How to Play Galactic Cruise

Overview

  • Game Theme: Players are supervisors at a company offering luxury space cruises. The objective is to become the next CEO as the current CEO is retiring in three years.
  • Player Count: 2 to 4 players.
  • Game Duration: 3 years (in-game time), after which final scoring occurs.

Objectives

  • Goal: Gain the most points by launching successful cruises, managing resources, and accomplishing company goals.

Setup

Initial Setup

  • Place the game board centrally, using the pre-printed side.
  • Market board goes to the right.
  • Shuffle agenda cards and reveal four.
  • Setup progress track tiles based on player count.
  • Company goals require setting up Trackers on the main board.
  • Technology and blueprint tiles are set as per player count.
  • Cockpit and engine tiles are set above the main board.
  • Define guest bonuses randomly.
  • Adjust the marketing board based on player count.

Player Setup

  • Each player selects a color and receives corresponding components.
  • Place player board in front of you with resource trackers set.
  • Two workers start in the break room; expert workers are locked.
  • Initial resources include money, ads, an agenda card, and reputation based on turn order.

Gameplay

Game Rounds

  • Turn Order: First player, then clockwise.
  • End of Game: When the progress track is filled, followed by one final round and scoring.

Turn Phases

  1. Advance Ships (if applicable).
  2. Main Action: Assign a worker, launch a ship, or call a meeting.
  3. Company Goals: Check if goals are accomplished.

Actions

Assign a Worker

  • Place on board location, perform up to two actions.
  • Bumping allowed (cannot bump own workers).
  • Linking: Developments can link to adjacent locations for more actions.
  • Using Other Players' Developments: Requires payment based on reputation.

Launch a Ship

  • Requires a scheduled cruise and sufficient resources.
  • Place worker in launch elevator, follow launch steps:
    • T-minus steps include choosing ship, placing progress Cube, paying resources, scoring cockpit points, adjusting upgrade tokens, and moving worker.

Call a Meeting

  • Return workers to break room for funding bonuses.
  • Perform one available action based on developments connected.

Actions Detailed

  • Acquiring Blueprints: Take up to two blueprints for future ship building.
  • Building Segments: Construct ship sections from blueprints.
  • Acquiring New Ships: Get a cockpit and engine for new ships.
  • Gain Supplies: Exchange money for resources and ads.
  • Build Development: Expand player capabilities via developments.
  • Scheduling a Cruise: Select and commit to a cruise plan.
  • Advertise a Cruise: Sell tickets to guests in the queue.

Special Actions

  • Refill Agenda Cards: Gain visible bonuses, then discard and refill the agenda display.
  • Using Agenda Cards: Play for abilities or resources.

Scoring and End Game

Annual General Meetings (AGMs)

  • Score based on Wings and Cubes at the end of each year.
  • Highest reputation offers scoring bonuses.

Final Scoring

  • Points from resources, money, ads, agenda cards, and blueprints.
  • Reputation track additional points.
  • Segment points.
  • Developments completed bonus.
  • Cockpit scoring.

Tiebreakers

  • Progress Cubes, reputation, cockpit points, and turn order.

  • Standard Setup: Removes pre-printed features, adds randomness.
