go through but let's jump in if you want to turn to Romans chapter 12 verses 1 and two gold I mean we could literally to me actually the these verses are the last school and this one together so beautiful but [Music] um let's just jump into Romans 12 1 and2 kind of dig line upon line each word break them down and then we'll be going through a a lot of the word okay um I'm in the new King James but it has here Paul I beseech you I beseech you therefore Brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice session for school of dying to self it is all over the word of God so important don't want to do a recap but you guys remember all these sessions building onto it's it's like um I'm seeing it more and more it's all over we could literally probably pre preach on this top to the Lord returns so important our whole goal in life is to just see how dead we can become before the Lord returns because the more dead we become the more in Union with him we we enter and the more glory and resurrection power he can shine through he can only shine through fully where death is is matched and um it's key but I beseech you therefore Brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice holy accept acceptable sorry to God which is your reasonable service verse two from last school and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is uh that good and acceptable and perfect will of God so as I've mentioned in in weeks prior isn't it beautiful and you see it this is one of my favorite like mascot verses around these two because you see they marry each other renewal of the Mind and death to self they're one you know um I even have it here in my notes before we begin to break it down you'll notice that death to self and the renewal of the Mind feed off each other as we went over in Prior weeks but if your life were a train your life Your Existence in this temporal world if it were a train a locomotive then intimacy would be the fuel to make it run and the two tracks that you would stay on to to remain in the perfect will of God would be the track of dying to self and the track of the renewed mind I mean you can apply this to so many other analogies but may we never forget these top three um they're very very clear and Jesus walked them out perfectly he never got off of the track of the fully renewed mind The Human Side to him or death to self The Human Side to him and intimacy with the father that's what makes it run so you take intimacy out train a't moving you may think you're on some solid tracks but if you get away from intimacy see that locomotive is going nowhere it fuels at all but then once it's fueled we also must stay on the tracks of death to self and the renewal of the mind because you Veer from that you let deception get in and you pull a track off of you you you know you become conformed back to the ways of this world and you it's a train wreck or you start you you stop denying yourself and and preferring yourself over death to self and that track gets removed train wreck so may all the days I pray the ups and downs the fun Seasons the the peaceful Seasons the war seasons whatever these three may we never leave may you find us I pray everybody under the sound of my voice 10 20 years from now with a burning engine of first and seasoned to love that is piping hot I mean full of coals I don't know what the what the newer engines would run on but I'm I'm visualizing the ones where you just keep pumping colon and it's you know the fire is hot that first love and so we're running but then also may we not be people that start to succumb to the three Umbrellas of the flesh we went over you know lust of the flesh lust of lust of the eyes and the pride of life because those can creep in you start hitting the will of God and notoriety comes or whatever and you start hey I kind of like that and you let the track of death to self start to uh be removed train wreck that's how Ministries go under and things like this or you start allowing deception and doctrines of demons well you know I mean homosexuality we're in a new age now I mean the Bible was written back then we're in a new culture we need to accept it no you're allow you're allowing your mind to be conformed back to the world you're not coming out of the Conformity and being transformed by the renewal of you're my that track you're you're um losing again train wreck train wreck and you guys know I just picked one quick there's so many out there but um you guys know we love homosexuals we love Sinners we hate sin you don't mix the two we love the wicked we hate wickedness and so we stand true you never come off of this book you you can pick many that they contradict this book and you can twist and cherry pick verses if you want but that's just not us anyway I'm getting off on the whole thing so Romans 12 1-2 listen to this Paul says I beseech you therefore Brethren that word beseech there means to beg Paul's begging here I plead with you he doesn't say hey man I advise and just suggest this you know I beg you the Apostle Paul's pleading and begging right here you therefore who Brethren this does not apply to um Sinners I love to always point that out big gap between the two you must be born again there's Twisted doctrines out there that Well everybody's born again they just haven't been enlightened yet their eyes need to be open no you need to repent and be born again you're dead in sin until you become born again and so this is to Brethren and sister and brothers and sisters in the Lord those that are born again if you're not born again nothing I'm talking about in this entire School applies to you you have the luxury of tapping into it should you yield your life unto the uh Risen King who died and and rose again for you and I in the entire world but Brethren super key but he's begging Believers by the mercies of God this is super key um which that that broken down simply means the compassion of God what God's very compassionate about that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice so that I love that it couples The Compassion of God and yes we need his Mercy to do it but you still see here who presents their bodies as a Living Sacrifice you do I beg you to present your you present your body as a Living Sacrifice by the mercies of God oh yeah but it's you know because again there's just some really hyper Grace teachings we're going to hit it pull the rug out from under it again later and again bear with me guys cuz we got uh you know anyway a lot of but I think I think we'll be able to but if we go later just maybe you can catch the archive if you fall asleep or whatever but I'll still be here yaking your ear off um but I I love this yes by his Mercy which is his grace but it's really his compassion you know um as you still present it's it's a bfold application it's a co-operation it's a relationship like there's a part to play on our end and that's what I love about death the self and renewal of the Mind those two tracks completely rely upon you and I God's not going to put he's not going to keep you on those tracks that's where your will comes into it that's why we have to present our bodies as a Living Sacrifice by his Mercy yes but truly studied out that means his compassion favor but also his deep feelings toward meaning God's his his compassionate feelings are even postured towards death to self and a body presented as a Living Sacrifice is so important to him you guys may remember from the first session we we highlighted how the Lord audibly boomed From Heaven over his son all in the context of death it's very very important to God because he knows a dead life is a life that his son can fully shine through a life that's still about itself is a hindered vessel it's a broken system his son can't shine fully through it it's not his plan it messes the whole thing up that's why I sent Jesus Christ to be the perfect plan and model and he lived it out perfectly he's like now you do the same you want to follow me deny yourself take up your cross and so anyway um God always matches death with extreme favor and Grace in his actual emotional attachment by way of his feelings and favorable disposition his God's feelings his emotional compassion towards and and favorable disposition is always attached to death where he doesn't find Death he still loves you but you're not going to find his favorable disposition you're not going to find the mercies of God run alongside anything outside of a Living Sacrifice this is what the Bible says I love this we we're just getting a little too sloppy with painting God of some sugar daddy in the sky with just anything standards because he he loves so much he does love but he's got high pick standards and it looks like his son and you can take it or leave it you've got that side to God as well and I love this Lord by your grace let us not get it twisted and come off of your loving kindness your patience your mercy but let us not just blow by verses like this either that he's got standards and they're very very high and they look like his son and he's looking for Sons and Daughters to rise up and how do they rise up through death for his son to shine through um um but always know that where there's death you're always going to find the strongest wind of God's grace behind it um but yeah you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice uh bodies real quick just breaking down this very slowly this this Romans 121 it's F in Greek body flesh body also I love this word is very personal you know we have the body of Christ in a corporate manner but this verse is talking about you I it's very individ individualistic like it singles you out you know and so it's talking to you and I directly not your husband or your wife or your parents or your children or close friend that you can kind of ride the wave of or cash in a ticket with them it's you and you alone when you stand before the Lord he's going to look you you by yourself remember there's no marriage in heaven you're not going to hang on to the coattail of your husband or hang on to the coattail of your wife and just ride in of your parents that are living for God or your children that that are on fire and you're just kind of religious you're going to stand before Jesus with nobody around he's going to look at you and say did you present your body as a Living Sacrifice that was holy acceptable and reasonable service we're going to get to here in a second this is this is how God sees it this is this is Bible 101 you I I prayed call us higher he is I mean many of you that join the school again I commend you this is not the stuff that you're going to pack out conferences with but he's looking for people that will present their bodies by his Mercy oh yeah by his grace but try and take back your body and become a living self infatuated you know the opposite of a sacrifice living self-centered person instead of a Living Sacrifice watch if the mercies of God or The Compassion or his favor favorable disposition is anywhere to be found it won't be does he love you yeah but his favorable disposition his mercies that which he checks off as reasonable holy and acceptable as a service before him it ain't going to be there so I just don't want us to get to heaven one day and think well but I I was told he's a loving sugar daddy in the sky and I can enter in by the throne of grace you can but these verses are powerful and they're in here for a reason and uh may we yield to them Lord not by head knowledge alone but may the spirit of our mind be renewed right here the core of who we are um but I uh I have here you you will either have e uh sorry you will have either lived an ongoing life of death to self or an ongoing life of preferring self and the latter is not going to be glor the Glorious surprise most are expecting to run into on that final day I'll say that again I just want to make sure we heard it at least once in our life real clear in in love when we stand before the Lord one day I'm just trying to again condone like may we be a people that read these verses and realize wait Paul's begging me it must be important it must be something he lived because he always said things like this follow me as I follow Christ so if he's begging us to walk in it he must have walked in it and his history sure shows to be true he's begging me to present my body but but I'm taking away from the grace of God no you're actually tapping into the grace of God death to self Taps into the grace of God and and we we'll further impact that from a different angle later on different verses but um you will have either lived an ongoing life of death to self let this be our our path let this be what what we come under I'm telling you it's the Victorious way uh you you will have either lived an ongoing life of death to self or an ongoing life of preferring self and the latter is not going to uh be the Glorious surprise most are expecting to run into on that glorious day I promise you if even 65% of your life and 70 to 80% of your life is preferring you you live a self- preferred life what I prefer in in the name of the Lord and I know all the verses and how to quote them and I show up to the Bible study but I prefer me on that day capital D it's not going to be that Glory surprise you thought I promise you because of what the Bible says because of what the Bible says but a life presented as a Living Sacrifice that's reasonable holy and acceptable before God and that capital D a y is going to be glorious and so let us just h have our minds renewed now and realize this is the way I realize the masses aren't going this way and and never expect them to it's anti world and actually anti- a lot of the church or what we think is the church so just go ahead and sign off on that one now and and realize it's not a it's not going to be voted in by popularity not going to have a lot of the masses jumping on the ship with you and joining in hurah you know it'd be like you know you all know we used to take these um cruises each year just go get lost in the presence of God and a lot of people get one saved on the ships and it was great but You' had all these other ships titled many things and their Journey was under something they'd be packed out for everything about themselves Fame and Fortune lust of the Flesh and eyes and prod all this and then you got this one ship called Death to self deny yourself take up your cross that ship ain't selling many tickets so let's just know that's the one we're going for because Jesus hopped on it and his his band of Apostles that were 12 I mean you know the masses were were coming around the Miracles and the multiplication of food and all this but he thin the crowds quick when he said eat my flesh drink my blood anyway so uh sacrifice real quick in Greek thusia I'm probably butchering that but it it means I kill or killed butchered sacrifice offered so when Paul's saying hey I'm begging you to Pro for you to present your body meaning the Lord's not going to do this for you when you when you start to do that you'll activate God's grace and mercies and favorable disposition oh yeah but you have to do it and you know as a Living Sacrifice well that sacrifice is an it's a living one we're going to go here here in a second meaning it's ongoing it's ongoing butchering an ongoing sacrifice offered that that's wholly acceptable and reasonable service um living Greek that I just touched on it means ongoing for a lifetime so this this is another thing um that's so beautiful and I I pray this is you know please hear me I pray this is would become normal like this type teaching this belief it's just Bible is healthy it produces real authentic disciples that are unshakable I pray when we start winning people to the Lord and start to disciple them we we give them this stuff right out of the gate and if they get shook early that's fine just like the rich man you the Lord is how he does it he'll check motives of your heart quick he won't give you more than you can handle but you better believe he'll start checking things real fast and pruning and if you care more about anything other once you set your hands to the plow then you aren't worthy of the Kingdom if you start looking back and pulling a Lot's wife you know stunts salt you become so you know that we would start really trying to live this more and more but pouring into our children this way in love you you can feel it it's like the Bible way and we start raising up disciples that the Lord's drawing in in this way we we don't want to candy coat things because soon as shaking comes it's like we can't be putting sand under their feet let's build them on the rock of the word so um but living it's ongoing for a lifetime meaning when I'm 80 guess what I need to wake up that day and and hear Paul echoing in my ear begging me to be a Living Sacrifice that day why because it's holy sacred set apart acceptable before God so meaning wait so what's unacceptable not being a Living Sacrifice wait is that what you're saying some days where I'm not a living s yeah it's not acceptable to God that's a little hard well then find a new book but it's it's not going to leave you lead you to Salvation th this is the beautiful way it's pure it's like it's like our King who walked it out and Paul and all of them but um I have here yeah I love that it that it says living because it holds us accountable for a lifetime well man I've paid a price all these years I can just kick back relax and turn it a little bit about me why why end we and strong let's let's be more dead when we're 70 80 90 100 whatever than we were now like we're trying to live this thing we're trying to sign up for a lifetime like we're a covenant people we're not flaky and flighty we're not in and out that that's not that's not Jesus he's the same he's the same he finds verses like this it says oh yeah D where do I sign no not no I'm not we're doing a lease here we're not doing 6 months or 3 years life lifetime lifetime ink permanent ink I'm not coming out of this one that that's what we want you know so um holy just just touched on it you say what is what is presenting our bodies as a Living Sacrifice what is it to God is Holy very very holy which in Greek means sacred set apart saintly even saintly even and I have here the life of death is extremely sacred and set apart and most certainly it is that set apart as the broad path is filled with love of self it's set apart in a s saintly way and sacred and holy but also it's set apart meaning it it's a small group it signs up for a Living Sacrifice I'm telling you even creeping in the church this thing is becoming all about me and the next next big and better me and how I can no dead me that's the Bible he be glorified Paul said stuff like for me to live as Christ meaning I don't we're going to go there in a second like Philippians I don't I don't there's nothing in it for me for me to live is Christ it's not Paul there is nothing in it for me you know but anyway get I'll get ahead of myself but um it's definitely set apart though because the the the life of a Living Sacrifice is is a narrow path like few find it you know and yeah I have here um one of the main reasons the narrow path is so narrow uh that leads to life is because there's no self on that path self is not welcomed on it only dead ones walk the truly narrow path you know cuz a lot of us think well we think more broad when we think of the Narrow Path like oh sin can't can't go on on it or blatant obvious sins but if if Jesus said the Narrow Path leads to life broad path to destruction that's interesting he also said if you lose your life meaning deny yourself you'll gain it wa The Narrow Path leads to life if I lose mine I gain life means self's not on the Narrow Path like if you think you're going to bring a life that's not a living sacrifice and squeeze down that narrow path you're not going to be on it I promise you don't deceive yourself the narrow path is a path of selflessness that's why it's also set apart there's not many people on it and and I'm I'm trying to get better there I'm preaching all of us like help us Lord go there you know less um less self and we all know um the Epistles to Timothy it says the last hours everything's the the stocks in are skyrocketing in this last hour in the last days perilous times why men will be lovers of themselves and so it's all going that way uh Matthew 24 lawlessness will increase why Lord because the love of many will grow cold wherever love biblical love grows cold selfishness skyrockets because love seeks not its own so wherever love is called old selfishness has guaranteed come in because true biblical love seeks not its own and it lays its life down and so the Narrow Path it's it's selfless um good I'm making some some Headway acceptable Greek holy acceptable so so Paul you know present our bodies that's on us doesn't say hey I beg you to let the Holy Spirit present your body no you present yours and in doing it the mercies of God will be right there but you don't do it mercies of God his love is there but Grace good luck you want to stay in Pride now he he actually resists that he ain't going to a't no Grace there he gives grace to the humble yeah you're not going to find the mercies of God anywhere around anything outside of um that which is not a Living Sacrifice but acceptable should holy Listen to What a a body presented if you and I would start to think this way and wake up again tomorrow and say Lord how not works not legalism Bible not works not legalism Bible Jesus how today Lord can I and we're going to get further in some practicals and scriptural how do I present my body to you as a Living Sacrifice an ongoing I I don't want this to stop for days or weeks and months and years like I'm I'm in help me and then what does that look like to you God goes I'm glad you asked Paul wrote it in Romans 12 it's holy it's very saintly to me very set apart so when people aren't a Living Sacrifice it's not holy when they're they're bent on themsel and self-centered and and prefer themsel and esteem thems and commend themselves is not holy it's not holy I'm looking for my son in him but it's sure obscure he's hard to find in him CU he shines through death and there's not a lot of death going on so I can't see my son thank the Lord his blood's washed him and and they're still born again but that's about all I'm working with now but death is Holy what else acceptable in in this is uh well pleasing look at listen to this in Greek to God well pleasing what's a Living Sacrifice to God well pleasing fully agreeable meaning God's in full agreement with it and it's approved by him death is what is fully approved of by God this is why he boned Out of Heaven over his son and made sure it was audible so hey Humanity not only log this for the Eternal Word of God but even you currently in this hour hear me over him in the context of death this is what I fully approve of this this is well pleasing to me you're my son in whom I'm well pleased it it's what he approves of so if I'm not a Living Sacrifice what is that disapproved no but God loves me he's a good God he loves you but he doesn't approve full out God's God's full out disapproval is on anything outside of a Living Sacrifice that's just Bible I'm not I'm not saying that I'm just the mouthpiece for it and and I love that it's just pure you can feel you can feel the water of his word there it's clean it's that Crystal sea but when when he sees self he God stands in disapproval he's not condemning he's not angry a bony finger he loves us he's full of patience slow compassion slow to anger full of Mercy but Romans 12 is super clear what's acceptable to him though is a Living Sacrifice you bring anything up to him that's not a Living Sacrifice not acceptable he's truth as well he's righteous he's just that's something else we need need to realize in that you know but um I have here but he loves me I'm always accepted in the father's arms this is what the scripture says enter in boldly through the throne of grace I know all these are quoted it earlier but what's acceptable is a Living Sacrifice um I have here he does love you but he is only in full approval when death is in the equation I think this is very helpful for us help me Lord and he's full of grace when we're not hitting the mark thank the Lord so so patient that's why I'm mentioning all these other sides but let's not walk in deception let's not live in a diluted version of who we think he is and who we think his word is like what good is that going to do you know what I'm saying it's like we're drinking polluted water we're think no it's clean it's pure this is great no it's not it's polluted it's watered down it's giving you a false perception of who he is and his standards and what he's looking for let's go for Purity let's go for the clean way and his calling for living dead people ongoing so we can be holy acceptable and um and then this next one reasonable service this is what it is what's what's a Living Sacrifice again it's holy acceptable to God and it's what he sees as reasonable service Greek for reasonable rational logical within reason um Divine reasoning I here the only thing reasonable rational and within reason to God is you and I being dead for a lifetime isn't that awesome isn't that exciting I'm teasing but it is it is because it's the Bible but I'm just meaning you know these aren't the shout you down type messages but it's it's it's clear the only thing reasonable rational and within you know within reason to God is you and I being dead for a lifetime ongoing death is our reasonable service so as soon as you want to jump on the selfish train of what's in it for me or my desire first or where's the benefit to My overall good in this thing see me use me what about me me me and that's at the root of it you have just left what is wholly acceptable and within reason to what God recognizes recognizes as truly Eternal service his job is to have compassion and delegate favorable Mercies in in this equation breaking down Romans 121 his job is to have compassion and delegate favorable mercies his his favorable emotional disposition to you our job and reasonable service is to become living sacrifices May may this be the Sweet Spot of life may we become so dead that we we love this Lane and we just don't want to get out of it because it's so much like Jesus you know I just think our flesh has been screaming for so long and getting its way for so long in so many areas that we don't even know talking to me for sure I think we I I often I've said this before in other schools I often think we think we're further up the road than we are and if so praise God but if not not not a good mentality to have is we and it's normally the plank in everybody else's eye comes in when you start thinking that way CU you just think yeah man that is true about so and so like man I I died to that a long time ago so hopefully you know um uh but also what I love about this reasonable service here is that it's merely depicted as par for the course it's reasonable I love that it didn't say astounding service reasonable you mean if I I choose death for a lifetime for a God I can't even see it's reasonable yep it's not astounding or remarkable that has a but it's a little more has a little more pop to a little more wow no it's reasonable par for the course I love this is the I'm telling you this is the this healthy I love this it's not even expressed as some outstanding portrayal of human accomplishment but is simply what's reasonable it's what is expected it's like what God expects I I kind of like that it's and to me it just it's just the way it's just the way it is and I think the apostles saw it this way I think we've gotten too soft and away from you know everything everybody needs a trophy and a wow and I'm telling you right now the Bible says the standards of the word of God which are God's standards and they're very high they're they're on that Highway of Holiness and he calls a a life that signs off to being dead for forever for his glory get my will out of it it looks like Jesus not my will never my my Will's never in this thing not not why I'm here that that's reasonable service not remarkable reasonable it's it's logical it's rational that makes sense that's see amazing I do think God's he's he booms from Heaven he's proud of it but at the same time I kind of like when the verse slips these in there the verses slip this in here like it's reasonable it doesn't put it as some big you know amazing feat you accomplish it's just what's expected I just love that um so and I have here um there are many what appear to be super saints that completely disregard these type verses uh meaning they do not sorry meaning they do not align with them or abide by them these type verses Right Here We repass Them super quick or we quote them because they pop and they they kind of connect to a sermon that makes a point hit home and all this and other but when we go to live trying to live it it's like nah I'm good I like these other ones that one's way down the list and and it actually super high on the list of like Paul Peter and John and these guys James um but meaning they do not align with them or abide by them and it will be evident in heaven one day that all uh to all that this was the case it will be evident to Heaven one day that this was the case you may not see it now but if we run from verses like this now and build these big Ministries that fool people that also don't follow by these verses because the thing is especially nowadays with what we have at our fingertip tips and algorithms and what you can pull and strings and and all this smoking mirrors whatever catchy catchy pitches and and all this um you can build something and it look profound but you can duck and Dodge these type verses to where you're like I don't I don't think I want to be a Living Sacrifice I don't know if I want to pray that way and and go that route I want want to just camp out mainly on the ones that benefit me and uplift me which God blesses but these are you're not getting around these you're going to have to duck and Dodge them and the problem is you're going to reproduce what you are and the people that will normally follow you will duck and Dodge them because you're not you're not living it or preaching it and then you got to a bunch of selfish vessels a bunch of living self-centered vessels not sacrifices walking around and God's favorable disposition's not there and on Surface you can fool people but in heaven you can't and when we get to heaven one day it's going to be really clear like whoa who are they never heard of them but Heaven knew of them because they were a living sacrifice for like 50 years straight until they they crossed over and obeyed verses like this and and this is what we want to be super obedient super yielded super broken super dead super yielded super obedient super broken super dead help us Lord Contrition of spirit contrite I mean uh help us Lord um but I have here you are only deep deep in God to the level at which you are dead I don't say that so be like see how deep I am I'm better than you you know give me the the uh big new gold medal so I can Flash it around and compare against everybody else that's not what I'm talking about for his glory this is why we're seeking like the deeper waters and the maturity for his glory because hence this class and the pride of life and all that stuff we're seeking the deeper place in hopes that nobody even knows or cares like that's unless he gets Glory some that that's under it all just people will crop out some little catchphrases and twist things and I always want to make sure I'm balance fully where I'm coming from but you're only deep in God and also say this too so we're not fooled a lot of people think they're deep because of many other things on the resume and they're not dead and I'm telling you the biblical true perception not perception truth actually the biblical um underguard of of just clear truth in the right way is you're only deep in God to the level which you're dead and Jesus walked that out perfectly you know we just often equate deep to many other things and I and I love them all typically if they're biblical but true depth and maturity in God is matched to how dead you are that's what the Bible shows that's what's holy and acceptable and reasonable but I I flew to heaven and did synchronized swimming with the 24 Elders in the crystal seat that's awesome but did you come when you came back were you a Living Sacrifice well I think I am well the fruit's not backing a ton of this book and and your children aren't looking the you know whatever sorry I'm not trying to but I kind of am I I went to heaven and man I was flying in tandem with the four living creatures you should have SE that's awesome when you came back were you a Living Sacrifice because that's what the Bible says is Holy acceptable and reasonable service and I love fly with the I love all that please please hear me in Balance I'm just saying there's a lot of misconceptions out there of what's deep and what's mature and what we get wild about and I but again go for all that I love it Bible yes more Lord I know a man caught up you know to the paradise third heaven Paul I love it all so you guys know we're for it I'm just my point is depth and maturity is is found in these type verses that marry the renewal of the Mind verse one's like yeah Paul's like Yeah I'm begging you die and point two have the spirit of your mind renewed get out of the Conformity of this world be transformed by the renewal of your mind and man we'll be good we'll be good boys you bypass these these top two verses we're going to have a a long road ahead of us a long rough road crooked pass going to see the same side of the mountain many times but you yield to these we're good this is where the generals live and and I'm praying to be set of us while we synchronize with the 24 I love all that please hear me I'm not I'm not trying to be I'm just being factious this matters though this really matters you can only put on Christ to the extent at which you are dead in Christ Galatians 5:24 and those who are christs have crucified the flesh Romans 13:14 but put on the Lord Jesus Christ Christ and make no provision for the flesh you hear this the the matching of death to self with the level of putting on Christ or Christ shining in you you know we we went over Galatians 2 uh Sundays ago of the level which you're dead is the resurrection matching of Christ through you so you can only put on Christ biblically to the extent at which we would we will die um Galatians 3:27 for as many of you who were baptized into Christ who died in Christ have put on Christ but any of any of you your life that still want to come out of that water and live and fight for its rights and become self-centered that didn't stay baptized into Christ can't you can't put on Christ in those areas they they're oil and water they butt heads they they war against each other the flesh Wars against the spirit um yeah I do want to expound on this real quick because it's it's very it's quite prevalent and I I love where it's coming from I know what it means and and there's some great fruit that can come out I I just think it can get IM balance sometimes if we're not careful is all but um so so that and again like we're not trying to just honoring as possible and and we all need the Lord and his word more but you you will run into you may have already some pretty topheavy teaching that focuses only on our identity in Christ and we are the righteousness of Christ and you they'll say a lot of things like don't be sin Consciousness which these are truths but I'm just trying to counterbalance them from a full perspective in the word because they can get I feel like they can get this way and you can start to see the fruit through you know the extreme that's that's actually the Bible it it puts great emphasis from truth on both and yet we shouldn't have a sin Consciousness but you you should be aware of Flesh and killing it and being a Living Sacrifice and putting to death the Deeds of the Flesh and and the Bible is over and over over again and so I just think again out of great intentions definitely a bunch of beautiful verses I just think when you open them up from Full context or use other ones to fill in some of the gaps you see you see a fuller um perspective that healthy is all and so you'll hear certain things of like hey um we are the righteousness of Christ and they'll pull from like Colossians 3 we'll go here in a second but it'll they'll cherry-pick certain verses instead of pulling back the full scroll and go to the verses before and after where Paul's he's not running away from this stuff is what I'm saying he's not only focusing on our identity in Christ and not being intentional also about putting to death the Deeds of the Flesh and that are that is so prevalent throughout scripture all throughout the New Testament I'm literally not even pulling any Old Testament verses tonight and you could um backward and forward and it's it's projected from the old to the new of course but anyway there's a there there can be at times a real topheavy focus on it's just like faith and Grace that there's so many um I I really I'm praying about it I I may end up jumping into a series in our for our church on on the Sundays that would be many of you all um where I literally come at these sides that that I I just love I love the the full truth of God his nature and his word and will and ways and and you can often just see these extremities that pull verses and they're so real to some people that they major on it and they leave out these balancing verses you know like God's loving kindness like it's his loving and it's a verse his loving kindness leads to repentance we need his love is it his kindness leads us to repentance kindness love and kindness yeah but what about Godly sorrow leads to repentance and the reverence of awe and fear of God and and the severity and they're both beautiful in the right timing of how and who and God what God's want to use by his his voice and way and and purpose but when you do this only it it gets it can get out of balance so you can use the word isolated and get imbalanced on the full word and that I don't I'm not a big fan of and so we all need Grace we're growing and you know I certainly haven't arrived but anyway this one though it it's very topheavy on our identity in Christ and stay there because then you won't be sinc conscious and if you're not sinc conscious you won't feed the the ways of the sin the problem with that is though a lot of times and and I agree to the the truth in it but there's a bigger truth of the problem often happens is we become seared conscious and that's kind of what was alluding to on Sunday morning we we so Focus like isn't it interesting that Jesus said to follow him deny yourself but no don't focus on yourself don't don't be sin conscious and self-conscious be Christ conscious focus on your righteousness of the righteousness of Christ yeah yeah no definitely do that but also it's funny that the Lord said deny yourself he clearly pointed he didn't he didn't hide or sh shun it like like run from it like no just don't like that's where you focus is where you'll go there is truth there but sometimes you got to recognize you know what there's pride in me I got to die there help me Lord and I'm going to say say no and put that off and choose to put to death the Deeds of the flesh by the spirit Galatians 5 I mean it's all over the word you know so that's that's all why sometimes that can get in Balance because the word doesn't show it that way to where it's only but anyway Jesus says deny yourself so to deny yourself you you have to know there's self there and that you are in the equation you need to deny it he says that first then he says take up your cross which means kill yourself and you have to physically do that I'm not doing that for you he he had self and your focus on being the first two then he said follow me and you have to do them all of course that's how often even with the word I I'll pull Psalm 119 where he says I've hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you and so that's the first focus on the word so I don't sin but also it says I've I've rid myself from every evil way so I can heed your word you see they're both in there they're both needed and so um I would just be careful sometimes because that they would even come at teachings like this and like don't talk so much about the flesh just focus on your identity in Christ and I'm not focusing on anything other than the word which is yes let's be predominantly um in love with the Lord that I've h a million times your intimacy with God fall in love with him he's that fuels it all you can't even die yourself without loving him but also how do you present your body as a Living Sacrifice you know what I mean and and then all these other verses we're going to say um go over that there are there's a clear intentionality and focus on both ends die to self follow Christ and so um but anyway a good example we'll go there real quick um Colossians chapter 3 um normally they'll pull just single vers out like 9 and 10 let's do that first right Colossians 9 39 and 10 when you back up and go 5 through1 13 you're like wait a minute Paul's talking about he's clearly not not doing this to flesh he's not going nope NOP my identity is righteousness because what can happen is you can start to get into a make believe world and get a seared conscious we're definitely not into sin Consciousness at all we're into we're into Christ Consciousness the mind of Christ loving God above all but we're also in the truth and you start neglecting the death to self and denial of self and what happens is you you want have a sin conscious you have a seared conscience and you can't even feel conviction anymore because you hadn't been saying no to that flesh for years and you've been yielding which the Bible says clearly is not even following the spirit anymore when you yield to the Flesh and my selfish preference and what I want and and so the Holy Spirit goes yeah no it's there kill it holy spirit's like super clear he's not trying to say no no just don't you know no just focus on your righteous your identity in Christ do that for sure but at the same time don't be gullible and in denial because you can get a seared conscience in doing that that's why the Holy Spirit convicts of sin in flesh and and so I just think it's a a fuller perspective and just a Biblical one because the apostles didn't play around with it they they're called a spade a spade on it but anyway verse 9 through 10 watch this um they'll say things they say things like this uh do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of him who uh created him right since you look at his P you've put off the old man no you're in Christ now you are the righteousness of Christ just focus on that you're good and again I get some some healthy truth in it I would just say if that's your Mo for life and that's what you're riding on it it's not very um supported from a full scripture perspective it it I feel like it's it's going to you're going to run into some issues cuz then you back up so you read that only and that's what the normally quote verses like this like you've put off the old man he's not there you're the righteousness of Christ just focus on that and you'll be good and then you just kind of think yeah and you kind of live in a make believe world and you go into denial like no and you just I've seen this I'm telling you where Believers quote them so fast and then they almost start to deceive themselves and flesh is like rocking in certain areas of their life and they just no but I'm the and it's more like denial and the holy spirit's like no no back up to verse five where I clearly tell you put off why in verse 9 is the flesh put off I told you to put it off and put to put to death the Deeds of the flesh but watch verse 5 therefore put to death your members well I thought I was already dead I thought I had the right well yeah you can be but you there's also a putting off and you know even like the renewal of the mind that's why the Super Key therefore put to death your members which are on the earth fornication uncleanness passion evil desire covet covetousness which is idolatry because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience in which yourselves once walked when you lived in them verse 8 but now you yourselves are to put off all these oh man somebody just quoted me verse n that I was already I had already put them off yeah because verse 8 told me to see so you just I just think it's it's health not to get too bogged down in other other doctrines I think many of us are together but I just don't want somebody to come you know behind this or or have you already have some of that in your mind and live in a makeb believe world for years to come and just think but I'm and you're quoting all these verses but you're letting your flesh go rampant and the Lord's like hey deny that take up your take take up your take up your deny that and he's like you still Haven started following me because those two have to come into fruition first before you can follow follow me and we think we're deep disciples and all this stuff and we're quoting all these verses and we're very self-centered and we're very seared and we cannot because these little disobediences start off and then you can hear imbalan Theology and it and it supports it and you become seared and again I I get the importance and significance of focusing on the things of God that's why First Love and Intimacy in his word and the renewal of the mind but also when we read through the book it's like why are they highlighting cuz they're not in some makeb believe world you know what I mean and um and it's helpful anyway and I think we'll hit that again here in a minute but um man it's so good you can even go go through first 13 and see where I'm getting at but with all that but uh I have here there must be a putting off a dying to self presenting our body as a Living Sacrifice if if if I'm the righteous of Christ he's Paid It All I'm telling you this is the hyper Grace it it can't stand when you start talking real Faith because wait no you're you're talking about Works brother it it was all done by his grace no through faith and faith without works is dead read the Bible read the Bible we've got to cooperate with this book anyway I'll start getting passionate on that but um there must be a putting off a dying to self in order to allow Christ to fully reign in and through our new nature which is our Born Again spirit there must be a denying you and a following of him there there is an intentionality placed upon both in the Bible so when people say no just forget all that you Jesus Paid It all he did but the Bible still makes a clear distinction of putting an intentional focus upon dying your to you denying of you present your body a Living Sacrifice and follow him put off the old put to death the Deeds of the flesh this is all new testament that you may be alive in Christ do not succumb to the the desires and passions of the flesh because it Wars against the spirit I mean this is all of this is written to Christians you know um uh but anyway um aware of Flesh yeah there's an intentionality placed upon both aware of Flesh enough to say no to it until it is dead and then predominantly of course aware of Jesus to love and follow him all the days of our life so you see that there there's a cuz it's just real and it's true you're not living in some denial make believe cherry-picking versus CU it makes me feel good in my my conscience that can become seared again that's what I was starting to touch on Sunday we didn't go too too deep or anything but I'm telling you um one of my concerns and and I'm definitely always throwing myself in here is as Believers if we're not careful a lot of times we can be a decade up the road and have a seared conscience and think we're just not being convicted but you you can't even feel the conviction anymore because of all the acquired disobediences throughout the years um and we want to be super sensitive all right um Romans 8 chapter U verse uh verses 13- 14 Romans chapter 8 Romans that gold bars all up in it I mean all the Bible does but in in this context in this topic of dying to sell Romans it's like a sledgehammer um Romans chapter 8 verses 13-4 hope you guys are doing good I've been out of the out of the comments for a little bit thank you Quenton he's on it I see that Romans chapter 8: 13-4 you did amazing too Quenton by the way on on Sunday so grateful for you such a rich presence okay let's read it together verses 13- 14 for if you living according to the flesh um you will die but if by the spirit you put to death the Deeds of the body you will live huh I thought I was the righteousness of Christ and and I don't need to be conscious of this type stuff that's I don't know for some reason Paul in Romans 8 saying for if you live according to it you'll die but if you if by the spirit you put to death the Deeds of the body you will live but I've been crucified with Christ no longer I let you we quote all these verses yeah yeah you you have been by the spirit but also now you have to be a living sacrifice as well and put to death the Deeds of the body um for as many as are led by the spirit of God these are the sons of God so um won't be on this one long but basically what he's saying here is a spirit-led life is a dead life right because if if we don't put to de uh put to death the Deeds of the flesh you're you you can't become one with being led by the spirit so a truly spirit-led life is a dead one that's the whole point that's what Romans 8:1 13-14 is saying it's so awesome he starts it off if if you live according to the flesh you will die oh he's talking to Sinners no he's talking to Believers I'm born again though I'm the righteous of Christ he's like yeah I know but it but just if you continue on though living according to the flesh you will die sounds a lot like Jesus saying if you hang on to your life you'll lose it but if you put to death the Deeds of the body and don't love your life even unto death that I I love is in Revelation but you will be led by the spirit and and that's that's unto life and so I I love it you can even see it here it emphasizes putting to death the Deeds of the body and it it equates it and relates it to being led by the spirit so I want to encourage you guys how do I be more led by the spirit ir and life become a Living Sacrifice self-centered people are not led by the spirit holy spirit's gone long time ago so when we come to the fork of the road of flesh and spirit Spirit is saying I'm telling you go this way I know your flesh is yelling everything but but put to death death the Deeds of the flesh but my flesh wants this I prefer this holy spirit's like I'm telling you go this way this is life then you you become spirit-led and I want to encourage us the more and more the start a fresh tomorrow we can do this in a habitual way of like help me Holy Spirit um because you'll constantly that's why we have to be a Living Sacrifice like why do I have to continually Butcher and put to death the Deeds of my body and in an ongoing life of choosing death so I can be led by the spirit because the spirit's never on the path of flesh is self-centeredness and lack of denial to self goes this way and the holy spirit's going this way so how do I be led by the spirit say no to the Flesh and and I feel like the more will yield to him and say no to the flesh you you you put to you become crucified you just become dead and it's like yes Holy Spirit I've I've done this long enough with you you know better it actually hurts it's more costly to me there's more faith involved now more pressure persecution if I go this way I know there's more reviling and accusation whatever but it's unto life and Jesus is becoming glorified and the more you choose to be led by the spirit the more dead you become as soon as you grab a hold to the flesh again and say you know what I I just want to I want to just relax for a bit and just just um have a cheat day in a sense and go flesh you're not being led by the spirit and and it will you will die the wages of sin is death and and so let's go to Romans 6 trying to move quick but healthy and and thorough um chapter 6 of Romans 1-14 so you see it all over scripture the apostles aren't like hey just focus only on they're like hey it's all this is this is what it is here's the map that way is going Death kill that cut off that path kill it go this way Spirit Jesus life put on Christ put off self put to death the Deeds you know a lot of us are just trying to anyway I'm going to get off that teaching but just I would encourage you guys let's go the Bible Way verse one what shall we say then shall we continue in sin that Grace May abound certainly not how shall we who died to sin live any longer in it or verse three or do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Christ uh Jesus were baptized into his death therefore listen to this closely we were buried with him through baptism into death that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of life for if we have been United in the likeness of his death certainly we also shall be in the likeness of his resurrection that this that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves of sin see people will cherry pick um verse three or do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Christ we're baptized into his death verse four therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death just as Christ was raised from the dead in the glory of the father you know see you you were dead to Christ just get off all this dead to self stuff denial of self you you're dead in Christ you're the righteousness of Christ we are now let's align to it and be a Living Sacrifice so we can keep the mercies and favorable disposition of God unlocked because that's the life he's looking for the one Jesus walked that's why it says in verse 5 if we have been United together in the likeness of his death certainly what we also shall be in the likeness of his resurrection um knowing this that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin might be done away with not was that we should no longer be slaves of sin not that we we can't be it's impossible anymore for verse 7 for he who has died has been freed from sin yes we have now if we died with Christ we believe that we shall also shall also live with him knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead dies No More Death no longer has do Dominion sorry over him verse 10 for the death that he died he died to sin once for all but the life that he lives he lives to God verse 11 likewise you also reckon yourselves this is a big one this is where we're going to stop for a second likewise you also reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin well what no no I don't do sin Consciousness I don't I don't reason that I I'm I'm the righteousness of Christ I'm already dead I I don't do all that you know Paul's saying reckon yourselves to be dead well why do I need to reckon if I am and listen what reckon is in Greek decide to be make your logical conclusion to be dead to it and which which again can apply to part of that truth but also we have to reckon and and not going into denial with it either and so reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our lord meaning if we don't reckon ourselves and aren't intentional about it listen listen to what else it means um to maintain or propose which is put forward as an idea or plan or take into account you know and marry that to be becoming a Living Sacrifice do I think we can get to a place where we're so dead that yeah it's not it's not even a focal point yeah and that's where we're trying to go but I'm just concern sometimes that I think we don't ever even get to that point flesh is so vibrant and we just go into denial cherry-pick and verse mode and we never kill anything but what we we have to be intentional and reckon and then a life continually yielded by the spirit not of the flesh totally empowered by loving Jesus Christ which makes it so much easier the the Temptation diminishes remember from session one I think the more dead we are there is little to no temptation so that's where we're going I just think often we're kidding ourselves if we think we already we're already there a lot of us think we've already arrived and then we just go into seared conscious mode and quoting verses that make us feel good in our head and the fruit's not looking too hot often so let's just be real wherever we're at a lot of people are already so dead in areas that it the Reckoning has been done and they are alive in Christ but certain areas of our life that the death's not fully there so we're having to still reckon to become alive in Christ so wherever we're at let's just yield unto the word you know how it's calling us to be and then yeah I love if if you continue to uh read it says therefore verse 12 therefore do not let sin reain in your mortal body don't let it don't allow that that's again an intentional Focus that you should obey it in its lusts but I thought I was dead in Christ how does that even happen that they can't I'm like it's Christ in me I don't I don't have control no you don't let you reckon you're intentional you propose with um a an intentional forethought put forward as an idea or plan that's what it is but you do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it verse 13 and do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness it sounds a lot like Romans 12 do not present your members the other way but present them as living sacrifices you see he's laying it out clear I love this type stuff like hey don't do that run from that shut that off suffocate it don't feed it focus on you know and and so again if we're Christ conscious alone because we're dead praise God but a lot of us Aren't Dead and we're trying to pull that card and it's like we're just become seared and cherry-picking and make believe world and there's no fruit and we're very selfish very self-centered and we act like we're not feeling convicted and our heart seared and that's nonsense Paul would call you to the carpet on that so that that's where I'm getting that just some things that are going topheavy that don't apply with the current life of of some of us you know anyway like Jesus theend Temptations of all the three Umbrellas of the flesh didn't work because he was dead Eve got exposed you see the difference and so um but there's a do not let do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead as your members um and your members as instruments of righteousness to God so good don't let sin have dominion over you it continues on to say but basically I love it they're very clear they're not like going no that's not real this is only no because if you focus only this this won't happen they they're going hey don't do that cut that off be intentional do not present do not be instruments do not present your members this way present them to God a Living Sacrifice unto righteousness and how do we do it loving him keeping him preeminent the focus he's the coal that makes the train run on the track of death to self you can't do it outside of him how do I how do I tap into the mercies and grace of God to die to self by presenting it as a Living Sacrifice he'll match you he's not going to do it for you you present your members you know you present your bodies unto righteousness and as a Living Sacrifice so it's really good um 1 Corinthians 15:34 just move to the right a little bit 1 Corinthians 15:34 one verse I love verse 33 though let boy back up uh do not be deceived evil company corrupts good habits that's a really good one but I'm trying to win them to the lord well if if you ain't winning them they're corrupting your good habits Bible's so clear in Proverbs hang out with a fool and become a fool hang with the wise become wise that's another teaching but I love it love the Bible evil company corrupts good habits if you're not turning their habits unto righteousness and salvation they're corrupting your good ones and they no longer need to be company that's just Bible but hey just be a hearer only don't do the word just hear it sorry just start getting not sorry but you know I mean the Bible's good man we need it verse 34 awake to righteous and do not sin see see what they're saying here to to Corinthians or now the Church of Corinth Believers awake to righteousness and at the same time do not sin for some I love this one why because it has knowing god in here intimacy for some do not have the knowledge of God I speak this to your shame so you know what Paul's saying here that's so powerful we'll hit it again later that to to not awake to righteousness and to not deny sin is to not know God back to my point of intimacy fuels this whole thing and truly knowing him is what allows all this to fall in place it allows the train to even move on these tracks called Death the self and renewal of the mind that are one and the same as we went over before where there's no renewed mind there's not death to self and vice versa but awake to righteousness do not sin for some that don't do these well they don't even have the knowledge of God they don't know him so so let's be real open here with each other areas of our life that we are not awakened to righteousness and we continue to sin those are areas of our life that we don't know him that's just the B well no I know God you you mean to tell me yeah that's what the Bible says he he totally correlates them them there to them this is why truly knowing him is is absolutely vital that's why preaching um prophecy casting out Devil's Mighty exploits were e equated to lawlessness before the eyes of God because it wasn't in true obedience birth from knowing him intimacy this is one of the keys to how do I okay how do I we're going to get that get to it all that in a second and again sorry if we go over but um okay dep to self so powerful how do I do this one way to me the top is know him to intimately to know him is to despise sin the fear of the Lord is to hate wickedness and that's the beginning of knowing god and how do I awaken to righteousness know God know him so to in some of us in the life of as Believers we once were awakened to righteousness that's when you knew him but then you start to go to sleep in righteousness and awake to sin you left knowing him right and this is where it was like well with the Matthew 7 preachers he said I never knew you and with the foolish virgins he says I do not know you meaning I don't I probably did at one point in time but I currently don't anymore you've come off of knowing me intimately this is why this thing is a Living Sacrifice it's an ongoing Bridal theme unto the end it's is love it's not when things are working out or when I'm hungry and want to pursue or I was really close to God when things were dire whatever it it's so powerful and beautiful but when we leave the knowledge of God intimately knowing him you can take it to the bank righteousness goes to sleep and you begin to awaken to sin and flesh because Paul says awaken to righteousness do not sin for some that haven't that that have this backwards they don't know God they don't have the knowledge of God to their shame and so so help us Lord um okay ways to maintain the posture of becoming a Living Sacrifice uh from biblical biblical perspectives Galatians 2:20 oops wrong way Galatians 2:20 and uh and through 21 because now we're talking about like ways to actually posture ourselves biblically I'm going to hit practically in a second but we're going to go through biblically now but okay biblically how do I die to self like I can tell this is super important like wow this is on the heart of God how do I what what are some keys and these are not we're not even going to that you can't cover at all like I you guys from jump in one school it's kind of a life message but um Galatians 2 this is really beautiful here 2 20 20 and 21 um Paul I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live that right there my gosh I preached on this Sundays ago may we quote that someday I I cannot honestly tell you I don't feel like I'm nowhere close to that it is no longer I I who live that is a dead man walking how do I say I have been truly crucified with Christ and not being Deni and cherryi and and make myself feel good and warm and fuzzies how do I really say that though in truth it's called The Eternal Word of God oh when you no longer live wait how do I truly be crucified I know on paper and I've been baptized into Christ symbolically and all this but how do I really like where it matches relationally too and Heaven sees me that way that I've been crucified fully with Christ you no longer are in the equation you're gone you no longer live it's not I wake up and I'm not on my mind today's priorities have nothing to do with me they're fully about God and God's people and his will that's it that's why I Live help us Lord this is powerful this is when the fully resurrected Christ shines through vessels and I feel like there's very few in the earth very few Paul could write it Paul could write that may we be able to say that truthfully not out of arrogance but not not to others just in the secret place before God align with this verse this is the goal Galatians 2:20 is the life goal I have been crucified with Christ for thank you Lord that it's no longer I who live thank you Lord it is no longer I who live this is how you this is how you walked Lord um but continue to to read but Christ lives in me how does Christ live in me when I no longer live and the life which I now live in the flesh I live I feel like the presence of God man his pleasure is on this in the Life which I now live I live in the flesh uh I live by faith in the Son of God this is a powerful key I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I how do I do it by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me verse verse 21 I do not set aside the grace of God for if righteousness comes through the law then Christ died in vain so this is so powerful because um first off that verse 20 man that's the goal uh but I have been crucified with Christ it's no longer I I who live Christ lives in me how does he live in me when I no longer live um but how Paul like give me a practical key please he's like sure keep reading the life which I now live in the flesh which is just a container because I don't have any flesh I no longer live um I live by faith in the Son of God this is so powerful so faith I'm going to run get a clean exit if that's okay please sorry I didn't know I was going to start tearing up okay sorry about that um but but uh faith in the Son of God this is so powerful um like like you please track with me on this connection here because it's really really big um under Every Act of self is actually unbelief this is this is incredible so H how do I live this life In the Flesh and remain dead by faith in the Son of God so you're telling me every time I live alive essentially where I'm not dead then I'm getting outside of Faith yeah you you unbelief is always attached to self this is incredible Revelation um you may some of you may remember we did a school of Faith years ago um we we didn't go deep on the focus of death to self but faith is so powerful entire chapter Hebrews 11 it's impossible to ple that's one of the reasons why is it impossible to please God without Faith it's it's the currency of everything you can't even be born again outside of Faith you can't even be filled with the Holy Spirit outside of Faith but where self is present faith is not wherever sin and flesh reside unbelief is connected this is this is one of the Mysteries and the keys that Paul stated faith in the Son of God cuz dead people stay in faith cuz it's a fully trusted life given over to God every time see we don't realize that often we just think oh it's about us but a lot of time no sorry every time we're operating in self and flesh it's directly connected into unbelief in God his word his nature something to do with God this is why Eve fell and sin came in because she she bought into something that was triggered unbelief in God did God say it was every time flesh and self is present it's attached to unbelief so one of the keys to living a dead life is Faith staying in faith in the Son of God but um I have for you under every deed done in the flesh is lack of trust ultimately in God's word and or nature um this is why when people say they believe in God but their life does not follow his word they are lying or deceived or both period to say you believe in God but you don't live after him and unto his word you're you're either deceived or full out lying or both the there's faith is a yielded life fully um and and then the next one we we'll keep moving here but Faith Super Key watch this next one he he points out all in this context of living a dead life uh I now live in the flesh uh in the Life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me verse 21 I do not set aside the grace of God so there it is again the Salvation components sa by grace through faith they're they're needed but um Faith activates and sustains Grace they're kind of like the renewal of the Mind in death that run together faith and Grace run together wherever you take subtract Faith Grace is nowhere to be found wherever TR now true biblical faith not name it claim it um you know there's a lot of again make believe stuff that's not even really biblical and it's rooted in all kind of twisted stuff that that's not real I'm talking true biblical raw Faith wherever it is Grace is and wherever it's subtracted Grace is not that they cooperate and they're they're needed but Faith activates and sustains Grace you will always find Grace where faith is and Grace where faith is um this is literally what connects Heaven to Earth faith comes by hearing the word again we did a whole school on that maybe um we'll teach on it further but I don't want to get off onto a whole another Focus but this is massive in the life of of dead ones they know faith and they dig deeper into it how how does faith come by hearing of the word and another real major key with faith again not to get we not to spin off on a whole another school or teaching but of faith is is activated by your your voice and this is so obvious in scripture your voice activated um you know if you say to this mountain it'll be cast into the sea if if you believe in your heart even un salvation and confess with your mouth this is why often we'll have people pray out out loud and confess it something happens let there be light when the the I'll would be honest with you there's things even currently that I know God's um directing me in and and I have to remind myself awesome but I'll verbally I'll put voice to Faith and activate because it's just biblical but again back to death to self um in faith and I don't set aside the grace of God which actually accompanies a body presented as a Living Sacrifice so he he this is how you stay in it fueled by intimacy and knowing him we just hit the other massive one in um 1 Corinthians 15 to truly know him intimately but how how also do I live a life that's dead staying in faith and not make believe many people say it name it claim it I'm just trusting in God and all this stuff and it's like but your life's going this way the word of God's going this way like I'm telling you a true person that stays in faith like Paul they're dead because whever flesh is Faith is not and that's usually the the issue you know I I don't have we we don't want to give according to the generous cheerful way the Bible calls us to because if we're honest there's flesh there and we're selfish we want to hang on to ours and we don't trust God's word we don't believe there's no faith there so we cut off that flow um you know I'll get off on a whole list of things but just just just know this wherever flesh is Faith is not fully residing there's unbelief attached to flesh and sin and that's that's a big key to know um when any area of our our life leaves faith belief in God you will notice a Grace left in that area it is impossible yep touch that yep okay good all right let's go back to um Romans 8:1 13-14 just trying to hit some some obvious biblical ways to live a life dead to self Paul gave us a mystery right there how do I do it how do I stay dead but still live in this life of the flesh but yet it's no longer I who live by faith in the Son of God so that's a that's a dead no pun intended giveaway that wherever I'm still alive faith is not there's unbelief somewhere in there there's unbelief in God his word his will way or nature somewhere in there attached to wherever there's self there's unbelief it's like the root of it all and so Lord help us and so how do I grow in faith you you die to you and obey the word but also faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word and and again that's a whole another teaching but faith can be activated verbally and you start to um it's a life liveed this way and I don't set aside the grace so faith and Grace massive that we must stay in um Romans 8:1 13- 14 remember we said for if you live according to the flesh you will die but if by the spirit you put to death the Deeds of the body I have here um one key and I I touched on it super quick on Sunday but staying filled with the Holy Spirit is a major key how do how do I what are some of the the biblical keys to living a life of death to self one is being led by the spirit that Romans 8113 And1 14 tells us we must die to self so we can be led by the spirit how do I be better led by the spirit staying filled with the Holy Spirit saying staying Spirit dominant so to speak well the Bible tells us if we pray in the Holy Spirit we edify and strengthen our Inner Man and it's so much easier to be led by him when you're filled with him right if you're topheavy in your soul and about on E in the tank of your spirit you know not staying filled with the Holy Spirit continually with an ongoing infilling it's very hard to be led by him and very easy to fall back into the Trap of Flesh and be susceptible to yielding to the ways of the flesh so praying in the Holy Spirit is a major major key another thing I see quite common is people that don't pray in the Holy Spirit a lot Stay full of the Holy Spirit slip into deception very easy because he's the spirit of Truth and he keeps things clean and back to the Lord people that aren't baptized in the Holy Spirit and don't stay continually filled with the Holy Spirit they slip into deception quite often usually there there's areas of their life that just don't line up biblically experience comes in and and dupes them as the reality over truth experience will come in and override what's real to them versus the word and the Holy Spirit won't allow that when you stay filled with the Holy Spirit he doesn't allow that he's what keeps your mind renewed he he he's a spirit of Truth and so but staying filled with the Holy Spirit is a massive key on how to live a life dead to the flesh because they they hate each other with lack of better for lack of better terms or analogies they they War Galatians 5 it says that they fight against each other and so which one whichever one you feed more will win that that tug-of-war and that that ability to put to death the Deeds if you feed flesh and you're always yielding into lust of the Flesh and I want to be lazy today or I want what's convenient for me or what's best for me what benefits me and your your focus and your your your Reckoning is not to kill it but to lean into it and you're on E in the spirit you're not going to live uh you're not going to be a Living Sacrifice you're going to be living self-centered but those who will say no to the flesh even I love that Jesus says hey Peter pray the the spirit is willing the flesh is weak like don't don't cater to the flesh right now yield and follow the follow the spirit stay filled with the Holy Spirit one of the main Keys is staying filled with the Holy Spirit praying in the Holy Spirit stay Slamm full baptized in the spirit stay in truth stay sharp to to to his convictions without a seared conscience and and um and then also you can more readily sense what's flesh and what's from that Source it's easier to see it because the spirit of truth you're so full of the spirit of truth you're not deceived into thinking you know that there's no mask over it it's not obscure it's very clear to you you can be like oh yeah that's totally rooted in itself no way holy spirit's like yep his voice is a lot louder and clearer it helps you to maintain a lifestyle of a Living Sacrifice so staying filled with the Holy Spirit asking the Holy Spirit help me help like we prayed Sunday morning please convict me Holy Spirit pull back every callous area of my heart where I have disobeyed in the smallest ways over and over again that became callous please give me a fresh start please have mercy on me I Repent I don't even know because I'm so callous now that what to repent for I I'm I'm feel sure this has happened and I I pray you'd pull back and give me a fresh heart of Flesh again so I can feel your conviction fill me I'm going to yield myself unto prayer and being filled with you and follow help help lead me and help me follow you and each day starting tomorrow when I hit that fork on the road and my flesh is yelling so loud because he's been having he or she has been having the loudest say so for so long and I've yielded to it because it's what I want what brings me pleasure it's it you know I want more this because it it whatever and the holy spirit's like hey come be with me come focus on the Lord come di dive deep in the word well but I would rather this feels better I would rather lust of the flesh lust of the eyes pride of life and when we come to that fork on the road we say man this is hard CU I didn't realize it but I've been I've been going this way a long time flesh is strong actually I thought I was dead cuz I was quoting all these fancy verses that made me feel good and gave me the warm and fuzzies but holy spirit revealed to me I'm there's so many areas of my life I'm not dead in I can't like Paul in Galatians 2 say it's no longer I who live the ton of me is living help me Holy Spirit choose you and be led by you right because for if you live according to the flesh you'll die but if by the spirit so how do I die to flesh by the spirit that's another one of the keys Faith Grace knowing god God staying in faith and Grace which it cooperates with death but knowing him intimately the knowledge of God how do we stay awake in righteousness dead to sin no God oh my gosh know him this is eternal life but how do I abort the way of the flesh that leads to to death where I will die by the spirit so the empowerment of the spirit how do I stay empowered filled wait till you've been doed with power from on high do a Miss for miracles yeah but much more so to live life holy and reverent and sacred and set apart and saintly even acceptable unto God you know but by the spirit you how do I put to death the Deeds of the flesh by the spirit so by the Spirit by Truth by the word by staying filled with the spirit I'm telling you this is massive this this keeps the way clean and pure it's to not stay filled with the Holy Spirit is neglecting one of the most imperative Paramount yet fundamental gifts God has given to Believers this out of heaven and it's it's a person it's the third person of the godhead it's not even it it's him holy spirit's just an adjective it's it's a title but this is this is massive I'm telling you to to miss this one right here is to just go into the the life of a Believer on crutches on one leg and missing an arm or something I mean you don't even have all your ammo like we we we take this for granted so often I'm telling you make up your mind I'm going to be one of these people I don't we've gone over this before I'm going to trust the mystery I don't care if my mind doesn't understand it I'm going I see it clear in scripture unknown unknown tongues and it edifies my spirit in 1 Corinthians and stay full stay slam full and it would be so much easier to put to death the Deeds of the body that Paul's talking about Romans 8 okay half here let's form a healthy habit of continually asking the Holy Spirit to fill us convict us and lead us how do I put to death the Deeds of the body by the spirit fill us convict us lead us and let's try each day to 70% follow him then 80% the next day then 90% the next month or year I mean really um don't be hard on yourself but let's go the Bible Way like help me tomorrow Lord follow you more cuz this is where life is at this is a living sacri rice it's holy and pleasing to you Jesus lived the perfect life led by the spirit he was never not led by the spirit Jesus was led by the spirit in the wilderness you know how we can tell often if we are still top heavy In the Flesh we won't allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into the Wilderness he has to Corner us and force us into wildernesses we won't be let we won't go into him we're following the spirit I love it glory and grace and miracles and multiplied food yes Lord bless me bless bless me holy spirit's like good let's hang a right right here we're going straight into the Wilderness no our flesh is like no no no bullhorn no no we don't do wildernesses we don't do that Jesus is like yep he goes right into it but see these are the forks and the roads where the holy spirit is trying to take us places and because of our flesh we go n we choose flesh but by the spirit is how you put to death the Deeds of the body um Romans 13:14 um I think we're getting close sort of Romans 13:14 real quick again practical no no sorry biblical ways we're going to hit practical in a second bibl and those I'll go quick through practical biblical ways of okay how do I die to self help me Lord how I'm going to recap these but um Romans 13:14 but put on the Lord Jesus Christ and here it is here it is again make no provision for the flesh so see I love this it it's not ignore it it's it's it's it's intentionally about making no provision for it to fulfill its lust listen to what provision is in Greek this is the four thought thought in advance flesh will always always start with a thought so this kind of this is why it connects back to the renewal of the mind we must regulate and govern our minds so if flesh is going to be lived out by its Deeds even not blatant sin just flesh not denying oursel lust of the flesh the eyes pride of life selfish ambition whatever it always starts with a thought and so what what Paul's saying here is make no provision for it is catch the thought before it plays out it will never just be jumped into it starts with the thought and and it it's and see this is where we're not even getting convicted we're getting seared because we're not catching our thoughts a lot of times it's in our subconscious this is at least how we categorize it but I I want to present this to you what is subconscious to the Holy Spirit nothing he sees through it all there ain't no conscious sub none of it with the Holy Spirit we we communicating this way one to another to humans CU it happens but I propose there's a place in the spirit that we can so get in tune with him that it's all clear right it's there is no sub it's like n you can see it all it doesn't happen in this hidden place that we don't know and so maturity starts to see so clearly by the spirit it whether it you are aware or unaware it's all the same to him he sees it all there is no like certain secret chamber where it got hid in the subconscious he sees it all he knows it all he knows the thoughts of men and so when we say so full and one with the spirit we see it the same there is no subconscious we catch that even we catch the intentions of the heart and wherever we want to categorize them at and that's where I'm trying to go and so what happens is often again I'm talking only to Believers is these flesh breeding thoughts that Paul's saying make no provision for how do I die to self how do I become a living Living Sacrifice make no provision for the flesh which the Bible Greek and provision is no thought for it no forethought because it starts there I'm telling you if you ever see flesh played out it started with a thought it's that's why the devil came to Eve with a thought it always starts there always and that thought is also best friends with unbelief in God and His word we already went over that one but I love that when we can get so in tune with the spirit there is nothing sub subconscious hidden it's all clear you just see it you know it and when we start walking at this level everything starts getting checked and you make no provision for the flesh help us Lord this is a beautiful free life this is the way Jesus walked he was pres he was 100% man dealt with it all but it would come in a form of a thought he'd catch it there he'd make no provision for the flesh how do I put to deed put to death the Deeds of the flesh make no provision for it so it's it's catching it um not allowing even a thought that would authorize advancing stages to proceed in regards to the flesh another breakdown of provision in Greek is to provide beforehand by way of thought same thing so again this is what I'm talking about again I think when I start talking like Sunday morning like hey we need the Holy Spirit to convict us again we check out yeah I know I love it man holy spirit convicts me all the time it's like and and quite often we have seared areas that we don't even know what's going on in our subconscious and the Holy Spirit it's all a storefront window to him that just got cleaned with the Holy Ghost Windex he sees through it all but we can't see it because we're so blurred up and we've been yielding so long in these areas and so I don't mean this to be condemning I'm talking to me like help us Lord cuz you ain't going to find Jesus allowing a thought to get to he's not going to make provision for it he never did the thought doesn't have a chance to progress into the Deeds of Flesh which again I'm not even talking about blatant sin yes definitely that but I'm talking about selfish ambition murmuring complaining all the Deeds of the flesh all of them these boys check hard flattery for selfish gain these all start with a thought and I'm telling you the Holy Spirit we'll stay filled with him by the spirit how do you put to death the Deeds he'll he'll catch him there he'll catch them there and you you make no provision right away you counter it with the word and death to self those two tracks and it just it dissolves and you do this over and over in life and the enemy probably dials back his thoughts and tries to find somebody else he has a doorway in or they just keep falling flat but if we don't catch it there typically it's going to unfold into lust of the flesh lust of the eyes PR of life it's going to get legs and it's not going to put it to death so this is a powerful one Romans 131 14 make no provision for it put on the Lord Jesus Christ right and then what I do in tandem with that Paul oh yeah also make no provision for the flesh see and these are the things we don't often talk about and so but we love to say now put on Christ this morning I was in my closet and I prophetically put on my full armor and Christ too and humility and all this but hey as soon as somebody checked me I didn't want to be embarrass because I so full of Pride well I thought you put on humility no you didn't stop thoughts and you made provision for the flesh we're still acting in Pride 10 years later you know what I mean so so help help us Lord but that's a major key as well Faith Grace awake to righteousness do not sin because of knowing god I'm kind of recapping already already but I'll do it here in a second um so making no mental provision even for the flesh that's what it's basically saying here Romans 13:14 Colossians 3 again lot of word hopefully you guys can go back and and um remember maybe go back through it slower and pause it and if you want to take notes and all Colossians 35 5 and 8 again we're going over biblical ways to be a Living Sacrifice how do I deny myself okay I I see the significance how God's calling for it I want to be this this is how Jesus is how and I'm hitting some biblical ways um Colossians 3:5 therefore put to death your members which are on the earth verse 8 but now you yourselves are to put off all these and you you can go through the lesson apply them how you'd like but my point is we must put to death and put off there there's an intentional focus on doing that and again Romans 13 coupled together with that really helps because it makes no provision for it which puts it to death and puts it off you know and um and also how do we put to death the Deeds by the spirit Galatians 5 16- 2 Galatians 56-2 I'm you start to see how much this is mentioned by these greats these these Apostles it's it's really important who really need not go go you know bypass this uh Galatians 5:16 through2 I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh so when I fulfill the lust of the flesh what am I doing not walking in the spirit Spirit I'm led by the spirit and I you know this and we make excuses live in denial and it's like prideful even in that it's like the spirit's nowhere to be found help us Lord walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh verse 17 for the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh they're never on the same page not they never have been never will be just go ahead and know that flesh and spirit war against each other and these are contrary to one another so that you do not do the things that you wish you you do not do the things you wish what's about you take care of number one you this is not Bible all this stuff that's creeping in verse 18 but if you are led by the spirit you're not under the law verse 19 now the works of the flesh are evident which are adultery fornication uncleanness lewdness idolatry sorcery hatred contentions jealousies outbursts of Wrath selfish Ambitions dissensions heresies Envy murders drunkenness rivalries and the like of which I tell you beforeand just as I also told you in time past that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God verse 22 but the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace longsuffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law and those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires desires verse 25 if we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit so isn't this beautiful those who are Christ we quoted that one earlier on tonight have crucified the flesh with its passions and um desires so again really you could couple this with what we talked about earlier of of being filled with the spirit being led by the spirit convicted by the Spirit by the spirit walking in the spirit relate letting him run it how do I walk in the spirit that means each step I'm in him and he's leading and he goes right foot I go right foot he goes left foot I go left foot he goes right foot I go left foot I just got in the flesh he runs it all Lead Me holy how led by the spirit Romans 8 walk in the spirit how do I put the Deeds put to death the Deeds of the flesh by the spirit and so help us holy spirit evct us keep me sensitive lead me fill me and and let him let him run run our world but I love that one um oh yeah right here I've crucify the flesh by walking in the spirit again this points to a relational Union with the spirit walking if you're running that's that speaks of short term that's a Sprint you're going to wear out at some point but to walk is the Long Haul it's relational Covenant to the end walk in the spirit it's a long journey when you're going to go for a long time you walk CU you kind of count the cost like this so may we walk in the spirit um staying filled with him is one of the major key to enabling of this that we went over then of course continually yielding to and obeying him this again is why it is so vital to have Tender Hearts that are rid of callus because you can go years of walking out of step with him and not even know it callus Hearts will quote verses like I'm in the spirit and not even know they can't even feel his conviction anymore I'm telling you it's it's it's uh we we went over it on Sunday 1 Timothy 4 seared Hearts Philippians 1 uh Philippians 1 19- 26 and then way some practicals and land it we won't go too far over Philippians 1 19 through 26 for I know that this will turn out for my Deliverance through your writing from prison dead man through your prayer and the supply of the spirit of Jesus Christ verse 20 according to my Earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed but with all boldness as always so now also Christ will be magnified in my body whether by life or death dead man it doesn't matter to him but what matters to him Christ being glorified Christ being magnified whether me dying glorifies him or me living glorifies him glorifying him dead man dead people talk like this they're not they're Martyrs they're living sacrifices they're living Martyrs um help us to go this way more Lord verse 21 for to me to live is Christ this is what I talking about earlier and to die is gain why because I gain Christ to live as Christ so for me to live in the earth still this is what dead people say is Christ like he has his full way CU he runs me he truly is my Lord uh verse 22 but if I live on in the flesh this will mean fruit from my labor yet what shall I choose I cannot tell for I'm hardpressed between the two having a desire to part me with Christ Which is far better because of Christ watch 24 nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you this is how de dead people talk they are only concerned with Christ being magnified and what's more needful for you like literally man the baddest Apostle in the land delegated half of the New Testament you know two-thirds of the epistle the Eternal Word of God and all he cares about is Christ being magnified and what's better for the people like he's not in the equation this is incredible this is Galatians 2 this is why he can say it's no longer I who live um I'm telling you let's go this way listen man if we can it just excites me to think that's all I start thinking about a community that's this way and all of us going further this way um it's really really powerful the the devil will have a real serious problem on his hand CU he with renewed mind lovers of God that are dead wow um but what yeah 24 I love it nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you remain in the f a lot of us don't want to die because of me and I have more Liv things I want to do in my bucket list and what I haven't feel like I've accomplished and I don't want to miss my family and his his first go to to remain in the flesh is what's needful more needful for the Philippians Church of Philippi that he's like from prison no complaining nothing like that's just wild uh verse 25 in being confident of this I know that I shall remain and continue with you all why again Paul are you so hung up on this for your progress in Joy of Faith so this is super beautiful Philippians 19- 26 that c the the mode here I just love of this chapter is that death looks like your main passion and focus like why you live is for Christ to be magnified and the progression of others and their joy and faith and also to the point of how do we become living sacrifices these are the things we seek after we wake up tomorrow and we say how does Christ be magnified I need to love him so much CU I I just do how can you not I'm helpless without him I'm living for him that's why I woke up this morning and if I don't know him intimately I can't hear him very clearly and I can't obey him well because this whole thing's about obeying him I don't I don't want a will don't have one I want to obey him I want him pleased and need him glorified I need Christ magnified and then my very next goto is the furtherance and better progression of others and then you're not even really in the equation but and the problem is I touched on this before is the way the kingdom works is you always get exalted or grace and favor comes and blessing and you're just kind of like thank you Lord hopefully you're pleasing happy and I'm grateful very thankful but still if you if you peel back the heart of a dead man or dead woman you're going to find those two main things there they they really burn for Christ to be magnified they're really caught up on obeying him they just want to obey him not to be amazing that he be magnified and then the very next in line is the the better of him being magnified through others and how can they progress the joy and Faith of others this is this is incredible this is where you start esteeming others is better than yourself preferring others that the Bible talks about selfish ambition is nowhere to be found you're not interested you you found out a long time ago that that's very unbiblical detrimental and coupled together with jealousy is is every evil practice produces every it's not good like I I I'm running from this type stuff so that's powerful okay practical ways and we'll start to land it again like we could be on this topic I feel like forever and it'll continue to bleed through just because I I love the word and Jesus and it'll be good but um so some practical ways well sorry real quick to recap biblical ways that we and we gave verses if you go back we gave we pulled scriptural foundation for all of this I'm just going to hit the points though biblical ways to become a Living Sacrifice that's what again Paul holy acceptable and our reasonable service and he begs us Paul's begging us Romans 12:1 let's let's keep that one like key H man I love that one anyway um biblical ways to becoming a Living Sacrifice faith and Grace we touched on that how do I no longer live by faith in the Son of God and I do not forsake the grace of God it it those have been usually coupled together with what's in it for us often but true faith and biblical Grace accompanies dead people and people that walk in true Faith are dead because people that walk in the flesh they're connected directly to unbelief we went over all that knowing god I think it 1 Corinthians 15:34 um knowing god how do we awake to righteousness and and do not sin know him to know him by default awakens you to righteousness and creates a a despising of sin the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowing him and the fear of the Lord hates evil so that's when you start seeing people attracted to sin over being awakened to righteousness they're leaving the knowledge of God just know that that's what the Bible says I'm not trying to point fingers at anybody that's what the Bible says people that are awakened to righteousness and dead to sin they know him they've seen him and they know him and they're going deeper people that are falling asleep to righteousness and Awakening to sin they're leaving the knowledge of God and they either knew him once before but no longer know him now that's powerful how do I become a Living Sacrifice know him stay madly caught up in intimately knowing him and that will fuel Awakening to righteousness staying dead to sin so just always know if you feel yourself kind of falling asleep to righteousness and kind of get you know whatever and compromises creeping in you're leaving the knowledge of God I promise you that's what the Bible the Bible calls you out you don't need a preacher to do that the Bible does that you can you can candy coat it with whatever little cherry pick burses you want around it but you ain't getting around that one if compromise is creeping in you're getting dull in conviction and falling asleep to righteousness you are leaving the knowledge of God you don't know him you may have known him and you love to hang your hats on five years ago of all these deep Mysteries and Revelations and you know Miracles you saw and all that's great but do you know him you you could be a foolish virgin and have a history of of great depth in God but is he looking at you right now and saying I do not know you I did but I do not now we must know him um Reckoning ourselves dead to sin remember Reckoning uh is massive how do we biblically live a life of Sacrifice by the spirit how do we put to death the Deeds of the flesh by the spirit make no provision is another one for the flesh we went over that one make no provision for it no forethought don't catch it there this one is so um key help us help help us get out a cloudy world and get clear in the spir crystal clear remove the seared consciouses the subconscious where it's just it's stuff's happening we don't even know and then it breeds and it runs off this way and we're don't we're not even catching it again no condemnation God's so good and loving but he's calling us to the realm of the spirit and don't nothing slip by the spirit there ain't no subconscious to the spirit he sees it all he sees at all there's no like you know what I mean we do that we compartment ize it cuz things are were just blurry but the conviction and spirit of Truth he like you saw that the reason we're not seeing it is we're not sensing him because we're seared in Aries and he he's Grace gracious and good and he's slowly pulling back those layers of callus and and making us sensitive again um we must present our bodies as living sacrifices Romans 12 how do I become a Living Sacrifice present your bodies as a Living Sacrifice present them we you present your bodies I beg you Paul said I beg you I'm not praying to God to do it for you I'm begging you to present your body as a Living Sacrifice put to death and put off we went through in Colossians 3 um crucify the flesh by walking in the spirit Galatians 5 how do I crucify the flesh again how do I become a Living Sacrifice walk in the spirit don't don't just on Glory weekends or when we're having a high or we're out trying to witness and hear the no walk in the spirit when you're in your house or when times are tough or when nobody's noticed you for years or walk in the spirit it will lead to life you will not gratify the desire the desires of the flesh you'll make no provision for it how do we crucify the flesh walk by the spirit Philippians 1 live with the full purpose of Christ being magnified how do I die to me shift your whole purpose in life Philippians 1 to Christ being magnified and others benefiting by way of our life being an asset to their joy and Faith this is what dead people do Philippians 1 Paul man so powerful in Jesus can you imagine but but again how do I become a Living whatever the Lord leads you in but Buffet your body how what are some practicals to become a Living Sacrifice and not always cater to my flesh and and just slowly but surely crucify it kill it um put to death its members things like this Jesus says when you fast um so lifestyle of fasting Super Key oh we're over here now um lifestyle of persistent and and Vigilant prayer I touched on it earlier remember Jesus in the gospels he said the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak so a lifestyle of persistent Vigilant prayer let us never come off of that one remember recently I tou on pray without ceasing so how do I constantly Kill My Flesh lifestyle of persistence and Vigilant prayer the flesh it fights this it it it doesn't want to pray at times um so fasting prayer lifestyle of generosity and and giving there we go got my little stretch stretch in um lifestyle of generosity and giving uh flesh will always want to hang on to more than it wants to give kill it by leaning more and more into cheerful generosity what are some practical ways fast lifestyle of fasting Jesus said when you fast Paul said I Buffet my body it doesn't have a lot of say so over me let nothing rule me a lifestyle of persistent and Vigilant prayer intimacy yes but even that I'm telling you um let's just keep tell sometimes look if you're in prayer you're two hours in and you just feel that slight the holy SP it's like come on let's go another hour I'm telling you there somewhere I'm trying to go here tell your flesh no like are you kidding me I get in the car and drive for three hours easy and to go somewhere cuz no flesh no a lifestyle when I say Vigilant persistent the fervent prayer go with that that spirit voice tell your flesh no how how what are some practicals I can like live a life stop yielding to the flesh put it off tell it no yield to the spirit and it'll get stronger and stronger your flesh will get more dead and dead and um you know even you build a capacity to be in the presence of the Lord a stamina to be with him and love him in his word and you you just you you your flesh you just uh don't want to make room for no provision for it anyway lifestyle of generosity and giving is the flesh will never it wants me my hang on to mine I'll give but I better have more it focuses more on its saving and it's where it's going here than what it's giving Spirits thinking Heaven thinking generous cheerful Giver so how do I crucify the flesh this is one of the ways you you just say no and you you begin to oppose it by the spirit and you become a generous Giver in all areas sometimes it can be your time sometimes it can be your resources it can be whatever but you you give generously well my flesh I don't I don't I don't want to do this I want to hang on to this to me well no you don't have to say so we give um look this is another one practicals look to be a blessing and strengthen other people's Ministries looking to be a blessing and strengthen other people's Ministries not use theirs to build yours oh my gosh this is way too common and I'm I'm about to say others too because some of us may not be in we're all in Ministry but I'm specifically hitting this one because you see it quite common where it's like hold on what what is what is going on here a dead person looks to be a blessing and strengthen other people's Ministries not use theirs to strengthen theirs self looks to see how can I capitalize off of this one to build my and better my no that's not us we don't remember also Paul we don't commend ourselves Paul's like that who none of my disciples I promise you ain't going to find Timothy commending himself we want to be the people when we're in the room and all the commending ourselves starts going on the commending themselves we want the people that just drop back don't don't need to judge we know it's not biblical we don't need to get skeptical and start to you know look at them as beneath us by any means but we ain't we're good we just slip back and Jesus I love you thank you I don't want any part of this don't don't need to you commend me even if you don't what does it matter it's not about me no we don't do that but also look to be a blessing and I want to encourage you guys that that will go into Ministry and others when you go in how can you be a blessing to other people's Ministries not use theirs to promote yours and strengthen yours I'm telling you don't don't don't go there you don't want to go there it it's it's not the it's not the way Paul anyway help us Lord I pray anybody specifically I'm talking to asend students that if you go out and they're like something's different about that person they came in and all they were looking to do is how can I come under this ministry and be a strength and a blessing to it I'm not trying to take from them leaders give they're not they don't take they're not looking dead people give impart fuel strengthen pour out they they don't they're not take they're always looking for a freebie and what's how can I get a coupon no they're looking to pay the price and lay it down for others this is what leaders do this is what Paul and Jesus people always looking how can I if I don't get it for free I don't want that you know and looking for a cheap you know cheap code and a and I get some of that please hear me in Balance we love it when it works and trust me just just know where I'm getting at please the heart of an issue is constantly rooted in but when we when you go in and also the next one is look to be a blessing and strength to someone else's life not seek how their life can better yours or what you want from it this is so prevalent we don't even know it because we're the righteousness of Christ by goly it's like no you're pretty self-centered you're constantly looking to match up to people that'll better your existence or how you can Network and connect because it'll get you seen and get you in the door no it's not about you how can I be a blessing and strengthen others with nothing in return if nobody ever even knows nobody sees it this is the heart of a dead person that God sees as reasonable service but you go into a Ministry you're not it's not about you it's not you're not trying to that's not in the equation the equation is how can I this is big I'm telling you this is where men and boys separate this is massive not to judge and get skeptical against anybody that that's into this type stuff I'm just telling you may we go the higher way it's very pure very clean very like the Lord um again what are some practical death to self-life patterns that are very healthy to Implement become habitual in a good biblical way prefer others in all things the start again tomorrow start how can I prefer others I don't want to keep catering to this flesh way the Lord's not in it the spirit's not in it it's not reasonable service it's holy acceptable to God let me be a Living Sacrifice prefer others in all things flesh always wants to be preferred kill it by choosing to prefer others from the smallest uh to largest day-to-day life [Applause] choices and and often I want to be honest with you the smallest ones are the areas that we um typically Overlook you know uh anyway it's a whole another deal esteem others as better than you this is another way to kill the flesh esteem others as better than you I don't feel like it nobody asked the Bible's not asking for that it's saying put to death well it doesn't seem real to me well then you don't believe the word because Paul's Paul surely didn't have a place to but he he did he esteem people as higher than himself he he calls for it so just choose it just just by the spirit put to deed the the you know if something's sinful and unbiblical and dishonorable yeah no don't honor what's dishonorable but you know what I mean we can't even honor esteem more than ourselves cuz we're so selfish and we're so it like death toelf looks like esteeming others as better than itself flesh always wants to be the one esteemed seek to esteem others how do I become a Living Sacrifice with some practicals seek to esteem others don't stop seeking to be esteemed flesh wants to be esteemed and noticed and recognized and seek to do it in others don't don't worry about you know if you ever get a sting that's that's not why we're here um look to serve not to be served that's another big one how can I serve how do I become a Living Sacrifice serve I want to serve man this is one that gets looked over we need to realize I was telling my kids this so so proud of them I always am obviously and say this but Jesus says when you give a cup of water to a child or however you've given it unto him I I think we take this one for granted it's biblical when we are given opportunity to serve when it concerns the kingdom that that's massive that's massive you can be working some job that's that has that this important and where God has you that's good but if it's if temporary it's if it's caught up in the temporal circulation let's be honest there's no Eternal connection it just is what it is and and thank the Lord Paul made tense I mean let's let do it but when we're given the opportunity to serve in any capacity that connects to the Lord that is massive and we this is kind of a whole another teaching but it still connects it falls under this this topic and we just blow by it and if something's not in it for us or I'm not getting paid or whatever it may be we just it's like Whoa man not going to look good on on the kingdom side CU we didn't we didn't unb belief's there we didn't take the book for real but if we knew every little thing we're every opportunity we've been given to serve God in whatever way it is thank you Lord that it liter is being seen is that the Lord said that out of his own mouth you're giving that to me you know when you visit somebody in prison you're visiting me and and so may we have we need a mind renewal here I'm telling you this world's gotten so consumer driven and me me me that we don't nobody wants to serve you a lot of you all do in our community I'm so proud of you and thankful but I'm meaning at large if something's not in it for me ultimately we just fall off and it's like the the the the Bible says do as everything as unto the Lord you know and so um but anyway look to serve not to be served flesh is always looking to be what can serve me who can serve me and better me and make it easier for me that's not Kingdom that's that's the flesh way Spirit way is looking to Sir look to sew into the kingdom not always seek to see what you can get out of it and and we touched on generosity so if giving applies great but I'm even meaning in prayer you'll notice often you know in Ministry and church settings at large a lot of people will show up for the the word of God because how can it convict and or encourage me and what's for me but prayer services the crowd crowds often get thin it's like why is that look to sew into the kingdom not always see what you're getting out of it look to sew and Minister unto the Lord and Minister into the atmosphere of prayer and vigilance and and what you can sew into the kingdom not always be trying to what you can get out from it um become a doer of the word not a hearer only how do I become a Living Sacrifice do this book and his and his logos and Rama his spoke his word his word um sorry but be being doers of the word not hearers only um sorry oh yeah we still got to take communion sorry maybe you can on archiv if I've lost you um the day you start applying immediate obedience to truly doing the word of God and not being a hearer only thinking you have that one down pad often we just we hear a verse and we know it we've heard it quoted so we think we just we got it and it's like we're not even doing it we're not even renewed in the core of our mind the spirit of our mind to have feet to even walk it out and we think cuz we know it and we quote it that's why we need the word as a I'll get off a whole another thing we need the continual word um but um but yeah sorry as soon as we do that flesh will begin to die immediately and a true Heavenly life will begin to flow so seek to be a do how do I what's a practical way I can be a Living Sacrifice do the word flesh often won't want to obey God it'll it'll disconnect and have unbelief and things like this um seek to is another one seek to get away more and more from what is best for you in and around situations I'm telling you I think we don't often know this is there but we been driving us for so long we don't know it's there and we're seared we don't realize like oh my gosh I am very self-driven like every time we come to this situation I want to do what's what I prefer what's best for me and not consider others and esteem others is more important I want to go here because this is what I want to do or this is what I prefer y'all just come along like no seek to get away more and more from what is best for you in and around situations what is most convenient for you what is not going to take up most of your time and money and efforts and what you most prefer and around involvement with others let's prioritize what is best for others in alignment with God's will wow I got a bunch here um no no no no I'm lying last page last page um I have here dead people spend about 90% of their day um seeking to prioritize what God wants first in all things and then from there what is best for others self-centered people have this all backwards but often think they are the deadest one in the room yet their life speaks volumes by the continual choices made day in and day out so dead people spend 90% of their day seeking what how to prioritize what God wants first need for notoriety or anything rooted in vain Glory run from selfish ambition leave the path of needing to be right and know it all begin to find comfort and not needing to be significant in the eyes of others find your happy place in the lowly position of Simplicity and the life that pleases God Alone let's find our happy place there lastly and then we'll pray love biblically Love's taking on all kind of definitions and expressions in this current day but love biblically which looks like your benefit not being in the equation true biblical love does not have factored into the equation anything that seeks its own it seeks first God's pleasure and will followed by God's Will and pleasure in others love seeks not its own
