Overview
This course presents the different road signs related to priority and their rules of application, especially on priority roads, at intersections, at STOP signs, and roundabouts.
Priority Road
- The yellow sign indicates that you are driving on a priority road and have priority at the following intersections.
- On a priority road, it is possible to overtake on the left at intersections if safety is ensured.
- An additional sign indicates the end of the priority road in 100 m, where you must yield.
Priority at the First Intersection
- The priority at intersection sign concerns only the next intersection, with representation of the cross streets.
- It is possible to overtake on the left in this intersection if safety allows.
- An additional blue sign indicates the exact route of the priority road, even if it turns.
Yield
- The inverted triangle requires yielding to vehicles on the crossed road.
- The "shark teeth" (triangle lines) on the ground mark the stopping point if needed.
- An additional sign may indicate the presence of cyclists/mopeds to watch for on both sides.
- An additional sign may specify the distance before the intersection where you must yield or stop.
STOP
- At the STOP sign, the driver must always stop at the line, even if no priority vehicle is visible.
- An additional sign may indicate to pay particular attention to cyclists or mopeds.
Roundabout
- A roundabout includes: a central device, entrances marked "yield", and the blue sign with three arrows.
- At the entrance, do not use the right turn signal; use it only for the exit.
- You must always yield to vehicles coming from the left already engaged in the roundabout.
- On a bike lane around the roundabout, yield to cyclists and pedestrians when leaving the roundabout.
- If the cyclist crossing is off to the side, yield only if the cyclist is already on the roadway.
- At a circular square without specific signage, apply the priority to the right.
