[Music] knit hi everyone okay in the previous video I have discussed the history of sociology and what are the factors behind the birth of sociology maybe if you have watched yesterday's video you already have an idea how the process of sociology was born and what events are behind it if you haven't watched it I suggest you watch the previous video first so that it is clearer and connects with the theme that I will discuss now continuing in this video I will discuss the history of the development of sociology in Indonesia and who are the figures who played a role in the development of sociology in Indonesia but as usual before continuing for those who haven't subscribed don't forget to subscribe okay okay okay at the beginning of independence sociology in Indonesia was not too familiar men in fact you could say there were no scientists who specifically studied sociology but actually the concepts of sociology are dada and many are contained in various works and teachings of poets in the archipelago well one of them is the work of sri paduka mangkunegoro 4 from surakarta where this bio has included elements of human relations from various different groups into his spiritual teachings in his written teachings there are many aspects sociology especially regarding patterns of intergroup relations besides Sri Paduka Mangkunegoro, our 4 fathers of education, namely Ki Hajar Dewantara, have also left traces of sociological concepts in Indonesia, especially his concepts of family and leadership. The practice of his teachings is widely applied in his educational organization, namely Taman Siswa [Music] Hi, okay, next, the development of sociology during the struggle for independence before World War II, Indonesia only had one law school in Jakarta, the only higher education institution before the independence era that provided lectures on sociology in Indonesia. Since there was no sociology specialization in Indonesia or the Netherlands, the teachers, if they did not come from a sociological background and their teachings were still philosophical and social theories. So, sociology lectures at the school were temporarily discontinued in 1930-1935. The reason was because the professors were of the opinion that knowledge about the form and structure of society and the processes that occur in it was not necessary in the lesson of punishment. They also believed that what was important to learn was positive law, namely the regulations that were legally applicable in a certain time and a certain place the last development of sociology after the period of Indonesian independence after the proclamation of Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945 the development of sociology in Indonesia has experienced quite a lot of progress this can be seen from the provision of sociology courses for the first time in Indonesian, namely in 1948 at the Yogyakarta Political Science Academy or what is currently the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UGM, the development of sociology has been increasingly rapid since 1950 where opportunities have become more open for Indonesian students to study abroad so that many Indonesian students specifically study sociology and when they return to Indonesia, many teach their knowledge besides that, other evidence of the development of sociology in Indonesia is the increasing number of sociology books in Indonesia with the publication of the first sociology book written directly by Djody Gondokusumo entitled Indonesian Sociology in 1950 after that another book appeared in the same year published by Bardosono, namely a dictation on sociology courses since then more and more books on sociology have been published, both written by Indonesians or foreign translations, for example, social changes in Yogyakarta written by Hello Soemardjan In 1962, another book on sociology for Indonesian society was published, written by Hassan Shadily. After that, social and political science faculties began to emerge in various universities in Indonesia, which studied more deeply about science, especially with the establishment of sociology departments, sociology has developed even further to this day. Well, that was the development of sociology from the beginning of independence until the post- independence period, as well as the figures who played a role in the development of sociology in Indonesia. Okay, if you have any suggestions on what material you want us to discuss, please write it in the comments column, okay, cool. [ Music]
