afternoon everyone hello summer senior high school students I hope you're fine and join us as we explore the world of creativity in writing this afternoon circuit Yes actually creative writing is one of my most favorite subjects I've been teaching it for quite some time now and I really love like utilizing all the things I learned about creative writing and to kind of like boost my creativity and write my own stories poems and hopefully I think my Learners today will be pumped up and their creativity boosted as they watch our show so uh what do we expect for uh this week sir Jerry for this week will be about imagery fiction figures of speech and specific experiences to evoke meaningful responses from the readers yes sir this is actually very important no I think uh on the get-go this is such a great topic to start the semester with we need to know like imagery addiction uh figures of speech and all of these basic things para if they started writing their own creative work they will have like a a good foundation uh yes sir tutor Jerry um yes how about just her kid and uh of course we're live via Facebook yes sir and these platforms are really meant to help our students high school and especially sdo after like Province we have like 80 students today uh listening and watching uh teacher teacher Jerry that's it it's an exciting afternoon sir okay so uh right so we got here Learners uh after this uh module the discussion you're expected of course to circuit to use imagery addiction figures of speech and specifics your experiences to evoke meaningful responses uh from readers so basically uh these elements of uh creative writing will evoke some feelings some emotions from your readers and what about the next one sir uh tutor Jerry aside from that of course they should be able to analyze the image three addiction figures of speech and specific experiences of the specific literary business may be used on sentences or yes sure Jerry uh and I'm excited are you excited sir Jerry of course we are all excited sir yes and I'm sure that our Learners as well are excited so uh we would like Angelica Aden Guerrero and and so so much more there are lots of students right now who are watching us hello and hopefully we could enjoy interactively and you should be able to participate with us this afternoon okay sir so let's begin yes so the first activity is that uh you have here the uh the given Direction the students shall be using their senses and describe the sins with as much detail as possible students you may drop your answers on the comment section or yes you can also write it and your answer sheets that's true we will actually be reading your some of your answers right now so be prepared sir okay okay so let's do this sir Jerry are you guys ready I think they're ready sir k first question all right uh what do you see around you at this very moment so guys the first question right now oops sorry sir Jerry we're overlapping as shown her kid what they see are very moment okay so guys describe it to us right now type down your answers in the comment box okay let's see right now I'm seeing my my laptop and I'm seeing the rest of my house what about you sir Jerry what are you seeing right now oh I think I'm losing sir Jerry all right okay do we have answers yeah okay and one maybe uh they could see okay all right sir Jerry can you hear me oh okay yes sir definitely I could hear you okay good sir uh according to share lawn Rosanne she said she is seeing walls yes yeah yeah he he said that it is raining outside what about the other sir Jerry see you sir yes okay sir uh all right sir yes are seeing Foods maybe they are in front of uh the the dining table okay and from uh he's seeing a lamp okay a lamp so basically these students are using very well there uh visual senses yes okay so let's have the second one sir yes go ahead sir Jerry what was the first sound you heard upon waking up today I hope you could uh users of the roosters outside your window is it like the cows the the cars what is it we want to know top down your answers in the comments section the sound so according to surgeon again is hearing the loud thunder maybe it's raining in there okay sir hello all right yeah yeah and then according also to to Aubry miles but the first thing that he heard upon this morning is the yell of his mother maybe he walked up uh later because he was playing okay you have they have exciting answers borking yeah she they they do they do they really they really have uh exciting answers so let's jump to the third one all right all right for the third question guys what smell for the numbers you off the beach so remember we haven't been on the beach for a very long time but what do you remember what smells associate you to the beach all right okay you can drop your answers in the comment section as fast as possible yes please oh for for me uh sir Jerry one uh smell they are having a hard time in answering sir yeah that's okay yeah the smell of the ocean the grilled fish according to Mr ago okay what else dear students the smell of the foods like uh like the barbecue according to Kelvin jalano so good all right sir can we move on to the fourth one yes please repeat would you mind to read yes please yes okay so number four is what does a lasagna taste like all right so have if you have eaten a lasagna before what is the taste of a lasagna if you want to tell someone what a lasagna tastes like what would you say all right type down your answers on the comments section please go I believe this could be answered really by those who are found in eating in uh at the Greenwich food chain yes sure you know what I love a lasagna too so all right okay so according to Max Max see it's cheesy sir it's cheesy cheesy that's a very good answer oh it's a sweet according to uh surgeon lubo tomato sauce and Rod said it tastes like heaven they're pretty right okay sir Jerry now why do we ask our students to kind of like uh tell us what they see what they smell what they taste and so like they actually had already eaten thank you yes that's correct okay yeah yes sir right so what do you need to know uh dear students yeah yeah sir okay so the the thing is we want to ask these questions because it's directly connected to our first topic uh we've been need to master when they want to write creatively it's all about imagery and imagery refers to the mental pictures that readers experience when Reading literature uh you know that experience guys when you're like reading and you can feel like there's a movie playing in your head that's what we call mental mental pictures and incl it includes your five senses so sir Jerry what are these five senses anyways hmm okay sir so basically the five senses are the following first is the auditory which describes what we hear of course the noise the the silence around the music and everything that the the ear uh hears okay while the other one is tactile this thing is what we feel or thoughts just like the texture temperature of something it's is it hot or cold Etc okay and then we also have the olfactory which has something to do with what this man well the friend fragrances the oh yeah otters and then we have the visual right sir Jerry the visual is uh it's basically especially when everything that we when you visit the market and then you wanted to buy something just it's like fish or whatever and then you would like it yes sir Jerry we also have her now the this one yeah the visual yes which actually I think okay so when you when you say visual it basically uh is everything that you see what your eyes are perceive and honestly guys visual is most of the time one of the the mostly used sense in imagery if you can build like an environment or a picture with uh with like good visuals with good words then you can actually make our readers feel like they're in the same place that you are and what is what is the the next one sir Jerry oh I think you're on mute sir Jerry wow all right I think you're on mute sir Jerry all right you know guys the tech these days are kind of hard but hey it will be fine all right sir Jerry so I think you're on mute okay so the last one is the gustatory or basically uh taste the sense of taste uh it could be like anything that that has like taste could be sour sweet salty and all these kinds of things it could also be like more Exquisite tests uh like uh like succulent or crunchy or uh or like juicy those are actually tastes too that people are familiar with and when they when they uh then when they uh hear hear it they know exactly what it tastes like kind of like that all right sir Jerry is still on mute okay so let's all right so kind of just remember these guys all right so we have the auditory the tactile the olfactory Visual and the gustatory okay all right all right sir Jerry oh okay all right so sir Jerry I think your microphone is like I don't know okay all right learners how are you guys doing so far wow we have a hundred and eleven uh viewers right now and and we appreciate you guys thank you for watching us uh sir jira and I are are happy that you guys are here with us okay if you have any questions feel free to type down your questions in the comments section okay and we'll try to to answer your questions as much as we can okay all right yes sir Jerry maybe while we're uh okay can you try to speak sir Jerry all right now this one is a little bit of an exercise so for example here's a sentence the tree bark was rough against her skin now the word rough here is actually a clue that tells us that this is about the sense of what what do you think rough the sense of yes the sense of touch or so this is tactile tactile okay tactile very good next all right that's tactile all right guys okay yeah so uh Aliyah you're correct that is correct tactile is correct very good we say Hi also to Alona Eileen dulawan thank you for watching uh for Donna May siatris thank you for watching as well uh chiriano thank you for watching and uh Zyra Rex De La Cruz Cristobal as well thank you for for watching okay uh sir Jerry um okay all right okay sir Jerry can you uh I want to call this can you can you put on the next slide please okay all right so maybe sir Jerry and I will be uh like we'll be swapping controls of our PowerPoints that I could I control the PowerPoint all right that's tactile oh now the next example all right guys what do you think here the sentence is the siren turned into a whisper as it ended what do you think it's a tactile olfactory auditory visual or uh gustatory what do you guys think all right okay if your answer is auditory okay then you are correct good job Luis Dale dumelo Soriano and Eddie Zen B buguina and jamae Larry anchetta as well and Nestle in as well it gets her because it's so good okay yes the sense of hearing uh Angelica medicano said good job okay all right now let's go to our next uh example let's go to our next example all right now by the way guys uh these uh like senses are great if you want to write your own stories as well you you kind of need to pay attention because this is how you're right you're right for the senses the next is glittering white the blanket of snow covered everything in sight what do you think what is the imagery used here okay all right all right wait guys foreign let me share screen okay so all right guys we'll Breeze through this okay so we can uh keep going all right okay very good guys correct that was visual all right the glaring white is actually such a good uh like like tip uh like clue right for a blanket of snow that is visual very good good job Joy Lynn Cherry Anne Josephine SEC and Mark Kevin nice good job visual next this one the country air tasted sweet and familiar what do you think all right tasted sweet and familiar all right well if you guys answered gustatory then you are correct good job good job guys okay gustatory all right okay now this one this one she walked into the abandoned house and caught the scent of mothballs she walked into the abandoned house and caught the scent of mothballs what do you think all right okay can you guys still see my screen let's see yes all right okay let me share screens with you guys again all right cheers queens and then there you go okay now if you answered olfactory well you are correct too good job guys good job so yes Bianca Janella Pascual said olfactory the call Settle Factory Angelica Emil Lennon and jyn Melby John Earl Ramos Factory you guys are so good thank you so much for for for joining and answering with us now I'll give you guys about like maybe 30 seconds to do this just three uh items okay so on your answer sheets or in the comments section write down one two three then answer which sense did we use in the following sentences okay I'll be waiting for your answers guys in the comment section okay all right waiting waiting okay so number one it was dark and dim in the forest number two he with the aroma of brewed coffee such a good aroma by the way the juicy orange is very cold and sweet all right can you guys uh write down your answers in the comments section yes SEC El dukal said number one is visual that's correct good job okay Angelica medicano in Diego said the first is visual then the second is olfactory and third is the gustatory very good wow correct to cherlon globin Edison and Louise okay all right sir Jerry are are you are you there are are you back now okay are you back back again okay wow chesca so good SEC joylyn Kim very good Mark Nino very good as well all right okay okay guys so let's that circuit answer Jerry are having technical problems right now so that's why I think the way to um actually have this online tutorial right now so this is children Nova today subbing for them while we are waiting for them so let me try to read some of your comments right here because earlier I think you were very interactive during the lesson of surgery and of course tutor kit as well so we got here different students from different schools we have Angela Fe magunda all the way from Jade alibabad National High School and okay and also she wanted to greet Catherine C gabihan School principal and Glenda PIRA as well hi good afternoon all the way from alibabad National High School and we also got there a lot of students tuning in we have Dixie Brits lanyu we have Aldrin yasto and we also got here Alexa gallierrez good afternoon everyone all right so okay how about now is my camera okay all right okay good afternoon okay so hope I I hope I got the PPT of Sir kit and um sir Jerry but then um yeah I think that um I was still on the way to download it but there was some technical problems as well on my end well anyway let's try to continue the greetings um all the way from our comment section of course we got here luam Vito gamoj and we also got here Mary Chris kaluatit we have renzi Rosales Martinez we have Alexa galiades we have Lorenzo la de Domingo and we also got here um our new students coming in the class of Athea Talon okay uh sir match could we also try to um do a quick commercial break because I think there is a brown out let me try to secure their PPT first and then I'll go back to the live here we go I don't know if you can hear me now hi everyone can you hear me Mom Floyd are you here all right so I'm not really sure if you can hear me now is my mind is my mic okay now can you hear me yes perfectly can you hear me shoot her now all right I can hear you too tutor Floyd we are back on the live and of course I guess uh there was just a slight technical problem on Sir Jerry's answer Kit's end right now there is a brown out in sir kids place and asked the surgery there was you know a technical problem on his end but that's all right because we are here to back you up and that's how amazing the Italy level up is Right tutor Floyd totally totally tutor Nova in fact I was surprised but still we're here and we're here for our friends the senior high school English team go go go that's right so earlier man Floyd before the cut off we were actually discussing about the review on the senses this is the slide where insert kit and surgery stopped so earlier a circuit gave our students he gave our students actually 30 seconds to try to to think about the answer with these three questions and I I think that commercial break helped our students process what will be the possible answer to these questions right tutor Floyd great great that'd be great so were we able to go over these three items already tutor Nova not yet so that's why we are going to reveal what are the answers to these questions right here okay I think our students are ready let's go here all right all right so the number one tutor Floyd could you do the honor okay so we have dark and dim so definitely this gives us the idea that we're tapping the sense of seeing or sense of sight in this case so visual it's very obvious how about the second one shooter Nova second one is of course we have the word Aroma and the word Aroma actually has this sense of smell something that we know something smells good or smells bad right so that's our homeless sense of smell now let's go number three tutor Floyd okay we have juicy see cold sweet oh juicy ham maybe cold the weather yes and sweet definitely um let's say food again the the recent fruit salad that I made so that's something sweet so perfect okay so I hope you guys will have that that one in the future so sense of taste and or touch okay that's right and I guess our students right here tutor Floyd were able to identify what are the correct senses that these words uh determine right so it's very important as a writer tutor Floyd that they know how to identify the different senses that are present in the writing right tutor Floyd definitely definitely so let's go over to the next slide then okay okay now we have here the word which is addiction the word Addiction or the term itself refers to the choice and use of words and phrases in speech or in writing it could be formal or informal we often hear this word right diction somehow when we listen to speeches right man Floyd and us being the audience we somehow say or have this remark oh I kind of like his diction now diction actually refers to the choice of words not how you enunciate or pronounce a word sometimes Metro confused when they use the term dictionary pronunciation or enunciation word but diction actually refers to choice or how you use the words okay so that's clear when you say diction word choice all right okay and we would not address a stranger in the same way as a good and we would not address a boss in that same way as a child so let's have a quick um role playing here tutor Floyd um this is diction right so let's say I am a stranger to you and um we don't know each other so how are you going to approach me using like applying the diction here could we try could we be an artista today tutor Floyd fine I'll try go ahead and three two one action okay um Excuse Me Miss um can I get that can you get that sugar or can you pass on that sugar for me uh okay sure um here you go thanks thanks thank you all right I know that's how you use diction in talking to a stranger so how about cuter Floyd let's say we are good friends and how are you going to approach me with your friends and let's see about that okay [Music] all right you like sugar huh your sweet tooth yeah all right so could you identify what's the difference between how tutor Floyd approached me as a stranger and how tutor Floyd approached me as a good friend of hers could you try to tell us on the comment section if there was a distinction or not all right let's SEC okay check in the comment section now so far I think they're still typing they are still processing it I guess well anyway while we wait for their interactions or reactions in the comment section let's go to this next slide okay all right since we mentioned earlier that diction could be formal diction or informal diction let's tackle what is a formal diction so formal addiction we have an example sentence here her terrible temper once endear her to many if she refuses to control her outbursts now that is a formal addiction now how do we say it an informal way we can transform it this way if she doesn't stop yelling she'll lose all her friends Iraq right okay sweet and short okay so Tudor Nova we have here a comment already this is from Edison perfect I'm so sorry if I mispronounce your name but you know what I love your first name it's Unique Edison yeah so the Edison here mentions that we distinguish formal from informal diction in terms of the the tone that we use and even the approach so formal definitely formal and then for informal addiction we're having that casual casual use of words so that's good thank you that is another go ahead I can't really see it because I'm only using one monitor could you do that okay no worries I'll take it away so we have here from SEC El dukal thank you so much when talking to a stranger she or he is talking formally and when in her friend she or he is talking casually oh all right all right that is why children Floyd we always hear the saying be careful with your words and that actually applies to your choice of words as well and how you use it so that applies to formal diction or informal diction all right so a choice of words from Doc Morales good now always remember when we use words we we just don't think about the words that we are about to say we're actually responding basing on the context we're at is it a formal one and formal or public one private one and then you also check your audience are they the ones who are good or somehow a set of words all right well just go ahead of Floyd because our time right now checking on the clock is 5 21 and I think uh our dear Learners right here we were able to stop here on the formal deck an informal addiction and I know for sure that they were able to really have a full grasp about the discussion of tutor Jerry and tutor kids discussion today and I think there is more to come for the next week's tutorial and they need to tune in every 4 40 in the afternoon up until 5 20 in the afternoon so you can see tutor Jerry and tutor kit once again on the next Tuesday all right yes yes yes so thank you so much shooter Nova for having me here today and I can't wait to see more of their lessons in creative writing bye everyone bye everyone thank you so much see you next time
