Day 21 - Functional Medicine Detox

whoo congratulations you made it today is day 21 of your total body and mind reset of your functional medicine detox and be proud of yourself be proud of yourself because not many people have this level of commitment to their health and you did it you made it to day 21 so congratulations be proud and this is what success feels like I know by now after 21 days of following the functional medicine detox whichever method you chose whether it was the exact method laid out in the handy guide or whether you did the days three through seven meal plan on all the days whatever you did is okay this time because you were committed and you made it to the end so that is amazing so today I want to talk about how not to read talks after the detox that's right because we can backslide we can slip back into our old habits our old ways of being and I don't want that for you I want you to continue your new ways of being I want you to continue your new healthy habits and we're going to talk about that so what you can do is replace that morning shake with a morning smoothie that's right if you haven't got our smoothie guide yet get over to the website and download it it's amazing and you can replace your morning shake with that morning smoothie like I said and however you're also going to be adding in two scoops of your daily nutritional support in that morning smoothie you can also add in a scoop of the daily foundational fruit and vegetable blend in there so you're getting your 21 organic fruits and vegetables each and every day those are great options to put into your morning smoothie with your favorite fruits or or whatever you can improvise you can make your own recipes and share them with the community we'd love to see some new recipes and add them into our very popular smoothie guide next you're going to continue with that vegetarian lunch that's right you're going to continue doing that with some plant protein don't miss that plant protein that is so important and if you feel as though you need more protein in the morning you know maybe you're getting food cravings at night after dinner that means that your body hasn't had enough protein in the morning it's a survival mechanism of the body not to repeat that cycle again the next morning so you can always add something like hemp hearts or mung bean sprouts into your morning smoothie in the morning to get a little bit extra protein and we can continue doing that paleo dinner right your paleo dinner with your meat protein at night or you can certainly stay on the vegan or vegetarian side as long as you're getting enough protein but stay with that paleo dinner we want to keep spacing of our meals with three and a half to four hours between meals now if you're the type of person that's trying to gain weight then you can certainly add in an afternoon smoothie uh or you can bring in some starches some healthy starches like baked sweet potato or maybe some Yucca or some yams or something along those lines with a healthy starch to bring on a little bit more weight but if you are looking to maintain weight or lose weight then certainly avoid those starches but keeping three and a half to four hours in between your meals will keep your blood sugar balanced that is a healthy habit make sure that your last meal of the day your final meal is at least two to three hours before you go to sleep to let that blood sugar calm down to before you go to sleep at night that's going to give you a better night's sleep you want to make sure you're getting your seven to nine cups of fruits and vegetables each and every day that is so important for those antioxidants and your vitamins and your minerals along with your daily nutritional support powder along with your fruit and vegetable blend you want to be getting in plenty of fruits and vegetables as a whole food during the course of your day especially in your smoothie that's an easy way to get at least two to three cups of fruit and some vegetables you can put in there as well into your smoothie I love putting cucumber in my smoothie leafy greens and my smoothie some you know maybe some lettuce or some spinach or some kale or some bok choy wonderful wonderful ways to get some leafy greens into my smoothie and then of course all the berries and the fruits and banana wonderful way to get the nutrients into your body next make sure that after that last meal you're going to two to three hours before bed and when you're going to sleep you're getting your seven to nine hours of restorative sleep that is amazing to keep your body in Peak Performance and continue the healthy habits that you did on your 21 day functional medicine detox so you may be wondering what are my next steps your next steps could be something as easy as running a functional medicine lab done at home with yours truly as your personal health coach and your Integrative Health practitioner level two we can certainly do maybe the big five package where we look at the most amount of information on what's going on inside your body if that's not within your means perhaps the starter kit is where it's at with the candida metabolic and vitamins test and the minerals and metals tests we get the most amount of information with just two labs and if that's you know still beyond what you want to do we can certainly help you with a single lab as well when you
