Conditions of the Game
- Floorball is played between two teams with the aim to score more goals than the opponent.
- Games are preferably indoors on a hard, even surface.
- Matches must adhere to the approved venue standards.
Rink Specifications
- Dimensions: Standard rink is 40x20m, smallest allowed is 36x18m.
- Markings: Centre line, face-off dots, goal creases (4x5m), and goalkeeper areas (1x2.5m).
- Substitution Zones: 10m along one long side, marked and including player benches.
- Secretariat and Penalty Benches: Located opposite substitution zones.
- Inspection: Referees inspect rink pre-match for defects.
Game Time
- Regular Time: 3x20 minutes with two 10-minute intermissions.
- Effective Time: Clock stops for interruptions, restarts with ball play.
- Exemptions: Non-effective time possible with authority approval, last 3 minutes always effective.
- Time Out: Each team can request one per match.
- Extra Time & Penalty Shots: 10-minute extra time if tied, followed by penalty shots if needed.
Participants
- Team Composition: Max 20 players, noted in match record.
- During Play: Max six players including one goalkeeper.
- Substitution Rules: Unlimited during match, must occur in substitution zones.
- Goalkeepers: Special marking ("G"), no field play allowed.
- Team Captains: Marked ("C"), sole spokesperson to referees.
- Referees and Secretariat: Two referees, secretariat handles match record and timekeeping.
Equipment
- Player and Referee Uniforms: Specific requirements for colors, numbers, and socks.
- Goalkeeper Gear: Must wear a face mask, no stick allowed.
- Ball and Stick: Must be IFF approved; particular rules on blade and shaft.
Fixed Situations
- Types: Face-offs, hit-ins, free-hits, and penalty shots.
- Regulations: Ball must be stationary; specific markings for each type.
Penalties
- Offences lead to bench penalties (2-minute or 5-minute).
- Types of Penalties: Bench, delayed, personal, and match penalties.

Goals
