Neville Goddard's Manifestation Techniques Summary

Neville Goddard's climbing a ladder exercise. This video was request by youtuber Your Angel-ness. Neville gave the climbing a ladder exercise to his students to imagine for three nights climbing up and down a ladder until one fell asleep and just as important during the day they were to have written down the words I will not climb a ladder and have these written words placed on wherever one would regularly see them during the day. And when you would see these words, you would really mean it, that you will not climb a ladder.

After three days, you let it go, and at the end of the week, if you climbed a ladder, you were welcome back to Neville's next lecture, which ended up being a much smaller group. Neville told those who came back the following week, according to his student, E. O. Locker. Now you all climbed the ladder and you could have just as easily made a million bucks in cash as you did in climbing the ladder. I'm going to teach you how to be healthy, wealthy, and wise.

Paraphrasing Locker's words. For three nights, you imagine climbing a ladder to sleep. You sleep in a position you don't normally sleep in.

Like if you normally sleep on your left side, then you sleep on your right side for these three nights. Or if you don't normally sleep on your back, then you sleep on your back. So when you go to bed in an unfamiliar position, you're less likely to just go right off to sleep, as you normally would.

Instead, in your imagination, in first person, as though you were actually climbing a ladder here and now, and you keep repeating climbing up and down a ladder until you fall asleep. Close your eyes and picture a ladder in front of you. Take your imaginary left hand and reach out and take hold of the left side of the ladder with your imaginary left hand. And then with your imaginary right hand, reach out and take hold of the right side of the ladder.

Now with your imaginary left foot, lift it up and put it on the first rung. Now push yourself up. and start climbing the ladder. When you get to the top of the ladder, climb back down, then climb back up, and then climb back down again. When you wake up in the morning, you must write several notes saying, I will not climb a ladder, and mean it with all of your heart.

When you write it and see it. Back in Neville's day, he had his students write the words, I will not climb a ladder, and put the note in their wallet. or they'd see it throughout the day when they take their wallet out, or to put it on the mirror so every morning when one grooms him or herself, he would see this note. In modern day, people have had success in creating a picture with the words, I will not climb a ladder, and using it on their cell phone lock screen as well as wallpaper.

And it can also be saved on your laptop and or your PC as a screensaver and wallpaper. Neville stressed, that it was important to not only imagine climbing a ladder in the imagination to sleep, but also writing the words, I will not climb a ladder, and placing the notes in places where you will see them throughout the day. He stressed that you must do both of these things, or nothing that is being taught will work, and then after three days, you drop it.

Some climb the ladder soon, or within the week, or sometimes it happens later. And there are some cases where people said they did not climb a ladder. In the cases of those who did not climb the ladder, you can repeat the exercise another three days, or you can go beyond three days until you do climb the ladder, or you can also try it for something more simpler.

But once you succeed in climbing your ladder, the ladder is just a placeholder for whatever it is you want in life. The ladder of health, wealth, happiness, love, wisdom, whatever it is you want. Climbing a ladder seems such an ordinary, arbitrary task. We must learn to look at all of our goals in this way.

Climbing a ladder is just a placeholder for any of our heartfelt desires in life. This exercise showed how, on one hand, the power of imagining into sleep, vividly imagining, can triumph over a whole day of thinking of the opposite, that one will not climb a ladder and meaning it, and on the other hand, feeling the opposite. that one will not climb a ladder may have also removed any resistance that could have delayed the desired outcome another thing this exercise can teach you is to go general with a simple desire versus conditioning it and creating possible further resistance since we aren't attached to climbing a ladder we aren't going to ask endless questions about the details of the ladder or how it's going to come about If you do not climb the ladder within a week, do not beat yourself up about it, as we live in a time where there are more distractions, and people's skills to imagine, especially vividly, have atrophied. Just like a pianist must practice playing piano regularly to build the discipline, and one pointed, yet relaxed focus to perfect his or her skill, so must we with the art of imagining. if you are having trouble imagining a good tip from poster anonymous coward from a godlike productions forum posted the best exercise nevill taught is at the end of your day start remembering Every little thing that took place in your day.

How did you get in bed? Did you brush your teeth? Pet the dog? What did you last eat? How did it smell or taste?

Did you have a conversation before bed? What did you think about in your day? day that you did not complete. And stay on task. Encouraging focus is the most important thing.

Don't get discouraged. Get right back on. Refocus.

I tell you, if you stick with this, no matter how long it takes to get good, your life is going to change in ways you aren't capable of imagining yet. This would also be a fantastic time to revise any vexations that may have occurred during your day. instead repeat several times until it takes on the tones of reality what you want to have seen or heard instead in nevill's words from his lesson one consciousness is the only reality lecture The difference will be appreciated if you will now visualize yourself climbing a ladder.

Then with eyelids closed, imagine that a ladder is right in front of you, and feel yourself actually climbing it. Experience has taught me to restrict the imaginary actions, which implies fulfillment of your desire, to condense the idea into a single act, and to reenact it over and over again, until it has the feeling of reality. Locker went on to use the exercise to get within two months' time $25,000, equivalent to a quarter of a million dollars today.

And just in a few weeks from that, he got his own Arthur Murray dance studio, when before Neville's exercise it had not been possible. He also went on to become a happy multimillionaire. In Locker's words, I had an unbelievably interesting life because I have no worries.

I have nothing to worry about because I know if I get into any kind of trouble that I can imagine my way out of it. Because the thing that runs your life and everybody else's life is what you're thinking when you go to sleep. That's what runs your life completely.

If you take my advice, you will never go to sleep depressed. You will never go to sleep unhappy. If you're unhappy, then you think whatever it is that will make you feel happy and grateful.

There's always someone out there who has it worse. Paraphrased. So take Neville's challenge and climb the ladder in your imagination for three nights. For those who climb the ladder, please post back here your success stories, that they may inspire others to successfully climb the ladder. as well.

Neville Goddard's Wonderful Waterfall Imaginal Session from the Coin of Heaven Lecture 1954. Now because this is my last Sunday, I will give you what I gave the class last Friday. Do not see it as just a metaphorical picture. See it as an actual picture. Imagine yourself at the very base of a wonderful waterfall, and the water is flowing beautifully on you, and imagine it's flowing through you, and now from you, and flowing towards someone you think of.

I make this statement because it's a true statement. We are now in Eden, but we are asleep, as told you in the second of Genesis. Man went sound asleep when he was placed to dress it and to keep it. To awake, Do this.

Just imagine yourself the center through which water radiates and everyone in this world rooted in you and ends in you as you are rooted in the end in God so you are in God's garden it's Eden but in God's garden every man in the world has a plot a little garden in that garden there are trees that grow you can see them if i look at this man now and inwardly look at his plot in my garden i will see some trees some will be called health some i call wealth the of dignity, the tree of nobility, the tree of being wanted. They may be withered. They will never really die, but they may be withered.

They are in need of water. Just imagine that you are watering that plant, and see in your mind's eye the leaves appear on what formerly was a barren plant. See the fruits appear, and wherever he is in the world as you water his garden, which really is your own garden, as you water it he will embody the very qualities that the tree is now beginning to bear and radiate.

You name the tree, whatever you name it, that it is. And you name this one, if you know he is unwanted, he wants to be wanted. You name it, and let the water flow towards it.

Imagine it growing healthily in the garden, and see it put out its leaves, and see it put out its fruit. Wherever he is in this world, he will begin to be wanted by people in his world. If he is unemployed, it's a tree of employment, and see it radiate its leaves and radiate its fruits.

He will be wanted, and he will be gainfully employed. I tell you, this is not just an idle statement. Everyone here can do it, and everyone should do it. And whenever you water the tree in anyone's gardens, at the same time, you are watering your own garden in the Eternal One of God. For I am the vine, and ye are the branches.

Every man can say the same thing. So as you rise here, there are 2,600 of you. You individually are the central vine of God's garden, and everyone in your world is a branch in that vine. So when I, as a central vine, water a branch in my garden, at that same moment, I am being watered, and my garden is being watered in your wonderful garden.

I don't have to water my own. Just by taking care of the many gardens in God's Eden, I can take care of my own garden. garden that is in the vine of everyone in the world. You try it.

You can bless everyone in the world, and then eventually, the eyes open, the ears open, the inner man awakes, and you see the most glorious world which is always here to be seen. Only we and our sleep have to do it. shut it out. We shut the whole wonderful golden world out by going to sleep and becoming an automaton.

But take me seriously, for your next life is this life. You make this life what you want to make it. because if you don't, you will find yourself automatically and you won't even know it because as a sleeping person, you don't know you are walking the same track. But if I could only take you within me and let you see with the eye of the inner eye and watch these automatons in the world, sleeping people, yes, their eyes are open and they seem to be awake, but they're really sound asleep for they're repeating the same thing. Now become conscious.

As you become conscious, you enter the most glorious circle of awakened humanity. I call it the conscious circle of humanity, or as my old teacher used to call it, the brothers. It simply means the awakened man, and when he awakes, they're all glorious beings, for they are all the image of the Divine One. So try it.

Try it today with the art of revision. At the end of the day, review today. If there was some unlovely thing in the day, don't allow it, you rewrite it. Take the same scene and rewrite it, and having rewritten it, replay it.

In your imagination, you imagine the action to be unfolding, and you replay everything in the world. As you replay it as you ought to have played it the first time, you've changed it. And the moment is never receding as people think, the moment is advancing. Now this may seem an insane statement to tell you, that yesterday is today's future.

It seems insane you think it's not. It's past, but by the curvature of time you will discover, but you will not know it, because you will be asleep unless you begin to awaken, and you will come upon what is yesterday in your future, for the moment is never receding, it is always advancing into the future to confront us. And so if you don't change it, you will simply find yourself repeating over and over what luckily, in God's infinite mercy, that sleep shuts out the memory of it.

So you are doing it, and you think you're doing it for the first time. But I ask you to awake for the purpose of this platform, is to awaken everyone who comes here that we may all enter this brotherhood of awakened humanity. And now let us go into the silence. The waterfall technique.

The spiritual waterfall technique is a simple tool that you can use to rid yourself of negative energies you are carrying. First, imagine that there is a pure, brilliant white waterfall above you, and it is washing over your body. This waterfall comes crashing down on you, and as it does, you begin to feel clean, pure, and refreshed. Second, imagine this waterfall cleansing every negative aspect in your life and focus on that energy being removed from your body. Have you been angry?

Let it wash away. Depressed? Let it go. Scared?

Let it slide off as the water rains down you. Every negative thought and emotion, just let it go. Thirdly, let this waterfall run over you until you feel no more negative thoughts.

Take several deep breaths and blow out every negative bit of energy. Visualize your aura that surrounds your body being cleansed and transformed into bright, radiating colors. You are light and you are ready to go out into the world and be more positive, loving, compassionate and so much more.

Once you can imagine and visualize your aura being changed from negative to positive, you will know the waterfall technique has worked for you. Believe in it and trust it. This technique can work for anyone, an open mind, an open heart, ridding yourself of negative energies. This technique can be used when you're taking a shower. Allow the feeling of the water running down your body help you to realize that negative energies are running down and out as well.

Give it a try and see how it can change your energies and how you can affect the ones around you in amazing ways. Neville Goddard's Breathing Technique I bring before my mind's eye a scene which would imply that I am the one that I want to be, or that my friend or others are as I would like them to be. Try to confine it within the framework of the golden rule, that is, doing unto others what I would love them to do unto me, and not to go outside of that rule. Bring them before your mind's eye and dare to assume what you are seeing in your mind's eye is true. Now there's a definite technique to it, a simple, simple technique.

If I can share with you what I do and it works. I bring them into my mind's eye and I work myself into an emotional state. It's like a peculiar rhythm.

I breathe in and breathe out and breathe in and breathe out and suddenly I reach a certain point and then one deep inhalation as though I'm setting it up in a time exposure before my own mind. I set it up and then all of the sudden I have a deep, deep inhalation and every pore of my being explodes and then I do nothing beyond that. It's taking that scene and setting it up in a time exposure before the eternal event and then I explode it and then let life develop it and life develops it. And then I get the call.

Or I get the wire. Or I get a letter confirming that which I did, and I do nothing to make it so. I simply believed implicitly in Jesus Christ. But I found him. I have found him as my own wonderful human imagination.

I believe that all things are possible to him. He has ways and means that the mortal mind knows not of. So I do not care if I do not see clearly how it could possibly be. It makes no difference to me.

I simply bring it in my mind's eye, what I want to see, see it clearly, explode it, and then let it be. Now it could be tomorrow, it could be a month, it could be even years, I am not concerned. I have done it, and that's all that matters as far as I'm concerned.

Everything has its own appointed hour. See the vision, that was my vision. The vision has its own appointed hour.

It ripens, it will flower. If it is long, wait. It is sure, and it will not be late. A little chicken, 21 days.

A man, 9 months. A horse, 12 months. A little lamb, 5 months.

And there's a time interval between that impregnation and the actual embodiment of that state. And I do not know the time intervals. I only know all I do, I do it.

And if that time interval is a day, well, it's a day. If it's going to be a month, let it be a month. I do not know the time intervals between my vision of you being the one, being the one you want to be, and you becoming that which I have assumed that you are. I do not know the time intervals, but there are time intervals between the impregnation and the birth of that impregnation. But I tell you, it works.

Let me once more try to explain this simple, simple technique. You will have to practice it and use your own rhythm. You don't have to be in church to do it. You can be sitting here tonight. You can be at home listening to nice music.

You can be simply relaxing with a drink. It doesn't matter what you're doing or where you are, but want to do it. Get into a lovely, quiet, relaxed frame.

No so-called holy attitude. Forget that. You're holy when you're in love.

God is love. So you would love it for someone else. That is all that you need.

That mood. Wouldn't it be wonderful if she actually had it? If he had it?

If they had it? Oh, so you know exactly what you want now. And then you imagine you are seeing them.

You can see them in your mind's eye and see them vividly. And then breathe yourself into a rhythm. They're telling you that they have it.

And you're getting yourself worked up emotionally. Because they're telling you that they have exactly. what you know they want in this world. And then you reach a certain point, and you explode. Something actually goes out of you.

It's power. So you work yourself up into a certain emotional state. And then suddenly, you explode. And you feel everything go out. And you cannot repeat it.

There's no desire to repeat it. It was an actual, psychic, sexual act. But there's no physical act.

There's no evidence of any physical act. But it's the same thrill that you would were it a physical act. Work yourself right into that state and let it go.

And do not raise one finger to make it so, any more than you would after impregnation. What can you do after pregnancy has taken place? Nothing.

You leave it alone and let it take place in its own good time. Neville Goddard, Andrew, Lecture Excerpts, 1971. Will I tell you again the breathing technique? I find if I call before my mind's eye what I would like to activate, and I make it so that it really thrills me.

A conversation between two friends discussing the fulfillment of their dream, which is my dream for them. And then you breathe in and you breathe out. Your inhale and exhale is a complete personal thing. I can't give you the numbers. You don't do it once, twice, or fifty times.

It's entirely up to you to breathe in and breathe out. while you are listening to this conversation and bring yourself to the limit of a thrill. Then with one deep, deep inhalation, your whole body explodes. Every little atom seems to open and something goes out.

As you are told in scripture, Who has touched me, for I perceive virtue has gone out of me. You touched it on the inside. You made it real and you exploded. It comes with the last inhalation. But this is something that is very personal.

You must try it. Neville Goddard, The Secret of the Sperm, Audio Lecture Excerpt 1222nd3245 asked a very interesting question. Do you have or know of any excerpts or lectures where he, Neville Goddard, gives specifics about creating stronger assumptions, tips to sustain them, and tips to sustaining longer attention? Generally speaking, throughout Neville's various lectures, it simply comes down to practice.

Neville would compare it to, say, a concert pianist, that every day the pianist will practice. And Neville would talk about just using it as a way of life, from the small things to the big things, and especially at night, looking over your entire day, and if there is anything unlovely, to revise it. Revise it as many times as needed, until it takes on the tones of reality. and you feel you have moved, there's some change.

You don't see things the same way, your mood has changed. But more specifically, here are several different exercises Neville gave in various lectures as well as in one of his books. My old friend Abdullah gave me this exercise. Every day, I would sit in my living room where I could not see the telephone in the hall. With my eyes closed, I would assume I was in the chair by the phone.

Then I would feel myself back in the living room. This I did over and over again, as I discovered the feeling of changing motion. This exercise was very helpful to me.

If you try it, you will discover you become very loose with this exercise. Practice the art of motion, and one day you will discover that by the very act of imagining, you are detached from your physical body and placed exactly where you are imagining yourself to be, so much so that you are seen by those who are there. From the Secret of Prayer Lecture 1967 Here is another exercise that I have found very helpful.

At home, where I know what every part of a given room looks like, I sit in a chair facing one wall, and with my eyes closed, I look ahead and see not the wall that is in front of me, but the one that is behind me. I see that wall in my mind's eye, and it is now in front of me. Then the room has reversed itself, or I have reversed myself. Throughout the whole Bible, there is this tone of reversibility. I discovered as I read it that it means this.

So I see what is behind me as if it were in front of me. Here is another exercise. I would sit physically in my living room in New York City and assume that I was actually standing on the street in front of my apartment house.

And standing there on the street, I would see every detail on the marquee of the building. Physically, I was in my living room on the 16th floor, but in my imagination, I was on the street and I was seeing it. Then, in imagination, I would walk back into the building, come upstairs, and sit down where Iso was.

And the next time, I actually did go out and took Iso. When I reached the street and looked at the marquee, I saw on it what I had not noticed the last time I looked at it physically. From Esau and Jacob Lepidus.

lecture 1959. Now about a week ago I suggested a certain technique that I learned from my old friend Abdullah. Sitting physically in one place and assuming that I'm physically seated in another place and I go from place to place. After a while it becomes so easy and then you can open your eyes at the place where physically you really are not and when you do so you open that eye with a shock. If I am seated in a big chair in my living room and imagine I'm seated in the bedroom, when I want the shock, I open my eye while I am imagining I'm seated in the bedroom. If I open my eye when I imagine I'm seated in the living room where the body was in the beginning, there's no shock.

But there's a shock to open your eyes where the body is not, because it seems so real to you. And this is how you exercise this talent. From the Secret of the Sperm lecture.

And a final exercise. To aid in mastering the control of your attention, practice this exercise. Night after night, just before you drift off to sleep, strive to hold your attention on the activities of the day in reverse order. Focus your attention on the last thing you did, that is, getting into bed, and then move it backwards in time over the events until you reach the first event of the day, getting out of the bed. This is no easy exercise, but just as specific exercises greatly help in developing specific muscles, this will greatly help in developing the muscle of your attention.

Your attention must be developed, controlled, and concentrated in order to change your concept of yourself successfully and thereby change your future. Imagination is able to do anything, but only according to the internal direction of your attention. If you persist night after night, sooner or later you will awaken in yourself a center of power and become conscious of your greater self, the real you. Attention is developed by repeated exercise or habit. Through habit, an action becomes easier and so, in course of time, give rise to a facility or faculty which can then be put to higher uses.

When you attain control of the internal direction of your attention, you will no longer stand in shallow water, but will launch out into the deep of life. You will walk in the assumption of the wish fulfilled, as on a foundation more solid even than earth. From the book, The Power of Awareness, Chapter 6, Neville Goddard. Neville Goddard Imaginary Technique Exercise The first step in changing your future is desire.

What is it that you want? What would give you joy? If you had what you wanted, what is an event that would happen the next day?

Choose a single short action or scene. Your friend may shake your hand, or you may receive a check, or sleep in the bed in your new home, or sleep in the arms of your beloved. And start to become aware of your breath, watching it flow in and out like the gentle ocean waves on the shore. And as you watch your breath, it is natural that your inhalations and exhalations become longer as you become more relaxed. And now the event you selected.

Now begin to enter the picture. and see the world from this event. What are you hearing and what are you seeing?

If you were to touch something, what do you feel? And what do you smell? And if you can taste something, what do you taste? And now replay the action or short scene over and over again, once the scene feels real.

and you feel a shift in your emotions towards joy and or relief, then let it go. When you're ready, open your eyes and go about your day, or let yourself drift off to sleep in this feeling. This allows your subconscious to really take hold of the image.

If you were able to vividly imagine, like you naturally do in a daydream or fantasy, you may find that when you open your eyes, you will be somewhat shocked that the scene you were replaying was not real. and continue in this feeling of your wish fulfilled walk in the air of its fragrance throughout your day if you feel to repeat this exercise then repeat it but if you find that you don't then don't have faith in your imaginal act and walk towards its realization And this ends the compilation on Neville Goddard's various manifesting exercises.
