I have been working to acquire a Ferrari F40 my entire life. It is my ultimate dream car. The one I have talked about for years. It wasn't my time yet for the F40, but I promise you guys, I'm working on it. It's rare. It's raw. It's dangerous. It's the last Ferrari that Enzo himself signed off on. And for me, it's more than just a car. It's the one. And somehow somehow I have found one for sale on Craigslist. I found some wild stuff on Craigslist. I even found my 1969 Camaro Sopia on Craigslist. But this might be the rarest post I've ever seen. So what did I do? Hello, this is Tom. I'm calling about the Ferrari F40 on Craigslist. Is it real? I called the sketchy phone number in the bio and some guy answered and said yes, there was a Ferrari F40 for sale and fortunately it's not too far of a drive. Most people would think that this was a scam and so did I. I mean $5 million asking price that's almost double than what Ferrari F40s are going for, but I guess everyone's got some sort of unrealistic expectation. It's absolutely real. It's the cleanest Ferrari you'll ever see. It's absolutely stunning example. So today we're driving out to see if this unicorn is real. And if it is, I'm bringing a very real offer to the table. But I need to look like a serious buyer, right? So I'm bringing my widebody Ferrari 458 to show I'm serious. I even have my little Ferrari hat and a Ferrari thermos. I would have had a whole Ferrari tracksuit, too, but uh I just landed from Italy literally last night. and I'm on a few hours of sleep. I'm super jet-lagged and my prop department failed me. This might be the most expensive Craigslist meetup in history. So, let's go see if this is real or just another Craigslist scam. Hello, this is Tom. Hi, Tom. I'm calling about the Ferrari F40 on Craigslist. What can I tell you about it? Is it real? It's absolutely real. Okay. Absolutely. Can I Can I come see it? Sure. It's the cleanest Ferrari you'll ever see. It's absolutely stunning example. Okay. Have you had a lot of offers on the car already? I'm working several deals right now. It's a interesting It's a It's a sale through federal court. So, I do have a lot of interested parties and I'm working through, you know, contracts with them right now. Okay. Well, yeah. I was I saw a listing for a Ferrari for $5 million and I had called this number and I didn't expect anyone to answer the phone, but this sounds legit. If if you're okay with it, I' I'd love to come see it. I sure had to do some pretty disruptive marketing. You know, I've only got three and a half weeks to sell a $3 million car, so I decided to try the Craigslist avenue. Why not? No, that's perfect. for the amount of coverage that you can get for the amount of dollars that you spend. There's nothing like it in the world. Amazing. Okay, thank you. I'll I'll see you in a little bit. Let's go look at an F40. Check out my new work boots. The Brunt 6in Marin boots. They're not just comfortable, they're built to last. waterproof construction, barnyard resistant leather, slip and oil resistant soles, and they hold up to heat up to 572 degrees. I just started wearing these at the shop and they keep showing up. These are easily the most comfortable boot I've ever put on and I feel confident saying that. Feels like I'm walking on pillows. Straight out of the box, they already felt broken in. No sore feet, no stiffness, no weird squeaking noises by the end of the day. Just straight up comfort. They've got this cushion footed inside that gives you actual support without feeling bulky and they're breathable, which matters more than most people realize when you're on your feet all day. But here's the part that really sealed it for me. Run isn't some massive corporation. It was started by a guy named Eric who grew up doing roofing and landscaping with his buddies. His best friends are still in the trades and he built Brunt for them, for all the people out there actually doing the hard work. That's the kind of company I want to support. One that gets it. One that's building real gear for real work and doing it with pride. And this isn't just a pair of boots that you put on. You have to walk on the carpet so you don't scuff them before you can return them. They actually want you to wear the boots that you buy on the job. Wear them out and see how comfortable they are. If they're not comfortable, send them back. They will accept them. And right now you can get 10 bucks off your first pair with my code. It's on the screen now. Link is in the description below. Try them for yourself. I think you'll get why I've become such a fan and you're going to see me wearing these in videos more often. Honestly, thank you Brunt for sponsoring today's episode. I'm loving these boots. But let's get back to it. If all goes well, we're coming home with an afforded voice. Could you imagine this is just a Fiero with a body kit? That's something I listed on Craigslist. I have no idea if this is a real important or not. Usually your manager Sean, but today your bodyguard Sean cuz I don't know what we're about to walk into right now. You go missing. I'll let everybody know. Just report you gone. Sir, I think we need to Google what a bodyguard's job is. Wait, what's the lowest you think this guy will take? He said it was court ordered. So, in theory, it's by the time they have to sell, it's whatever the highest bid is, right? So, they have three and a half weeks to sell this car. They listed it for $5 million. On the phone, he said $3 million. But he said marketing tactic, so he's smart. He put it on Craigslist for an absurd amount knowing it would get attention. That's kind of smart. It got attention. I'm showing up right now and about a million people are about to be aware of this F40 as well. So, uh I might have just shot myself in the foot with any uh just don't post a video till after the 3 weeks are up. Your puppies in the back for Raptor. I think they like the Ferrari. Tom, the broker for the F40, wouldn't even give me an address of where the F40 is located. Okay, I realize this is sounding sketchier and sketchier. It It seems legit. He gave me the address to a gas station for to me to meet him at so that he could then take me to the car. All right, let's look for a red SL550. I don't see a red SL 550. Hello. Hello. I'm here at the gas station. Oh, okay. I'll come to you. Uh I was just I'm right on the corner in the shade. Okay. I didn't see where the U-turn or the turn left thing was. It just took me straight here. Okay. Okay. That's okay. I'll be there in 20 seconds. By the way, see you soon, mate. That looks like a red SL 550 to me. To see somewhere in the Ferrari. Yeah, he knows it's us. Hello. How are you? Good. How are you? How's it going? Amelia. Hi. Nice to meet you, Tom. Likewise. Nice to meet you. Hey, how you doing? I'm Tom. Hey, good to meet you. Nice to meet you. Are we filming right now? Yeah. Okay, cool. Follow me. It's about 14 minutes from here. Okay, cool. Is there anything to know about the car before we get there, or should we just drive on over there? It's perfect. It's perfect. It's all action. Okay. Well, then I'll follow you. Yeah. Straight to business. Yeah. Right. All right. Out of respect to this family's privacy, I'm not going to film driving there. So, let's just show up to this top secret location where the F40 is. Oh. Oh, what the I was not expecting that to be sitting right there when we pulled around the corner. Deliver. Oh my god. Like dominoes. 20 minute delivery. Oh my god. This Okay, now that I thought you were bullshitting at all, but I I agree. This might be the cleanest F40 I've ever seen in my entire life. What did I tell you? Oh my god, this is beautiful. The red is so vibrant and clean. The front lip really looks immaculate. The the condition of everything. Oh my god, that looks brand freaking new. Right off the lot, 1990. Okay, so I got to ask I got to ask, okay, how many miles are on this? 7,430. It's a US spec car. Is this the first owner? No. This is the fifth owner. The fifth owner. So, it has been uh obviously owned by several people who, you know, care about it. Yeah. Yeah. So, the current owner that I'm selling it for uh is uh owned it for about 5 years. They've driven it. I think I'd have to look at the math, but it's like 150 200 miles total. Wow. In 5 years. So, uh, perfect Carfax, perfect auto check. The Nvidas checks out on the titling. It all matches. The mileage all matches. Unmodified, undamaged. You'd be hardressed anywhere in the world, you know, to find a car like this. Now, I know everyone is wondering why is it being sold, but out of respect or privacy to the owner, we're not saying why, but you can at least answer why you listed it on Craigslist for $5 million. Yeah, sure. So, I had to get a bit disruptive in my marketing. Okay. I mean, I only had I've only got three and a half weeks to sell this car. Okay. So, yeah. Normally, would I have taken a little slower approach with a car like this? Absolutely, I would have. But I don't have a choice. The judge has given me until August 12th at 1 p.m. No matter what, three and a half weeks, whatever the highest offer is, will be owned by someone else at 1:30, 1:45 p.m. on August 12th. And mark my words, my buyer will be brought in off of Craigslist. Mark my words, dude. Craigslist is slept on. I mean, that's that's how I'm seeing this now. Have you had other people come to see the car in person? I have. Yeah. Yeah. How many people have seen it already? A couple people in person, but I've shot some 4K 60 frame video, like long videos that I've sent. And uh yeah, you know, I can't talk too much about what's going to happen on August 12th, but let's just say the have some offers already. Yes. Let's just say this car will be going away at a very substantial value. Okay. Can we say do you feel comfortable saying what the highest bid is right now for it or I can't. Okay, that's fine. I can't. Well, actually, you know what? I can because it's at 26. Okay. So, all all the over bidders uh above the stocking horse bid which was placed by RM Southern which is 2,555,000. All the over bidders agree to the same contract value which is 2.6 six. Except when the bell rings at 1:00 p.m., things are going to get spicy, right? Guaranteed. Oh, looking at this. Yeah, absolutely. And the thing about these is they just keep going up in value, you guys. Every time I get close to buying one, the price just goes up. And don't worry, I'm going to make an offer today. You can go tell me to play and f myself after my offer, but I'm not going to do that. This is Oh my god, this looks so cherry in It's a California car. It's California titled, so no rust, dead clean. Never drove in the snow, you know, and it's US spec. And it can pass, you know, California mission. So you can drive this on the street. Yeah. In California. I don't think it's going to end up in California, but if it did, you could drive it in California, no problem. So for maintenance records, was it was it one dealership who always maintained it, or how did that work? Well, it was it was gone through by Newport Ferrari in and don't quote me because I don't have the dock in front of me, but it was about five years ago when they bought it. Okay. And it was fully serviced and delivered to them. They've only So, this was bought from a Ferrari dealership out of Newport. Correct. Okay. Yeah. Newport Ferrari. And it's it's only been driven, and again, I'd have to do the math, but it's like 150 or 200 miles in 5 years. Wow. So, they run it like once a month for a mile or two. You know, we we're on these back roads here. They just get it out and run it, you know, warm it up and uh and then put it back away. And not that I'm an F40 expert, but I'd like to say self-proclaimed. And I do know with these cars, you want to constantly be letting them get up to temp. You can't let them sit. They don't like that. I may be self-proclaimed expert, but do you mind if I FaceTime of a a friend of mine who could be interested? Go ahead. Okay. Now, the thing about Bill always answers my phone calls. [Music] Hello. Hi. Did you see the F40 that was listed on Craigslist? I did. I'm standing. You're kidding. I haven't bought it, but I'm here with the car right now. Oh my good. That's insane. It is so clean, Bill. That's insane, honey. That's beautiful. I know. I know. No, you're you're stepping it up, kid. Listen, I I don't know if I'm gonna be the highest bidder on this one, but I had to come see it and I had to FaceTime you and show you. Oh, it's beautiful. And then we'll we'll ink the deal that we get to rip it together. All right, honey. Cool. I'll talk to you later. I'm going to bring I'm going to bring this turd to you soon. You There's the beast. All right. Enjoy your weekend. I'll talk to you later. All right, sweetheart. Take care. Bye. Can we open it up? Do you mind? I just love how it looks. Let's clamshell this thing. Let's do it. I'm scared to like hurt it. I don't want to. Yeah. Just be careful. I'll let you do it. Slow up. I feel bad just getting my fingerprints on this. It's okay. Okay. Italians, man. I think Bill would say the same thing. Nice and slow. There you go. There she is. That was cool. That was a bucket list thing. 78 horsepower. Pop the hatch on an F40. I've always wanted to build an exhaust for one of these and I would powder coat it white and it would look so good. There she is. Twin turbo V8. Come forward and then just let it rest on this cable. Nice and slow. It's kind of a gimbal. It's all right. You're all right. There you go. Wow. It's so cool how lightweight everything is. Like tiny little cable and then the back's just like a rod. I know. It's everything's weight. Weight reduction at all times. Full Ferrari tool kit. It says Ferrari and all the wrenches. Oh, isn't that so cool? Isn't that cool? Says Ferrari here. Oh, that is so funny. There's no 10 mm wrench in here. Look at this. Come take a look. It's the one wrench that's missing. It goes 8 9 11 13 14 It's missing. I think maybe it just doesn't come with it. Right. Yeah. Right. Or they or the previous owner took the Scadoni. Shidoni. I always mess that up. The leather the leather company. I think it's Scadoni that makes all the leather for Ferrari. So, wow. There's the books. This is so cool. And it's awesome that they kept everything, too. Everything. So, this is an F40 service manual. How to fill your gas, how to open the bonnet. I can only imagine what that just that book would cost online if you could find one. Oh, yeah. Yeah. If you can find one. Yeah. It'd be in the thousands of dollars for that book. I'm just curious. Do they show you how to work on the car or is it like don't drink the battery acid? They probably don't want you near the car. Yeah. Leave it to us, please. Oh my god. Can I fire it? Yeah. Okay. I know I've driven an F40 before, but there's something so magical about these cars that like every time you get in it, get in one, it feels like the first time that you get to experience it. There's just literally the F40s are just magical. And I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous, but this is something else. You guys, should we block the front wheel just to chalk it? I will get in front of you in the wall. I will I'll go to urgent care for this car. Okay. [Music] Oh my god, that fired right up. Gated. Oh, crisp shifts. Goes into gear. I know this beeping is annoying. Let me close this door. That fired up like not even a hesitation. It was beeping at me, so I wanted to shut it. This is amazing. I can't rev it cuz it's cold. I don't want to rev it cold. This is so cool that they're letting me fire this car. And I'm not wasting their their time. Obviously, they know my offer might not necessarily be the most competitive one. I'm still making an offer and hopefully they humor it. But, um, they're also getting marketing from this video. So, when I reached out when I saw this listed on Craigslist, they were like, you know what, we could use all the help we can get. Honestly, they really want to do right by the owner who's having to sell this. And at the time of filming this video, there's only 10 days left before, you know, it's a court order sale. So, they were like, "We would love for you to come and film this, and you know, if you want to make an offer, great." So, that's that's why I'm here, and it's such a blessing that they're letting me sit in this and fire it. And they're literally like, "Rev it." And I'm like, "Okay." But the one thing I'm not going to do is put miles on it because I don't want this to devalue in any way, shape, or form before it goes up for sale. You guys, there's even AC. It's blowing cold air. You got the 5-speed shifter rose through the gears beautifully. E brake is holding. I just sat here to let it get up to temp so that I can rev it. They said I can rev it to 5K. So, let's let's listen to her a little, shall we? It sounds so good. [Music] Oh, I love it. It sounds so good. It sounds so good. It idles so smooth, too. Okay, they asked if I want to drive this. I'm not going to drive this cuz I don't want to put miles on it. I'm just going to admire it and make an offer. [Music] [Music] Okay. So, I am prepared to make an offer on the F40. Okay. I am offering and willing to sell my 458. Okay. My Lamborghini Aventador and my home. Okay. The only problem with that is I've only got about 10 days left to sell the car. There there's a I don't think I can sell like dead ass. You guys, I would sell my home, the Lambo, and the Ferrari for this. And you're like, we'll just do it another time. And And maybe I will. I I just This is a very odd sale. So, I only have 10 days left. I was appointed by a federal judge to sell the vehicle. It's going to sell no matter what on August 12th at 1 p.m. in Santa Barbara. So, if you're a qualified bidder, you can be in the courtroom or you can be on Zoom. We got the court to allow us to have Zoom callers cuz I knew that there'd probably be maybe some international buyer type stuff. And then do you get to decide who the final buyer is or is it No, no, it's very fair. So, uh RM Southern, RM Auctions, they they are the stocking horse bid. It's the start bid. 2,555. anyone else that's out there that wants a flawless Ferrari F40 with 7,430 miles on it um can become a qualified uh uh over bidder at 2.6 million. So, everyone signs a contract at 2.6. It basically says that if if Southern fails to come through, you know, that they will they will buy it at 26. And then what happens is if we get more people then then that's when the judge will put on the auction. So, it'll be increments of I don't we don't know yet, so don't hold me to it, but like 10 or 25,000, you know, per bid, per up bid, and then it will just run in a circle until no one's left standing except one person. Man, I'm pretty simplistic. Maybe I'll show up to the court just to see what happens. Come, I could probably get you in if you want to come. Man, I'm really curious to see what this ends up going for. So, I have an idea, but yeah, but we'll see. I mean, with how clean this is. Yeah. I I will say the beautiful thing about you listening this on Craigslist is that we have been talking and learned that you have a speedboat and you race boats and we're going to go racing boats at some point when it cools down a little. We are definitely going to go out on the cigarettes. Everything happens for a reason, you guys. I know I'm always saying that and I don't know if I can liquidate all my all my stuff in the next 10 days to buy this, but just having you here is going to give me some validation because I believe that the buyer of this car is going to be brought to me by Craigslist. Yeah. So, uh obviously online people people skewered me for my plan. Why think so? Obviously, you know, I'm on all the other websites. I paid bigger money for advertising, but I got to hit everything. I got a shotgun blast here cuz I got 10 more days left. So, uh I do have a website. Can I pitch that right now? Of course. www.f40 for sale. You made a website for this? I love that. I made an entire website for the car. So, all the court documents, all the ownership documents, the whole story, everything. There's even an over bidder application. Wow. So, if you print that, it's like a one-page dock. It gets the ball rolling. Get that sent to me via email or call my phone. I'm here to help and we'll get you in as an over bidder. But now you've got an opportunity to be in an auction that normally is reserved for auction houses and and exotic car dealers. So anyone can be in the room and bid this. That's cool. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, very exciting. Well, I wish the best for the car. I wish the best for who what will soon be the previous owner. And I really appreciate you letting me come out and humoring my offer and letting me just see this absolutely beautiful Roso Corso F40. Absolutely. Happy to help you. Thank you. Thank you. So, I just left. I really wanted to respect the their privacy and not film where where their house was. I did get to meet the family and although they were not on camera. I will just say of course I don't know them. I only know the small interaction I had with them. But they are such a kind family, very hardworking, came from nothing and genuinely I could tell just had really good hearts and unfortunately they were put in a situation where they have to sell a car that they love. so dearly. But I know after meeting them, they're just happy that they have their family and a roof above their heads. It's sad to see people come into hard situations. And I know you're like, "Oh, they have an F40." Like, what hard situation could it be? But it's like, you know, it's a family that started with nothing, which I can respect and and built something and then, you know, [ __ ] happens unfortunately, but they just seem like good people. So, I I genuinely wish them the best. And for the record, I did not know that the F40 already had a minimum bid. I I just knew that they needed to sell and I was like, well, genuinely, I'll offer my house and my two cars and if they're, you know, it doesn't hurt to ask. I didn't know there was a minimum bid, so I can't really compete with that. Um, but I do hope this video helps them to get it sold, and I appreciate them humoring my offer, which was real. Which was real. So, I would sell my house for an F40, but my house isn't the same amount as the cost of an F40 right now. It is pretty cool, man. The the things you find on Craigslist, I'm telling you, it's just the best sounding Ferrari 458 in the world. He was showing me that he follows me. Man, I love this car. It sounds like a like a straight up race car. I lost my glasses. It sounds so good. car is tough. Thank you. Thank you. That car is tough. I was like, "Oh, thank you." I'm so jet-lagged. I literally land from Italy last night and I don't know where I am right now or what day it is, but that's all right. I'm really glad I went to go look at the F40. You never know who you can meet on Craigslist and we're going to stay friends and uh who knows what could happen. E girl, we out here with love. Bye. [Music]
