Contoh Penggunaan Conjunction:

  1. Menggabungkan Kata:
    • Rina and Rani are watching TV.
    • (Conjunction: and)
  2. Menggabungkan Frase:
    • The man is not only a famous writer, but also a good human being.
    • (Conjunction: not only... but also)
  3. Menggabungkan Kausa:
    • I watch TV when he called me.
    • (Conjunction: when)

Jenis-Jenis Conjunction dalam Bahasa Inggris

  • Tiga jenis conjunction:
    1. Coordinating Conjunction
    2. Correlative Conjunction
    3. Subordinate Conjunction

1. Coordinating Conjunction

  • Menggabungkan kata, frase, atau klausa yang setara.
  • Contoh:
    • for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
  • Contoh Kalimat:
    • We went to the mall and bought some new clothes.
    • Do you want to drink mango juice or coffee?
    • He wants to buy a new car, but his money is not enough.

2. Correlative Conjunction

  • Digunakan berpasangan.
  • Menunjukkan hubungan atau perbandingan antara dua unsur yang setara.
  • Contoh:
    • not only... but also, either... or, neither... nor, both... and
  • Contoh Kalimat:
    • Neither Yanni nor Noro can play badminton.
    • I want both mango and an apple.
    • He buy not only a new house, but also a new car.

3. Subordinate Conjunction

  • Menggabungkan klausa yang tidak setara.
  • Menunjukkan hubungan bertolak belakang, sebab-akibat, atau hubungan antarklausa.
  • Contoh:
    • because, since, as, although, while
  • Contoh Kalimat:
    • Because of the storm, our flight is delayed.
    • Even though the weather was horrible, they still went outside.
