Chin Waxing Techniques

Overview

• Hair on the chin can be located:
  • On the top
  • On the sides
  • Underneath
• The waxing technique varies based on the hair location and face shape.

General Steps for Waxing the Chin

1. Top of the Chin:
   • Wax the top area first if there is hair.
2. Bottom of the Chin:
   • Follow up with the bottom area.
3. Jawline:
   • Address hair under the jawline starting from the center, then under, and finally the sides.

Key Techniques

• Holding the Skin Taut:
  • Always ensure the skin is held tight to avoid discomfort and ensure a clean pull.
• Patch and Tab Creation:
  • Create a circle patch with the wax.
  • Avoid waxing directly underneath the chin without proper skin hold.
• Applying and Pulling the Wax:
  • Use a spatula to apply wax; hold the skin with the middle finger while pulling upwards.
  • Create a rim around the patch, ensuring even thickness.
  • Press the patch to make sure it adheres well, hold on one side, and pull towards yourself.

Special Considerations

• Hair Growth Direction:
  • Hair usually grows down from under the chin, so pull upwards.
  • If hair grows from the neck upwards, pull against hair growth.
  • Always assess hair growth direction to determine application and pull direction.
