we are going to be practicing the proofing stage of the come command with Luna today and that means that we're going to be moving into avoidance approach with the e-caller so whenever I go to use the e-caller it will be after I give the command this time so the series of events is going to look like come wait 2 seconds if Luna does not start coming towards me then I will use stem on her working number and she's learned at this point that stem means to do something so she should know in this type of environment since there's nothing really to place on I didn't ask her to down she should come whenever she comes to me she should be in a sit and she should wait to be released we're still adding duration to her sit command so I'm not going to make her wait very long um big pointers I want to give you guys for practicing this on your own just like with everything whenever you start out using the cem command or teaching the chem command I don't want you putting the dogs into a sit and a down and then recalling them to you that is not realistic we're looking for realistic reps while you're practicing and training these training dogs so we're going to let her wander away if I need to toss some food I'll toss some food but I don't want to do that all the time either and a lot of times whenever you're practicing the come command dogs become sticky after a couple of reps and that's where you can start working on something else instead like your down command or a Sit command or the place command so we probably will only get a couple reps in before Luna becomes a little sticky it doesn't want to wander away and that's fine short sessions are just as good you always want to end it on a good note we're going to go ahead and get started her working number is just under 20 on the mini IQ plus and if I need to roll up I'll roll up if I need to roll down I'll roll down I haven't done anything yet sometimes you might accidentally almost trip over your dogs Luna come yes good girl so I did not apply any stem there okay you going to come yes okay Luna come yes good girl I didn't I haven't had to apply stem yet guys okay we are using a 20t Long Leash we started out using a 15t Long Leash you progressively can get longer long leashes this is a good one to drop because it would be pretty easy to step on it if I needed to Luna come yes good girl okay again I have not how to use stem I'm going to try tossing some food Luna come [Music] yes okay I applied stem there for the sit okay I went ahead and dropped the leash maybe we can get a little bit more distance guys [Applause] come yes good girl okay Luna down stems on off yes that was avoidance for the down command okay down on ah yes on I'm helping with the leash a little bit here guys good girl good J yes hey girl yes just adding in some down duration for this session just to work on something else yes just like with the place command or the sit we're just adding a little bit of walking distraction yes y okay good girl Luna
