we've done our we do we've chosen the appropriate attire all right for Salah and then we've come to the Masjid and we've understood the position for men and stands for women with respect to Salah in the Masjid now we speak about another aspect which is the what do you think we're going to talk about now the what is left before the Salah begins oh did you say something see the place of prayer something else something you heard today yeah the Advan the call to the prayer another aspect of the Salah that is massively underappreciated a huge Underdog when it comes to the race for people's attention and that's a gross miscalculation when you see people competing to be the Imam the leader of the congregation but no one seems to compete to be the most and that is a gross miscalculation and that is a gross misunderstanding the call to the prayer is not just an announcement that Salah has come it is more than that when was the last time you experienced the joys of Adan and you unlock the reward of Adam but you see what is sad is that a lot of brothers subhanallah they calculate their coming to the Masjid such that they will miss the adhan and just about make the iqama so a year two years may pass by and they will not hear the Adan in person perhaps only on Friday because he will time his coming to the Masjid he will not say what time is Adan he will say what time is ikama foreign this is an opportunity that has been missed out upon Miss doubt on the adhan what do we know about the Adan first of all what we know is that shaytan despises the Adam he hates it it causes him a very negative reaction and that is why the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said foreign when the Adan happens the call to the prayer shaytan flees the scene and he passes wind so that he doesn't hear the advance what a corrupt being he passes wind so that he doesn't hear the name of Allah being glorified it bothers him when the Adan finishes shaytan comes back foreign happens the second call to the prayer to announce that the Salah is about to start he runs he comes back to join the prayer but not to do Salah of course Allah he said shaytan then begins to whisper to those who are praying and he says remember this recall that remember this recall that till he leaves a person in a situation not knowing how much he prayed so shaytan hates the adhan that in itself should pique our interest he hates it why let us understand the Adan there's a dimension that perhaps we are missing out on therefore when the Adan happens it's not just the white noise it's not just an old animal an old Uncle screaming at the top of his voice and you're talking to your friend or you're scrolling through your phone no hold on a minute pause absorb what is happening Allah's name is being glorified Salah is being announced what is happening first of all there is a huge Bounty associated with those who are courageous enough to give the other and that's why the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said the one who gives will have his sins forgiven because of the voice that he raises and everything that hears his sound whether it is moist or dry meaning all creation will confirm will repeat after him I listened to this third one he says and he will be given the reward of everyone who takes part in that Salah subhanallah so how many people do we have here with our sisters 250 300 people so the brother who gave the advance today he enjoys the Salah of 300 people now you will say to yourself come on realistically speaking I'm not going to give the other so you can you can spice it up as much as you want brother Ali I'm not going to give the other right I know my voice and I know my confidence and I know what the uncle is going to say if I put myself forward and you will give yourself all sorts of uh excuses by the way I am also terrified of the agan I'm sorry to say that and that's because of a bad experience I had as a as a kid I remember in Arabic School in those Saturday classes and somebody asked me to give the Adan maybe just 30 40 of us and I came and I I was a she is just all over the place saying everything wrong people were correcting me and I just got nervous and I wasn't even that oh that young like I think I was 16 or 17. so one of the brother said all right you sit down and then a kid came up and he gave the other and I never got over that situation till this day I will avoid the Adan even if it's just at home with three or four people I will say no obey the Hugo give the other no you give the other but if I'm giving a lecture say 20 000 people no problem in Leeds we had light up on light Masha Allah 15 000 people no problem you know it's it's just a number with the Adan it's becomes an issue so don't fall into my problem here right you challenge yourself especially if you haven't hit the age of 30 you're still growing right challenge yourself so there is there is a fear to it but there is also a reward he said he will be given the reward of everyone who prays with him so we were saying you will say I'm not going to give the other so what is in it for me I take use of Han Allah to the Hadith that the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam said whoever hears the Adan and repeats after the Adan will be given the same rewarding we'll be given the same reward as the one who gave the other so imagine you are in Mecca you're praying in the Haram there's a hundred thousand people masha'allah around the Kaaba doing Salah and then says and you repeat after him then gets all of the hundred thousand people and you get a copy of that as well because you repeat it after them so when it happens silence the brother next to you say just a moment listen to the Adan and repeat after him in a conscious and in an intentional Manner and take the opportunity that Allah has given you a brief history of Adan and we will stop here inshaallah in the next three or four minutes a brief history of the tashiriya the legislation of Adan what is the story behind Adam and how did it become part of the religion Adan was introduced into our religion in year one after the Hijra to the city of Medina so as soon as they arrived at the city of Medina within a few weeks perhaps Allah Almighty had legislated the Adan it is that Central to our religion how did it start well our Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam had not been given any information from Allah Almighty yet about how to call the people to Salah we were praying five times a day but there was no specific Divine instruction about how to go about calling people announcing masala and this bothered the prophet Muhammad Ali Islam so some people they said why don't we Hoist the flag for each Salah when it's time for those we put a flag and people see it and they they come to Salah prophet sallallahu he didn't like the idea one of the companions said how about we use the shabur the horn that the Jews blow into to call for Salah we can copy them Prophet salallahu didn't like the idea he said this is the matter of the Jews it's not us somebody said why don't we introduce a knuckles a church bell we can also bring a bell for our Salah and the prophet sallallahu didn't like this idea he said this is the matter of the Christians it's not ours and there was no answer and one of those people who were bothered by this was a man by the name of Abdullah Abdullah and he fell asleep that evening in the state of unease an apprehension or anxiety about the situation and so he saw a dream and in the dream he saw a man carrying a bell a narcos and he said to him excuse me will you sell me your bell and the man said for what purpose he said so that we can use it to invite people for Salah she said shall I tell you of something that is better than the Bell he said yes he said to him repeat after me Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allah in Allah is then the man disappeared for a moment all of this is still in the dream and then he came back he said and when the time for iqama happens just before the prayer begins repeat after me Allahu Akbar Allah and he came to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and by the way one of the signs of a true dream is that you remember its ins and outs you wake up and it is vivid he went to the prophet and he said o messenger of Allah I saw this dream and the prophet said to him it is a true dream it is from Allah so go to Bilal teach him the words that you saw tell him to go and give the Adan because his voice is more beautiful than yours had that been anyone else he would have said hold on a minute that's my dream this is my uh property my intellectual property right and we would have gotten upset and fought over it the companions weren't like that was it about who's at the front and who's at the back and who's appearing cutting the red ribbon and who's introducing the project this wasn't their issue he said go to Bilal and teach him what you saw and he will give the adhan because his voice his voice is better than yours and subhanallah as this conversation was happening who comes out of his home dragging his clothes all over the floor he had just about enough time to cover himself he's so happy and he said o messenger of Allah I swear by Allah I saw the exact same dream last night all Praises due to Allah this is the story of Adan and how it was introduced into our religion of course it wasn't the dream that brought it into the religion we all see dreams what made it part of the religion was the confirmation of the Prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam through Revelation that brought it into their religion I hope this point is clear as for the details of the Adan and what these statements they mean and why they are ordered the way they are inshaallah and we will cover this next week if Allah gives us life until then
