Hey everyone, Hans here. So today I'm going to be doing a live
build or a live recording of me building a clay table using AI and just going through
all of the basic steps that I'm going through when building a clay table. I figured that some of you might find it
helpful or if you're still in the fence on whether or not you should be using clay,
this will give you an idea of what the workflow looks like and then you can
figure out if this is something that you know. you want to be using for yourself. I'll show you the exact email that we're
going to be building, that we're going to be writing, and the different steps that
we're going through. Let's dive in. So here we are in Clay. Let me first show you the email. So this is the email that we're going to
be building for. So, hey, first name, as you're helping
people and then a quick summary of what that company does, I figured you were
connecting with customer types with campaigns like this, then some campaigns,
campaign ideas of what type of campaigns they might be running just to show them
that we, we. Understand them and we know what goes on
in their day to day. So how you put in channel success metrics,
you can advise the team on what's working and what's not. Our revenue marketing platform does this
and that. Say you have three marketing channels and
you want to double down on the one giving the best ROI. We can help you with that. We should be interested in a quick demo. A couple of things that we want to do
before we get started is we want to make sure that these people within their
company, they have a marketing operations person that is just a requirement for this
client. And then, you know, we want to make sure
that for later follow ups, we get that person's name, et cetera, et So this is the one we want to use, find
employee headcount by job title. It's popular for a reason. Then a job title, which is going to go
with marketing operations or marketing ops, just to be sure. Then not really doing any excludes,
anything like that. It's a really basic search that we're
doing here. So we're going to run it on the company
LinkedIn URLs, the company identifier, then continue to add fields. And we just need the count. So we want to see if that comes above zero
or not, other than that we don't really need any fields. I'm just going to show you what that looks
like on the first 10 rows. And then if that looks good, which I know
we know it will, then we're going to run it on the rest. Then as this is running, then after that
we want to validate all the emails. We want to make sure that we're only
obviously sending to save to send emails. But what we want to do, and I'm just going
to use AI here. So only run if and then let's see. Well, let me scroll down. Marketing Ops count is higher than zero. There we go. And I want to generate that formula. So we only want to actually validate the
emails that we got from Apollo if these companies actually have a marketing
operations person within their company. We do that just simply to save credits. Otherwise, you're gonna validate all these
emails that you're not going to use anyway So we could have used the polo for that
but LinkedIn is obviously more accurate because it's real time. So just do it this way then that looks
fine and We just want to get the email and there we go So they will start validating the email. Then what we want to do for every column
where we contacted that we have no valid email for. So Apollo gave us an email or they did not
give us an email. If they gave us an email and it was not
valid, then we want to try and find it with a different provider, see if we can
get a valid email. If they did not give us an email, we
obviously want to find the Then we want to use Prospeo, find work
email and then we'll full name. Excuse me. We want to use the full name right here. And then this all looks good. Then we don't want catch alls. And then we want to use AI to say only run
if slash marketing Opscom is higher than zero. And if, and then let's see if we don't
have an email, so that email is empty. So only run if they have a marketing
operations person on their team. We already knew that. And then we want to make sure that if we
have a valid email, we don't double check to find another email. And then we want to save and run that
thing. It's finding emails for us. And then what we'll do, we'll combine
those. So we'll merge those into, let's say, a
master email column. So we'll have one column with all the
valid emails in there. then again, there's merge columns, there
are different ways of doing it. I'm just showing you do it this way
because I find easy to use, let's say, natural language with play as well. And I think a lot of people will find this
the easiest way. That's the assumption. So let me know if that's true or place email. See you later. cell is not empty, hard display and then
we go here to the email if that cell is not empty. And then we start looking here at the
sample outputs. So, there we go. So here, so these are the ones that we
currently have in the sheet. As you can see, it's just making sure that
we have one column that has something regardless. So here, this one is empty. So it's taken it from this and then we
have it right there. So that is that. And then we will rename that our... Post -Email column. There we go. So that is that. So now we have as many emails as we could
possibly get. So that's that. Now we have the emails from these people. We know they have marketing operations on
the team. We can actually get into the fun part,
which is the AI part. So we want to get a quick summary of what
the company does. Now, so don't be alarmed by all the... the weird code in here, you don't have to
use that. That's something that I built in the past
in Google Sheets, but now we have Clay and Clay is just a lot easier to use than
Google Sheets. we'll be using this prompt. It's back in the day I wrote this, and we
can... Optimize is quite a bit. But for now, you know, we'll use this and
it'll do I'll make a couple of small tweaks to it actually. So Before doing let's add enrichment then
we do AI use AI and then this will be the prompt and then based on this company
description And I want this to be at the end. It's just cleaner for I believe so based
on this company description who will be their main type of customer described in
the most three words, for example There we go. That's that. Here's the description. So that's that. And then actually let's save and do not
run because I forgot to do one thing. So we have the SEO description, but we
have that from Apollo. That's usually really short. So they literally just grab the SEO
description, which is often the meta description. And I don't find that to be good enough to
generate accurate AI output or output that I'm comfortable with sending. So we're actually going to add enrichment. Then we're going to look for LinkedIn
again. And then we have... Enrich company on LinkedIn, then we're
going to enrich the company URL and want to make sure again that we only run that,
only run if, and then we find the column because I forgot already what I named the
column. Marketing Ops count is higher than zero. There we go. Then we want to get the description. There we go. Save and run 100 rows. So we have the description there. then we're going to update this. So then here's the description. then I'm not going to give it examples
just because I want to try and keep the video a little bit. So I want to see what it comes up with on
its own without the samples. And then I only want to show only run if. Well, the thing we don't have to add the
whole head count thing again, because we already used that before enriching
complete. So we know we only have a description. And. if the company actually qualifies. So only run if, and then we're going to go
with description has more than 100 characters, for example. And this is just a random number I'm using
just to make sure that the really short stuff, we cannot really use that. There we go. And let's see what it comes up with. without me giving examples. Usually it is great because it's a really
straightforward task. You give it the input and just it's really
a really simple task. So we can actually run that. we're just gonna do the exact same thing
But now we want a quick AI summary of what they do Then I have that here under value
prop So these are prompts that I use. So I'm not going to use this one, but the
prompt that I'm going to use, I'm not going to go too deep into that, but these
are prompts that I use that worked really well in the past, even without examples. So one short sentence about the customers
of this company needed the most for, complete this sentence with the answer
starting to output would help them. So customers need us to help them deliver
better marketing reporting. things, solutions, something like that. So that's the problem that I was using
there in the past. And let me see. So we're going to go with an enrichment AI
and we want to get a summary of what the company does. Then actually let's use this problem just
to see what the output looks like, just to show you. So again, I want to have this in the end. So once we're sending the customer the
company that the most for, complete the sentence with the answer is two. And then here's the description. Let's see, company description. And then we're going to go with the
LinkedIn one. There you go. Then again, not going to give examples
because I know we can perform pretty well without examples. And then under settings, we want to make
sure that we only run if. description let's go with the same one so
if description has more than one There we go. Generate that formula. then save the room. Let me just generate the campaign ideas
and then we're done already. And then the campaign ideas prompt I'm
actually not going to show. It just takes the company description. It says based on this company description,
complete this sentence and cope with marketing ideas. So I figured you were implementing
marketing strategy, like informative webinars about, et cetera, et cetera. So if you really want the prompt, let me
know and I can, I'll put something together actually the fix for this is a lot easier. So basically I adjusted the prompt really
quick. So one short sentence, what the customers
of this company need them the most for, complete this sentence with the answer,
customers need us to help them. And then the company description. So customer need us to help them generate
accurate and customizable solar designs for their properties, secure and manage
that digital identities, et cetera. So then if we adjust this a little bit,
and here's the full email, we'll dive into that in a second. So as you're helping people, so we
changed, basically we just changed targeting to helping, and we made a couple
of really small adjustments. So this is the full email. that regenerated, let me see, so, hey
John, as you're helping people manage their cloud infrastructure using managed
open source data technologies, I figured you were implementing marketing strategies
like informative webinars about managed open source data technologies to engage
potential customers. How are you helping channel, how are you
pulling channel success metrics? You can advise the team what's working and
what's not, then go to the pitch. So that is one example of what it would
look like. So the next, so as you're, let's see, as
you're helping people generate accurate and customizable solar designs for their
properties, I figured you were implementing marketing strategies like
running LinkedIn campaigns, targeting companies in the renewable energy sector. How will you put in channel success
metrics so you can advise the team what's working and what's not? So you get the idea. That's a campaign that you can put
together really quick. where you make it feel re -personalized,
which technically it is. So we can do the 450 people for 500 or for
5 ,000 and it will take the same amount of effort. It's just, you say that once and then you
can add more people to the table. You can keep running that. So, That was a live build of a clay table. Hope you found that helpful. Hope you learned something. Let me know if you did. If you want more live builds or build outs
of these full campaigns like this, let me know so that I know which directions that
these video is in. For now, thanks for watching. Have a good one and hopefully see you in
the next one. Bye bye.
