[Music] foreign [Music] welcome to another video we just realized that we haven't actually made a video on the Gan smart cubes the new generation ones we've been busy with a lot of projects but today I'm going to show you the Gantt 12 UI and the Mini version so this Cube has been floating around for a while now but just finding it in a store that can actually get it to you is pretty tough but we're lucky uh this summer we were able to stock this so big thank you to again for that and in this video I'll show you how they perform and I'll give you a rundown of the user experience and how it feels to use these cubes these are expensive I'm not gonna hide it this one is 120 bucks and this one's 115 bucks so they are in the triple digits this is based on the Gan 12. that means that it's a top level Speed Cube I really like how companies are beginning to do that because I thought the Gan I3 while the tech was pretty good the cube was kind of limiting and I couldn't really get my best performance on it which kind of made it pointless to practice on it actual good cubers used again 12 so this is a great idea to you know have a Smart Cube alright so let's open it up and let's give it a try for the record I have opened it and connected this Cube already just to test that it works it indeed works the app recognized the cube really really fast so that's pretty cool there's a charging dock some instruction manuals and a pamphlet here there's also a Power Pod you can find on our website so if you're interested in that we'll have a link in the description for you guys it's a little bit heavier than the gen12 because it has Electronics but honestly the Gen 12 is is an extremely light Cube so again 12 with a little heft I would think it's a good thing for a lot of people so foreign this is what it sounds like and feels like it's very firm crispy tactile and I can see something lighting up in inside so I know it's working all right so I'm loading up Cube station as I do that I'll give you some interesting facts about this so again recently had their own competition in China with their smart cubes I was up I guess really early in the morning and I watched the Chinese broadcast it was really cool it felt like it had Esports Vibes and to see Timon and yihang and Felix and Leo all like you know the guys that I normally cheer for in WCA competitions appear in this like alternative Esports Universe was really cool I'm really excited to see what happens to the future of these smart cubes uh it's very clear that again is is a pretty solid event organizer so I'm gonna put the dumb Cube on the side this is the Smart Cube as you can see uh it's already detected by the app if you click match you have multiplayer time try on qualifying so let's do some time trials so this is the thing where you get to do this to load your time trial and then you can start cubing so this cube is absolutely stuck might want to put some lube in it eventually but for now seems good foreign yeah not bad yeah we got a nine okay all right we got this okay so mid nine uh 61 moves 6.4 TBS yeah it's telling me that my cross is really long because I use CZ and I do EO cross uh let me try some c-fop as you guys know C Bob is not my main method but I am not completely incompetent hopefully I'll show you a good one oh shoot don't know Ola okay oh all right I got a nine 56 moves pretty good the cross was five moves now it's telling me that my cross actually makes sense so these splits are actually pretty sensible and I did not do a move well on the PLL and the app is telling me that so it's like definitely these stats are usable when trying to assess your performance but you know as a slightly more experienced cuber I already know like I paused there in the uh oh shoot I just like didn't solve that last pair I wonder what'll happen ah yes yes yes it basically it didn't detect that I solved the cross so it said my cross was 38 moves oh okay I'm trolling I feel like the cube is too fast I'm gonna put some lube in it I have some fzcom over here shout outs to f z so this Lube is pretty safe on Smart cubes because it has no water okay this is so much better okay I'm gonna switch to ZZ do one more solve and then we'll uh play with the other parts of the app I like how if you miss scramble the screen will flash red it's like I don't know if you guys played like FPS games where like you get shot and then like it just like flashes red it's like oh I got I miscrambled okay all right so that's time trial this has been the same uh so there's qualifying solo okay so I think this is like a 1v1 thing where you can rank up last time I played this I was in like wood division or something stupid so I don't know if Ethan is a bot or an actual person so if you are Ethan and you are racing on Gan around like 11 o'clock Eastern time here you know shout outs to Ethan uh I am like totally distracting myself but I don't think we'll lose to Ethan I have a feeling it's about okay so he's solving looks like it's lbl so next time we race against any person we'll pay attention to what they're doing so like this person solved the cross wrong and they corrected it uh so we won cool so here you actually have to tap the screen I guess to continue you can't do The UU Prime thing thank you 6.2 49 moves 7.8 TPS that's a lot of TPS for me like I don't usually turn that fast I'm really excited so so far I haven't had any trouble with this Cube oh there's Ryan okay yeah no trouble no syncing problems the performance of the cube is good I don't think I would have gotten the six on again I3 also a heads up I'm sure you guys know this but the cube detects your turns as soon as you start making them so you can start with the cube in your hands so you know as as cool as the experience is it's not really a substitute for using a stack mat timer so just keep in mind there is a difference and that six that I got earlier will probably be a high six uh using a stack mat uh Advanced one oh my goodness I don't know what what other games use tiers that like go up so like I know in League the number after your division the higher it is the worse you are so like gold one is better than gold four Sarah yeah yeah so it's like alternating between like boys and girls yeah there are a lot of bots here I I wonder it could also be a time difference because like this is like pretty late at night in Asia where this cube is like probably more popular at least now so there's some broken English here I noticed it said peak about two or something definitely the app isn't perfect but all the things that you need to use seem like they work foreign yeah not too bad I imagine like the higher ranked you are the more you'll Race Against actual cubers because these are all like lbl Bots and I kind of understand if they do that to give you like a confidence boost that you're winning I encourage you to want to play more but I don't get that much out of defeating like Hannah and Aiden so we're gonna move on here oh Advanced two oh my God I'm gonna text my mom so competition College challenge police day okay I haven't been in college in more than 10 years this is some competition that they need to open up before anything happens so then there's the academy so the yellow Center and there's like you find the so this is like a daisy tutorial and then there's some question mark here I want to learn something there okay training okay let's see timer okay my EO cross was only 11 moves that's not too bad oh hold on oh it has C5 lbl and Rue no ZZ knows easy okay all right thanks guys final comments on this Cube I think it's great uh we've been playing on it for an hour it's lost one percent of its battery life so it was at 76 when I connected it this morning and it says I'm at 75 now yeah this is definitely a good choice if you want the best Smart Cube okay 12. oh he's so cute oh oh he's he's a small boy he's a little fella all right oh connect so we just saw sync wow that was so fast wait which ones are connected to oh it's still connected to this one what if I just disconnected it okay no I got it I got it I got it I was connected to two cubes at once okay all right this is the first solve on this Cube um the size makes it kind of difficult to uh handle like yes but the proportions are weird I can't grab it as easily I think like if I did like 10 more solves I'd get used to it but right now I'm like getting twelves it's it's not great oh my hand went in there to try to hit the timer okay so that was a seven but the last layer was like four moves so I could have counted a lot of moves there okay that I'm surprised that was a nine okay so my sort of opinion on this is that it's too small if you are a small child then I think this would be good I am going to disconnect this we'll do some more solves on this while we talk about our final opinions so the can 12 UI is a very good Smart Cube yeah it's I think it's the best smart keep on the market the user experience is mostly good this Cube Station app has existed for a long time Gan has hosted pretty much all its smart cubes on it so this app had a long time to develop and to maintain which I think helps with the overall user experience now there's like obviously there's an elephant in the room the elephant in the room is that moyu has a new Smart Cube as well it's extremely cheap I think the price is like in the 20s and so the question is which Smart Cube product is better I think as of now I think the Gan is better because the app is actually functional I encounter trouble registering an account on the mo you app and in the end I didn't accomplish that there there's no English version so if you don't read Chinese it's pretty tough to navigate the app I feel like if they're going to launch this product globally they should at least translate all the essential things to English like how to log in and create an account but yeah there's just no support for non-chinese speakers and so the products the moyu Smart Cube we consider very unpolished compared to the Gan this is very very polished if this Cube continues to perform well with no problems it has excellent battery life if this product continues to work well I consider it reasonable for the price the mini I don't really like I can see why they made it there could be very young kids getting into the Hobby and smart cubes could be a thing that they're interested in but as an adult I couldn't physically you know get my hands around the really thin Edge pieces looks like the core and the center is the same size and everything else was just like kind of shrunk in there so couldn't hold it very well but this is an excellent Cube it's based on again 12. again 12 health is world record Cube I think the game 12 UI is a great product if you don't have the money don't feel like you have to force yourself to get it because there are tons of ways to practice cubing like solving on a regular Cube but if you have the money and you're interested this is a very polished product everything works and it feels great I wouldn't do the mini unless you're sure you like a smaller Cube or if you're really young and you have smaller hands so yeah that's about it we'll have links in the description for you guys to check out the products if you're interested there you can see more photos get a link
