the psalmist was going through some things in life not just physical struggles but opposition but in spite of it all he still delighted in the precepts of God in this lesson entitled delightful uploaded another lesson we're in the Book of Psalms the 119th Psalm it is a very interesting Psalm and book and writing going to give you a little brief of the book and the layout itself today we're talking about delightful precepts we're in the 119th Psalm verses number 73 through 80 we're dealing with the Hope series I'm going to read the lesson and then we'll go into it verses number uh 73 he says thy hands have made me and fashioned me give me understanding that I may learn thy Commandments they that fear thee will be GL glad when they see me because I have hoped in thy word I know oh Lord that thy judgments are right and that thou in faithfulness hath Afflicted me let I pray thee thy merciful kindness be for my comfort according to Thy word unto thy servants let their Tender Mercies come unto me that I may live for thy law is my delight or Delight let the proud be ashamed for they dealt perversely With Me Without a Cause but I will meditate in thy precepts let those that fear thee turn unto me and those that have known thy testimonies let my heart be sound in thy statutes that I may not be ashamed this is the reading of our entire lesson May the Lord add a blessing to the reading of his word for the edification of our souls and the people of God type below amen father we bless you and we glorify you as we go into this lesson give us wisdom knowledge and understanding in Jesus name so the first thing we're going to deal with you like it huh is the lesson AIM now there's three parts of the lesson aim but I want to deal with this one here and if you can comment in the comment section below uh select one of the eight verses of the text as most personally meaningful and explain why it is so I want you to take a time and select one of the eight verses this is the lesson a select which one one has a personal meaning a personal value to you and let me know in the comment section below which one it is explain to us the reason why not only that but our lesson aim or our memory verse it says as thy hands have made me and fashioned me give me understanding that I may learn thy Commandments the 119th Psalm verses number three thy hands have he says and I'm glad that he recognized that the hands of the Creator the hands of God have done both things they have made him and fashioned him we're going to talk about what's the difference in the two and then in the conclusion of that matter he says to him through a prayer because this is a series of prayers he says give me understanding I need understanding Clarity I need insight and wisdom that I may learn or be taught your Commandments and we're going to talk about that as well there's something else I want to bring out uh in this lesson yes number one that this is the longest poem in the scriptures now Psalm is not broken up into chapters but if it would was we would say that this is the longest chapter of the book of Psalm this is the longest poem in the Bible number two this is what we call an an acrostic Psalm it is an acrostic Psalm because each section uh begins with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet there are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet and each one of these begin with the letter of the alphabet there are eight verses in each verse there is a form of the word law uh in here and I'll show you what I'm talking about today's lesson is the 10th letter of the alpha of the Hebrew alphabet every eight verses is another letter of the Hebrew today we will dealing with Y or some say yod right here now watch this there are eight verses you will see the in every verse a word that means the law or the Commandment of God word a commandment word judgments word you'll find the word law precepts uh testimonies and then statutes that's very interesting ladies and gentlemen because you will find that word uh in every verse look at except one look at the whole 119th Psalm from the very first writing to the last one with the exception of one or two the word commandment word judgment law precept statutes or or testimonies is in every word or is it is in every verse so what's going on is every eight uh lines begins another Hebrew one word Hebrew alphabet all right so this my brothers is a very interesting layout this is the psalmist I don't know who the writer is but the psalmist is writing which looks and appears to be a prayer okay now let's get down with the get down fly the word the reason why you see here is because that word that that's what it means he says thy hands have made me your hands have done two things made me and fashion me and here is the request in this prayer I need you to give me understanding once you give me understanding that I may learn that word for learn means to teach to be taught to cause to learn whatever your commandments so this is the first instance of the word command commandment which it is a form of the word of God you will see some type of form of the word of God throughout this whole entire lesson one in each verse so the first thing the writer does is he confesses and recognizes God as the Creator as the maker and as the sustainer he recognized that he himself didn't make himself it is God that has made him it is God that will sustain him he does something that we all need to do take notice of and recognize that God is the creator our maker our sustainer and that God have both made and he has fashioned us the Bible lets us know that the Earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof the world and they that dwell therein number two is we were made by God we were made in the image and in the likeness of God according to Genesis 1 and 28 so when God made us there was a particular purpose a goal and a view when God made us we are his creation the Bible lets us know and he have made us and not we ourselves so he says thy hands y or your strength or your power is what made now he used the word made here so this frequently used Hebrew verb it Con it conveys I should say the central notion of performing an activity with a distinct purpose so God made us when he was making us he was making us with a goal in view he had a distinct purpose in mind when he made us so the writer says you made me and you fashion the word fashion means to fit to shape to form or even to establish so he use what we call anthropomorphism it is to The Taking of human features and attributing it or accrediting it or giving it to God why do I say that Jesus says to the woman that well in John 4:24 God is a spirit it really reads God is spirit and therefore they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth but what does that mean God doesn't have a form he doesn't have a physical form he doesn't have human traits but this word is anthropomorphism which means and only the only way that we can understand the works of God and the nature of God he uh gives God human body details so he says your hands is what made me uh you might find the feet of God God was walking in the cool of the evening in the garden where God doesn't have a physical form is what the writer is saying so because we're humans we can only Fantom in the human form and that's what he was doing so he says give me understanding which means uh the the ability or I need the Insight give me Insight that I may learn your Commandments the word learn means to be taught or even to be trained in the Commandments of God a commandment is the body of laws it's a mandate an order a charge or even a precept so he asked God for a teachable heart that he may learn the Commandments of God because the writer understands and recognizes that it was God that made him it is God that formed him and since God made and formed him God made formed him shaped him and created him for a purpose for a goal since God is the Creator and the maker he's asking God for wisdom so that he can learn the precepts the laws that commands the word and the will of God and I think all of us need to have that same request to God on the floor we need to recognize that God made us and since God you made us I need you to teach me how to learn your words I need somebody to write that God teach me how to learn your words teach me how teach me how because his word is there but often times we don't know how to grasp whole until the word of God he continues his prayer and it's going to get kind of strange and kind of unique uh the prayer that he puts on the floor verses number 74 he says they now this phrase is going to show back up they that fear thee he says we'll be glad and really it's a prayer request so what he's saying is may they that fear thee now that word fear fear it really implies worship those that reverence reverence though they that fear thee will be glad when they see me and the reason they G to be glad is because I have hoped the word hoped means waited or hoped in or sometimes hoped uh oh hope four for now that your word notice every passage of scripture will have something that relates to the word of God his commandment his law his precept his statute his judgment every verse from the very first of the 119th Psalm all the way until the last very unique he says they that fear thee uh the word fear means to reverence or even it's another form of the word worship they will be glad they will rejoice they will be gladdened when they see me or he's saying may they be glad he wants to connect with others other believers so that they can have a fellowship he wants to connect with them he wants to be glad when he sees them he wants them to be glad when he see they see him so on and so forth he says because I have hoped in your word the word hope means to wait wait to hope to have an expectation or even to hope for or to be patient this appears to be a prayer request of the psalmist to meet other believers now you'll see a similar or similarity or Connection in vers number 78 where he wants to have a fellowship with those that worship with the Lord also so the ones that worship God will be glad when they see him and he will be glad when they he sees them verses number 75 he says I know I got a knowledge of something oh Lord now remember that word Lord is all capa it is the self-existent one uh uh uhoh he is the self-existent one number two there's that word judgment remember so far we've seen commandment we've seen word and we've seen judgment we're going to see a form of the word word or a form of the word of God in every verse he says I know oh Lord that thy judgments are right your judgments are right they are correct they operate in Justice your judgments are righteous and perform righteously and that thou in faithfulness ladies and gentlemen here's going to be a hard word to deal with because he says in faithfulness you have Afflicted me you have punished me you have corrected me in faithfulness and what he's saying is you have to punish my sin but when you punish my sin you're punishing me because I have sin but the reason you're punishing me is to correct me and to bring me back to where I am and any punishment that you're using is correct it is the right punishment and it will uh it will cause a return of the righteous thing or the proper thing uh God is the only one that knows how to un uh afflict a punishment on his people and he knows the proper one the amount of pressure the amount of time and everything and he does it not on a selfish level he does it because he is faithful the word faithful means he's just he's righteous he's Truth uh let me see so he understands excuse me he understands recognizes and confesses two things that he has a knowledge of I know oh Lord that your judgments are right and I know that in faithfulness you have Afflicted me he punishes es us according to truth and is always right to do it and he always gives us the right type of punishment afflictions or even chastisement so the psalmist recognize that he was afflicted by God but he was afflicted by God for his good because God is righteous and I'm so thankful to the Lord excuse me that he does not always deal with us according to our sin the 103d psalm but watch what he says he says that before he was afflicted he went astray but now he keeps the word of God in verses number 67 and number two he's also said that it was good that he had been Afflicted so that he can learn the statutes of God in verses number 71 so God dis iines his people because we need it it's called chastening of the Lord in Hebrews 12 so God has a way of dealing with his people unlike any other way oh Lord self-existent one uh I know that your judgments are right your judgments your sentences your punishments your afflictions or the justice that you have to do I know that they are right or what is right or what is Justice and I know that you're doing this in your faithfulness the word faithfulness remember means truth steadfastness and in his his firmness an Affliction means to be humbled and disciplined God humbled him is what he is saying now watch this the Bible said if you spare the rod you don't spoil a child he says you hate your son Proverbs 13- 24 whoever spares the rod hates his son now Dr Spar not not that guy from uh spaceship the real one is the one who calls the government to say that you can't spank your son but the Bible says bat him and he won't die correction is a form it's interesting that they tell us you cannot correct or whoop your child but when you put our boys Behind Bars you'll beat him to death you'll beat him to submit him and then there was a great thing of slavery which was an Affliction for no reason and America still his injust in that but we're going to leave that alone we're going to move forward so they said don't correct don't punish don't whoop but you Bo my man let's keep on going so God chastens us for our own profit uh that's Hebrews 12 and 10 so he understands that he was afflicted by God righteously and when God finishes he's going to come out great my dad was say boy the whooping you need to kill you D you're incorrect you did kill me cuz a couple of times I came back to life while you was whooping me you must have prayed for me but I thank God for two things the belt and the Bible God had to save me because my dad was going to kill come on somebody let's continue let's see he says I know I know oh Lord that your your judgments are right anything you do is correct now he's you're going to see a series of let five times in here 76 77 879 80 let I pray thee now that word I pray thee is an interesting word because it really means please and now it's a a friendly way of saying I pray thee or I entreat thee he says let I pray thee thy merciful kindness be for my comfort I need you to comfort me but I need you to comfort me With Your unfailing Love merciful kindness I need you to do this with your mercy I need while I'm being afflicted by you Lord I Need Your Mercy to bring Comfort because there's something to thing about God although he afflicts and punishes corrects chastens and a whops us there's always the mercy of God God never moves without his mercy and his grace there how do you know that because he didn't really punish the people of the old Covenant until because the Bible lets us know in he in Romans 3 the reason Christ had to get on the cross is so that the whole entire world can see the righteousness and the justce is of God so God spanked him a little bit but he leased his full punishment on the back of his son Jesus Jesus Christ so his prayer is that he is comforted by the mercy of God which he calls the merciful kindness he used the term which means now please I entreat you to come now please so there appears to be an urgency for the mercy of God to move upon him let I pray thee or I pray thee now or I entreat thee for your merciful kindness your kindness your grace your goodness or your unfailing love he says I need you to comfort me which means have compassion and console me or and to strengthen me uh according to your word so we've got commandment we've got statutes we've got law now we got the word word remember every verse you'll see a form of the word of God in there he says do this according to to your word unto thy servant according to your word according to your Torah according to the word of God or even according to the promise he says to do this now notice he calls himself a servant so we're dealing with a worshipper of God and he says God I understand that I'm being afflicted by you but I understand that your afflictions is righteous and you're doing it according to your truth and the purpose for you doing it is so that I can be made right with you but while you're doing it he says I pray thee send your merciful kindness uh to be my comfort and let it console me God is his prayer request now watch what else he says let let remember it's going to be always there from the from throughout the rest of the scriptures let your Tender Mercies do what come unto me in order for me to live again he says for your law there it is again so so far we've got commandment we got word we got precepts we got statute and we got law your law is my delight I'm delighting in your law is what he saying let your mercy or it's a prayer so he says may your Tender Mercies what are Tender Mercies compassions may your compassions come unto me so that I can live so that I can remain alive so that I can be quickened so that I can be restored to life or restored to health because he could be at this point living in a time of being corrected or a time of Affliction he could or could not be it's either or but he's calling for the compassion of God to come upon him so that he can live again then he says because I have a delight uh my or your law is my object of delight your law your direction your instruction your rule your word your judgment your Justice your commandment is a delight a delight in it uh it is an object of my delight and I have an enjoyment in your word is what the writer says let remember continue to go on or May the proud now he speaks against those that are proud May the proud be ashamed that word ashamed means to be pale may they be paleface and he says why he said because they have dealt perversely with me without a cause now that word Without a Cause right here ladies and gentlemen means a lie that's what it is now watch what he says although they are doing this with me against me he says but I am going to meditate there's another word for word and law I'm going to meditate in your law is what he says now if you want to uh download the notes for this there's a small donation of a $1.99 every now then I'll let y'all know this I've had people to jump on me and declare that we're paying for the word no you're not paying for the word precious heart you're just giving me a donation for my notes that's all sometime my notes is 12 Pages sometime it's eight pages whatever the case may be it's a lot of researching going into it and uh uh and I want to thank all of you all for your support that's all Precious Heart yes I won't tell you what the other sister said to me so here he says may your Tender Mercies or your compassion uh let them remain in me he says may the proud be ashamed the proud the proud the proud the Arrogant the presumptuous people they are proud because they disregard the word of God they are proud because they're not worshippers of the word of God they are proud he says and may the proud be ashamed the word for as shame means pale it means disconcerted may they be disappointed and disgraced this is his prayer that the Lord would make the a AR an people disgrace they're proud because they are centered around themselves but I need you to know Proverbs 6:16 says the Lord hates a proud the look as a matter of fact the proud had already dug pits for him which are not after God's law in verses number 85 but the Bible says he resisteth the proud but he giveth Grace un to the humble he said they have dealt perversely the word perversely means to pervert to Vex to bend to make crooked they have dealt perversely with me without cause the word without cause means deception it means lie falsehood and fraud so the proud have dealt perversely with him without a cause the phrase Without a Cause in the Hebrew means by a lie they have dealt with him crookedly in falsehood against him they are guilty of lies and their accusations against the psalmist the proud have lied on and against the psalmist for no reason H he says but I'm going to meditate which means to put forth my thoughts and to concentrate on your precepts your commands your statutes and your laws that is something that every believer needs to do we need to focus on the precepts of God take your phone put it on camera put it up to that thing right there touch that button it'll take you to the notes and type in the the the notes that you're looking for he says but I will meditate I am going to meditate I'm going to concentrate on I'm going to bring up to my remembrance your precepts your laws your judgments your word your Bible while they are the proud are dealing with me and have dealt with me in an unrighteous manner he says God I'm going to focus on and I need every believer every believer need to understand that we need to focus on the precepts of God I know haters come I know opposers come but look at what the writer says he says I want you to take the proud those that are arrogant those that don't want to submit to your word those that oppose me they might even be my adversaries he said I want you to take them and and make them a disgrace shame them excuse me he says uh he says make them pale in the face I want you to shame them while you're doing that God I'm not going to focus on them what I'm going to do is I'm going to Delight in your law oh I'm going to meditate on your precepts I'm going to get deeper in your word deeper in your will I'm going to continue to glorify you this is a prayer and this is what we need to do beloved Believers quit focusing on the haters quit focusing on the people that are against you quit focusing on those who don't love you those who prosecute you persecute you speak against you quit focusing on them and do like the writer said I'm going to meditate on your precepts I'm going to rejoice in your word is what he says he is going to do you'll be better off to concentrate and focus and meditate on God he says let let May those that fear you ah the worshippers yeah oh something like that yeah the the the worshippers I want them them to turn unto me since these those that are have been operating uh uh uh in a ungodly way he what do he call them he says the per those they have perversely uh they have dealt perversely with me without a cause the proud those the ones he says I want you to deal with them God while I'm concentrating on your word he said but those that fear you the worshipers God those that have a re and a respect for you uh excuse me those that honor you I'm still on the six side those that honor you Lord he says I want you to turn turn them uh cause them to come back to me uh in the previous verse remember he spoke against the proud for God to make them ashamed but in this verse uh and verses number 7 this is where the connection verses 74 and verses number 79 he did deals with those that fear God he wants another fellowship he uses another word for judgments Justice um precepts laws and so on and that's the word testimonies testimonies is the another word for law he says and those that have known thy testimonies he wants to have a fellowship with those that have known them call them to return and let us go together in unity and this last prayer is the word let last time he deals now with his heart he wants his heart to be sound to be solid he wants his heart to be sure he wants it to be complete yeah Lord Make My Heart make it perfect in you is what he wants it's a beautiful prayer let my heart be sound last word in your statutes know the word for statutes is in the word of God or in God's precepts in his judgments yes I I want them uh so that I won't be ashamed now you he he prayed for God to make them ashamed but he doesn't want to be a disgrace there it is ladies and gentlemen if you want to support this channel he he says let those that fear thee turn unto me let us I want to have a fellowship with my brothers and my sisters the ones that love who and who knows your testimony they they know your words he says and let my heart so he does not want to end up like the proud which is a shame he prays for his heart to be sound in the statutes of God he seeks to do right by God by by following his commands he Delights in the law of God in verse 77 he is hoped in God's word in vers number 74 and here he prays that his heart is perfect in the decrees of God he does not want to be pale or ashamed or disgraced like the proud that's it ladies and gentlemen I hope that you uh uh Artistry kit all pencils crayons art paper ink and it's a come in the case and they were so excited and I got sick while I was doing it and this thing hit my eyes and Lady Jones my wife led the people in prayer and subjected me unto her made me go in the office and sat down somewhere and made them made them lock the doors and told don't nobody come in here this man got to go home so I'm still recovering from that and yes Saints if I didn't I let somebody slip in and yes Lady Jones whoop me all the way home I had to hear it pastors we get whippings by our wives yes she got on me so I'm on lockdown right now she's not here so I'm on lockdown when I finish I'm going to get back into the rest mode but I wanted to do this so y'all continue to pray for me listen find somebody especially a
