    • 1 in 10 people in the U.S. live in poverty, limiting access to healthy foods, healthcare, and housing.
    • Economic stability is crucial for health, as people with steady employment are less likely to live in poverty and more likely to be healthy.

Challenges

  • Difficulty in finding and maintaining employment, especially for:
    • Individuals with disabilities
    • People with conditions like arthritis
  • Even those with steady jobs may not earn enough to meet needs.

Solutions

  • Employment programs
  • Career counseling
  • High-quality child care opportunities
  • Policies aiding in the affordability of food, housing, healthcare, and education to:
    • Reduce poverty
    • Enhance health and well-being
