How to Tie a Windsor Knot

Introduction

Preparation

  • Start with your collar up
  • Drape the tie around your neck
  • Hand positioning:
    • Right hand: Wide end
    • Left hand: Narrow end

Key Consideration

  • The wider the end, the lower the tie will hang
  • Example length for the narrow end: 4 inches (10 centimeters)

Steps to Tie the Knot

  1. Cross the Ends:

    • Wide end goes over the narrow end
  2. Thread Through Opening:

    • Use the left hand to take the wide end and thread it through the back of the opening
  3. Wrap Around:

    • With the left hand, wrap the wide end around the back
  4. Switch Hands:
