right just happened freaking walk up freaking walk up we hear argument being transported by ambulance right no he's good well we don't even know if he's getting We don't know what the going on to be honest i mean he bashed himself on like the door himself hey search so did we have a victim no she walked off she walked off her face was super swelled up and that's when like poor guys jumped on him to freaking hold him down and then while they're holding him down that's the two gunshots came off and that's when we walked through and saw him screaming and yelling he was very intoxicated he won't suspect's behavior continued on for another 15 minutes before officers were able to continue his booking process the shots fired heard at the beginning of the body cam footage were later confirmed to be unrelated to this incident an officer spoke with David's wife Holly at the hospital she advised that David got upset because she found his drugs and flushed them down the toilet she said he turned on the shower and began hitting and kicking her the shower was likely to drown out the noise of David battering his wife she also said he choked her which caused her to have trouble breathing she then advised that David continued to hit and kick her david was charged with aggravated battery on a household member and aggravated battery on a peace officer for spitting on an officer he is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law now the interesting thing about patrol is that every day is different and just as you get used to the job and believe that you have it all figured out for the most part you get that one call that changes everything and when police respond to calls like the one we just saw this can happen once in a career or an officer can have 30 years on the job and never encounter a call like this or sometimes depending on their district of assignment officers can have numerous situations like this during their career and in this situation in New Mexico that these officers responded to it was tense and it unfolded fast and do remember we as the viewers are actually getting a look at something that's extremely rare to obtain because for instance in Pennsylvania getting your hands on any body camera footage whether it be Philly police or other departments is next to impossible you would have to submit the request in writing the request must be made within 60 days that the recording was made and it must be delivered by certified mail or hand delivered to agency Open Records and that's just a request and the research that's done here at Midwest Safety to get this type of footage takes time and dedication to find the most captivating and interesting footage to get out there and now that I'm retired guys I don't get to experience these calls firsthand anymore and this was an extremely tough video that we saw so much respect to the hard work that the researchers put in to obtain this footage and last but not least the woman in this video was severely injured and this was a violent and verbally aggressive suspect so much respect to the officers in this video cuz they show so much professionalism in dealing with this call and in my personal
