Battery Removal Process
Safety First:
Always start by removing the negative terminal first to prevent electrical issues (similar to cutting power at a house).
Ensure terminals do not touch any metal parts.
Remove Battery Holder:
Use a 10 mm socket to loosen the holder.
Backside does not need to be completely removed, just loosen sufficiently.
Take Out Battery:
Lift and remove after loosening.
Be cautious of the metal bracket that holds the battery in place.
Installing the New Battery
Place New Battery:
Align in the plastic holes to ensure stability.
Remove protective caps from the battery terminals.
Preventative Measures:
Apply dielectric grease or terminal grease to prevent corrosion.
Note: Corrosion often occurs after 3+ years or in certain weather conditions.
Mount Battery:
Reconnect to the metal side bracket.
Use original bolt to secure, tighten with 10 mm socket.
Ensure battery is sturdy and does not move.
Reconnecting the Terminals
Positive Terminal First:
Attach and secure loosely, avoid over-tightening.
Ensure it is stable with a small wiggle.
Negative Terminal Last:
Connect last to prevent sparks and ensure safety.
A small spark may occur; it's normal, especially if the car is on.
Tighten adequately without over-tightening.
Final Steps
Once both terminals are connected and secured, start the car to ensure the battery is functioning correctly.
Confirm all connections are stable and secured before completing the process.
