Introduction to Greek Alphabet: First Four Letters

Welcome to our channel learning Greek is a wonderful experience as you will soon find out. To start with, the Greek alphabet has 24 letters. Let's start with the sound Α α. it is written as a capital letter and as a lowercase letter and the sound which is pronounced in Greek is called Άλφα, Α α. Τhe second letter of the Greek alphabet is called Β β or Βήτα. Τhe capital letter is written like that the lowercase letter is written like this Νow, the third letter is Γ γ. Ιt is called gamma and you have to pay attention to the fact that Γ γ is just pronounced, it's not gamma, it's Γάμα, it's much softer in Greek. The fourth letter for our today's class is Δέλτα or Δ δ, Δέλτα. Once again attention, because it's not D d, it's Δ δ, much softer once again. Νow, let's make a quick revision to the letters we have learned up to now. So, we have the sounds Α α, Β β, Γ γ, Δ δ. Let's practice a bit the letters using them in different combinations. So, Αβ, Δαβ, Γαδ, Βαδ. As you can see, always when we write something in Greek, we use a capital letter to start with. Now, that's all for our today's class.
