here are the 11 forbidden sex acts in the Bible number one fornication 1 Corinthians 6:9 do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God do not be deceived neither fornicators we're going to talk about that nor idolators nor adulterers nor homosexuals nor sodomites nor thieves nor Covetous nor drunkers nor revilers nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God quite a list there and some of you would put these together and call it a weekend uh right I'm a drunken sodomite fornicating okay um welcome to Old Town and so um and so here fornicat what does fornicator mean I didn't know this I I'll be honest with you the first word study I did in the whole Bible I'll tell you the story I'm just going to verbal process this one uh so I'm sitting in a church as a brand new Christian in college and the pastor gets up he does a bible study on fornication and fornicating and fornicating I had no idea what that meant and so um it sounded like he was saying don't sleep with your girlfriend I was like surely that can't be what he means and so it was a small church and uh so I called him up and uh Grace and I were dating and I I just was a brand new Christian and so I wanted to see if maybe we were fornicating so I called the pastor I said it's a really good sermon I uh I'm worried about a friend of mine I I think they're fornicating I didn't tell them it was Grace okay and he says yeah fornicating is sleeping with someone you're not married to you're you're dating them I was like well isn't this like running an intersection I mean you're already in the middle it wouldn't it be dangerous to hit the brakes and back up we should my friend should probably just keep going he said no no they need to hit the brakes and stop they can't sleep together they're done if they're Christians I was like for sure he's like yeah y I was like okay I call Grace I said honey we've been fornicated she's like yeah I know I was like oh I didn't I didn't know okay so fornication for those of you who are single it's sex before or outside of marriage when you're single okay and for me and for us this was our sin we failed we were violating God's commands so we had to repent we had to forgive each other we needed God to forgive us Jesus died for it we stopped doing that and then we got married sometime a couple years later and as a result by God's grace we've been Faithfully married for more than 30 years but it was bringing ourselves under the authority of God's word otherwise if we would have violated that sexual sin and command I am assuring you that we would have violated other sexual sins and commands and we would have broken our marriage furthermore for those of you who are single I'll say this to the men if you're sleeping with a girl and you have not married her you do not love her you are using her and she does not respect you and you have abdicated Spiritual Authority in the relationship because what you can't do is say I studying the Bible and praying and I feel like God wants us to do this she's like you don't listen to God and if you're not going to follow him I'm not going to follow you and that sets in pattern for a marriage a really broken situation so you can heal that by repenting number two adultery you shall not commit adultery and then Jesus goes further in Matthew 5 and he says you have heard that it is said You shall not commit adultery he quotes one of the Ten Commandments but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with Lust For Her has already committed adultery with her in his heart so adultery is two forms it's with your hand but it starts in your heart in your heart you're you're you're thinking things you shouldn't be thinking you're revisiting um Temptations you shouldn't be revisiting and so once you are married let me ask you this probably another question uh once you are married are you allowed to have sex with anyone other than your spouse no no it's a sin it's a sin now if you have done that um there is forgiveness in Jesus Christ and there can be the rebuilding of trust in the relationship but for those of you who have not done this please don't do this I've never met anyone who did this and didn't regret it everyone I've ever spoken to said at the time it seemed like it would be enjoyable and it's brought the biggest pain and the largest grief into my life in addition polygamy now this is getting popular again they got those weirdo television shows and we are surrounded by some hill country that has some outlandish eccentric Mormons I don't know if we need to use all those words anyways um and they still practice polygamy one of the reasons that there are so many Mormons in Arizona just verbal process so in Utah if the older men marry all the younger women there are not enough women to marry for the younger men so those men moved to Arizona they called it the bridal Trail cuz there were the old guys took all the gals is polygamy a good idea no polygamy is like getting divorced but still living together with your previous wife and your new wife it's a terrible idea polygamy starts and what we're starting to see now is all these shows on TV Sister Wives and polygamy and swingers they're trying to normalize it question do they end well is there a polygamous couple that's like oh my gosh better and better every day is better and better no jealousy no favoritism we love it when he sleeps with all of us it just never ends that way polygamy starts with a guy named lamech you know he's a bad dude when his name is lame his name is lamech he's in Genesis uh two Genesis 2:24 says this a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife and the two become one so how many are in a marriage covenant two not three or more just two and it's a man and a woman so marriages one man one woman in Covenant with God consummated with each other the guy who initiates um polygamy his name is lamech and it says he took two wives for himself Genesis 4 he's an evil Godless man and it does not go well polygamy was never part of God's Divine Design furthermore every time polygamy happens it ends badly you can just read Genesis every time some guy takes two wives there's division factions favoritism the kids have all kinds of intrigue it ends up being a total disaster here's what I'm telling you our culture is pressing very very diligently to legalize polygamy okay we've already gotten rid of male and female we've gotten rid of marriage for a man and a woman the next two dominoes to fall will be polygamy and age of consent because our culture doesn't do sexual sanity and it doesn't do self-control so it's going to push polygamy and then it's going to push down age of consent but as God's people we believe in the word of God so we hold the standard in line and we know that when people try and move the standard it always goes south closer to hell and the goal of moving the line is eventually to remove all lines which is just anarch which leads to death in the New Testament a church leader an overseer then 1 Timothy 3 must be above approach the husband of one wife one wife see if I had two wives I couldn't even be your pastor because my wife would kill me right but see the the uh amen so her name's Grace but don't let the name fool you okay uh she got a little old Covenant or that girl I'll tell you that right now she's Justice girl but that means that the leader of the church needs to set an example for the men in the church and their marriage needs to set an example for the marriages in the church it doesn't mean that we're perfect but it means that we try to honor God repent when we fall short and stay faithful to one another to set a hopeful example that's right how about this one uh rape uh number four Genesis 34 I'll just summarize the story the first rape in the Bible and the Bible's the most honest book ever written it's a horrifying account of a young woman named Dina she's sexually assaulted it is a and it says that uh she was defiled uh that what was done to her was was defiling and shameful and even in saying that I can just sense in the room some of you have suffered this kind of sexual trauma either as a child or an adult and in a in a culture that has really no guardrails for sexual behavior what you end up with is a lot of sexualized victims it's devastating and so it's so bad in Genesis 34 um because Dina is raped and her dad is passive he's passive he doesn't say or do anything to defend his own daughter so what do the brothers do if you know the story they go into the town where the people that are part of the group that raped their daughter live and they slaughter every single man in town okay I'm not saying it's right just saying that's what it says okay okay okay and let let me say this um if you have had sexual assault rape or trauma you need to heal you need to heal from that and you're probably going to need a a Christian professional and you're going to need some wise counsel and you're going to need a a process and I just feel inclined in the spirit to say this I didn't mean for it to get so serious at a Valentine's Day night but often times people like well that's in the past no it's not it's not in the past until you bury it you're dragging it with you until you buried it with Jesus Grace and I were married uh how long were we married babe when 12 years just uh she just had our fifth child and I found out that my wife was a sexual assault victim before we met I didn't know that and I just burst into tears like oh I didn't know that and it explains some distance in our marriage and in our relationship so we had to she she got help and I needed to learn okay what happens to trauma and neural Pathways and brain science and disassociation and all of a sudden I'm trying to be someone who understands what happens to someone who's experienced this uh but just know this we live in a day when college campuses are basically rape culture just give alcohol to women until they pass out and then they wake up and they wonder what happened the the the entire feminist movement of teaching women that they should be treated by men like men is the most horrifying thing I could think of no woman should be treated like a man a woman should be treated like a woman and a man should protect and defend a woman not take advantage of her all right next number five incest 1 Corinthians 5 it is actually reported that there is sexual imorality among you this is in the church let me just set this up too let me set this up so Corinthians is there's a wild church called Corinth right wild like it's like Vegas right like it's wild and they're all new Christians and they're just nauy they got wild so they send Paul all these questions what about this so Paul actually writes letter back okay the first letter we don't even have cuz Paul says in First Corinthians in my former letter like we're in first he was probably so fried it probably wasn't inspired by the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit was like we got to lose that one that one that one wasn't so good Paul was pretty upset so they ask him a qu here's the question cuz they can't answer it can that dude sleep with his stepmom you would think they'd be able to settle that among themselves perhaps like we got to call in an expert the the vote was play listen right toward sexual activity among Blended families much older and younger people who are related there's an entire growing Trend within the porn industry and within in quite frankly celebrity culture that wants to cross these taboo lines of appropriateness and sometimes it's biological but sometimes it's it's adopted like well that's that's my stepmom or that's my my stepson in this case and among God's people here's what you need to know if you and I stop obeying God's word we could be in church and still absolutely corrupt in our mind and perverted in our behavior and sometimes people that are the most confused are in the church we tend to think all the naughty people are out there well guess what we've all got our Temptation and struggles and sins this letter is written to the church and somebody in the church is doing this right true or false this is an entire growing aspect that seems to be more and more acceptable within our culture this is this is where is God people we've got to say hey we're for sex within marriage but God did put some guard rails and they need to be maintained and preserved okay let let me ask you next one how about homosexuality okay three people are like no the rest are like you don't know like what church do you go to I mean what okay here's what it says um Romans 1:26-27 God gave them up to dishonor passion is not dishonorable but some passions are dishonorable for their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to Nature that's lesbianism and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another that's homosexuality men committing Shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error is sex with someone of the same sex and gender acceptable to God no are we the only ones left to believe that it's just us like the whole world is just gone I I'm I'm 54 when I was born in uh 1970 um homosexuality was listed in the DSM the diagnostic statistical Manual of mental health disorders as a mental health disorder when I was born today it's a month it's a month this is so those of you who are younger you're born into a world that's lost its mind am you're born into a world where what is natural is abhorent you're born into a world where the things that you're encouraged to do will get you Cuts in the line to hell and where we're at in Western culture is all decency is gone and the only thing that is holding back the flood of total judgment like the days of Noah are people who believe the Bible and hold the lines that God draws okay and this is one of them so people ask well what if you have homosexual desires well then you're going to live a celibate lifestyle they're like what no sex you worship a virgin you'll be fine Jesus never had sex and he's the perfect human being and he lived the perfect life and what's more important than sex is your salvation okay how about this one um hopefully we don't have to take a long time on this one uh number seven beastiality uh but okay I'll just read the verse we'll go on uh Deuteronomy 27:21 cursed be anyone who lies with any kind of animal all the people shall say Amen okay moving right along number eight uh number eight is probably a little less obvious prostitution 1 Corinthians 6:1 15-20 do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ your body belongs to God you're supposed to offer your body as a Living Sacrifice holy and pleasing and worship to God it's so says shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute answer never or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her first is written the two will become one flesh quotes Genesis but he who has joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him flee from sexual immorality every other sin a person commits is outside the body but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you whom you have from God are you not you are not your own you were bought with a price glorify God with your body prostitution would include hiring somebody for sex let's just do this I won't answer all the questions I'll ask you the questions because I know you want to participate um what about going to a strip club does that count as prostitution yeah it does what about if you make a lot of money and you're a single guy so you move a gal in Who's down on her luck and you expect her to do some things for you to pay the rent is that prostitution yeah what about signing up for an only fan subscription yeah okay these things all count and what it is it's not covenantal it's transactional marriage is covenantal not transactional in a covenant we love and serve one another in a transactional relationship I pay for goods and services and and God says no no no that's not how we do that's not how we do marriage and sex and intimacy it's not transactional it's covenantal it's not something where you get what you pay for you love and serve each other because that's how Jesus Christ has treated you he's loved and served you um how about this one Pagan sexual activity number nine I taught this series a while ago it's on uh Elijah Ahab and Jezebel But First Kings 16:31 through3 he King Ahab this passive evil King took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethel that's literally the worship of the demon god Baal King of the sidonians a pagan people went and served Baal that's a demon god and worshiped him he erected an altar entertainment Andor pornography Andor what the culture considers beautiful sexuality is at its core very demonic it's very demonic because when when we're having intimacy we're either inviting the Holy Spirit to make us one or we're inviting Unholy spirits and and some of you need to know that your addiction it is spiritual it's not just physical some of you need to know that your temptation is spiritual not just physical and sometimes it is weird Cults and strange ideologies and bizarre philosophies that include sexuality because it's a demonic foothold and so for God's people we repent of that and we resist that and we say no I love God he wrote a book I'm going to have sex the way he says and I'm not going to violate What He commands and I don't want any demons in my bedroom how about next two um you ready transgenderism does the Bible have anything to say about that it does entire Generations entire emerging younger Generations they are being brainwashed and evangelized toward confusion and mutilation it is absolutely fully demonic reprehensible and shocking it just is we're taking an entire younger generation that has mental health issues or maybe underlying issues like autism maybe they've had trauma or maybe they're just confused maybe they're spending too much time online and as a result they have anxiety and mental health and we are now evangelizing them and we are trying to convert them to be something other than God intends for them and how we created them and we're telling them that their creator made a mistake and they need to recreate their own body it's one of the most devastating things I've seen in my entire lifetime and to call it care you know and I just here's what it says Genesis 1 and then Jesus quotes it mail and female there are two genders male and female marriages for man and a woman period sex is for marriage only Deuteronomy 225 a woman shall not wear a man's garment nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak forever does these things an abomination of the Lord your God there's a reason that Grace wore wedges and I didn't cuz they're uncomfortable Deuteronomy 231 not one whose male organ is cut off gets to enter into the assembly of the Lord you cut it off you get cut off just thought about that that's quite a consequence you're like I and you know so like who's checking this at church I'm just thinking about this like he like this is weird like if you're if you're a guy who cuts your junk off you don't get to go to church anymore that's what happened to Tony you know is he coming back no he's not do you see how God takes seriously though his people living according to their Divine Design sex and gender okay this is where at the end of uh 1 Corinthians uh Paul says act like a man because there are men they should act like men because they're a man our culture doesn't understand this but here's what God is doing God is taking an entire emerging younger generation of men and they're becoming conservative and heterosexual and they want to get married and have children now they don't know Jesus yet but they're going the right direction and ultimately the only thing in the entire world that is going to tell them what they're wanting to learn is the word of God so I'm praying for Revival among young men who are aspiring to keep their bodies intact and marry a woman and have a child and and get a job okay um how about this one uh sexual immorality so before we throw the slide let me explain this to you so as you go through the list of things that the Bible says can't do that can't do that can't do that can't do that there's always somebody like didn't get mine I got a thing that didn't make the list so guess what God does he puts together a category of Etc miscellaneous CU he knew that there'd be some weirdo like I'm going to make a robot you know God's like robot okay so the word that is sort of a general category it's an Etc it's a miscellaneous category is a Greek word called pora okay what does that sound like porn it's the same word for pornography and so it says this I'll give you a couple examples 2 Corinthians 12:21 I may have to mourn over many of those who sinned earlier and have not repented so when we sin we need to repent that means we change our Behavior we change our mind we regret that we have sinned against God we're asking him for forgiveness and we're covenanting to stop the behavior God does love to forgive and he will help but he got to repent sexual immorality that's pora and sensuality that they have practiced PA says this in Galatians 5 now the works of the flesh this is contradictory to the works of the spirit are evident the first one sexual immorality how do you know you're in the flesh not the spirit sexuality then he goes on talk about impurity sensuality idolatry sorcery enity Strife jealousy fits of anger orgies drunkenness and he says you don't make it into the kingdom of God if that's your resume Colossians 3:5 put to what death so guys you need to know this that you're going to have a fight to the death over certain Temptations and you can't wound it you got to kill it put to death therefore what is Earthly in you sexual immorality there's the word impurity passion evil desire covetousness which is idolatry so pornea would include the other things that didn't make the L right would include pornography it would include um it would include a work spouse which is adultery of the heart it would include anything else that the Holy Spirit convicts because it violates the commands or
