making money like emit play in my eyes like shrimp me condition that I'm coming with the freshness so today we're gonna be installing the max air vent in the van and I'm just gonna quickly show you a few things before I hop on to the roof this is the bracket that they give you I'm just gonna take this up and trace out a template so I know what to cut out I've also pre-made some 1 by twos and Prime them so that I can create like a supporting bracket underneath a lot of people just screw right through the sheetmetal leave the screws that's totally fine I feel better about using this so that the screws have something to suck into and also have some rust preventative paint ready to go and other than that I'll show you everything that you use along the way and also leave everything in this section below but yeah let's get to it [Music] I'm going to tape all around here so that when I'm running the line with jigsaw I'm not scratching the roof so we're ready to start cutting the hole but I took a box that I had and just taped it up to the ceiling just to catch all the metal shavings that are going to come off it'll be a lot easier to clean up so that we don't end up with row spots anywhere [Music] so we just finished the cut I filed down the edges and just kind of made sure that doesn't bit it's a nice tight fit and I'm going to take the pork fifteen and a half and then paint all the edges prevent some rust then we let this dry [Music] so there's our sunroof the next hour I'll wait for the paint to dry all right so our paints dry we're gonna put some butyl tape around this frame and then pop it in [Music] [Music] all right so we have the butyl tape on the frame now when you drop it in you want to make sure that these silver tabs they're on the outside so on the driver side and the passenger side that's where you're gonna screw your fan into all right let's drop it in [Music] all right so I have these 1 by T tubes I was talking about earlier I'm just gonna take some clamps and clamp them into place and then drill some pilot holes in here so I don't split these and then we will screw the frame down and then just do a test fit with the fan [Music] [Music] [Music] so we got the frame all screwed in there basically just hand tight I don't want to take the drill too far because this is just plastic but next we're gonna take the lap seal it and put it around the edges and then over the screws then we'll drop the famine [Music] all right so the fan is dropped in but where you need to screw it's not totally lined up in either of these holes so I'm gonna need to push down while somebody below me is kind of putting some pressure on so I could get these screws in [Music] all right she's in locked and loaded obviously not wired up yet but I will cover that later all right so that brings us to the end of the fan install at least this part of it I will do a separate video and once I get into the electrical stuff to show you how to actually hook this up but I just want to point it out in case you're in a rush black on this is positive the white is negative so don't mess that up or you're gonna blow your fan right out so yeah if you have any questions about this project feel free to leave me a comment below and as always I'll be continuing to post videos throughout my van build so please subscribe if you're interested in thanks for watching [Music]
