Walmart is having a special challenge third year final year student then you are eligible for the same is p and you can get a full-time or internship opportunity through this along with that you can get prizes and I got a text from chak who was the winner of last year and he told me that he watched my video last year and so I thought and he can tell you more about the entire process so that you can apply for it this year last of application August and you can like apply for it right away I'll give the link in the description B the S necessary links would be there in the description make sure you do check it out and start video starting with the first very important question what is Walmart spaton to CH you have been a part of it you have uh like you're chag is currently a third year student and he has participated and he has won that competition he's currently doing an internship at Walmart to this particular challenge only we'll talk about that also but what is Walmart spaton uh hello guys I'm chag and let's talk about what actually spaton is so basically spaton is an open innovation challenge for Indian students and uh you can get prizes and you get chances of getting internship as well so that's what uh sparkon is and like how did you come to know last year when you participated and what were your thought process partip why you actually did that okay so last year it was one of our teammate that there's an event called spaton and uh then he's formed a team he contacted me CH hi uh there is a tee called emerging Tech and emerging Tech team may arvr is something that is there and since we had specialization in arvr to he we made a team CH purely arv developers we will discuss that part in detail but okay talking about benefits you get the first price price money and apart from that you get a chance to attend the converse event Jo annually Walmart conduct Bangalore and you get free tickets to attend the converge event you get sponsored flights to the city you also get the chance to stay at the hotel and uh apart from this since converge event you'll get to meet uh Industry Walmart industry standard people in Industry leaders and uh then uh you have speaker events in that convers event J you get to meet Aman Gupta and anur varu that attended the last convers you also get the summer internship and you also get the chance to interview for the full-time role as well generally when you participated last year the process first round submission and like how are different rounds for this particular challenge okay I think last year also the dates were same and 15th July say applications open and you get an entire one month to think about what idea you have to submit uh for us we started during that time only and uh the process was something similar last year also so on 16th August you had to submit your idea your problem and what solution you are going to put in apart from this you also have to create a 2minute video and you have to upload that somewhere on YouTube or somewhere it is publicly accessible and you have to upload that link this is round one and you just have to submit this and uh once you submit this the judging will be done based on some criterias that we'll discuss later and uh based on that judging criteria only eight teams are going to be selected for the finalist uh final round and then there is going to be a grand jury round where you have to pitch the idea then you have to uh present your video whatever video you have created and then there's going to be a Q&A session even for this also there's some uh time timeline given so your pitch has to be 3 minutes 3 minutes Pitch 2 minutes of video uh video presentation and 10 minutes of Q&A session challeng 390 challenge if you complete their course like 90% of the course in 90 days then you get a 90% and this was very successful and you this is applicable on all their this can be the best opportunity where you can get the refund also and at the least cost possible check out the link the EXP now let's move on to the video participating last year number first is very Ting first round and first round short listing process what was it according to you okay so the first round was uh you have to submit your idea you have to submit your problem and what solution you're coming up with and the second thing was you have to uh submit a two-minute video of what your pro what your solution is and you have to upload that somewhere on the YouTube and you have to create a publicly accessible link and you have to submit that in round one so the judging criteria for this round was The Innovation and the creativity of the solution technical feasibility and what impact and benefit would it give to the Walmart and again quality of proof and the concept and the demo in basis judging idea you need to submit in a form ofation uh for round one it was just text problem and solution subm and in video you have to present it entirely proty you need to Dem whatever you made you have to present that in the video last year video right I'll give the link to that last year video also in the description you can go and check that out so that you can understand last year and do you have a better understanding once you are short listed rights okay after this uh after all the submissions only eight teams will be selected and directly grand jury round and grand jury round similar process where you have to pitch you you get three minutes to do the pitch then you get two minutes to again pitch the video and then you have 10 minutes of Q&A session up judges they're going to ask you questions and then you have to uh give answers based on that and finally they decide the winners right uh after this round gets finished after 10 days you'll get a mail that top three teams have been selected you still don't know who first second third is they're going to announce the first second third winners in the converge event and uh yes after that this was done you were announced as the first winner and you got to know intership okay uh in the converge event we got to know that we were first the first team uh and uh for summer internship we got to know after 3 4 months so the results were announced I guess on uh let me check yes so the winners were announced on September 20th but we got to know about a section for sub internship uh around in January next important is students are like confused first time haath experience is a different difficult task right so what should be the thought process while building a team for such a competition okay so uh first of all you have to think about some idea like IDE whatever what you have to present in the hackathon depend like how you're going to plan out the team formation so let's say if you are planning on building a website so then you have to build a team just may text let's say for website you have to implement front end back endic that should be basically idea like they have four themes I guess them the theme and what should be the project idea you were there in the finals right and what was your project if people can get an idea process right so there were four themes one was Data one was supply chain emerging Tech and future of retail Soo that was emerging Tech and other Solutions someone was working on Logistics someone was working on the llm creating a chatbot for the inventory management and uh some were working on the RFID implementing in the logistics part but for us it was an XR solution that we went with solution wmf and if you go to the e-commerce website or if you go to Walmart store and when you purchase them and you bring them home assemble and which is a very tedious task to normal methods which is reading the manual or watching a YouTube video and you start assing the product but with with XR solution we Implement and through this what the user will be able to see let's say if he's wearing some AR glasses or maybe he has a phone QR code scan on the product product box and then he will be led to an XR scene in front of him unassembled product assembly unassembled products 3D and he will be having floating buttons over here which is step one step two and step three and if he clicks on the step one button augmented reality view assembly animations to he can actually assemble the product and with their glasses on they can view the assembly animations on the left virtual animations d2c might be an edge going forward but different types of project IDE discuss but I'll take some of the project ideas I'll maybe give you that sheet uh in the description of this video or in the telegram group you can join that to you can go and check that out to need to Pivot that IDE and then you need to present right that is very very important any like like you got an WM for for for one month for SD intern okay for Walmart one month Sten is 1 lakh rupees apart from this other benefits be here you get 14 days of hotel stay uh and you also get the flight sponsored like coming from your hometown and going back to your hope flights sponsored you got that one lakh per month internship after this particular and team right your entire team got the same yeah my entire entire team got the same got it got it and uh any final piece of advice first round is very very important right first round maximum shortlisting to any final piece of advice for people who are applying for this un if you want to say uh see apply like you should definitely go and try this these hack out there and who knows for the final jury round same happened with us also unsure we should participate or not but still we the Grand JY round and we got the first priz so starting IDE but you start when you start working on it definitely when you are uh you get a more clarity and you can come up with a better solution final piece of advice and then you're working on it in our uh idea and we just fixated to that and Implement and we just solve the problem specific to Walmart and bus aspects these all things matter apart from this the uniqueness also matters like let's say WM emplo go and they found something uh to they come points sping it but if you if they Google it and they don't found any similar solution out there or something which is very unique to yes you can get extra points you should think from that lens you should be very very specific right and that's it and you built that entire solution is it something that is coming in public W use a solution you have that idea yeah definitely to know Department Walmart it is only in California and they were actually working on this project so what I believe Jo Walmart organiz then they can get to know about the ideas and they can actually start working on them so definitely
