 300 a.m. Oh my god. I already have my first client. I made my first high ticket sale. Guess how many courses I sold so far in the month of September. 29. 29. Who would have thought? I didn't just build a small course like I built a huge course. When I launched my course, I think within the first 24 hours, I got a sale from someone I actually didn't know. I sold 35 courses. I'm excited to say that I got my first sale. My first sale. Can I just tell you it was amazing. It was so amazing. That's what that feeling was to me because I can help the people I wanted to help. I have landed my first high ticket client and then another one. I have a webinar that now has over 80 people signed up. to have a course up on mastermind, which I never thought I'd be able to get up. It took me less than an hour to set up my course. Within a couple days, I already had a couple sales and I hadn't even marketed yet. Gigi has helped me a lot. She's my writer. She's my editor. She's my everything. Gigi is like having my own personal assistant. I spend less than an hour a day working with Gigi. and I've come up with three course outlines, a high ticket, a mid- ticket, and a low ticket. Mastermind and GG has been a game changer. I use GG for everything. And I cannot describe how good it is and how easy it is to use. I know I can do this. And literally having a sale just a few hours after going live is proven enough. And if I can, then you can do too. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. You're just inviting people to transform. You're inviting people for capabilities that can allow them to go faster and quicker. And like I said, I can predict your future. If you decide this is for you and you go all in and you gain the right guide and the skills and the capabilities, there's nothing that can stop you as long as you keep persisting. So, thanks for letting me share. So excited for you to join us. Uh, a couple of things and and we had so many great comments come in. I'm going to I'm going to share a couple uh the questions that you guys sent in. I'm going to reply. I'm not going to bring people up because I want to get to the training you're going to have with Matthew McConna who's excited for that. He's in our business. So, it's not just Matthew the star. It's Matthew the gentleman who took his information, wrote a book, turned it into a course, and went to the one of the bestselling courses ever. I don't know if any of you have this course, Road Trip. It is a 10 out of 10. So, I can't wait to get to that. One thing I wanted to share, a lot of people asked about the dollar trial. The dollar trial, the dollar VIP gets you GG. And that's fun. It's the success system. It's the foundation. Love that you guys did. You're going to freak out. This is completely different what we offer. This is the mastermind business system. This is the tool. The tool's not in the in the in the VIP, right? You get GG 2.0 that actually builds stuff with you. You get the business plan. So, it's just it's different. It's great what you have, but it's not the whole plan. It's not the business mastermind business system. Okay. So, couple great questions that came in. I'll answer a few of them. Uh just because I think if we answer one, we get to answer all. So, Kel Kelsey, oh, Kelsey, I'm sorry. We got to learn to read. Kelsey said, "After over 20 years of working in philanthropy, I'm now launching my own business, helping people donate effectively, but perfectionism keeps holding me back from actually starting. How can I overcome this paral uh the the the that paralyzing feeling and just move forward?" So, whenever you do something, I'm going to back up for a second. Sometimes when we're in a career or we're working for other people, we've had desires, we've had goals, we've tried to go to another, you know, take the company to another level. And sometimes, and I could be off on this one, Kelsey, but sometimes we don't realize our dreams get a little squashed. We stop thinking of innovation. We stop letting our creative souls come out. We just kind of go, "Well, I guess this is as good as it gets. This is the degree I have, or this is the thing I do. this is the job I have. But then there's a certain moment where that won't last anymore. Anybody ever been at that moment where enough is enough? It's time to do you. It's time to live into your full potential. Right? You have that feeling. But you might have had 5 years or 10 years or 15 years in this in this flow and then all of a sudden you're going to start your own thing and there's no guardrails. The thing that you reject over here actually became the safety. Do you ever see that meme on on on TV? It says, "Be careful what you wish for." And it shows it says, "Um, safe. No one can bug him. Three meals a day." It lists all these things. And it shows a lion in a cage, right? And that that hits me hard because yeah, you can live in a cage and get three meals a day and be fed and be protected and be safe, but who the hell wants to live in a cage, right? But our brain might our brain when we go over to do our own things sometimes it actually freaks us out and we start thinking well I could do this if it was all perfect if it all aligns. If my family agrees with me if I feel the confidence if I know the exact person I'm going to go with if I know the thing. And what it really does is that perfectionism holds us back from actually doing it. And then you fall back into the thing you don't love. So I I you know Tony has a whole share on perfectionism on and he thinks it's the lowest standard possible because you don't realize it's your brain messing with you to say hey we'll do this once it's perfect. Is anything ever perfect? So that's why I love without prompting. You saw Jillian said yesterday don't wait for it all to be perfect. You got to just move. You got to just do it. I wrote down what what um Jay and his amazing wife said what Rody said. She said, "Just just do it. Act first." Because you don't find perfection. You don't find your groove. You don't find your enthusiasm, your excitement until you're actually in the game. Actually, I told my kids this. I said, "Don't wait for your purpose or your passion to just hit you over the head." Because I don't think you find a true passion or purpose until you get in, till you roll up your sleeves, until you get until you get a little dirty. like pick the thing that fills your soul, but then you got to get in, push your sleeves up, and take action. You got to move. And when you're in it, that's when you fall in love with it on a whole another level. So, I I would just say, you got 20 years of doing this. You have a skill. You forgot more than most people starting off will ever know. You have something that can help someone go faster. You can help and it's in philanthropy. So the more business you you help people do, the more you help people donate, you actually have a compound effect. You should be thinking of all you're in this industry for a reason. Just think how much you can move the needle for people by getting uncomfortable by moving forward. I hope that helps. Uh Rick said, "I recently retired after 30 years as an electrician, and I have plenty of knowledge to share, but technology intimidates me. I'm worried I'll get stuck or frustrated trying to figure out the tech side. Is this really something I can handle? Here's what I want to say, Rick. I don't want to just answer with I'm 56 years old. Technology freaks me out, too. So, everything we build here, we build simplicity on the other side of complexity. I want to use it. I want it to be easy to do. And believe me, we obsess on it. But let's just take technology out of it for a moment. 30 years as an electrician. How valuable would that be? Rick, if you're watching, you can put it in the chat, right? How valuable would that be if you could go back and spend a week with the version of you that was in year one or even year five? What would you have told that young electrician to do? How could you told them maybe start their own business or maybe how to get raises or how to get promotions or how to do the main job and get a side hustle at night and help people? Think of all the amazing things. So our brains our brains sometimes think about the thing we have to do. But when we focus on the outcome, everything changes. Think about how much further along you could help young men or women start off electrician go faster, do better, go quicker. Don't think about the technology because the fact of the matter is you could follow the path, the marketplace, the warm network, the social media. You could follow all that with zero technology skills and you could have a meetup in your town, in your city if you wanted to. I guarantee I guarantee if you took the action, you could have 10, 20, 50 electricians in a meetup to show them how to go faster and quicker. Who wouldn't, right? So, I wouldn't think about the technology. Remember Nate, he wrote everything on a piece of paper and put it in front of him. And what did he do? He picked up his phone and made phone calls. He did his first training on a Zoom call. You're on a Zoom call, Rick. So, I don't want you to think about step five before you even get to step one. But I I want to share something got maybe it's my kid lesson today. But I share with my kids that you need to focus on the outcome of things. See, I exercise every day. I try to do seven days a week. A lot of times it's six. So, people always say to me, "Oh, you must love exercise." Not really, especially leg day. I I I don't like cardio day either, but I do it. And everybody says, "Well, how do you make it that habit?" It's because I don't think about, "Oh, I got to walk in the gym. I got to turn on that treadmill. I'm going to do legs first. Oh, I hate doing legs. Usually hurts my back if I do squats." I don't think about that. What I think about is a few things. I think about how I'm going to feel when I'm done working out. So, this is for everybody. Is this just for Rick or is this for everybody? Right. I I like to think about how I'm going to feel after I work out. Here's a few things. Number one, my 18-year-old and 16-year-old, they work out every day. I've never asked them to work out. They just see their dad in the gym at 5:30, 5:00 every single morning in your life. It's just what we do in our family. So, my kids work out. So, in my head, I'm like, "Oh, I got to work out because my kids want to see the example." Right? Number two, I always listen to a book or an audio while I'm doing I'm like, "Oh, I'm going to feed my brain. I want to finish that book or finish that chapter or finish that podcast. I want to get there." Right? I want to look good for my wife. I like the way she looks at me. I want to keep looking that way. No matter what it is, I have found ways to hack my brain. And also, when I get done working out, who knows when you're done working out, you feel more clarity and you feel better for the day. So, the days I don't want to work out, I don't say just just do it. No, I say no, no, I want to finish that book. Hey, I got to look good. I don't want to lose this. Hey, my kids are watching and I know I'm going to have a lot more clarity. It's going to be a big day. So therefore, I just go work out and I get to experience that. That's the same thing, Rick. If you focus on, oh, I got to do the technology and oh no, I got to do this thing and then I got to do that thing. No, no, no. Focus on the day that you're helping 35 younger electricians maybe start their own business or go faster, make money quicker to avoid all the mistakes that you made, Rick. and and and figure think about them walking up to you at the end of a Zoom training, an inerson retra train training, a retreat, a course that you created, and they're like, "Dude, thank you. I didn't learn any of this in school. I would have never known. You can help condense what took you 30 years to achieve. They could probably achieve it in five." That's what you think about. That's the excitement. That's what drives you forward. Everybody getting that? Focus on the outcome. Take this. Take the step. All right. I'll do one more really quick. Uh John says, "I've built a successful real estate career, but my passion really lies in photography. At first, I thought, hey, I'll do real estate training, but really I want to shift gears because I want to teach my passion, but can I really do it? How confidently can I pursue that?" Okay, so many people have done this, right? So many people. I I can think of so many. So, if you love real estate and you're still in it, then let that be your career. But if you are passionate about photography, then I would geek out on a certain niche, right? We talked yesterday. I would think about what niche in photography is. Is it sunsets? Right? We have a gentleman here that lives in Arizona. I talked about him yesterday. He makes a living. He started by just filming sunsets. Now we teach others how to find the right spot, where to stand, what lenses, what to and catch perfect sunsets. He's making a living teaching sunset photography. But maybe you want to do weddings, high-end weddings. Maybe you want to do photography. Maybe you want to do birds, butterflies. Narrow down the niche. Okay? Keep doing the business you're doing. Turn your passion into a side hustle, a side project, a side business. And maybe someday if that one passes the real estate, then you can end up doing that full-time. But here's what I'd say for everybody. You might be thinking there's a couple of things you could do, and there is. I started with teaching people how to make money with cars. Then I taught people how to invest in real estate. Now I'm teaching you with my partner Tony how to enter our industry. I shifted what I was teaching but it was all in the same industry. Right? And I took everything I learned from the first thing and I put it into the second thing and everything I learned from the second thing I put it into the third thing. But you can't start two things at once. This is for everybody. I'm going to encourage all of you to pick one. And no, you don't have to stick with it forever. You might think to yourself, "Hey, I loved this for a while. I'm going to take what I learned and I'm going to do it over here." But if you start too many things at once, then your brain starts trying to solve problems for all three. It gets complex and you feel like you got ADD and it's all over the place and then you end up doing nothing. So what I'm going to tell you, John, and everybody else, pick one. Decide on one. Go all in on one. And if you decide to switch, great. Then switch to another one. Because once you start getting sales, once you start making impact, once people are happy, I promise you're going to want to do this for life. All right, John, Rick, Kelsey, thank you for the great questions. Give it up for them, everybody. Come [Music] on. All right. So, who's ready for a little Matthew McConna in their life? I know I am. And listen, you might know him for obvious reasons. But what you may not know is that what he took, what he uniquely knew knows, and he used this very same philosophy, the same system we're sharing here today, this week, by launching by creating and launching a course that changed so many people's lives. It was such an amazing product. It is such an amazing product and it was just it was so amazing not only it was an incredible book and an incredible product and it was so cool to get to know him to see his work ethic and that he was insecure sometimes and wasn't sure but just kept moving forward and it's one of my greatest honors ever that I was able to help shepherd him through the process, help him launch it. So I asked him if he'd be willing to come back and share that journey with us. Now, I want to tell you, we had to record this a little earlier because he's filming a movie right now with Woody Harrison. I can't say anything else, but it's going to be awesome. This is just for you. This will never be on the internet. No one will ever see it. It's getting played today and you won't see it again. So, I had to do it a little early, but it is unbelievably amazing. And watch every minute. Put it in the chat. I'll be sitting here watching it with you. Without further ado, Matthew McConna. I'm so excited for our next guest. You all know him as an Oscar winner, a Golden Globe winner, bestselling author, and one of the most iconic storytellers of our time, but what we might not know is the man behind the curtain. Over the past couple years, I've had the privilege to getting to know him better and better. And let me tell you, he's as real as they get. He's one of the hardest workers I know. An amazing father, incredible husband, and someone to admire for the right reasons. Let's give a huge welcome for Mr. Matthew McConna. How you doing, Matthew? Hey, everybody. Good. Thank you for that intro, Dean. Yeah. No, it's good. You know, I I have to say one of those things when you get the chance to know someone from the outside and then behind the curtain, it is so comforting, rewarding. It gives you back faith in humanity when when you realize someone is exactly who you feel who you think they are. So, uh it's been great getting to know you. And before we start though, I just want to tell everybody how we got to know each other and how you entered the same industry everybody. And here's entering or thinking about uh and how you entered it with the energy that I think you put in everything you do. So I I've shared this with you, Matthew, but for everybody who doesn't know, I read Green Lights. Actually, I listened to it. When I got done, I was so disappointed. The last when it was the last sentence you read, I'm like, "Wait, wait, wait. I want more of this version of Mccah." Um, and we luckily had a mutual connection. I sent you, I think, a seven-minute voice memo and I didn't know uh what you would think of it. And uh you were so receptive. We got the chance to to communicate back and forth and you said, "Let's do it." And we went to work and we created a course called Road Trip which was based on people who wanting more in their life and different areas of more. We launched the art 11 live event which two and a half million people showed up on day one and I think your course became one of the bestselling courses in history that day deservingly so honestly the work you put in it was one of the best courses uh I've ever seen. So uh so excited to have you here today. Hey good to be here man. We got a lot of fun stuff to talk about. Yeah. So I figured I'd start here. You know you spent 30 years journaling, writing down lessons, failures, green lights, and all the stuff along the way. When you first sat down to write Green Lights, did you ever think that your personal reflections could turn into a movement? And I believe it is a movement. People who read Green Lights and are a part of that version of you have have had some huge transformations. So, how did that feel uh making that transformation from journaling to movement? I didn't plan on I didn't go into it thinking this could be a movement. I did, you know, it it was I was learning about what green lights maybe could be as I was kind of in real time as I was learning about who I was. Yeah. Cuz for the I don't like to look in the past. I never have like to look over my shoulder to write Green Lance. I had to look in the past. I'd look over my shoulder a lot. And I went back and I think the most surprising thing was as much as I was going sheepishly into my past and going, "Oh, I don't want to revisit that that style. Look at you. I remember what you did. the arrogance you had or blah blah blah. As much as I would go and she was when I would go back and read the reality, I'd be like, "Oh, okay. That's actually that was honest. That was real." And look, two years later, you had the chance to do the same thing again, but you did it with more honesty. You did it you did it better. You you succeeded at it. So all the foibless and all the things I was I looked into my past that I was embarrassed about even ashamed about regretted became I I remember remember the cycle of it after a couple of months I started I went from like oh gez to started to chuckle out of it when I started to have humor at myself in the past where I had failed that's when the whole kind of the whole book kind of became more human and that's when I started to notice oh this may be something that everyone can understand. Yeah. Um because we're all kind of, you know, got things in our past or things in the closet that we don't want to see. And a lot of times when we open them up and check them out, they're not the boogeyman. You know what I mean? They're like, "Oh, that's just human." Huh. Okay. Me, too. Guilty. And you know, to to So, it it um it connected me to where I saw how it connected me to where I want to go in life. I saw it connected me in times in the past where it led me to where I did go in life and helped me be more present as a person and a man in my life now because I had not reconciled but I had looked in the face of my and I tell you by being by being so transparent in that in that especially because you read it and I got to listen to your voice and I could feel your passion and in certain and in all the stories but you brought us into the story so we could say me too, right? which I love that writing style. You know, everything you do from the course to everything, I can't wait for whatever's next for you. We'll talk about that in a minute. But you bring us into it. I feel like I'm sitting alongside. I think one time you said ride along. You said I wanted people to be the ride along. And that's exactly I think of co-pilot ride along. It's like I'm on the journey with McConna in this book or this course. And you did that so so well. And you know what? Something just made me think of something. Looking in your past, you probably saw places where you were maybe in the ego mind, too big for your britches. Other time where straight compassion, regret, like you get to see these trends, overly sentimental, uh, nostalgic as well. Yeah. Yeah. You probably got to witness all that. You know, you I I did. I did. And and and look, in in those I've said this to you before, I think, but in times where I was in a heavy ego where I I thought, man, I can do no wrong. I was charging forward, playing offense without much compassion. This is the way it goes. And then boom, I would eat shi. I'd fall in my face, right? Yeah. And and and be like, wow, you were flying too close to the sun. Then I realized that, oh well, if you wouldn't have had that much ego to fly that close, you wouldn't have learned the lesson. I wouldn't have got burned. I wouldn't have got that band-aid on my finger because I got too close to the fire. Oh, okay. I found out I don't plan on doing it. Keep going back to go back burn it again again. But I wouldn't have got I'm glad I got close enough to burn myself times in many times instead of going like well it was warm and I and I backed off you know and I got to places where I was like oh no I I screwed up. I got some humility dished to me and I wouldn't have got that dish to me if I wouldn't have had that. Right. And and and those experiences allow you the next time you're getting a little close to the sun before the crash, you get to go, you know what? I've been here before. I think it's time to reel it in a little bit, you know? Yeah. I'm I'm going to pivot here a little bit left or right instead of instead of going and doing repeating the same thing. Yeah. I love it. Listen, you played some of the most iconic characters in Hollywood and you lived through their stories. But when you did the book, when you did the live event, when you did the course, you weren't playing a role. I guess you were playing you just like one of the projects you're working on now guiding people just basically through your own experiences. What I love is you weren't you should do this. You're gonna you you're more of like this is what I went through and this is what I learned. So how did it feel uh compared to working in film and did it surprise you how much people connected with your story? So part of the reason I went and wrote the book is I was wanting to do what I call close the the gaps between who I am, my artistic expression, and what is translated, what you're getting. Um, if I go do a film, I'm usually doing someone else's script, playing a character that was written, directed by someone else, and then edited by someone else. That's four filters from my own expression. So, look, standup would be the most filterless means of expression. You're on a stage, you got a mic, bam, it's direct to the audience. But writing, there's only one filter. it's the written word to whoever reads it and what they can get from it. So, I got rid of some filters, a lot of the filters of my own expression. I looked at the book as me like directing my own film that I wrote that I star in. Um, that's what I looked at the book as. Um, you know, advice, nobody really likes to get advice. And I did have to watch this because I can I can sometimes give advice. I like to preach. But if you're talking in that second person, you should, you should, you get it. I think we all do. I get exhausted like, "Hey, man, but tell me what to do." Yeah. I don't think anyone likes to be told what to do. Now, so I tried to I was very conscious in the book of going, "What person am I using when when is it the first person if I feel this way? This happened to me." You can judge that, but you can't condemn me on that. You can you can love that, but you can't you can't can't really give me a trophy for it. I'm telling you about my experience. This is how I felt about it. Then I would slip into now here's what you here's what you could do. And then I would slip into the third person, which my favorite, the royal we and here's what I think we're we're we're up we're up we're up against here. here's how I think we can get through this when we cross this same kind of conflict or opportunity in the so I would play in the persons and always starting off with the first person because that's the safest spot that's the most honest spot and that's the spot I really had to get to first like I got to be telling the truth of myself first before I can go to say hey here's what I think would be good for you or here's what I think we all could do um it's fun to go straight to the royal we here's what I think we all could do but that's also can be very arrogant because you can go Were you speaking for everybody? What are youing God, dude? You know what I mean? That can become very platitudinal as well. It's like what is this? You're the constitution of humanity. No, no, no, no, no. Don't want to be that. But the play between those those those persons first, second, and third. And you got to have if it's going to be your own story, make sure you get that first one down. This is how I feel. Yeah. Because it's non-judgmental. This is what it this is what it meant to me. That's free. You may not You can disagree. You can agree. You can take some from it. You can I'm telling you how I how I experienced it. And then I would have what called a prescribe which would sort of be like the little kind of a a lesson, but here's what I got from that story. And I think part of the what was interesting about the book is my prescribes after I would tell a story were not typically what some people maybe thought this what I thought the moral of the story was. Yeah, that the family stories. You know, my family is very physical family and I've had and and and and you can read some of those stories go, "Oh my gosh, that was almost a abusive like when I give you the prescribe about how we loved each other and how love always won the day." Like, "Oh, that wasn't the moral of the story. At least that wasn't how Matthew saw the moral story." And it wasn't. So, it would I wouldn't flip it, but in some people's minds, I would find a different I would talk about a different moral in the story than I think would be the obvious one. And I think that was part of what was engaging about uh green lights for a lot of people. Oh, for sure. And you know, I got to witness that when we were working on the course together. We were right in the other room here. And when you shared, you you'd get up and you tell a story. Uh the team still talks about it. Like you tell a story and then you get done, you ask like, "Hey, did that feel like I was preachy or was I inviting you in?" So it is a conscious. It's not just a hey, that's the way the book turned out. You could tell that you probably deliberately went through and you when you pro I've written five books, so I know the rewrite and the reread. You're like, "Oh, I got to, you know, you could re-edit and retweak your life on it." But I'm I'm guessing it seemed like you went through the course, the book as you were doing it and go, "Hey, hey, this part's a little preachy. Let me let me make it the royal we or let me just say, hey, this is what I did. Take it take it for what you want." You know, and go through it. And and because we had so many emails, I mean, because we we did the course together, we did the art of living together, we had literally thousands, probably tens of thousands of emails saying, "MCA, you changed my life." Like, I'm sure people walk up to you and go, "Oh my god, Interstellar, that character." Or Dazed and Confused. Oh my god, I still laugh at it. Or Dallas Buyers Club, you brought it to life. You know, that's talking about the character. How does it hit you when people say you changed my life or you impact like is it heavy for you or is it it's uh it's it's good and heavy. It's good and heavy. I don't mean not heavy like oh no it's heavy like people stop me and this this this you know people stop me in the street or stop me on on hikes and mountains all around the world and and if it's a movie they'll come by. Hey man I really liked Interstellar. Hey, I really liked you in this or you know Dave's confused. Someone's walking down the other side of the street. They go, "Hey man, got a joint." And I just say, "Be like cool you did." And we kind of in past. But with with with with this work, people stop me and I don't know them and they put their hands on me and they grab they spin me around and grab me by the shoulders when I go, "Yeah, thanks for reading." And they go, "No, no, no. Listen to me. Listen to me. You changed my life. I'm not here right now because I am here because and I'm like really it's all stop and hear a story that does that is heavy and it and it's and and and people mean it and I've tried to you know listen to get to the the bottom of what is it? Um it helps a lot of people I think take a lot of risk I don't think they would have taken before. That's one thing I hear all the time is people saying oh I'm going to I'm going to do that thing that I've been procrastinating or that I've been scared of doing because what's the worst that can happen? and I can go and find out it wasn't for me and then I'll pivot the other way if it that's the worst at that. Um, so it is heavy and it's a gift that keeps on giving. It really is because I'm like I did write that. That was from me. That wasn't in somebody else's script. I wasn't playing another game. And it's addicting. I mean, it's the business I've been in for 27 years. Tony, my partner's been in for 46 years, right? And it I I'm sure it'll drive you for I know we'll talk about it in a minute. working on a fun newsletter and your next project and hopefully we're all waiting for the next book or the next training that you do, but it's got to inspire you to to peel off like to to create a new swimming lane. Of course, you're always going to do amazing movies and shows and the things that you do well and being the culture uh uh the the uh the minister of culture for the sports teams that you are at all. I could tell that all fits your personality, but I'm guessing there's a new lane of hey, I want I want more people to have that impact by the way I tell stories. Yes. And and I fell in love with writing. I didn't know I was going to love writing as much as I did. I didn't know I was going to get so much pleasure out of going, "Oh, I got on the page. what I meant. Yeah. And I learned this and we all got to learn this. A lot of a lot of the stuff and it did need edits because a lot of my raw stories that I again personally thought were great didn't translate if you read them. Got it. You know, I remember the times I had with my editors going like they'd say like, "Oh, this story doesn't fit." And I'd be like, "How what do you mean that story doesn't fit? How did you not get that story? That's one of the most important ones in there and here's why." And they go, "Oh, write that." you know, I go back go, "Oh, I didn't write it good enough." Now that I wrote it good enough, now it translates um that that that is a lane, you know, of what would I what would I call it? I don't necessarily call it self-help. I mean, it's it's approach. Yeah. It's it's a it's a different approach. I love that. I love that word. Perspectives, you know, how we can how how again I start off green lights with and I and I can deconstruct this forever. When faced with the inevitable, get relative. How many things that we go, okay, that's happened. That's a fact in life. I'm not going that has happened. Now, how do I react to that? There's a million ways to react. Yeah. And isn't it isn't it amazing when you've been looking through one lens your whole life and maybe something stops you, frustrates you, what whatever the the word is, and then all of a sudden you get a new lens and go, "Wow, I I could just the whole thing's different because I got a new pair of glasses." Like I had this pair on, somebody gave me this one. I'm like, "Oh, I could actually see now." Yeah. You know, in the course road trip, uh, you you you focused it around more, the different areas of life where people would want more from admit more, more choice, more balance, more joy, more cool, more love, and then the the the controversial more selfish. I loved them all. Um, but I went through it again recently. I knew we were going to do this interview and I went through it and love them all, but for some reason, more choice stood out for me because you took the viewer through one heck of a journey. You said not making a choice is still a choice. Yep. That people have put off those decisions, those tough ones, let's just hope that it works out the kinks on its own, but that only really keeps them stuck, right? Um like for an example, I you said if you hadn't made that call to your dad, you might have gone to law school. That was a tough decision to make. So what do you say to people because there's a lot of amazing humans watching. They're dying for another level. They know they're meant for more. They hear it. They don't want to get to their end of their life and say, "Oh, damn it. I missed living into me." But they're frozen indecision in indecision. Yep. Well, going back to that, I brought the boogeyman earlier. The longer we don't make a choice or the longer we seem to hibernate on a choice, for me, I love I can overprepare. the longer we prepare for the right time to make the choice. I a lot of times I think the choice is clear to us. It's when do we make it? And that can be a bit of paralysis because when's it ever a good time? How many times as as busy parents, yeah, yeah, I got to do that thing for myself. I'll do I'm going to schedule that in March. March comes along. Oh, I got this thing going on with the kids. I can't do it. Well, let's move. It's November. It's never a good time for it. You just got to make it. And sometimes just do it and say it's in the calendar. It's not pencled in. It's engraved. I'm doing it by hook or by crook. The rest of the world can move around me. And what happen? It's usually time. Usually the world does move around you and and accommodate if you just say that's what I'm doing. The out the consequences even to the detrime even the debit even the debits like when the consequences are not what we wanted. They're usually not near as near as bad as we made up in our mind they were going to be. That boogeyman's not really under that monster in that cave is not really that big. He only looks bigger because we hadn't looked at him in so long. And since while we hadn't been looking, he's been coming out of his cave. And so we turn around, he's just closer. He's not bigger. He's just closer. Yeah. It's an illusion, you know. And the more that boogeyman gets close to your face and you see him, the more you build the grit to make more decisions and stop the indecisiveness, right? It's like a muscle. It really is like a muscle. Yeah, it is a It is. And and and a lot of times we don't want to make that hard choice because we think it's going to give us it's going to be laborious. We're going to have to deal with wrestling that demon for a long and a lot of times it's just looking that dog on boogeyman in the eye and facing up and admitting it and all of a sudden they disappear and you're like, "Oh, I had created a monster that wasn't there. It was fictitious. I thought this was like going to be and that decision we make, we can build it up to think it's even the good decisions for the ones that do work out for us, we build them up to be like they are going to be absolutely life-changing for the good or for the bad. Let's be let's be honest here. That's it. It's just another there's a bunch of not false summits, but there's there's elucory summits all along the way. That's another summit. Even if we succeed, it's not the summit. So don't build it up to be. Sometimes we need to build it up to be that perspective. Tada, you know, and we also don't get there and go now I'm done. If we lo if it's if it's not our intended unintended consequence, we don't we didn't we may fail, but we didn't lose. We may we may win, but it's not over. We don't win the final trophy. It's not we have another summit we cross. So the great decisions with the great consequences and the decisions we make that have the not so good consequence, they're never as monumental as we make them up to be in our mind. Um so on the on the fear side of not making a consequence, yeah, make it I mean it's don't it's going to be nothing but get tougher to make with passing of time the more we True story because the monster builds. What do they say? Slay the slay the dragon while it's little. you know, get him. I mean, go ahead. Right there. A lot of times the sleigh is just looking the son of a [ __ ] in the eye. Yeah. Just just gags, you know, without stuttering. You know what I mean? A lot of times that's that's that's the sleigh. Um that's the future. Um and uh you know, even for and for the good stuff that we make like sometimes, oh, I fear about should I have that much success if I get this? If I make the decision, I'm going to get that. Do I deserve that? man, that's an arrogant thing almost to think that who are we to think to measure whether we deserve that kind of pleasure or gain. Go do it and you'll find out that wasn't the end all. That wasn't all the gain you could get. That's just another step on the way to getting getting more. So, I think um uh that mobility to stay adaptable, but to stay mobile, keep moving. It's the stagnant part and the paralysis of going. One of the favorite things Yeah. One of the favorite things I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you, but one of the favorite things that I love you said is just the fear of not knowing. Like that one alone sometimes gets me just like what if on the other side of that is another version of me. I live into my full potential. I break free. Right. So the the the not knowing should annoy you as much as the knowing. Yeah. The a microcosm of that is it's harder to say no to people, right, than to say yes. they invite you something, a project or what have you. I've practiced this through my career and it's hard but I'll if I get in, you know, a long enough creative conversation with say a director for a project. If we're we're having more than two conversations, that means things are going well. That means we're starting to meet minds on the project, right? But that still doesn't mean I'm doing it. So I may have three, four, spend weeks with someone and then have to go, I'm not doing it. And that I've always either done that person or made that call. and they're hard calls to make. But what I find is that more and more that person ends up even in by the end of the phone call where I said no respects me more than they did before we got because they've had to say no. Yeah. And we find out that oh, everyone kind of understands. Yeah. We've all been told no. The answer is always no until it's yes. If you're asking for something, right? Until it's yes. And we're all like bigger boys and bigger girls than we give ourselves credit for. No is just as important as yes. If you ask me to do something and I want to but I end up saying no and I let you know that you're not like I can't believe he said no. You're like get it. No more. He's got stuff going on. I bet you had to say no does not mean it's the end of our relationship. Actually, you could respect me more if I did that in person rather than had my assistance assistants text you text you. Yeah. Exactly. And the fact of the matter is if you're saying yes to one thing, none of us have five hours a day that we don't know what to do with. Right. So, if you say yes to one thing, you're automatically saying no to something else, right? If you say yes to one thing, it might be no to missing your son's soccer game or being there for dance or or the other project that you wanted to work on. So, I love that um that you could elegantly say no, especially when you know what you should be saying yes to. Right. Right. Right. Yes. Well, and look in and the the other side of that saying no and not making a decision. I will say this, we all know that sometimes abstaining is the good decision. Especially when we talk about today, we only got 20. We're talking about that we got 24 hours a day. No one's given anymore. Man, we got AI right now. It seems like we got more things that can speed up our productivity in a short amount of time than ever. At the same time, it feels like more of the world is racing against time. Yeah, that feels inverted. We should if this is all working out, we should be sitting around going like, I have all this leisure time. Yeah, exactly. But that's not the way it's working out. Yeah. You know, so sometimes abstaining, you know, to go back to that four, as we were talking uh pre-show, four big laughs are better than eight giggles. Four strong two really bond great bonfires are better than six little campfires. So abstaining to say no so we don't overleverage oursel is also a smart thing to do sometimes. So true. So true. You know I shared with you before we came on this is a group of people that are know they're meant for more. I said that but they also are entering an industry where they get to share their life experience to allow people to go faster. Right. We got to learn through your course through your book like oh McConna did that. I can learn a lesson from that. I can I can condense five years of my own trial and error by modeling this story that you did or someone else did. Right. Yep. So I I I've asked this question a lot uh to audiences to tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of people. And I always say when they're like, "Well, I'm not sure if my life story is valuable. I don't know if my uh career skill is valuable to someone else. I don't know if my passions are are valuable to someone else." Um you know, maybe MCA, you're an actor. Maybe that's that's it's easier for you. But then I always ask this question. If you had a choice to between one of two things, if this was a magic wand and I could put a million dollars in your bank account with one swipe or I could send you back to spend a week with your 20-year-old self, which would you choose? And I've never hardly anyone say the million bucks. They all say go back 90 I mean literally we could have an audience of 50,000 people. really one two hands raised the hand for a million bucks because you get to go back and say, "Hey, hey, don't do this thing. Don't act this way in a relationship. Hey, you could do your own thing sooner. Dream bigger." So, I guess the question is, um, what would you say to people who are thinking, you know, I'm not sure my life experience is valuable to someone else? I'm not Matthew McConna. Could do you think I could help someone else? What kind of how would you approach that that question? Whether we believe it or not, we're all the MVP in our own life. Whether we believe it or not. So, I'm going to go that word seems to be believe, doesn't it? Belief. Um, does everyone have a platform or the size of a megaphone that I do because I've become famous and I'm a celebrity? No. No. No. Um, but to a boot, look at what for instance with with Green Lights, I that was less celebrity than I've ever been. Yeah, that was hardly any celebrity. And many people may have bought that book because they maybe liked me as a celebrity or not, but that is the book the book only lived on that for a couple of weeks. After that, it was had nothing it didn't have anything to really do by a celebrity. um what what a great point though that you said you share that that book went viral and will continue to um has nothing to do with you being you just said that it's because people read it and it resonated with them and it shifted something in them because you went first right like like in some areas you just went first or you experienced something that they could learn through that so yeah what a great point yeah um you know and also So, don't get hung up on that. Well, if I I you know, if I wrote a book, could I get a publisher to to go wide? Don't don't forget chasing the the the result of Yeah, but I don't know if I'd have the access to a bestseller or have the money to publish the book be put out why. Don't get don't get caught up in all that. You can look around you and say if you got a something going on in your life that you go, "Oh, I see how I work through this." And this is a common denominant more than me have to go through this. That's worth sharing. And who and who and who and who could you get that who could you share that with? First of all, look at your own house. Second of all, look at your community. Third, you have a community here if you're online here with with with Dean and and Tony of like-minded people wanting to listen and wanting to share. Um, so you've got a built-in community if you're here. Um, now tell your share your specific story in a paradigm that everyone can go, "Oh, I've been in that situation before." Oh, that's how you handle that. I I wish I'd have thought of that when I was there because I was in that predicament last night when I was sitting there talking to my son about blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and I didn't handle it that way. Thank you. It can be very personal. Don't don't get caught up in thinking that it has to be it's the old think local, you know, uh act local. You can think global, but act local. Think about yourself. It's back to what we said at the beginning. First person I how do I feel about it? And if it's a situation that you go, a lot of people go through the same kind of thing. I'm going to share how I handled I'm going to share how I failed in it. Also, if you're not maybe maybe you're not succeeding in all these things. Maybe your story is about how you keep stepping in the same polish and you going like, "Why am I doing this?" That's worthy to share, too, because one, you're gonna have a lot of people out there go, "Me, too." That's part of that's part of reparation right there to get more people to admit, I keep doing that, too. You too. That's that's already like, oh, because there's a lot of people out there that think they're the only one doing that. you sharing your authority may let them know, oh, this is a human condition. It's not just me, you know. So, as I'm as I'm think I think one of the byproducts of this conversation, like you said, uh when you when you when you scribe the scribe, right? Is that what the in the book you call the prescribe, right? If you think about one of the lessons of this interview is when people think I have to know it all. I have to give good advice. That's intimidating, right? cuz none of us know it all and none of us like advice. But when you say, "Hey, this is the way I did it and here's how it went wrong. You shouldn't do this." Or, "Here's how it went right. You should model this. You could model this." Not even you should. You could model this. I I think that's one of the biggest byproducts that takes away so much of the of the like I got to be perfect more. No, you just got time in this one lane in this spe specialized knowledge in one specific category that you have experiences in. I'm still working on the confidence and I will say I have worked on I've gotten much better at it. But one of the great ways of means of of of communicating and for me and learning from others and people going oh listening is me becoming more certain what I don't know. Yeah. Be certain know right and to go here's advice and but I got to be good here. I'm on. They want to hear from me. I gota I gota I got no parts coming in. I don't I don't know. I've thought about it. I don't know. I'm You know what? I'm pretty sure I know I know this and I don't know this. That humanizes all that lets people in because a lot of we all want to act in the know. Everyone acts in the know. No one likes to show what they don't know. And when we come out and go, I I I know that one. I'm still confounded by that one. I keep banging my head in that same damn door. Yeah. I'm still in the messy middle of that one. We're still We're still a We're still a teacher with that. So true. We're still affirmative. We're still a teacher going that because again, you're allowing so many people to go. I don't know either. Or some people to go, "Well, that I do know. I don't know that other stuff that you know, but I do know that." And now you've got an exchange. Now you've got the exchange rate going back and forth. And now you've got a conversation. Now you got people learning instead of being told what to do. So good. Now you're getting some viscosity with the with life lessons. Um uh so good. Uh last time we were together, thanks for the invite to the game, my wife and I still talk about we had the time of our lives. I I've never been to a football game in my entire life. And to go on that stadium and have a 100,000 plus people like the I've never felt my belly my like we we smiled. Our faces hurt. We smiled so much. We had so we had such a great time. Thank you for that. It was so good. It was so good. And uh you also shared what's next for you and uh so I'm so excited and everybody should be. I know you have a newsletter out which you're having fun with and I know you I don't want to give too much away but I know you're working on poems. You said that's in your mind. Maybe you could just give us a little teaser uh of what's exciting, what's next for you in this lane in our knowledge industry lane. Surely. So, the newsletter is a weekly thing called Lyrics of Living. And if you're interested, you go to lyricsofliving.com, I believe it is. Um, and I send it to you at five o'clock if you want it five o'clock on Fridays. Why five o'clock on Fridays? Because it's the end of the week and you got 48 hour runway of more freedom behind you. And it's just a way to take a a glass of water into your beer drinking weekend. I love that. It's just a little five minutes with MC to get a little little little thoughts of the week so you don't completely just check out and and and and uh for the weekend, but you still have a lot of fun doing it. The the book coming out um it's based on poems and prayers. Um look, you know, I I' I've realized this and I and one thing I will not I will fight to the death not become as a senate. Uh we all have our journey from naivee to innocence to skepticism. And then a lot of us as we get older move into that fourth quarter which is cynicism and that's an early death. That's a that's that's a quitter's death. Yeah. And I ain't going there. And and and and but I found myself sometimes leaning into that when I'm looking at reality, when I'm looking at proof and I'm like, you know what I think I need and the world needs is belief, man. But where we find that? You don't really You're not going to find belief looking around at proof. You don't look at proof. There's all reasons to be cynical. Yeah. Well, I ain't going there. So, I'm going to quit looking at proof for a minute. Yeah. Poems, prayers, the art, the things that give us ideals to still dream of. Don't do to not give up on ideals for ourselves and for others. Those are found in art. Poems and prayers. Um belief. uh whether for me that's in God, whether that's for some in their own personal transcendent self, whether that's a belief in a and and and they bow to their children, they bend a knee to their future, to their past, to their ancestry, whatever that may be. Um we got to maintain that and not not not give up and become that cynic and not let proof the proof of the world because reality can beat us down and pin us. Well, and can't we find proof of anything we decide and believe in? There's proof in everything, right? We can find the proof to enhance being negative, being positive, being all those people. Why I was so excited when you shared a little bit about poems and prayers and that you're working on it is because you have the opportunity to read a page or two and have something impact you for the day, the week, the month, right? It's not a I love the journey of green lights or the course road trip from beginning to end, but I also love the fact to say, "Hey, I only have five minutes. Let me give MCA a little five minute and I could get a little dose of a poem or a prayer that sticks with me maybe for the rest of my life or maybe just that day to help me be a better version that day. It may be a song for your day. It'll have ways to things that have helped me get started, get the day started in the right way with the right perspective, you know, with gratitude for the things that um are the beauties that are given us for free. Yeah. Yeah, you know, to not get past or become too mature to get past being thankful for those things that we take for granted every um it's it's it's also, you know, some poems and prayers are nightmares when I'm lost and wobbly and looking, you know, um but the fact uh that we're when we are in that place, the fact that we're looking to get out, the fact that we're trying to get out, that's that's the big ticket for getting out. just the just the effort. Yes. Um so good. It's some a lot of it's beauties. Uh most of most of it's more uh beautiful stuff back. It's about grace uh compassions, forgiveness. Um things that are just, you know, good reminders and and some of them happen to rhyme. So they got a little ting to them. You know what I mean? They got and some are songs, some are just uh some are some are written songs that are more like almost kind of um beat poetry um for experiences I've had that are quite funny. A lot of them are really really funny. Well, I have to tell you when when you're ready and when that comes out, this is a community um that will devour that. So, we will make sure we let everybody know what your next project is. I got one last quick question. It's a short question, but it could have a lot of answers, but I'm thinking you might have a little something to end on a powerful note. Um, why is it worth chasing your dreams? I know that's a big it could go in a lot of directions, but but there's a lot of people on here deciding I need to go for who I'm meant to be. I keep using those words because that's what resonates with this group. So, why is it worth it from MCC perspective? Many many many reasons. Um, starting with the simple ones of the why, why not? And there's a lot of answers for why not. Um, let's go with let's play defense for why to chase your dreams. Defense. You won't regret not finding out. You won't get to the end of your days here in this life and go, "God, I just had the courage to try that out, Chad." You won't have that. Even if you chase them and fail, you'll still get to your longer days and go, "I went for it. I went for it. Maybe didn't I didn't bat a thousand, but I I found out. I found out." To go back to that term, find out. Um, secondly, if you ain't chasing your dreams, whose dream you going to chase? So good. Wow. That's a that's a that's short and powerful. Whose dreams are you chasing? I mean, what's the alternative? Find out yours is worth every everyone's is specifically worth chasing. Even if just to ourselves. Even if just to ourselves. Yeah. Find out who who other who else in the dream you going to chase. I think let them chase theirs. I think that's the perfect place to end. Um Matthew, it's been such a pleasure getting to know you, getting to know your family and uh and what you do. We're here to support you. This is an amazing community. about 800,000 people registered for just this event alone. Um, and this is the community that wants to help empower you. We love that you wrote a book. We love that you created a course and did a live event and and we love that you have this lane. So, we're looking for poems and prayers, the newsletter, and whatever's next. And I just want to say thank you uh thank you for for all that you do and thanks for being a part of this community. Everybody, give it up for Mr. Matthew McConna. Thank you all for being here. Thank you for having me. Dean, always a pleasure. Thanks for having me. You and Tony, you keep on doing it. We'll see you next [Applause] [Music] time. So, was that so freaking good? Um, I just got to say that when people ask me about him and and I feel blessed. He's become a dear friend and uh people say, "Is he cool as he seems?" I'm like, "No, he's cooler. He the man loves his wife. He loves his kids. He's a hard worker." And uh I think you got the a little glimpse of just kind of two people having a great conversation. Here's the cool part. Matthew is a successful actor, one of the most successful in the world. And when he decided to take his life experience and make it a course, we got to work with him. He got to use some of the same exact strategies that all of you have the opportunity. And I took some notes and I want to share it. But there's something really cool I got to share with you guys. His course, Roadtrip, is an 11 out of 10. It's one of the greatest courses I've ever been a part of. We sat in the other room for a week straight till midnight laying it out. Then he came back and we filmed it for a week. People went nuts over it. It's one of the bestselling courses in history. And right now it's still for sale. You can go buy it for 497 bucks. But here's the cool part. When we got off the interview, I said to him, "Hey, you want to do something a little crazy?" He's like, "Of course. I always want to support you." Here's what we're going to do. Anybody who already enrolled in the mastermind business system, you could pull up that slide. If you rolled in the mastermind business system or you do while we're still at the event, Matthew has agreed to give you his course, Roadtrip. If you go online, it's 497 bucks. You can go to his website and see it. But if you enroll in the M Yeah, that is a wow. Randall and Francesca and and Andy and Nikki. Yeah. And that's that's on him. That's his offer to us. It is so freaking good. So if you have it and you've been through it, you can share. if you haven't and you enroll in the mastermind business system while the event's going on, we'll make sure you get it. So, so excited. But I had a couple notes. I can't go without talking sharing a couple of things here. Um, he wrote down I love when he was talking about his experience rather than advice or expertise. And and we've been, isn't that been a theme? It's not just about giving advice or being an expert. It's like, no, this is the way I did it. And he evolved to say, even if you don't know or you did it wrong, you could share what you did wrong or raise your hand and say, I don't know that part. I thought that was so powerful. We all have to believe that we're our own VIP. I loved that. Um, stop stepping in the same pile of [ __ ] Excuse me. I'm just going to say it the way he said it. Raise your hand if you've stepped in the same pile before. Some of you don't like raising your hand because we've all done the same silly things. So, just make sure history is not repeating itself in the wrong way. That's how I take it. Right? I love this one. Don't get stuck in skepticism or cynicism. Don't get stuck there. It's stuck there because it's easy with all the negative media and the negative friends. It's like, "Yeah, I'd love to do my own thing, but maybe it's the wrong time. Maybe I'm too old. Maybe I'm not good at tech. Maybe all this crap that that skepticism, cynicism that comes in, that's not how you live into your full potential. So, don't get stuck there. You're meant for more. And how do you do that? You got to believe. And and the other thing I loved, he said, "We can always have proof that things are wrong." Isn't it true? Isn't it easy to find proof? Tony said this yesterday. Isn't it easy to find proof things are messed up? But can't you go find proof of what's right? Did you see proof of regular people doing extraordinary things over the last two days? Can you be in at the m go inside the mastermind Facebook group and see hundreds, even thousands of thousands of people changing their lives? You can always find proof. Find the proof that serves you, not hold you back. I love the ending. Don't regret not going for it. Whose dreams are you chasing? Go chase yours. Go chase them. Life's too short not to. And then the fear of not finding out. If you got to find out, you got to find out. Well, what an amazing day, too. I'm so freaking stoked. Now, I just have a few more minutes. I want to give away some fun prizes because you guys took action. But here's what I want to say. Do whatever it takes to be here tomorrow, day three. That's when it all comes together. I'm going to share my story, teach method to show you how to deliver like a pro. Deliver with confidence. It'll change the game. When you think of your teaching points and how you're either going to teach them or film them, when I go through story teach tomorrow, you'll be like, I could do that. No problem. We have Lisa Nichols tomorrow. If you know her, you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, she's going to change your life. Prepare to go a little bit to church tomorrow. We got Gary Brea coming. It just it was nonstop on what you guys uh the posts, the videos, I I truly was up way too late. And I got to say, the aha moments, the the solution statements, the messages you shared, I I mean it. I'm proud of you guys. I I I'm I'm It's the best group I've ever had. This is hands down the best group. And I loved every group up to this point, but you guys are killing it. And again, I said this and I'll say it again. I get to see your future. If you're ready to go allin, we have the capabilities. We have the family. We have the team, the support to make it real. So, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to give away four tickets. If if you already bought or you you you're a part of it, don't worry about it. We'll figure it out. But I want to give away four tickets to the World Summit. It's an event like this except it's eight hours a day and it's where we actually get the work done together. It's an amazing event and this is going to go to four people randomly who went on, did videos, did post. We want to entice you to take action. So, first let's give it up for Dustin. Can we give it up for Dustin? You're getting a ticket to the World Summit. It's a $500 ticket. He says, "I help biotech leaders and innovators amplify their impact through optimizing operations, strategic partnerships, storytelling, and nextgen solutions." Amazing, Dustin. Keep rocking. The rest of you getting the mastermind business system, you get a ticket. So, here's what I say. Be here tomorrow. VIPs in 10 minutes. Again, tomorrow brings it all together. It ties it together. You can realize today can be day one of the rest of your life, not day three of an event. And for those of you thinking about joining the mastermind business systems, here's what I got to say. I'll just leave it at this. Get enrolled and go to bed with peace of mind knowing that you're all in, that you took uncomfortable action, but you're a part of something bigger. And look what we can do together. Thank you for a magical day, too. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. Don't be late. See you guys. [Applause] Hey, hey, hey. Heat. Heat. [Music] I got a [Music] confession deep in the dirt streeting at the screen every day and night. I miss the rush of living right. [Music] [Music] just that [ __ ] was amazing. Can we take it back? We got this drama in our lives every day and night. Go get your cigarettes used to have to work for that wait line up. [Music] We have this drama in our lives. [Music] Has it finished? Why you asking me now? What type of question is that? Is the album finished or do we have a few more songs to go? Oh, we are not done yet. Okay, I've heard you. I've heard you all this rock. Tell me. [Music] That's just all I say. Then they call me the truth. I said no. Ain't no need to finesse. They don't see what I don't know. I love all my [Music] I know what they're going to say. Got the nerve to come in my lane. I won't give you none of my time. Keep that energy done. And it's right here. We just go sing about the most like [Music] That's just all I say. Then they call me mommy. Afro beats. I don't understand it, but I just like it. It's making me move. I'm shackle shackle. I'm doing all the all the new ones that I see on YouTube. I'm just doing it. I can't I can't do the but I'm That's right.
