Clavicle Overview
Also known as the collar bone.
Curvy bone located at the base of the neck.

Location

Inferior surface contains landmarks where ligaments attach:
Conoid Tubercle
: Near the acromial end.
Trapezoid Line
: Also located on the acromial end.
Impression for the Costoclavicular Ligament
: Found on the sternal end.
Names of bony prominences correspond to the ligaments attaching at those points.
Functions
Attaches arms to the trunk.
Protects neurovascular structures supplying the arm.
Transfers force from the upper limb to the axial skeleton.
Palpation and Visibility
Easily palpable due to its proximity to the body's surface.
Visible in some individuals.
Clinical Note
Most commonly fractured bone in the body.
