is the evideesque max the ultimate productivity standing desk to me having a productive workspace means having a setup that's inviting well thought out and most of all reduces the friction of getting things done so today I'm going to discuss whether or not this standing desk setup achieves this in order to help you decide whether or not it's the right desk for you so there's a bit of background this is my first ever standing desk previously I had a fixed desk from Ikea I was initially a bit skeptical about whether or not I actually needed a standing desk and whether or not it would make a difference in terms of ergonomics and how I felt throughout the day but to be honest I think it's actually going to be hard for me to ever go back to a regular fixed desk after using a standing desk I've genuinely been enjoying the ability to stand while I'm working plus the overall look and feel of my office has just been upgraded so in order to review the everdesk max I'm going to go through first of all the desk itself then we'll talk a bit about the different accessories that you can get from everdesk then we'll talk about the positives the things I like most about this desk and then some of the negatives things that you probably should be aware of if you're thinking of purchasing and then I'll finish by just sharing my overall thoughts and experience using this desk for the past month or two so getting straight into the desk itself it took me about an hour to set up it was pretty straightforward the instructions were nice and clear and it was overall really well packaged so I was really happy with that and then once it was out of the box and set up I was actually really impressed with how it looks I got the large size in the age dark and walnut color and I believe it's a real Walnut veneer on the desk itself so it feels great and I think it looks great I really like the dark color and I think it suits my office really well I also got the black legs because I feel like that fits in with my office you can also get white legs if you want and when you add the evidence accessories it really makes it look complete especially with the shelf that you can get in the matching color that you choose they're probably the most unique thing about this standing desk itself is what they call the uni Groove at the back of the desk and it's basically a slot where you can feed cables through to underneath your desk and I actually really like it I like the fact that that it's the whole length pretty much of the desk so you can put cables down anywhere and keep it really neat you don't have to have all the cables snaking to a central point like a regular grommet but you can put the cables down anywhere you want for example I've got my Nest mini cables going down in the center of the desk and then my monitor cable is going down on the right side the desk also came with these cable Stoppers which are really handy for making sure that your cables don't fall back through the slot now moving on to the controller for the desk displays the current height of the desk and then it also gives you a progress bar for the timer and you can adjust this timer to different lengths in order to remind you to stand or to sit I firstly found that around 30 minutes is kind of pretty good time for me and when the timer is up the control itself will buzz and you can adjust the buzzer to buzz for shorter or longer amounts of time in order to adjust the height of the desk you just turn the ring around the controller and it feels pretty high quality it's made of some sort of metal which is nice and then it's got three different touch preset buttons on the controller which you can set to any height that you'd like and initially I I kind of thought why would I need three different presets because I thought I just need one for standing and one for sitting right but I've actually found that the third preset I use for lifting my desk a little bit higher than my chair so that when I finish up work for the day I can neatly slide my chair under my desk you can also lock the controller if you're worried about accidentally bumping it but I personally haven't had any issues with bumping it accidentally so I left it unlocked and lastly you can set the height limits so you can set an upper limit to the desk and a lower limit I personally also haven't used this just because I haven't felt the need but I'm sure that would come in handy if you do have furniture around your desk and overall I think I just like that it's a relatively understated looking controller so moving on to the legs like I said I've got the Black Version I was actually really impressed that it they take up a really small footprint I thought that would be a lot bigger and wider but compared to my old fixed desk they actually take up a lot less space which I really like the motives themselves are relatively quick I usually just take a bit of a stretch when I'm waiting for the desk to rise to standing level and they're also pretty quiet like I haven't had any issues with noise at all now lastly just talking about the legs this disc does have an anti-collision sensor however I had some interesting results with it and I'll share a bit more about that at the end of the video so moving on to the everdesk accessories now these accessories are really well thought out in my opinion and integrate with the everdesk system really nicely starting with the Shelf like I said you can get it in a matching color to your desk I think it looks really great feels high quality and you can also attach it to the desk so that it doesn't get knocked around using that uni Groove system at the back of the desk now I have to talk about the pegboard because the pegboard is arguably my favorite accessory I built my own charging station with an Ikea pegboard a couple of years ago and so having a pegboard on my desk with a bunch of purpose-built accessories for it is really nice I think it just makes your desk overall feel a bit more cozy and it's a great way to help keep your desk organized and looking neat you can't get the pegboard on its own and add your own accessories or you can get an excess is packed from evidesk which include a whole bunch of really useful accessories like a couple of shelves and hooks to hang things from as well as a little photo frame which I think is nice I also got a monitor arm and it integrates really well with the uni Groove system once again because you can just attach it through the desk if a desk also sell this hover light bath and you really can't go wrong with a good light bar and this one doesn't disappoint now lastly you can't talk about a good disc setup without good cable management and I think especially with a standing desk where you're literally lifting the desk up so you can see everything underneath it a lot more clearly you want to make sure you've got good cable management and everdesk sells a cable management tray which is on the smaller side but it does the job for what I need it for again it's got pre-drilled screws right at the bottom of the desk so it integrates seamlessly and I've also got a cable spine which you can use to neatly organize your cables coming down from the cable tray which attaches magnetically which is really nice or you can screw it into the desk all right so that's kind of all the features talked about now let's talk a bit about positives and the things I really like about this desk so first of all one of the things I noticed was it's really stable both when it's at sitting height and when it's at standing height I think it's actually a pretty stable desk I would argue that it's even more stable than my four-legged fixed desk like I said overall I think this desk looks really good the wooden finish is really nice plus the accessories really just complete the look and it's really upgraded the overall feel of my office the controller itself I really like it's really easy to use and I appreciate the fact that you just have to touch it once you don't have to double press or anything like that in order to change Heights and lastly I think the best thing about the everdesk max is just the entire system like all the accessories everything just fit together really well it feels really seamless both while you're setting up and then when you've got it set up it all looks like it works together really cohesively so if you're kind of looking for an overall desk package with accessories and cable management I think the everdesk overall is a really good option in that regard now let's talk a bit about the negative is and some of the things I didn't like so much about the everdesk max now one negative specific to the everdesk was just the fact that I noticed when I first tried to clamp the monitor arm to the back of the desk rather than through the uni Groove because my monitor is on the heavy side it seemed to put a bit of pressure on the back part of the desk I think that's just due to the uni Groove making that back section just a bit weaker and putting the monitor um in the Indie group system solved that problem was fine but I think if you do have an extra heavy monitor it might be a bit of an issue my monitor is about seven kilos I think so if you've got a monitor that's lighter than that you shouldn't have any problems and lastly I mentioned earlier that anti-collision sensor I tested it out to see if it would detect this chair so I put the chair under the desk but unfortunately the desk never detected the chair and actually lifted up the entire desk so I definitely think the anti Collision sensor needs to be more sensitive I found that if it's more of a sudden bump to the desk for example if I kind of bump on the top of the desk when it's lifting then the and seclusion sensor will kick in but that's definitely something to be aware of just make sure you don't have any furniture underneath your desk or above your desk just in case that sensor doesn't kick in so lastly my overall thoughts and experience using this desk to be honest I have really loved using the everdesk max like I said everything just works together really well I think it's good value and it has really leveled up my home office workspace and therefore I do think this desk will make you more productive because it'll make you want to work in your office more regularly just because it's such a nice setup now I'm not being paid by evidence to make this review but I do have affiliate links in the description if you're interested in buying and if
