this Toyota gr86 for a company gaap will be giving away cars and shortly before we announce the giveaway winner on the last lap last day that the track was open I started the car I let it run warm and drove to the gas station and on the way to the gas station the car died now the gr 86s are relatively Infamous for having engine issues so we decided to buy a stroker kit although the car was about to be given away soon we decided you know what we're still going to not just like run it through the warranty because it's a known warranty issue we're going to buy a stroker kit and make the car even better because we do not want the next owner of the car to have more issues with it and again before we proceed with showing you everything that has happened and a lot more things behind it go to gap. scared but it work mine yeah yeah yeah so we're going to show you what happened here and then actually look more into detail what could have been an issue which is kind of I don't even know I have no words for it we have here the fa24 waiting for the new parts to be installed so it's been disassembled and what do you see so basically luckily the block look like is 99% okay mhm still need to do couple measurement but it's fine visually so the issue happened in the engine it was oil starvation missing oil basically in some point which caused bearing failure which here is clear this is a road bearings and this is our main bearings mhm so uh this one basically create two things Road bearing failure it creat uh damage to the crankshaft which it got bends a little bit because was just the center one be so that means it does this flexibility kind of banana in the worst way to say and the knocky noise was coming from uh the road bearings which turn it like this inside and damaged The Climb shaft luckily like Misha said it was in the normal Road without pushing the car M and uh didn't destroy completely the engine which still be savable mhm and uh with the new kit from HKS which uh give all together crankshaft Pistons Road and so on and we create the new engine with the stroker 2.5 mhm with uh the old f24 block mhm and uh that's basically the damage of theing the engine which called be happened because all this guy whoever assembl the engine which is crazy there is a lot of cic there is all ceiling the silicone cyant on every part of the engine but look how much it's sticking out on every single edge on the on the heads on the valve covers the front cover the front cover everything is sticking out yeah so that's it's like every single part is just like Completely Sauced in like in silicone it's it could could we 5 kilo less the engine yeah anyway it could be one of the causes which it is a possibility because the reason for that why I think is when you look in the sump yes we have a strange gelatin let's call it like this which is I think is basically uh melted silic together with me metal powder of the engine because you have Beering here clearly is gold you see and uh this is gelatin it's me it's together that's not metal does this is absolutely not metal mix it so that's could be like three T I don't know if it's correct silicon which went everywhere and got back to the samp at some point and here the Buffalo sand which was installed it was holding all the metal to go down not everything but you can see M the other side's completely clean yeah yeah yeah so insane insane insane and another point which say the block will be okay is the Piston are looking great they're not damaged not smashed on top so this will be replaced with the new one of course but they're looking great yeah the only one a little bit it's this one which moving a little bit like this because was without beating but nothing crazy hm insane yeah I mean could have been should have been again it was extremely wild because it did not happen on the track it was just like engine was running warm and then I started driving to the gas station without going crazy on the street just like on normal street traffic and didn't even reach like 80 km per hour no hard pull and the car just like started to knock uh after time uh it created theage and that's why happened there yeah yeah yeah yeah so yeah next step is clean everything up are you going to use even more sealant now for the for the rebuild because Prett of course yeah so what what's the plan clean everything up and then use yes everything will be completely clean from here from here everything going to be clean going to take time but need to be done and uh use the less possible amount of silicon to close it back yeah and we have all the full gasket kit from uh to Toyota Subaru brand new all the new bearings with a little bit more tolerance so it going to last longer andp bolts RP bolts which are stronger as well and uh that's it and of course again the sub trer kit from it's g i mean we already filmed it before but it didn't make it into another video we might as well show it now so we have here the gaskets and Gasket very nice we have there there what we have here crankshaft the crankshaft nice BR new yeah and here we have beautiful roads I think the roads with the new shape not straight but angled so can we can we look at the difference between the two yes yes yes so this is a bit bent from a factory o yeah hkss very nice oh hi there do you have more silicone for us so you see it yeah we did Super Classic way yeah insane and the last nice part is the beautiful this boys which yeah for piston beautiful so we can actually go boost it even but it's not our car anymore so that's kind of it how much power is going to make now then like two uh we'll see I think uh should be like between 10 12% more oh that's nice yeah so like 260 or so probably yeah it's nice it's interesting you saw it's also so strange what this piston don't have any oil cooling chamber or something like this so I thought it will be some disadvantage so that one will be hotter but in reality not it will be not hotter so we should be all good this is clearly beefy yeah yeah big difference nice tast and everything is in good condition so it's a typical super way to br broken engine is a Bing in crank shot so nothing new and that's said it is I know like a 10 year or 15 year and same story maybe 25 years yeah new engine but same story you know just the be what the their electric motor is going to be probably me hopefully hopefully yeah anyway there also some beings there in electric motors you know yeah I guess that's kind of it a quick update on the gr86 project uh we have the HKS stroker kit overnight from Japan had actually come from Japan 2 and 1/2 lit so uh 10% more horsepower with additional remap maybe cheeky remap we'll see stay tuned but yeah I wanted to update you on that especially now that gr 86s are out of sales I think in Europe they don't sell themore not not not possible yeah not possible so um think twice if you're going to buy one U I know you will not be able if you want to tr one yeah or or this happened on the street so it's like I don't know just on the way to the track on the way to the track from the TR from the TR yeah exactly in between but maybe if the next one's going to come with the G gr Yus engine that would be cool actually anyway that's it that's all we had to show into see um yeah stay tuned we're going to rebuild it quickly
