you have any idea why I might have stopped you uh was speeding yeah do you know what the speed limit on this road is uh 75 I thought 75 how old are you you're born in ' 05 that makes sense so you're under arrest for criminal speed you're at 99 mph the Post-it speed limit's 50 oh it's 50 yeah so you're 49 M hour over the speed limit all right okay so we're going to figure out if you're going to go to jail right now but you are not free to go okay okay do you understand how do you understand the seriousness of that yeah okay so before I read I say anything else you have the right to remain silent anything you say can will be used against you in the court of law you have the right to the presence of an attorney to assist you prior to questioning and to be with you during questioning if you so desire and if you cannot afford an attorney you have the right to have an attorney appointed for you prior to questioning do you understand all that okay see your registration paperwork current proof Insurance time 16 the de no that's from 20 23 so I was actually on my way to another call but your driving was so dangerous and so egregious that I stopped myself from going to the other call so I could stop you and arrest you for criminal speed because you also entered a 45 mph Zone which is where we're at now at like 85 mph so you passed a giant sign that's white with black numbers as big as your windshield that said 45 and you totally disregarded that too so why you driving almost 100 mph I was just trying to get back to my Camp to your what to campus I could to C I was just trying to so we're on our way to a priority call we're going to back up a couple other deputies um they got there I wasn't needed I realized that this car in front of me is just it's I'm heading somewhere with a purpose and he continues to pull away from me so I end up locking his speed at 99 mil an hour um speed Lim in the area where we were was 50 it's a two-lane road it's not real flat so there's some dips in it it's not a highway um so I took myself off of that call put myself on this call and then stopped him and arrested him for criminal speed so you're being cited with exceeding 85 mph on any roadway in the state of Arizona also known as criminal speed so it's a Criminal Traffic offense so you are arrested like I said you're under arrest you're not free to go you're doing 99 mph I gave you the benefit of doing it in the 50 even though when you crush that 45 mph Zone you still up in there well in the criminal realm any questions as to how and or why anything happened today all right you use this as a catalyst to slow down and not drive so crazy I appreciate that drive safe sir this generation [Music] [Music] see your driver's license please all right well I'm Deputy slope I work for civil traffic for Speed you're still 23 over that's what's on my radar valves de Bianco is the intersection there where I turned around on you so the court is C Grand just give the court a call sometime later on this week give them a call say Hey how do I take care of this they'll give you some information give me a better deal a better a better I don't want to I don't want to amm miss my life you know what I mean I'm a truck driver I know I know I saw that um well the good thing is I didn't charge you criminally yeah that's a pretty good deal but that's as good a deal as you're going to get you have to talk to the court about it all right all right thanks I appreciate it so we're here on Valvista again speed limits 50 m hour um this guy is 73 so 23 over you know just kind of in on the fren of the criminal Zone um it just you know if someone's 15 mph on this road with it being as open as it is yeah I'm probably going to let those people go uh but when you start getting above 20 M an hour like I at some point you got to at least try to stick close to the speed limit so um we've been using 20 as our as our threshold today for this road um cuz it's pretty remote there's no intersections very very few uh like driveways that that hit this road directly especially in this area so that's what we're doing we're looking for 20s you know more than 20 M hour over the speed limit and so far we've had two in 15 minutes so um people are definitely speeding here I think they forgot that they're in the jurisdiction of the panell County Sheriff's Office so we're trying to remind them today one stop at a time [Music] n it's hard here what I get at 74 74 how you doing see your driver's license please right now do you have like your actual license my wallet is all right so see registration current proof insurance so I'm Deputy sler for the Sheriff's Office reason I stopped you is you are 24 4 mph above the posted speed limit yeah it looks like it I would say that's a good one might be two for two sure looks like you are so you're doing a criminal amount of speed but you've never been stopped by the sheriff's office before so you are doing 74 and a 50 so you're 24 over that meets the threshold for criminal speed it doesn't mean I have to write you a ticket for it and I didn't um so we kept this just regular regular speeding so civil here civil there means it's not a criminal arrest you don't have to worry about anything like that um not having a driver's license in your possession it makes my job harder then you have to have it and if you're incapacitated and I can't get into your phone I don't know who you are so driver's license is super important for us especially out here in rural areas um within the this right here is your registration your copy of the citation the jurisdiction here is the the CLE Grand Justice Court directly under that's a phone number during normal business hours um anytime after today give them a call say hey I got being ticket how do I take care of it with you the court staff there will give you some information they'll give you information on driving school it's a good option and I'm sure you're eligible um so you could do that you could pay the fine you can appear in court and say hey man it wasn't me those are pretty much your three options and they'll give you any additional information that you might need on top of that I'm going to give that to you there as I stand here at your window any questions I can answer for you right now appreciate you being cool and wearing your seat belt man slow down you
