Asalamu alaikum Wa alaikum salam Non halal food forbidden in the Shia From that traffic light to that traffic light Inside of this street every restaurant is halal Ad rasul Allah Al-Arabiya You can see you got Muslims working at the front Peace be upon you Alhamdulillah Good morning from Beijing. So today is Juma. It's my second to last day in Beijing.
And we're gonna be checking out the Muslim area, the mosque, some halal restaurants over there. I think I might be a little late for Juma but we're still gonna go check out the area. So we're heading there right now.
Going in the subway. It's gonna take like 50 minutes to get there. So we're walking to the mosque.
We're on the 10-minute walk from the station. New Jiyah. The area is very nice. You walk around there's so many people wearing hijab, so many people wearing the Muslim cap and it's just beautiful because there's also a lot of halal restaurants.
praying so first up I'm gonna go check out the mosque even though it's a little after pray time we got to go see it and show it to you all and I need to pray so let's go there and then let's go check out some of these halal restaurants there's a bunch around here like all these street snack spots you see are halal and there's long lines in all of them always Look at this. Now we're going to the mosque. So amazing man. You see so many Chinese people wearing hijab out here in Nogia. It's really cool.
Assalamu alaikum. You know a mosque? Mosque.
Majid. Sully Mosque. Over here? Okay, thank you. Okay.
Mmm, thank you so much. So the mosque is right there. We're gonna go check it out.
Nujia Mosque. I'm kind of sad we got here a little late but it's okay. I didn't know the metro was gonna actually take this long and we're gonna go see the mosque now though. So here we are Majid Nujia.
You can see it written in Arabic as well and this is like the biggest mosque in Beijing so a lot of Muslims always come pray here. This is awesome. Like, I'm telling you, there's so many Muslims here. You wouldn't expect it in Beijing, but there are a lot of halal restaurants as well.
And it's just a nice area to come explore. Assalamu alaikum. Wa alaikum assalam. What's your name?
My name is Jerry. Jerry? From Beijing?
Nice to meet you. Is he your mom? Yeah, yeah. Hello. This is my mother.
Nice to meet you. How long you live in Beijing? About four years. years.
Oh you like it? Yeah. A lot of Muslims here. Yeah. This is like a Muslim area of Beijing.
Do you have good restaurant recommendation? I don't know what you say. My English is...
No, your English is good. Good halal food here. Halal food.
Halal food. Go straight. Go straight. About... 200 meters.
Good restaurants? Yeah. Okay.
Alright. Nice to meet you. About 200 meters.
This is my bro Jerry. What's your Chinese name? I say right?
What's your name? Yes. A lot of Muslims.
It's amazing. How are you doing? Thank you. Here we go.
Let's go see the Niu Jia Mosque. It's like a really big facility. It's really nice.
I think it's the biggest mosque in all of Beijing. So this is a very interesting courtyard right here. This is the main prayer hall and here we got some pavilions has some Quran on it says lay that Allah Muhammad Rasulullah and this is what's super interesting this is a Chinese minaret so this is where the Dan is the call to prayer never seen seen a Chinese minaret in my life before and there's signs right here that explain a little more about it.
Chinese minaret. There's also like a garden and there's also a woman's prayer area so I believe that's the woman's prayer area right there. It's nice to explore. So on the side of the measured here the prayer times they have them in autumn They have them in Chinese.
Alright, let's go see the inside of the masjid Asalaamu Alaikum Wow, this is amazing mashallah So this is the inside of a Chinese mosque and I believe this is the biggest one in Beijing and for Jummah usually goes all the way back here super filled up i missed jama'a by a little so couldn't see it sadly but inshallah i'll be able to later and it's just amazing magic look at how detailed all the the painting the architecture Chinese mosques it's honestly way different than any other type of mosques I've seen in my life Quran written all over here And here is the front of the masjid. The one thing also is the flooring of Chinese mosques is very different. So you see they have carpet and then every other row carpet and in between they have this straw type material. So all the Chinese mosques are kind of like this.
So very different from the rest of the world I've been seeing. But it's beautiful. It's beautiful being able to travel around to every country and see all these different masjids. So Chinese masjids and meeting Chinese Muslims. I wish I could communicate with them more.
It's just a huge language gap. And my friend that speaks Chinese who's Muslim is out of town for today. So sadly, I'm going to have to try to do my best to walk around, talk to people.
Peace be upon you. Peace be upon you too. So here's a map of the whole mosque.
So here is the worshipping hall. This is where we walked in for wudu, prayer, minaret area. And this is a whole female section. It's like female hall. They have female wudu area.
They have classroom, meeting hall, secondary halls. It's nice seeing all of this here. They have a dining room too.
This is huge facility. Peace be upon you. What's your name? I'm Mark. So I met this amazing man and he speaks Arabic.
So no English but Arabic and Chinese Muslim. Alhamdulillah. Where are you from in China?
From Hebei. How is Beijing? Beautiful.
Beautiful. This is a big city. Yeah, so nice. It's my first time meeting a Chinese Muslim who speaks Arabic. So he said he doesn't speak English but he speaks a little Arabic.
