streaming live today on sermon audio and not that i don't like sermon audio streaming i do but i generally don't stream live on sermon audio uh i generally do on youtube but i think i'll eventually when i get the studio going and everything we have a multiple cast of streams that go everywhere so hopefully you can hear me okay but looks like everything's coming in okay the audio looks good but i was i was kicked off um youtube for a while and i was kicked off because of my covet video that i did like we like months ago it was a truck talk and you know when i was kicked off it it just reminded me of this song i'm gonna play for you right now it just it just reminded me of this and i i thought about this and maybe you'll get the irony of it [Music] nobody loves me everybody hates me guess i'll go eat worms big fat juicy ones teeny tiny slimy ones feel them squish and squirm bite off their heads suck out the juice throw the skins away can't you see my misery cause nobody nobody loves me oh i feel your pain while bill [Music] nobody loves me everybody hates me guess i'll go eat bugs feast on flies with big green eyes slurp down slimy slugs perch out my lip suck my thumb i'm in misery i've been crying tears for years cause nobody nobody nobody nobody nobody nobody loves me [Music] there you go so that's that's what i thought when i heard that i eventually after i thought about it for a while that thought came to my mind that nobody nobody nobody loves me especially on youtube nobody loves me so i thought i'd play that that's a that's a patch the pirate song and um i thought it was fitting for this broadcast to get started over here on on sermon audio today that that uh you know that's kind of my my feeling there that you you almost get the feeling that on youtube nobody loves me everybody hates me i might as well go eat worms so anyway i've got more of those songs coming i i like those those are funny i've got some good ones not today though but i'll save them for another day but anyway we've got uh on the opbc thread on uh instant messenger which is the only way i can communicate with anybody now because sermon audio doesn't have a live link and they probably don't have it because people are nasty and mean i guarantee you the reason why they don't have a live messenger on sermon audio is because they can't police how absolutely mean people can be that's that's probably why anyway so that's why that's why we uh uh don't have one there but when we get our website up and by the way you can go to our website uh let's see let me get it for you here that's not it uh there it is oldpastbaptistchurch.org of course and uh let's see here you go you can listen look there i am i'm right there how'd i get there that's the live stream player that that that is embedded into into our website right so if you want to watch us live you can go to oldpassbaptistchurch.org oldpastbaptistchurch.org you can go there and watch live through there and i'll just put that on i'll put that on youtube right or on facebook right now just so there we go opb opbc yeah live there you go all right let's see there we go that'll make people happy because that's what we're about making people happy influencing people right so we're going to talk about a number of things today um we are going to actually we're going to talk about one specific thing but we're going to go into a few different directions kind of or should i say we're going to squeeze as much of the grape out as we possibly the juice out of the grape as we possibly can when it comes to this issue that we're going to talk about today which is the voodoo spirit and history of rock music now you have to understand that rock music is extremely wicked music there's no way to christianize rock music let's just see the last time i preached on this or taught on this i should say or you could call it that if you'd like where is that there it is right there this is kind of a follow-up to that one this was hollywood shamans rock music mediums spirit of antichrist okay that was uh a couple weeks ago looks like 131 couple weeks ago not even a couple weeks ago not yeah maybe two weeks ago i guess whatever all right so we're gonna follow up today and i'm gonna show you the spirit now a lot of a lot of the reference material comes from uh david cloud's book on the history of rock and roll rock music uh and rock music against god whatever you want to call if you go to his website you can get however i went out and found you actual videos and more in-depth analysis of exactly what i'm talking about and the reason for that is so that you can learn and see visually what's going on you can get an understanding of what i'm talking about when i show you this video today if you're a christian and you still listen to rock music after you watch this you got rocks in your head no that's not that wasn't funny or like one person said it's kind of punny though it might be a little bit punny right i think so but afterwards if you can still listen to rock music after i show you and by the way that's rock hip hop and believe me i'm gonna do a little bit more in-depth things on hip-hop music and and things like that but still rock and roll is still played wherever you go rock music is played in every store you go to if it's not hip-hop it's rock music and all of it's pretty much the same in that sense it has the same spirit and by the way hip-hop and rap is just more of that haitian voodoo spirit is all it is so when i get done with you today mister and missus you're going to understand how absolutely filthy and dirty rock music is and how much god hates it and the spirit that is behind it there ought to be a spirit there's a spirit behind all music there's a spirit behind all music one either is a spirit that tends to the glory of god and that honors and glorifies god or the other spirit is that of antichrist rock music rock music has the spirit of antichrist plain and simple ah let's see here [Music] by the way i did appeal my jail time i did appeal my jail time in um for youtube i did appeal it but who knows well we know don't we we know we know don't we we know that youtube is never gonna never gonna say they were wrong if they do it will be a miracle of god am i right if youtube says okay we're gonna let you back on we're we're wrong we we misread the information we misread it we're gonna let you back on if they did that wow would that be a miracle that would be the lord overriding their decision and putting me back on there i'm suspended for two weeks i've been naughty you've been naughty you naughty little boy you what did i do i told the truth the video they cut out was i called it vaccine mandates obama's hypocrisy and all it was was obama having a big old party at his house with no social distancing right no social distancing no vaccine mandates no masks and he was just partying like a rock star no pun intended but we'll see if that happens or not that's all it was how do my truck talks cause so much trouble they seem to be really nice but at last they caused much trouble much trouble in paradise so they got mad at me they kicked me off they won't let me play in any of their reindeer games any longer i'm like rudolph the red-nosed reindeer i have a shiny nose so i'm got kicked off the plantation right but now we press on what do we do when we get kicked off we go eat worms no we we play our favorite song nobody nobody nobody loves me right and then we we get to it and that's going to be talking about the voodoo spirit of rock music man was this stuff creepy let me tell you you want to talk about creepy you want to talk about creepy weird stuff holy buckets full of devils was it ever weird of course there wouldn't be a holy bucket full of devils would there sorry about that lord anyway it was very very strange stuff all right so it was weird weird weird weird stuff now somebody told on me put me in the corner and told on me but we're gonna get to this rock music thing um we're going to start out by reading some things i'm going to start out by reading some things from david cloud and then i'm going to show you some videos but let's let's start quickly with this just just a touch of this i'm not trying to defile anybody okay i'm not trying to show you this stuff to make you listen to rock music i want you to understand [Music] [Applause] okay so hold that thought right there because you're gonna need that okay and i'll be honest with you it for to the flesh it sounds awesome it sounds great to the flesh it's appealing to man's flesh and maybe it's because it reminds me that was hulk hogan when he returned to the ring under the new world order that's that's the song he played i didn't know that until just now i didn't realize that till just now but that's the that's the that's the riff or whatever that's what that's what he played right so anyway it's interesting isn't it when you look at it from that perspective yes he was brilliant jimi hendrix was brilliant because he had devils all right ccm defenders usually deny says david cloud that there is a connection between voodoo and african witchcraft and rock music steve law law head in his book rock reconsidered quotes tony palmer that rock and and its evil beat originated with the slaves of africa is a racist notion which will not stand up see they don't want to hear this rock and rollers ccmers all these people they don't want to hear that rock music comes from africa that its beats originated from african slaves now i personally have my own opinion about this that i believe that rock music and and the pop culture that's going on today i absolutely believe that it is the judgment of god for bringing slaves over here african slaves over here i absolutely believe it i believe it when i see pop culture when i see what's going on here i absolutely believe that it is part of the curse of doing such a thing dan and steve peters present the same position on page 187 of their book what about christian rock such a denial is absolute spiritual blindness dr william sergeant head of the psychological medicine department at st thomas hospital in london says the beatles and african witch doctors all practice a similar type of brainwashing wow that was a psychologist that said that that wasn't a baptist preacher that said that you understand that was in the wichita beacon february 17 1965 leonard seidel a concert pianist and distinguished lecturer on music has researched this topic and exposes the lie that there is no connection between voodoo and african paganism and rock music see here's what they try to say look there's no connection between rock music and african tribal music oh yes there is it's all witchcraft and it's all the same and the connection is there and i'm going to show you that today that the connection is there then i'm going to show you the examples of what it is right there before your eyes he goes on to say this the incessant poly rhythms pounded out on cylinder cylindrical drums by african tribals is the catalyst of rhythm and blues rock and roll and today's heavy metal it is amazing that the reactions we see at a contemporary rock concert are an exact copy of what happened in the pinkster celebration black festivals in new york or at place congo black slave dancing in new orleans which by the way i'm going to show you what congo really is they're names of gods their gods is what they are those dances are named after gods which i which i would say to you are fallen angels probably for the most part and that's what gives them their power to do what they do any analysis that denies this fact renders renders the church impoverished in its understanding of the african connection to the rock movement of the 20th century you know peter ruckman used to say either it's and i don't agree with everything peter ruckman said but i agree with this he said either back to the bible or back to the jungle and this is the jungle you could tell that guy had devils in him by just listening to how he played in stairway to heaven david say quotes robert palmer in rolling stone illustrated history of rock and roll in a very real sense rock he says this in a very real sense rock was implicit in the music of the first africans brought to north america and implicit in their music were centuries of accumulated rights rituals and religious fervor the music of the first brutalized and bewildered slaves ripped from cultures as old as the pyramids those ancient chants and tribal stomps didn't simply evoke the spirits of the forest gods they animated and immortalized them david says stairway to heaven new york ballad time books 1986. see admits it these aren't baptist preachers admitting this you understand right this isn't this isn't a baptist preacher admitting that that's not what that is by the way let me see if i can pull this up let me put that link um i want you to read i want to read this to you give me a second here hmm oh i know where to put that let's see let me see here i i've got to read this to you because it will help you to understand what i'm saying it didn't pull up on my regular thing but it'll pull up over here lord willing let's see if it does for whatever reason i cannot pull this up to read it to you but i can on my phone so i will just read it on my phone i'm not sure why it won't pick up this article but anyway this article is from off the beaten track how west african voodoo became the lifebud of the of the blues okay and in this article it talks about that voodoo that is rock music and and you say is this from this is from faroutmagazine.co.uk so you can check my references out so you know i'm not i'm not playing games with you or anything like that all right this is not a christian this person says the fact that voodoo is a misnomer for vodou voodoo is a clear signifier of the butchering misconceptions that have befallen the religion either through colonialism hollywood or otherwise far from a quirky quark quack-riddled realm of curses and zombification sequestered from real society it's actually permeated our lives through its influence on music as much as any other external any other external uh stimulus voodoo is the lifeblood of the blues which is in turn the backbone of the modern music the story of the blues itself has purpose has perhaps never been more aptly expressed than through the wit of one of its favorite song sons leighton hopkins in the life affirming les blanc a movie so anyway he's telling you basically the story is one that forms an allegorical mirror of the tales of the blues he's telling you basically that all of these things all of the like the blues all of it it comes from west africa it's a religion as old as the time he says that mythically wove into existence in west africa sadly this region was besieged by atrocity of slavery in the colonial era this meant that many of the slaves headed towards america were followers of voodoo however it was repressed by slave owners thus the slaves were forced into being subtle and sub subversive with the way in which they practice the ancient ways basically they did what the tower of babel did or excuse me they did what constantine did those slaves mingled with catholicism their voodoo think about that catholicism was forced upon them but rather than drown out the voodoo tunes it merely formed a fusion the drums and rhythms may well have been abandoned out of necessity but gospel songs became a fusion where voodoo and hymns met the same sense of profound exaltation was present and the drums were vocalized in the chants and incantations of sing-along songs of soul salvation alas outside the churches the beats the rhythms the ethics and everything else contained within voodoo ceremonies were turned into the plantation songs that owners found acceptable but perhaps more so than this mutation of the old ways in terms of the sonic influences on the music that followed the very notion of rock and roll is at the core of voodoo as it is stated michael ventura's rock history hear that long snake moan he says this the voodoo rite of possession by the god became the standard of american performance in rock and roll i'm going to say it to you again listen to me michael ventura's rock history hear that long snake moan let's see if we can find that here it is this is his history of rock okay in it from shadow dancing in the usa in it he is saying this comment so that's where it is hear that long snake moan he says this the voodoo rite of possession by the god became the standard of american performance in rock and roll elvis presley little richard jerry lee lewis james brown janice joplin tina turner jim morrison johnny rotten prince they let themselves be possessed not by any god they could name but by the spirit they felt in the music their behavior in this possession was something western society had never before tolerated so in other words when you see prince and you see the doors and you see uh james brown and you see all these other men you see that they are completely taken by a spirit that is in the music right by a spirit that's in the music i want you to think about that for a second let's see one let me show you something here you know what a tabard is right it's a drum okay the biblical definition of it is a drum see tabor a small drum used in a compliment to a pipe or a fife to strike lightly and frequently it's a drum satan the bible describes lucifer son of man take up this lamentation upon the king of tyrus and say unto him thus saith the lord god thou seals up the son full of wisdom and perfect in beauty thou hast been in eden the garden of god who is that there is no king that was in eden except lucifer thou has been in eden the garden of god every precious stone was thy covering the sardis the topaz the diamond the pearl the onyx and the jasper and the sapphire the emerald and the carbon gold the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou was created satan lucifer when he was created lucifer was the musical instrument in heaven do you understand that he was the instrument of music in heaven so who knows how to give them those fat beats who knows how to give them those dope beats who knows how to give them those things satan the fallen lucifer what is the spirit of those beats [Music] that is african zulu drum music and we're going to get to that a little bit later but that's what that is that is african zulu drum music satan is the spirit in the beats the antichrist lucifer is the spirit of rock music that's who he is that's the spirit behind it how about this the sense of frenzied exaltation that draws us to concerts and performances where the banal norms of society are temporarily eviscerated is a practice brought about by western african tradition six thousand years ago fuzz petals might have been absent but the pounding rhythms of drums and of distorted wave of sound was very much present these age-old ceremonies were imported law along with the abhorrent upheaval of slavery and although although they were forced to change on necessity they remained there in the undercurrent as deborah diva states in the novel the language of the blues from al kharab to zuzu africans she says this africans brought here as slaves carried with them incredibly strong aesthetic ethical and cultural values that not only withstood the shock of their forced transplantation of the new world but transformed and invigorated it their influence made us uniquely american it's why we respond to that voodoo beat oh wow screaming jay hawkins song i put a spell on you voodoo child by jimi hendrix right right that's the spell that he put on them right voodoo child he's admitting it he's telling you who he is they're telling you where it came from very plainly let's see here let me read you something else here implications such as these lead to a deeper investigation and a focus on the slaves and who they exactly were who were these people who were they and why do we have music today that is full of beats over harmony why it's the worship of their gods i'm telling you something right now there is an absolute absolute curse with rock music and it has permeated our entire society our country our churches our homes cursed with this devilish music and by the way i still believe rock music is of the devil i don't care how you make it sound rop rock hip hop rap r b christian rock ccm its beats are notoriously the same as voodoo beats it's what it is maya darren under under the guggenheim foundation in 1953 concerning the history of the african tribal origins of demon gods and voodoo meetings in haiti the book is called the divine divine horsemen the living gods of haiti and it deals with the importation of the slaves from the west coast of africa to the caribbean islands these slaves were taken from the same tribes from which the slaves and the colonies were taken singles bombers air raids congos congas fawns and fulas the first slave shipment to haiti was in 1510 as with the colony slaves they brought with them only their worship of gods their dances and their drum beats that's what they brought with them their dances and their drum beats right that's what they brought holy buckets you're not gonna believe this it says hello opbc online we have reviewed your appeal for the following the strike from your channel yay praise the lord isn't that something that was i told you it'd be god almighty that answers it if it happens how about that or in the words of some of my friends how about that anyway let's get back to it praise the lord so we'll be back on there lord willing friday we'll see what happens right they admitted that those beats were exactly that elaine southern states this there is no question that haiti was the central place where african religious traditions synchronized with catholic beliefs and practices to produce voodoo the ceremony centered upon worship of the snake god dambala through singing dancing and the snake god dambala and spirit possession dambala right we'll get to dambala here in a little while let's see let's see if i there we go damballah there there's a there's a let's see i'm trying to let me get a picture that's not too nasty okay i'll show you this one here real quick this is they call him the sky father dambala remember what i just said to you the ceremony centered upon the worship of the snake god damballah right there dambala the snake god the sky father dambala hey you noticed something does anybody notice something about that i do what do you notice about that pastor i notice that they're always naked they always want to take their clothes off huh that reminds me when israel had a rock concert remember that here it is exodus 32 6. well where did they come from egypt israel had left egypt what was going on in egypt some of that dambala some of that witchcraft some of that perverted dancing some of that stuff that's what was going on right that's the stuff that was going on look at it look at exodus 32. and uh 32 let's see let's let's read it here remember remember this sermon that i preached a long time ago when israel had a rock concert remember that well israel had a rock concert didn't they says that when aaron saw it he built an altar before it aaron made proclamation tomorrow as a feast of the lord and they rose up early on tomorrow and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings and the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play well one of the things they did was moses was mad and when he saw the calf and the dancing look at this and it came to pass as soon as he came nigh into the camp that he saw the calf and the dancing and moses anger wax hot and he cast the tables out of his hands and break them beneath the mount and he took the calf which they had made and burnt it in the fire and grounded the powder and strawded upon the water and made the children of israel drink of it oh is this your god then why don't you drink it and moses said on aaron what did this people under thee that thou has brought so great a sin upon them and when moses saw that the people were naked for aaron had made them naked under their shame among their enemies moses stood in the gate right moses said you made him naked what's that spirit dambala that's one of them that's their god that's the god that's in the beat through singing dancing and spirit possession they are literally trying to be possessed by devils by the way when you see rock and roll stars when you see hip-hop stars when you see them dance when you see people dance to that music what do you see looks like possession looks sort of like this check this out when slaves from all over africa were brought here to haiti they forged a new spirit religion one that incorporates elements from its adversary the catholic church on okay now i'm going to make somebody mad here okay somebody said on my video you should listen for 30 seconds and then talk hey let me tell you something you go get your own broadcast and then you can do what you want to do but on this one i'm doing what god leads me to do and if i got something to say i'm going to say it if you don't like it you can either shut your ears or turn the channel either way that's just the way it goes friend i'm not mad at you i'm just telling you the truth everybody's got an opinion the only problem is nobody listens to yours most the time so i tell people that never do anything for god but yet wanna come on and bash somebody that's trying to do something for the lord right okay here we go roman catholicism do you hear what he said he said they combined with their enemy roaming catholicism no that's not their enemy that's babylon it's babylon that's what it is remember that why can they get along well why did constantine's christianity get along with everybody because it's not biblical christianity how come roman catholicism can get along with voodoo priests because they're the same that's who they are same spirit antichrist on the surface haiti is a catholic country but daily life still moves to the rhythms of spirit religion miraguan is a small port on the haitian coast businessman gary mazziel once was the town's mayor but mozilla has another side as a voodoo priest gary's family has a problem as village priest gary must try to solve it recently berto a young cousin began acting strangely barito ain't doing so well berto got devils i was doing my ceremony here and i see beto start talking a little bit differently than yesterday and i said what's happened to berta as a voodoo priest gary mazziel also serves as a community healer in the household okay look at him beating on the drums and he's saying he's going to cast out devils right they're going to cast out devils no you're putting devils in you're just trading devils the spirits he will ask for help to restore cousin berto's sanity [Music] relatives including berto's father gather in the temple and begin to summon the spirits [Music] an answer comes not from an ancestor spirit but from one of the most powerful and feared voodoo spirits baron sametti lord of the dead he takes possession of gary the spirit reveals the cause of berto's trouble did you just see how he was dancing by the way look at that mockery why is his arm stretched out like that what why is that like that what what's up with that you know what's up with that you know it's antichrist you know exactly what's going on there lord of the dead lord of the dead the bible says all they that hate me love death now watch watch his dancing and what is that he takes possession of gary the spirit reveals the cause of berto's trouble his own father the lord of the dead goes after the man hey what do you call that guy no world did he just call him goes after the man but you have no money to help out your sons if you cannot be responsible for your family they will become my responsibility in neglecting the ancestral spirits verto's father angered so he's taking control of old berto here he's trying to steal that guy's family from him and he's going to tell him that the mojo and the demons he's got in him or better than say what's this got to do with rock music it's the same thing it's haitian voodoo it's that's what i'm trying to show you it's the dances are the same the beats are the same everything's the same [Music] gary tries to free berto from the spirit's grip gotta beat that spirit out of him beat that boy he's gonna smack him upside his head about 30 times look and notice they're beating on the drums the whole time think about that it's rock music friend he presses berto's father to make amends with the spirits reluctantly he agrees in voodoo when believers resist the spirits they must pay [Music] to those unfamiliar with spirit religion it might seem like black magic but the powers of the spirit world work for both good and evil look at it look at it but the powers of the spirit world work for both good andy that's a possessed person right there when i heard that people saying that voodoo is devilish people drinking blood eating fresh meats you know i get upset because when i hear something when somebody say that voodoo is devilish i get mad i get upset well let me tell you something there bud you got devils and you not only have devils you are like a priest and a medium for devils and voodoo is of the devil that's exactly what it is and you need to get saved by the grace of almighty god because you got devils you're gonna die and go to a devil's hell i never been a part of it the morning after berto's treatment the sun brings two revelations berto's father is missing and berto is no better off the spirits continue to torment him [Music] but others also depend on gary each look they're just beating up beating the drums beating the drums beating the drums spring his duties include learning which spirit will guide the community for the coming year he spills rum and water and lights candles trying to draw spirits to the temple wait he's using liquor he's using liquor to draw spirits to the temple and beats gary struggles to breathe by the way doesn't that look like the same thing that cat was doing remember catherine crick the satanic trick the charismatic remember her katherine crick the charismatic trick right well that he looks like he's puking wait are you saying pastor that you think that lady's actually infusing devils in yeah as his body resists the spirit's arrival now he dancing look now he's dancing look what does this look like a concert caught up in the hold of a warrior spirit gary speaks in the warrior spirit's [Music] it is through gary that this spirit will guide the village for the next year so that's the spirit [Music] gary weeps with relief as the spirit leaves it people are celebrating the change of seasons but berto still rages and there is no sign of his father it's a grim reminder of the spirit's power and the danger of ignoring their demands despite attempts to destroy spirit religion whoa okay so anyway basically what do you see there a rock concert you see hip-hop you see rap you see bumping and grinding dancing you see um so when people say uh remember remember whether you say uh uh wave your hands in the air like you just don't care you know let you let your body go it's the rhythm is gonna get you all those things well they're not lying that's that's what they're doing so you ain't gonna look you ain't gonna tell me that this stuff ain't witchcraft you ain't gonna tell me that if you're listening to rock music if you're listening to this stuff right here you're not gonna tell me that you're not practicing witchcraft you're not gonna convince me of that because i can see who does it they're a bunch of pagans and the bible says learn not the way of the heathen and they are a bunch of heathens they're a bunch of heathens devil possessed heathens their religious worship says one was based on drums and dancing and as they worshipped a god or demon the ultimate experience was to have their bodies possessed by that demon what did that guy just say he danced like that until that demon came in him that's what he was doing in the village that voodoo priest he was waiting till the devil possessed him the ultimate experience was to have their bodies possessed by that demon the rituals were grossly sensualistic and sadistic firmly said in the caribbean isles the practice made its way to the shores of the united states primarily through the city of new orleans historically saved slaves from santo domingo were brought to the states during the haitian revolution in 1804 but voodoo probably existed before this because the state of louisiana imported slaves from the west indies in 1716 and the practice was also reported in missouri georgia and florida okay now just digest that for a second and think about that when you hear those voodoo beats because that's what they are when you hear dr dre uh bringing the beats right dr dre mixes the beets well yeah that's what dre does he mixes the beats where well what kind of beats are they they're african beats so you're racist i don't care what you call it i don't care because one thing you'll learn about me i'm not a snowflake i won't fall apart if you say you're racist you're a rapist oh no that's like telling me you're gonna tell my mommy why i'm racist because i tell you the truth it's right there in plain sight and it's been a plague on white man ever since yep and the world by the way not just white men but every culture that's what they did the dances of new orleans were named for the voodoo gods of the worship rituals the samba was dedicated to the god simbi all right i'm going to show you that here it is here's the god simbi so you know how people do a samba dance right i'm trying to find one that's not naked wow that's really hard to do never mind i can't they're really nasty so anyway ha simbi is a large and diverse family of serpents also known as loa in haitian voodoo some names for simbi include simbi de lo whatever anyway grand simbi traditionally in their congo text they are associated with water but in haitian voodoo context they have a wide ranging associations for example simbi mayaka a great sorcerer and served in particular in the sanhwell secret societies that's simbi see the serpent see the serpents they twirl around they move around believe me i'm doing my best to keep this as clean as i possibly can honest to goodness i am doing my best to keep this as possibly as clean as i can it is really difficult when you're trying to show people the real truth of this when you're trying to show people exactly what's going on and where it all comes from it's really difficult because i can't even show you that samba dance which i really don't want to anyway but the point is is that i can't show it to you because it's perverted and they're always and what are they i can't show it to you because they're naked they got their rear ends hanging out they're not dressed and they're moving their body like a seductive snake i can't show you right there's like i can't there's no way to really show you that but here's the god that it's named after here's the god right there that's the one it's named after right there voodoo hmm wow that's it huh yeah that's it next time you want to incorporate uh christian music right next time you wanna you think you're gonna incorporate christian music the hymns of the lord or christian music next time you think you're gonna do that why don't you think about that it's named after a bunch of false gods and all their dances and everything they're doing they're named after gods african tribal gods the congo was named after the african demon congo right the conga that's over here congo was mixed into this right here listen to this voodoo traditions were practiced by haitians who came from africa the religious traditions were handed down the voodoo religion believes in a creator who cannot be easily reached so voodoo worshipers contact spirits which act as go-betweens between the creator and the worshipper the simbi is aloha which represents magic simbi is portrayed as a snake the lowest used to contact the dead wait a minute preacher you saying they do the drums and they beat the drums because they're drumming up spirits they're drumming up devils and that's what they're doing the dances for and the beats for and all that stuff because they're strumming up devils and they're trying to reach devils yeah music is worship and they're worshiping through that music and they're worshiping false gods that's what they're doing that is what they're doing they're worshiping false gods and their music is a false god's music that's conga it was named after by the way i had somebody in my church one time that told me that the chicano glory fell upon him i i had a friend once he was a pastor and he told me about the same instance they were in a revival meeting and he said that the chicana glory fell down and we all were in a conga line huh well that conga dance comes from an african demon congo so it wasn't it wasn't the glory of god it could have been the shekinah or like that one guy says it brother nathaniel the shekinah that guy's funny man he's a squirrel and a half anyway uh but uh the shekinah the shekinah but anyway he told me that that the chicana glory fell on brother they're from the south brother we were going to chicana glory fell down upon us and we just hit revival and we just started doing the conga line all the way through that church and i'm like whatever that's just a bunch of southern nonsense is all it is ain't got nothing to do with the gospel ain't got nothing to do with people getting right with god ain't got nothing to do with the the holy ghost of god filling you with his spirit it's a bunch of sensationalism and garbage is all it is you ask me pastor you think they had devils no i don't think they had devils i think it was stupid i think you blaming that on god and saying that some kind of movement of god is nuts and by the way those people don't like me anymore that's something they don't what what happened what do you mean what happened they don't like you anymore no they don't listen it's like this [Music] when you tell people the truth is how it goes nobody loves me everybody hates me guess i'll go eat worms big fat juicy ones teeny tiny slimy ones feel them squish and squirm bite off their heads suck out the juice throw the skins away can't you see my misery cause nobody nobody loves me there you go that's what happened right there never heard from them again they were just done with me well we're done with you that wasn't for that maybe out maybe it was for that because i always make fun of that stuff because like you know how i am i i can't take that charismatic stuff like i i can't take that goofball stuff i have to make fun of it you know anyway um boy do i have a good video for you from brother daryl that i'm going to show you sometime right i know i know anyway all right let's get going here that we talk about the conga right how about the mamba the mambo was named after the viewer priestess who offered sacrifices to the demons during the rituals the mamba hey look at this there's a mamba in dragon ball z it's a villain appearing in direct she's a witch who lures unsuspecting travelers into her home and then cooks and eats them wow strong enough to kill normal humans that wander into her territory however she tends to rely on deception like satan wow yeah wasn't that something let's see that was the mamba the mamba was a false god a voodoo priestess who offered sacrifices to demons okay sheldon rodman author of haiti the black republic describes these dances and relates them to the dances of today it's interesting to note that in 1981 the rock album my life in the bush of ghosts by brian eno and david byrne they coaxed african spirits from rock's own dim past they coaxed spirits to them sounds like aleister crowley right when he channeled his spirit right that he wanted look like a gray alien remember that i forget his name they do it by this and again look no clothes on just jumping up and down with no clothes on african zulu drum music hmm you must be racist man man you must be racist marry you you racist man no i just tell the truth i don't care what color you are if you're a white devil i'll tell your white devil i don't care what color you are especially when it's against god especially when it perverts the the gospel especially when it perverts the truth of the scriptures especially when it by the way who remembers this we well anyway i'll get to that in a second let's just keep going the most pointed observation made says david cloud and the maya darren books book concerns the drummer the rhythms and the beat of all the individuals related to ritual activity it is the drummer whose role would seem almost analogous to that of an individual virtuoso haitian ritual drumming requires more explicit craft training and practice than any other ritual activity maya darren the divine horseman the living gods of haiti she observes that the dancers are forced to salute the drummer first before any part of the ritual is entered into it is obvious that without the drum the ritual cannot progress what a striking parallel to the modern rock band the drum is set the drum set is always center stage usually elevated behind the lead singer without the drummer or in many cases the the bass guitarist the rock band would cease to exist further miss darren writes that it is upon the drummer that the burden falls of integrating the intricate intriguating i got that right uh integrating excuse me the the participants into the homogeneous collective it is drumming which fuses the 50 or more individuals into a single body making them move as one as if all these singular bodies had become linked on the thread of a single pulse a pulse which beats sending the body into a slow serpentine undulation which begins in the shoulders and the spine the legs and the hips remember what that guy was doing same thing in that video that that haitian priest ms darren goes to some length in her book to describe the inanimate object of the drum as being sacred even to the place of being fed food and guarded by those attending it it is the drums and the drum beats per se which are the sacred ground pearl primus long noted for her expertise on the voodoo dance has said the drummers keep up the the terrific throb and beat which very easily takes possession of the sensibilities of the worshippers observe say these that drums themselves are able to bring a person to a place where it is easy for the deity the loa to take possession of their bodies the defenseless person okay let me show you something this happened at this concert this was a rolling stones concert everybody went nuts at it but we'll get to that in a second the defenseless person is buffeted by each stroke as the dumber as the dumber haha the dumber i like that the drummer the drummer sets out to beat the lower the god into his head the person cringes with each large accented beat as if the drum mallet descended upon his very skull he ricochets about the place clutching blindly at the arms extended to support him that's lecture on mount holyoke from mount holyoke college 1953. there can be no denying that there is a strong relationship between what we have uncovered in the demonication voodoo and its counterpart in the city of new orleans and other cities there is also no denying that the modern rock and roll movement evolved partially from some of the dances described earlier progressing through a number of stages the rhomba dancing rhythm and blues rock and roll disco heavy metal and punk rock there are of course other elements that make up the evolution of rock music however that is not the issue here concerning disco miss sutherland says the insistent pounding rhythms of the disco push conventional melody and harmonies into subordinate positions in a manner that recalled descriptions of the juba reciting to accompany the dancing on the plantations of the 19th century the music of black americans 1983 ruth twos and beatrice crone in their book relate the same instinct for pulsating rhythm rhythms that is found in the negro songs is carried over into their use of instruments banjos and on the plantation and later in the city where they adapted to the trumpet clarinet and the trombone with their innate talent for improv improvisation a new kind of instrumental music was created we call it jazz it's irrefutable that rock and roll music owes some of its roots to the tribes of africa every analysis written on the subject acknowledged that this is the roots that the roots are in deep in jazz and rhythm and blues because the relationship between american negro music and the african they have coined a term that is used considerably today afro-american music joseph mcauliffe macklin says that in his vulnerable voluminous work the enjoyment of music jazz by a rough definition of thumb is an impropositional afro-american musical idiom it makes use of elements of rhythm melody and harmony from africa and of melody and harmony from the european musical tradition the influence of jazz and of closely associated afro-american idioms has been so pervasive that by now most of our popular music is in an afro-american idiom and elements of jazz have permeated a good deal of our concert music as well that's not the only route there's more but it is one of the deep roots of rock music those beats right to declare that a certain rhythm or beat is evil cannot be proved entirely what is far more important is the historical revelation that demonic activity has been observed in connection with rituals where drums and rhythmatic beats have been the catalyst that this possibility exists should prove a warning to the church that satan can and will use anything in his power to turn humanity from the worship of a holy god to himself in order that he might ultimately fulfill his evil purpose and receive the glory leonard seidl face of the music contemporary church music on trial the connection between rock and roll and voodoo has been stated by unsaved rock musicians how about the british rock session drummer rocky zornu who has recorded with many famous groups as musicians such as rolling stones spooky tooth and ginger baker understand the music of jimi hendrix was aching to view voodoo music note the following music amazing statement from hendrix's biography he hendrix had gotten a chance to see rocky and some other african musicians on the london scene he found it a pleasure to play rhythm against their poly rhythms they would totally get outside into another kind of space that he had seldom been before rocky's father listen was a voodoo priest and the chief drummer of a village in ghana west africa rocky's real name was kowaski des desurino one of the first things rocky asked jimmy was where he got that voodoo rhythm from jimmy where'd you get that voodoo rhythm from where'd you find that you ain't never been there before [Music] [Applause] right where'd you get that rhythm from jimmy he got it from the same devil your daddy got it from there rocky he got it from devils one of the first things rocky asked jimmy was where he got that voodoo rhythm from when jimmy demurred rocky went on to explain in his halting english that many of the signature rhythms jimmy played on the guitar were very often the same rhythms that his father played in voodoo ceremonies oh really the same ones the way jimmy danced to the rhythms of his playing reminded rocky of the ceremonial dances to the rhythms his father played to oxen the god of thunder and lightning that's not what i want to see that's oxum oxume oh that's aksun see if there's another one i'm gonna tell you what man these people like being naked that's all i got to say man they love being naked oh here's oxun which is by the way it looks like oxun is the god of thunder and lightning looks like it's thor just indifferent wow it's basically these false gods this is a female deity it looks like um and that's all i'm i wouldn't recommend looking much of it up man are they wicked as hell uh aksun let's see let's hmm wow oxun is in minecraft how about that how about that huh wow anyway ok soon right jimmy we're jimmy demur that's where he got it from the god of thunder and lightning the ceremony is called voodoo she as a child in the village rocky would carve wooden representation representatives of the gods they also represent his ancestors they were the gods they worshipped they would jam a lot in jimmy's home one time they were jamming and jimmy stopped and asked rocky point blank you communicate with god do you rocky said yes i communicate with god excuse me while i kiss the sky page 250. see he point blank said it his god he does communicate with right his god he does communicate with doesn't he so we see that the non-christian son of an actual voodoo priest sees a direct connection between the music of rockstar jimi hendrix and the idolatrous voodoo it is the black rock drummer rocky uh is he a racist for making such an observation he was a black dude from the jungle man he was from he was from a voodoo nation man he just saying hey jimmy where'd you get them fat beats from man jimmy where'd you get them voodoo beats jimmy says i got him from the same place you did a devil well-known rock artist peter gabriel has no doubt that there is a direct african connection to rock and roll they are things like the bo diddley rhythm that i've heard beat for beat in congolese patterns right he says i might hurt him in congolese patterns part of what we consider our fundamental rock and roll heritage originated in africa period he said that ain't a christian man that's just some dude some rocker robert palmer noted mu rock music critic and historian connects rock music directly with the blues which in turn is connected directly with africa the african music from which the blues ultimately derives came to what is now the southern united states with the first african slaves palmer deep blues page 25. palmer observes that influential blues man robert johnson used rhythmic devices that have counterparts in west african drumming and he used them in an african manner stacking rhythms on top of each other in order to build up a dense layered arithmetic rhythmic complexity robert johnson who was he he's the one that went to the crossroads right that's where he went in his book rock and roll and unruly history robert palmer is even more forthright about the direct connection between voodoo and rock music many please come on say it the idea that certain patterns rhythm patterns or sequences serve as conduits for conduits for spiritual energies linking individual human consciousness with the gods is basic to traditional african religions and african derived religions throughout the americas and whether we're speaking historically or musical musical logically the fundamental riffs licks base figures and drum rhythms that make rock and roll rock can ultimately be traced back to african music of a primarily spiritual or ritual nature in a sense rock and roll is a kind of voodoo he said rooted in a vigorous tradition of celebrating nature that which the bible calls the flesh in spirit that's far removed from the sober patriarchal values espoused by the self-appointed guardians of western culture in other words he's making fun of us he's making fun of bible believers he's saying see this is voodoo this ain't like what you guys do you guys sing the wondrous love of jesus sing his mercy and his grace we don't do that we sing dark ritualistic spiritism music we sing the devils and they're possessed by devils that's what he's saying that i mean he's just coming out saying very plainly that's what he believes in 1982 interview with jerry lee lewis one of the fathers of rock and roll researcher stephen turner asked what power falls on him when he performs jerry lee lewis replied the power of voodoo me lion mean lion is he new he ain't lying telling you flat out is the power of voodoo jared uh uh little richard who went back and forth who's probably assad never was saved in the first place he said a love of the beats and the music today are taken a lot of the beats of the music today are taken from voodoo from the voodoo drums if you study music and rhythms like i have you'll see that it's true i believe that kind of music is driving people from christ it is contagious just admitting it because what it is i don't lie about it tell you what it is the rolling stones and other rock and roll groups have recorded tribal and voodoo occultic drumming ceremonies and incorporated these in their rock music the stones goat's head soup album allegedly contained such recordings including the fanatic drumming and the screams of voodoo adherence becoming possessed by loa or evil spirits this is that concert that they had altamonte speedway people died there by the way the stabbing death of meredith hunter and the three accidental deaths too caused by a hit-and-run car accident people started going nuts they started freaking out and they started they started just being possessed and running around like maniacs you mean like that travis scott concert where these people were dying and all this stuff happened well yeah i mean that's the spirit that they have it was so bad even the grateful dead didn't want to show up at this concert john lennon said rock and roll gets through to people because of its voodoo beat he said because it is primitive enough and has no bowl really the best stuff and it gets through to you at its best it's best it gets through you at speed go to the jungle and they have the rhythm and it goes throughout the world and it's as simple as that john lennon rolling stone february 12 1976 page 100. he says i mean it's the beats man tony sanchez who traveled with the stones for many years and who wrote a book about them described the music at their infamous concert at altamonte during which many people were injured and killed as pounding voodoo drumming and primitive shrieks that's the spirit behind it he described the music of rolling stone's song gimme shelter the hypnotic voodoo rhythm which is kind of like this right here [Music] [Music] that's the moroccan beets that's what that is hypnotic voodoo rhythm mccallum mclaren who managed the vile punk groups such as the sex pistols and adam and the ant incorporated zulu tribal music what is zulu tribal music this is zulu tribal music [Music] [Music] [Music] that's what it is that's zulu tribal music see how it's hypnotic the way it sounds is hypnotic music musicologist john chernov studied drumming in africa even participating in animal sacrifices and other pagan ceremonies to appease the drum spirits after these demonic ceremonies he claimed that his arms did not tire and he seemed never to make a mistake shernoff noted the close connection between voodoo type african cold drumming and rock and roll great drummers aficionados and scholars can trace the rhythms of the latin dance halls of new york to cuban and brazilian cults and then to west africa here's the here's the cuban cult and brazilian cult watch this it was through the portals of bahia the center of the brazilian slave trade that three to five million africans were first brought to the new world missionaries baptized them when they landed but didn't care if they kept their drums their songs and some of their own by the way let me just let me just stop that for a second and tell you those missionaries were catholic those are not bible preaching bible-believing christians those are catholics that force people on customs although the catholic church later attempted to suppress african religion the slaves were able to incorporate catholicism with their own gods and rituals producing what today is called condom play as practiced now condom play remains close in form to the original african religions brought by the slaves david byrne of talking heads he produced a documentary film called the house of life on the drumming and chanting rituals of the african rooted religion condobley in brazil during which the followers are taken over by their gods now we're gonna back this up just a little bit so you can remember this this part right they're taken over by their gods let's see oops i lost my spot here hang on how in the world did i do that hang on a second here it is during which the followers are taking over the drumming and the chanting rituals of the african ruden religion here in brazil during which the followers are taken over by their gods it was through the portals of bahia the center of the brazilian slave trade that three to five million africans were first brought to the new world missionaries baptized them when they landed but didn't care if they kept their drums their songs and some of their own customs although the catholic church later attempted to suppress african religion the slaves were able to incorporate catholicism with their own gods and rituals producing what today is called condom play as practiced now condom blade remains close in form to the original african religions brought by the slaves umbanda the most popular form of makumba is a colorful blend of condom blade catholicism american indian religions and european spiritualism [Music] a central feature of umbanda is an altered state of consciousness described by devotees as possession by supernatural beings okay we're gonna back up a little bit possession by supernatural beings so wait a minute the beats are there the drumming is there the rituals are there the dancing is there to bring on devils so it brings on possession a central feature of umbanda is an altered state of consciousness described by devotees as possession by supernatural beings spirit possession is a state in which the medium's own consciousness leaves and his body is entered by the possessing entity drumming singing and dancing accompany the celebration as the spirits arrive ordering food drinks cigars special costumes or whatever it is they like umbanda members report feeling spiritually or psychologically cleansed after recovering from possession anthropologists psychologists and medical doctors have been intrigued by the success of umbanda in treating certain psychological and even medical problems through umbanda the dispossessed seem to regain a sense of power and respect by associating themselves with powerful supernatural forces umbanda also helps to integrate the adherence personality by allowing the expression of repressed aspects of his or her personality in the context of possession however it is understood or explained umbanda functions as a psychotherapy for the poor people come seeking solutions to their problems and umbanda offers them the help they need in recent years umbanda has become a powerful force in brazil's popular culture providing a means of expression and creativity and its influence can be felt throughout brazil that is unbelievable isn't it that just shows you first hand and exactly they're describing devil possession right there they are describing the music being the means of that the drum being the means of that devil possession if you go back in the history of american popular music you're constantly finding elements of voodoo influence the rhythms are there even little richard if you grow up with that you've already got a taste of it so when you see kendama you can dumble you you say to yourself hey this is part of where it all comes from before his death brian jones of the rolling stones spent time in africa recording the trance music of moroccan dervish brothers brotherhood that's this this is the trans music [Music] it's hypnotic music uh here's another one and this is freaky [Music] that's what he's talking about that's what the beats are for the beats are to strum up devils that's what they do that's the reason they have them that's the reason they bang on those drums that's the reason they do that mickey heart drummer for the grateful dead has studied the connection between rock music and african paganism extensively he says that rock and roll is the latest extension of the african backbeat from his book drumming at the edge of magic he says that the mother rhythms from west africa mutated into rock and roll he traces a direct connection between rock and roll and the rhythms of witch doctors and voodoo practitioners he says this when the slave ships began plying the waters between the new world and west africa everyone thought they carried just strong expendable bodies but they were also carrying the counter player culture maybe even the mother goddess culture preserved in the form of drum rhythms that could call down the orisha from their time to ours in the caribbean and south america slaves were allowed to keep their drums and thus preserve their vital connection with the orisha through the sudden mingling of so many different tribes produced a new variation like kandabala santeria and voodoo and out of this serving came severing came jazz the blues the backbeat rhythm and blues and rock and roll some of the most powerful rhythms on the planet it's hard to pinpoint the exact moment when i awoke to the fact that my tradition rock and roll did have a spirit side that there was a branch of the family that had maintained the ancient connection between the drum and the gods mickey heart drummer for the grateful dead drumming at the edge of magic page 209. he lying he's saying well that's my lineage you know that's that's my spiritual lineage that's what i go back to that's my lineage music is not neutral rock music has always been associated with carnal and and the demonic it has no legitimate place in the christian's life first corinthians 10 21 says you cannot drink the cup of the lord and the cup of devils you cannot partake of the lord's table and of the table of devils do we provoke the lord to jealousy are we stronger than he galatians 5 17 galatians 5 17 says for the flesh lusteth against the spirit the spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one or the other so that you cannot do the things that you would rock music is satan's music the god of rock music is the antichrist satan himself and there's no way around that its history is so riddled with it goes back to that god's people have no business interacting with it they have no business using it for their worship and they have no business listening to it and entertaining themselves with it think of the difference of that and this encamped along the hills of like christian soldiers rise and press the battle there the night shall veil the glowing skies against the foe and veils below let all our strength be heard faith is the victory we know that overcomes the world faith faith is the victory faith is the victory o glorious victory that overcomes the world his banner over us is love our sword the word of god we tread the road the saints above with shouts of triumph trot by faith they like a world when's breath swept on or every field the faith by which they conquer death still our shining silver faith is the victory faith faith is the victory o glorious victory that overcomes the world [Music] on every hand the foe we find drawn up in tread array the tenths of ease be left behind and onward to the fray salvation's helmet on each head with truth all gerd about the earth shall tremble neath our tread and echo with our faith faith is the victory faith faith is the victory o glorious victory that overcomes the world to him who overcomes the full white raiment shall begin before the angels he shall know his name confessed in hell then onward from the hills of light our hearts with love aflame will vanquish all the hosts of night in jesus concrete name faith faith is the victory faith faith is the victory o glorious victory that overcomes the world amen faith is the victory now listen my friend if you are stuck in rock music if you are entertaining yourself on that if you are listening to that you need to repent of that and you need to get some good music you need to get some good music and you need to listen to some hymns and i can direct you to that if you want information about how to find good hymns and all those other things i can show you how to do that but you need to listen to music that honors and glorifies god what do you want to identify with the rock and roll wicked culture of the land why wouldn't you want to put that music aside cast cast that those things aside the sins and and every weight the sin that the soul easily beset us and every weight and run the race clean you got you got to turn from those things you got to get away from that stuff you got to get you got to get away from that rock music the culture that goes along with it it's the world its spirit is of the world now we don't have the spirit of the world we have the spirit of christ amen first corinthians 2 12. now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of god that we might know the things that are freely given to us of god these this word of god this truth this scripture when you have the spirit of christ in you you don't have the spirit of the world greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world and you're never going to grow in the grace and knowledge of our lord and savior jesus christ listening to all that garbage music out there it's counterproductive spiritually it's wicked and god hates it i hope that explains it to you i hope that gives you enough of an understanding of it i hope you can take it and and uh do some more research if you need to i have other videos on it that cover cover it that i've done in years past sermons i've preached on it in years past right that that uh you can learn from and listen to but god help you that you that you turn from that that music and those wicked that wicked music and that wicked lifestyle of rock and roll music just the wickedness of the whole thing it's count it's a different spirit it's another spirit it's not the same it's not scriptural it's the spirit of the world what is the spirit of the world it's the god of this world satan is the god of this world and he is the spirit of this world and that spirit is antichrist and you need to try the spirits whether they're of god and these african voodoo beats and all the things that go along with the rock and roll culture not of god but as of the world and the world passeth away and the lust thereof but he that doeth the will of god abideth forever if you're not saved your soul
