yes flat design it's coming to an end I am so excited I'm GNA tell you why so first what is flat design and when did it begin well prior to flat design from the early 2000s and really probably starting around 20072 2008 we had what we called the Web 2.0 era and that was kind of the the first industry Vibe for how we design UI and it was character Iz as you can see here by a lot of gradients a lot of drop shadows and we had glows and things like that and then in 2014 Google released uh material design which is kind of a library a design Aesthetics Library like a style guide essentially and that was a push back against Web 2.0 or skew morphism trying to make things look interesting with depth and 3D and stuff like that and that's what we've had really since 14 up until today we've had a real strong emphasis on simplistic clean design uh flat not a lot of use of gradients Shadows and stuff like that but now we're starting to see a reemergence of those things and now I emphasize starting to we're just at the be very beginning of this transitional shift from flat design into something new and into something new I would probably call it skew morphism 2.0 or something like that uh because of course when we enter into a new realm of design it's never the same as it was before but we may take bits and parts and pieces from that and we are starting to see Now Designs integrate and not be worried about having everything not be flat essentially uh we're seeing the use of gradients we're seeing the use of glows and blurs and we're seeing the use of drop Shadows just take a look at some of this work from Brett from design joy for instance this is really cool awesome eye candy stuff and even my own work which I'm starting to work with r now like this project I can't tell you how exciting and fun it is to create a project like this by the way I'm going to release a course on this later this month so keep that in your mind uh but it is just so exciting when you have everything at your disposal all the Aesthetics right and that's one of the things that's going to be difficult for a lot of you designers who had your start at after 2014 which is probably going to be most of you because it's been a long time and that is because you've probably been trained on flat design you're really not sure how to integrate things like gradients properly blurs Shadows glows all those cool effects and that's understandable because you can easily overdo it and I'm not saying amazon.com is going to start integrating all this stuff I'm saying for things like creative projects and landing pages we're starting to see this type of these type of UI Aesthetics kind of infiltrate the flat design space and that to me is exciting because obviously there are many companies out there with many different brands and many different styles and to relegate ourselves simply all of it to flat design I think is very limiting so what's exciting about this time with skew morphism 2.0 is the way that it's different is that we have motion now we have animation to integrate with it as well and of course we had flash but flash was on its way out at the tail end of Web 2.0 so we didn't really have much interaction and motion but now we do with RVE RVE is going to be an industry changing standard with their ability to create these amazing animations but also with the blurs and the shadows and the glows and all this fun stuff that we're starting to see so if you're interested in learning how to integrate this new design Trend I'm going to be covering all this stuff very shortly on these different new not new Aesthetics that you can start to integrate and how to do it in a correct way so make sure to follow me here on YouTube on X as I'm going to be sharing a lot of stuff going forward in the future I will see you all very soon goodbye
