Review of DJI Celia Dongle 2 for Mini 4 Pro and DJ A3

Introduction

Beyond excited to test the enhanced transmission capabilities.
Theory: 4G provides unlimited range and better signal in obstructed areas (trees, obstacles).
Previously restricted to China, now available in more countries (not all, check country availability).

Packaging includes dongle, screwdriver, and an unclear plastic piece.
Installation issues due to vague instructions:
- Damage to DJ A3 drone during installation (bent clip, small screws challenge).
- Additional mount purchase required for Mini 4 Pro.

First Flight Experience:
- Initial setup includes activating a SIM card and enabling 4G in drone settings.
- Need for data plan: approx. 1 GB per flight, recommended 15-20 GB monthly.
- No data included with DJI complimentary transmission connection.
- Real-time issues faced:
  - Signal transitions poorly from ocusync 4 to 4G.
  - 4G signal unstable and often worse than ocusync 4.
  - Significant lag and unreliable connection.
Examples of poor performance noted in multiple test situations including varying altitudes and distances.

**Disappointment with Initial Test: **
- Problems with 4G enhanced transmission reliability.
- Worse performance compared to just using ocusync 4.
**Considerations: **
- Assess the necessity of a data plan worth the monthly cost.
- Simultaneous 4G connectivity for RC2 controller also a hassle.
- Likely unsuitable for areas with poor 4G coverage.
**Final Thoughts: **
- Not recommended currently based on poor performance in tests.
- Potential places with solid 4G might still not justify the extra costs and setup difficulty.
