Importance of Data Entry

• Data entry is a crucial process.
• Data from questionnaires is entered into a spreadsheet.
• Different types of data: Nominal, Categorical, etc.

Example of Questionnaire

• Example: Customer questionnaire of "Asim's Chocolate Factory".
• Customers provide their information such as age, gender, and expenses.

Data Entry Process

• Various variables are entered into SPSS:
  • Age: Numeric and Scale type.
  • Gender: Numeric form with 1 (Male) and 2 (Female).
  • Groceries per Month: In numeric form.
  • Chocolate Amount: In numeric form.
  • Chocolate Preference: Nominal data.
  • Satisfaction Level: Ordinal data.
  • Rebuy: Ordinal data.

Using SPSS Software

• Preliminary Window appears when opening SPSS.
• Initial Settings: Set up so that this dialog does not appear next time.
• Importance and usage of Variable View and Data View.

Variable Entry Process

• Enter variable names (age, gender, expenses, etc.).
• Set the label and measurement type (Scale, Nominal, Ordinal) of the variable.
• Set input values for variables (e.g., Male = 1, Female = 2 for Gender).

Examples of Entry

1. Age: 45 (Scale)
2. Gender: 1 (Male)
3. Groceries per Month: 20,000 (Numeric)
4. Chocolate Preference: 3 (White Chocolate)
5. Satisfaction Level: 1 (Highly Satisfied)
6. Rebuy: 1 (Highly Likely)
