Today I want to talk to you about the Anáhuac Calendars, show you in the simplest way possible what it is based on and how each one of them is divided, but fundamentally I want to show you the validity that they continue to have to this day, and I want you to know the use that you can give them in your life. These calendars are not simply something old that the indigenous people of Pre-Hispanic Mesoamerica used, they are a legacy that they have left to all of humanity, and in this video I want to show you how and how much the knowledge of these calendars can help you today. Tzolkin is the Mayan calendar, equivalent to the Tonalpohualli Calendar used by the Aztecs. It is made up of 13 numbers and 20 signs, which together form 260 unique combinations. AZTEC (NAHUATL) MAYA CIPACTLI IMOX/IMIX CAIMAN EHECATL IQ/IK WIND CALLI AKABAL HOUSE/NIGHT CUETZPALLIN KAT/KAN LIZARD/SEED/RED COATL KAN/CHICCHAN SNAKE MIQUIZTLI KAME/KIMI DEATH MAZATL KEJ/MANIK DEER TOCHTLI QANIL/LAMAT RABBIT/ SEED ATL TOJ/MULUC WATER/PAYMENT/DEBT ITZCUINTLI TZI/OC DOG OZOMATLI BATZ/CHUWEN MONKEY MALINALLI E/EB GRASS/ROAD ACATL AJ7BEN CAÑA OCELOT IX/HIX JAGUAR CUAUHTLI TZIKIN/MEN AGUILA COZCACUAUHTLI AJMAQ/KIB VULTURE OLIN NOJ/KABA N MOVEMENT TECPATL TIJAX/ETZNAB FLINT QUIAHUITL KAWOQ/KAWAK RAIN / STORM Today it is accepted that this calendar corresponds to the human gestation cycle. The last beginning of the Tzolkin was on December 5, 2023 and will extend for 260 days until August 20, 2024. The Tzolkin and the Tonalpohualli always begin with 1 Imox in Mayan, or 1 Cipactli in Nahuatl. It is divided into 20 trecenas, 1 for each calendar sign, with 1 Cipactli being the first trecena, the second being 1 Ocelot, the third being 1 Mazatl, and so on. The Haab or Xiuhpohualli Sacred Calendar has 365 days. Some say it is a solar calendar, but in fact this calendar has no leap year adjustments, and this is not because the ancient Mexicans were ignorant of the actual length of a solar year, but rather because this calendar was a calendar for civil use, since both the Aztecs and the Mayans had religious and civil festivities stipulated in each of the 18 months of the Haab or Xiuhpohualli calendar in honor of the gods, sowing and harvests. This calendar has 365 days divided into 18 months of 20 days each, and also has a month of only 5 days that are known as wayeb or nemotemi. The days always have the name assigned to them by the 260 combinations of the tonalpohualli or tzolkin, since that calendar is the “count of the days”, but in the Haab calendar each day of the month has a number. Months start with the number 0, and the first month of the year is POP. For example, the Haab new year occurred on March 30, 2024 of the Gregorian calendar. The Mayan date for this day is 0 pop, 13 noj. Furthermore, 13 noj is the one who gave the new year its name. In this case, the first day of each Haab month will begin with a No'j day of the Tzolkin. The same happens with each of the 4 annual chargers. The third calendar that is very little known is the Bolon Tz'ak'ab or Bolon Tiku Calendar. Most of the information about this calendar was destroyed during the Spanish invasion. It is believed that this calendar was only used by priests and rulers, but it has been reconstructed through archaeological research, since it was quite unknown to ordinary people. This calendar consists of 819 days, and is made up of the synodic cycles of the visible planets such as Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus. 20 Bolon Tz'ak'ab cycles of 819 days form a GREAT BOLON TZ'AK'AB CYCLE OF 16,380 days, in which all the aforementioned factors fit together. This is where the importance of this calendar comes from. Each cycle of 819 days always begins with the numeral 1 and the sign preceding the last cycle. For example: from 7-29-22 to 10-24-24 the cycle was called 1 Kej The next cycle: from 10-25-24 to 1-21-27 will be called 1 kame The Bolon Tzacab calendar deserves many more explanations for be able to understand and handle it, which we will give in an upcoming video. But you may still be wondering: What is the use of knowing these calendars? As I said, the Tzolkin is related to human gestation, therefore it helps us keep up with the pace of our evolution as human beings. It serves as a guide or as a map for our personal and spiritual development. Inside out. Through our kin or nawal of birth we can delve deeper into our essence, our qualities, gifts and personality, to know ourselves better internally. With it we can develop our Mayan Cross to delve deeper and reflect much more on ourselves , knowing through it our ancestral burden, our life mission, how we can make this mission germinate and how to be successful in it, and we can also know what it should be. the legacy of our passage through this life. Furthermore, with the Mayan Cross we can glimpse the characteristics of our relationships as children, parents and as a couple. The Haab calendar helps us know in which environment our lives will take place most frequently; In what environment should we try to carry out our life mission. Furthermore, by knowing our birthday Haab we can know what our annual energy is, and with it calculate our Annual Mayan Cross, and have a more detailed map with our annual mission, how to grow our project, what goal you should complete, to take the next one the year next. Finally, the Bolon Tzacab Calendar will help us choose the most favorable periods to carry out our material projects. As the Tzolkin guides us in spiritual evolution, the Bolon Tzacab guides us in material development, that is, from the outside in. We are not just a body, but we are not just spirit either. We are a whole, and every part of us is important and deserves attention. We are many “bodies”, physical body, mind, emotions, spirit and energy. The wonderful thing about the bolon tzacab is that with it we can synchronize all these aspects, because in its great cycle all the visible planets, the moon and the tzolkin, are synchronized , thus covering all aspects of our being.
