The flexibility and resilience of these lanterns sparked Lis development of a technique in which he stacks and glues thousands of paper sheets, which he then carves to create dynamic sculptures capable of expanding and contracting. Often made up of up to 20,000 sheets, his work merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary art. Lis creations have been featured in solo museum exhibitions worldwide, earning him numerous prestigious awards throughout his career. The exhibition is currently on view and will run through February 2, 2024. _ Tip Off showcases the diverse works of the eight participating artists, discusses the role of paper media, and exposes and denounces the issue of censorship: a lack of freedom of speech and regulation under the authoritarian regime.
