She is the writer of Little Woman and from this her publication, this story is taken from her Little Woman publication.
He period was 1832 to 1888. She was an American writer in the mid of the late 19th century. 19th century me ek American jo writer the she is considered as one of the earliest feminist writers. Out of the several books she wrote, her series beginning with Little Woman has been hugely popular among the masses and critics alike for a century and a half.
And at that time, her Little Woman series that she had published was very famous. He simple style and lively characters have left a mark and influenced generations of children and adults alike and everyone was a fan of hers. She setting of her book is the suburb of Boston.
She wrote this book in Boston, USA. He world view is wholesome and full of believable and charming characters which captivates the readers. She way she wrote this book, the reader felt that this is the lively character we are enjoying, we are reading the lively characters.
She following extract is from our lesson on Being Neighborly. We have taken this from She Little Woman, which was first published in 1868. And this is written by Lausia M. Alcott. This story of four sisters. So in this story, we are going to learn what we are going to learn. First of all, we will know what being means.
Being means to be a neighbor. We know neighbor means neighbor. Being a neighbor means that it is the story of two neighboring families. So we will enjoy this story further.
I will tell you what we are going to learn from this. So the first family is Marsh family. Shey had four sisters.
Shese four sisters were Meg, Joe, Beth and Amy and their neighbour was Lauriee. Sheir wise and loving parents of modest means living in a suburb of a city in the East Coast of America has caught the imagination of generations of readers, young and old alike. Each character is real and distinctive.
We remain firmly with the sisters through all their struggles. Shese four sisters and their friend Lauriee are the most important people in the world. How did they get to know each other? Because the Marsh family were the poor people, they were from the middle class family. But Lauriee was from the rich family.
So we will see further, while reading we will understand. Each character is real, distinctive, firm with the sisters through all their struggles. She struggle of these four sisters in life.
their conflicts, triumphs and joys and how they enjoyed all the ups and downs their happiness, everything is mentioned in this story it serves as a guiding light to us in all the phase of our lives and it motivates us to face the problems in our life and to keep smiling it will teach us to be happy She extract affords us a tantalizing glimpse into the book and narrates the beginning of lifelong friendship between Joe, the brightest and liveliest of the four sisters and Lauriee, their wealthy new neighbor. She Marsh girls and Lauriee become the best buddies and much more as the book progresses. okay so let's start here you can see neighborly American spelling of neighborly N E I G H B O R L Y okay this is the American spelling and in British language the spelling of neighborly is written like this N E I G H B O R L Y so being neighborly this is the story written by Lausiaa May Alcott and this story has taken from her publication little woman sakvi c-a-c-q-u-e sakvi an infant short jacket and hood jo short jacket hota hai pehnne ka usko yaha pe mention kiya hai so let's learn what in the world are you going to do now joe asked men one snowy afternoon as a sister came tramping through the hall in rubber boots old sakvi and hood with a broom in one hand and a shovel in the Other.
Okay students. Hee you can see that this sister Joe and Meg have given this dialogue. So Meg is telling Joe that it was snowing afternoon and snow was falling.
As her sister came, Joee was wearing rubber boots, and an old jacket with a broom in one hand, and a shovel in the other hand. Going out for exercises, answered Joee with a Miss Shiva's twinkle in her eyes. She said, Joee said to Meg, I am going out for exercise. She said laughing and left. I should think two long walks this morning would have been enough.
It's cold and dull out and I advise you to stay warm and dry by the fire. As I do, said Meg with a shiver. I should think two long walks this morning would have been enough If you have walked twice outside, that is enough It is cold and dull out It is very cold outside And I advise you to stay warm I advise you, I tell you Stay at home, there is fire burning here Stay here and stay warm So never take advice Can't keep still all day And not being a pussycat I don't like to dust by the fire I like adventures and I am going to find some. So, Joehn replied Meg, I don't need such advices. I don't feel like sitting in one place all day.
I don't want to sit in one place like a cat. I don't want to sit in front of fire. I like to do adventures.
I like to do something adventurous outside. And next we will read. Meg went back to toast her feet and read.
Ivanhoe and Joee began to dig paths with great energy What did Meg do? Joee was not listening to her So Meg went back to her place She put her feet on the ground Because she was sitting in front of the fire and she was feeling cold And historical novel, this is the historical novel by Walter Alcott Meg started to read that And what did Joee do? Joee began to dig paths with great energy She snow was light and with her broom she soon swept a path all round the garden. Now the snow had reduced a little and she used the shovel to clear the way around the garden.
She used the shovel to clear the way around the garden. She sun came out and the invalid dolls needed air. Invalid dolls? She dolls with broken limbs which Beth loves.
Now her third sister, Meg and Joee, we have read the dialogue. Now Beth. What Beth liked?
She old broken dolls. She was used to collecting them. Now the garden separated the Marsh's house from that of Mr. Lawrence's. Okay, so the four sisters, their family was the Marsh family and the house in front of them was Mr. Lawrence's family.
Shese two families, in these two families, these two families are So, in between all the communication, conversations, feelings related to it, this is our whole lesson. So, read carefully. Both stood in a suburb of the city which was still country-like with groves and lawns, large gardens.
Where they lived, it was like a city area. Because there was a garden, big gardens and quiet streets. And there were some roads too. Streets means road. A low hedge parted the two states.
Okay. A low hedge parted the two estates. On one side was an old, which is the description of the house of the Marsh family.
On one side was an old brown house looking rather bare and shabby, robbed of the vines that in summer covered its walls and the flowers which then surrounded it. Sheir house was very old and brown in color. Shey are from the middle class family.
On the other side was a stately stone mansion. plainly bare batoning batoning means sign of which was a sign of every sort of comfort and luxury where all the facilities were from the big coach house and well kept grounds to the conservatory and the glimpses of lovely things one caught between the rich curtains here you can see conservatory means a glass room outside the house used as greenhouse too they had such a big bungalow and in front of them was the marsh family marsh family was very poor, their house was small and they were not that big because they were poor they were very poor they were from middle class family but this Lawrence family they were very rich because in front of their bungalow there was a small glass room type house they were called as green house it seemed lonely but despite being a big house they were very lonely lifeless sort of house it seemed like there were very few people in that house For no children frolicked on the lawn No motherly face ever smiled at the windows No motherly faces ever smiled at the windows No motherly faces ever smiled at the windows No motherly faces ever smiled at the windows No motherly faces ever smiled at the windows Except the old gentleman and his grandson Except the old gentleman and his grandson Lawrence family was only two persons She one is She one is who? She one is, let me just check, Lauriee What was his name? Lauriee and his grandfather Okay?
Grandpa means he was his grandson Next we will read To Joee's lively fancy, this fine house seemed a kind of enchanted palace Joee had a thought in his mind why this house looks like this full of splendors and delights which no one enjoyed so much comfort and comfort so many facilities why no one looks lively and lively joe was asked this question she had long wanted to behold this hidden glories and to know the lawrence boy she had a desire to know what is in that house and to know about the lawrence boy who was peeping through the window wo utsuk thi, who looked as if he would like to be known, if he only knew how to begin. Since the party, she had been more eager than ever, and had planned many ways of making friends with him. But he had not been seen lately, and Joee began to think he had gone away, when she one day spied a brown face at an upper window looking wistfully, wistfully yaana kya, lungingly said thinking of the past, down into their garden. Where Beth and Amy were snowballing one another.
Now see here, this paragraph here, Joee wants to know about Lawrence. And Lawrence once thought that he will have to know about this sometime or the other. What is this in that house?
She was very eager. She was very excited. But one day what happened?
She saw a brown face in the front window. That means her color was brown. So she saw him peeking through the upper window.
At the same time, his two sisters were playing with snowballs. That boy is suffering for society and fun. She said to herself, but when she saw the boy in the window, Joe felt that he is far from the whole society and the joy of life. He is far from it.
His grandpa does not know what's good for him. His grandpa does not know what's good for him. And keeps him shut up all alone.
And he keeps him locked up in the house all day long. Alone. He needs a party of jolly boys to play with.
Joe said, that he needs a party with his age boys and somebody young and lively or someone from his generation I have a great mind to go over and tell the old gentleman so Joee had this idea in his mind but he could not say it to them how can I tell them? this is how he thought now see what is going to happen the story is very interesting students so see carefully how I have pronounced every word Keep this in mind, if you have difficulty in reading then that query will be sorted out. She idea Amirjo who liked to do daring things and was always scandalizing made by her queer performances. Okay, so Joe was a very jolly girl and she liked adventures. She liked to do things that were not in her nature.
After seeing her, he felt that this boy is far from society and his grandfather has kept him alone. This is how he was thinking. She idea of Miss Joe, who likes to do daring things.
Why was this idea coming to Joe's mind? Because she had a habit of daring. And scandalizing Meg by her queer performance.
And she used to trouble Meg with strange things. She plan of going over was not forgotten and when the snowy afternoon came, one day it was snowy afternoon, Joe resolved to try what could be done. Joe was trying to do something. She saw Mr. Lawrence drive off.
She saw his grandfather drive off and then slide out to dig her way down to the hedge where they paused and took a survey. Now look here SALLIED set out to do something Now he has decided that he has to do something and he went out All white, everything is visible, he looked here and there Curtains down at the lower windows, the curtains of the window above again came down Servants out of sight, the servants came out Nothing human visible but a curly black head leaning on a thin hand at the upper window He was not seeing anything there Only the curly black hairs of the boy was seen moving. Leaning and moving.
Where? On the window of the upper window. Shere he is, the thought Joee. He is the same poor boy.
What a poor boy he is. All the land seek this small day. Poor boy stays alone all day.
It's a shame. This is very bad. I will toss up a snowball and make him look out.
So what did he do? I make a ball of snow and hit it and force it to look here and then say a kind word to him and then I will talk to him. This joke came in mind. Up went a handful of soft snow and she had turned at once showing a face which lots is listless look in a minute as the big eyes brightened and the mouth began to smile.
Joee nodded and laughed. and flourished her broom as she called out, how do you do? Are you sick? Now look what Joee did, he came in his dream and said, I will hit him with a snowball.
So he made a soft snowball and threw it at him. So what happened after that, Lawrence smiled and smiled. His eyes shone and he looked at Joee and smiled.
And then Joee, shaking his head and laughing, what did he say? He shook the broom in his hand. He pointed at her and asked her how she was and if she was sick. Next, Lauriee opened the window and crocked out as a horse.
Horselessly as a raven. Lauriee opened the window and started looking out. Betterr, and she replied to Joee, Betterr, thank you. I have had a bad cold.
Thank you so much for asking. But I have a very bad cold. And we shut up a week.
And I have been locked in the house for a week. I am sorry. What do you amuse yourself with? I am sorry, what do you amuse yourself with? Nothing, it's a dull as storms up here.
Shen Joee said, I felt very bad listening to you. How are you feeling now? Lawrence said, nothing at all, as the last comes up here, like the day after, the dull day, like the bad day passes, don't you read, not much they won't let me.
So, Joee asked him, don't you read, don't you read books? Lawrence said, no, they don't allow me that much, can't somebody read to you, can someone read to you, don't they tell you, so grandpa does sometimes. Lawrence told Joee that my grandfather used to read me books but my books don't interest him and I hate to ask Brook all the time. And he said that I too have been worried listening to those books every time. Have someone come and see you then?
So then Joee asked him, does anyone come and see you? Shere isn't anyone I would like to see. So he said that there is no one like that.
Boys make such a row and my head is weak. Isn't there some nice girl who would read and amuse you? Girls are quite unlike to play nurse.
Shen Joee said to her, if you don't have a friend, then you will like it if a girl comes and reads to you. Because girls are very nice, they are calm. In this way, Joee said, now see, don't know any.
So Lawrence said, I don't know such a person. You know us, began Joee. Joee said, you know me. Shen laughed and stopped and she stopped laughing.
So I do, will you come please? Lauriee cried and asked him if he would please come here. I am not quite nice but I will come.
Joee said I am not very nice but I will come if mother will let me. I will go ask her. I asked her to shut the window like a good boy and wait till I come. Joee told Lauriee to shut the window like a good boy. and wait till I come.
Wait for me till I come. With that, what happened? She man who shouldered her broom and marched into the house took the broom in his hand and went inside the house. Wondering what they would all say to her.
And she started to think. Lauriee was in a flutter of excitement at the idea of having company. And Lauriee was very happy. that someone is coming to give him company and flew about to get ready and he left to get ready for as Mrs. March said he was a little gentleman when she went to ask her mother to go there then Mrs. March's mother told her that he is a gentleman and did honour to the coming guest by brushing his curly pate, putting on a fresh colour and trying to tidy up the room which is spite of half a dozen servants who have a lot of servants at home and welcomed the guests was anything but neat and kept the house very well presently here came a loud ring then a decided voice asking for Mr. Laurie and a surprise looking servant came running up to announce a young lady then what happened, his mother gave him permission and Joe went to Laurie's house and she went there and said Mr. Laurie and the servant ran away and the servant came running up to him and said that there is a young lady outside ok, now what happened?
alright show her up, it's miss joe said laurie laurie said to him, alright, alright tell her to come upstairs, she must be miss joe going to the door of his little parlour to meet joe and joe went upstairs who appeared looking rosy and quiet at her ease with a cupboard dish in one hand and Beth's three kittens in the other She room was very beautiful. Shere were three kittens in the other room. And Beth's three kittens in the other room. Beth's three kittens were in her other hand.
And one of them had a covered dish. Hee I am, bag and baggage, she said briskly. So, when Joe went to meet Lauriee, she didn't go empty handed.
She had a dish in one hand and a bag in the other. She had 3 cats She said I came back with my stuff Mother sent her love and was glad if I could do anything for you May mother has given you a lot of love and asked me to do something for you Meg wanted me to bring some more for Blank Manj Blank Manj is an almond flavoured milk pudding Almond flavoured milk pudding is a sweet dish Meg sent me this She makes it very nicely. She tells Lauriee that Meg has sent you a sweet dish. She makes it very nicely. And Beth thought her cats would be comforting.
And Beth sent these cats because she thought you would be happy with them. I knew you would laugh at them but I couldn't refuse. Joe said that I know you will laugh at these things but I could not refuse. She was so anxious to do something. Joe was so excited that she went to the place.
It so happened that Better's funny loan was just the thing for in laughing over the kids, Lauriee forgot his bashfulness and grew sociable at once. Brushfulness means shyness. So he forgot and started talking to Joee. That looks too pretty to eat, he said, smiling with pleasure.
And he smiled and said, it looks very good to eat. And Joee uncovered the dish and showed the blank man surrounded by a garland of green leaves and the scarlet flowers of amethyst pet geranium. So he opened the dish and saw the sweet dish that Meg had sent him.
It isn't anything only. Shey all felt kindly and wanted to show it. Tell the girl to put it away for your tea.
It's so simple you can eat it and being soft it will sleep down without hurting your sore throat. What a cozy room this is. Shen Joee started talking that you can eat this, it will not spoil your throat and your room is so good. He started talking like this.
It might be if it was kept nice. But what did she say? Lauriee said that yes it might be but if my maids are more comfortable then it will be better.
But the maids are lazy and I don't know how to make them mind it worries me though. So Lauriee said that my room could have been better but my maids are very lazy and I don't know how to make them understand. I will write it up in two minutes for it only needs to have the heart brushed. Shen Joee said that I will tell them in 2 minutes.
So and the things met straight on the mantelpiece. So and the books put here and the bottles there. So then Joee started that I will tell them how to do.
That books stay here, bottles stay there and your sofa turn from the light. Your sofa move here and the pillows plumped up a bit. Move the pillows a little.
Now then you are fixed. Do this, do that, whatever started there, he started giving directions. And so he was for as she laughed and talked.
And she was laughing and talking to Lauriee. Joee had mixed things into place and given quite a different air to the room. And Joee's atmosphere there was a little happy.
Lauriee watched her in respectful silence. Lauriee was sitting quietly and watching her. And when she beckoned him to his sofa, he sat down with a sigh of satisfaction saying gratefully, and he liked talking to joe how kind you are yes that is what it wanted and he said to joe that you are so nice now please take the big chair and let me do something to amuse my company now take that big chair and let me do something for you no i came to amuse you so joe said i came here to give you company shall i read aloud can i read the book loudly and joe looked affectionately towards some inviting books nearby. And he looked at them with a very good attitude which book he was going to read.
Thank you, I have read all those. And if you don't mind, I would rather talk answered Lauriee. Lauriee said that I have read all these books already.
I don't want to talk to you about listening to these books. I liked it very much. Not a bit, I will talk all day if you will only set me going.
So, Joee said that I can talk to you all day. Beth says I never know when to stop. Beth says that she doesn't know when to stop. Is Beth the rosy one who stays at home good deal and sometimes goes out with a little basket? Asked Lauriee with interest.
Lauriee asked with excitement, Is Beth the same girl who goes out with a small basket in her hand? Yes, that's Beth. She is my girl and a regular good one.
She is too. And Joee said, Yes, she is my sister. and she is very beautiful the pretty one is Meg and the curly one is Amy I believe how did you find that out? then Lauriee said that I think the one who looks very beautiful is Meg and the one with curly hair is Amy how did you find that out?
then Joee asked that how did you recognize her? Lauriee colored up and smiled at her face but answered frankly but she answered why you see I often hear you calling to another I often hear you when you ask each other for names and when I am alone up here I can't help looking over at your house and when I am alone here I look at your house and listen to everything you always seem to be having such good times you spend so much time so well I beg your pardon for being so rude but sometimes you forget to put down the curtain at the window where the flowers are But Joee asked him why he put curtains on the floor when he should have flowers. And when the lamps are lit, it's like looking at a picture to see the fire. And you all round the table with your mother. And Lauriee said to him, Sorry, Lauriee said to him, I'm telling you why you put curtains on the floor instead of flowers.
She light that lights up in your house, the good picture, When there is a fire in your house, that is, when they light the fire and the picture that Lauriee sees, Lauriee keeps looking at all the sisters sitting on the table with their mother. He face is right opposite and it looks so sweet behind the flowers. I can't help watching it. I haven't got any mother you know.
Lauriee said that I miss my mother a lot when I see your mom. And Lauriee poked the fire to hide a little twitching of the lips that he could not control. and his eyes were filled with water but he tried to hide his face where the fire was burning the solitary hungry look in his eyes went straight to joe's warm heart and the moisture in his eyes for his mother touched joe's heart she had been so simply taught that there was no nonsense in her head and at 15 she was an innocent and frank as any child laurie was sick and lonely then joe realized that when i I was 15 years old at that time I was very naughty At that time, Lauriee was very lonely and lost But feeling how rich she was in home and happiness She gladly tried to share it with him He face was very friendly and her sharp voice unusually gentle as she said So Lauriee's loneliness and the moisture in her eyes Joe saw him and thought that he is so rich but he is so lonely. And she started talking to him. She said that she will never draw that curtain anymore.
She said that she will not remove that curtain again. And I give you leave to look as much as you want. And I will allow you to look at our mother as much as you want.
I just wish though instead of peeping you would come over and see us. I want you to look at her as much as you want. I want you to look at her as much as you want.
She would come over and see us. Mother is so splendid. She would do you hips of good. Beth would sing to you. May mother will treat you very well.
Beth will sing for you. If I beg her to. Amy would dance. Meg and I.
would make you laugh over funny stage properties and we would have jolly times wouldn't your grandpa let you told joe name lorry ko kaha ki tum agar humare gharme aavey te meri madhar tumhara bohot acha khayal rakhayegi amy tumhare liye dance karegi beth gana gaayegi may and may tumhare liye bohot sare achche achche kushto moves karenge jisthe ki tum bohot hasoge agar tumhare grandpa tumko allow kare to i think he would if your mother asked him he is very kind Though he does not look so and he lets me do what I like, pretty much only he is afraid I might be a bother to strangers, began Lauriee brightening more and more. But what happened here is that he said that if your mother asks, if your mom asks, then my grandfather will tell. Because he doesn't look like it but he is very kind and pretty much because he must be scared that how will I meet the strangers outside. How will you behave with them?
Will you send me like this also? We are not strangers, we are neighbours. That's when he told Lauriee that we are not strangers anymore. Now we are neighbours. And you need not think you would be a bother.
And you need not think that you will bother or do any harm. We want to know you and I have been trying to do in this ever so long. I want to know you. We all want to know you. and I have been trying for this for many days we haven't been here a great while you know but we have got acquainted with all our neighbours but you we talk to our neighbours too but we like to make a bond with you too you see grandpa lives among his books and doesn't mind much what happens outside grandpa only reads books during the day And what happens in the outside world, we don't even see it there.
Mr. Brookie, my tutor, doesn't stay here, you know, and I have no one to go out with me. So I just stop at home and get on as I can. So Lauriee's tutor, who used to come to teach him at home, his name was Mr. Brook. And what Brook used to do was, he was not staying at the Lorry and because of this Lorry said that I am staying at home and I am waiting for him and studying that is bad you have to make an effort and go visiting everywhere you are asked you should take some effort You should take a bus and go out You should roam around Shen you will have plenty of friends Only then you will have many friends And pleasant places to go to And you will be able to go to good places Never mind being bashful It won't last long if you keep going If you change your nature Shen you will be able to go out If you try to go out once Shen you will be very happy in life This is what is being said by Joe Lauriee Lauriee turned red again but wasn't offended at being accused of bashfulness for there was so much goodwill in Joe it was impossible not to take her blunt speeches as kindly as they were mean but their conversation was going on do you like your school?
asked the boy changing the subject then the conversation was going on about Joe going out so how did he change the subject and asked him Joee asked her if she liked going to school. After a little pause, she stopped for a while. During which she started at the fire and Joee looked about her well pleased. When Joee looked towards the lorry, he stopped for a while and sat where they light the fire. Don't go to school.
I am a businessman. Joee asked this question to the lorry. So, when Joee asked Lauriee, do you go to school?
After that, her mood changed a little bit. And then she said, I am a businessman. I am a businessman, girl.
I mean, I go to wait on my great aunt and dear cross old soul. She is too, answered Joee. I go and wait on my great aunt and dear cross old soul, who is my friend.
I will meet him outside. Lauriee opened his mouth to ask another question. Lauriee was about to ask the next question.
But remembering just in time that it wasn't matter to make too many inquiries into people's affairs, he shut it again. But he felt that asking so many questions to someone is not good and he stopped. So liked his good breeding and didn't mind having a laugh at Aunt March.
so she gave him a lively description of the fidgety old lady her fat poodle the parrot that talked spanish and the library where she will so she told aunt march about him joe liked his good breeding and didn't mind having a laugh at aunt march so she gave him a lively description of the fidgety old lady so how she looks, how she lives, her parrot speaks Spanish, her library is also very big Lauriee enjoyed that immensely and the talks she was having with Lauriee Lauriee was very happy with that, Lauriee enjoyed that immensely and when she told about the prime old gentleman who came once to Wu Ant Marsh and in the middle of a fine speech how pole had tweaked his wig off to his great dismay She boy lay back and laughed in the tears ran down this cheek and a maid popped her head in to see what was the matter. Now what happened? Shey were talking so much. Now see here, what did Joee do?
He started telling about Aunt Marsh. She is a very fat woman. She has a parrot.
She is an old lady. Parrot speaks Spanish. Once what happened?
A gentleman came to meet her in the library. But When the gentleman took off his cap, his wig was also taken off and his bald head was seen. And after hearing this, the lorry started laughing and water came into his eyes. So the boy lay back, he went back laughing, laughed till the tears ran down his cheeks. And while he was laughing, water came into his eyes.
and to see what was going on inside, her maid was looking at him oh that does me no end of good, tell on please he said and he said to her, tell me more please taking his face out of the sofa cushion, red eyes shining with merriment and she was very much used to so that shy boy asked her to tell more please much related with her success joe did tell on all about their plays and plans their hopes and fears for father and the most interesting event of the little world in which the sister lived then they got to talking about books and to joe's delight she found after a lot of talks now they talked about books that laurie loved them as well as she did and had read even more than herself books. If you like them so much come down and see ours. Grandpa is out. But in the conversation Lauriee found out that Joee loves books.
She loves to read the books. So Lauriee told him that grandpa has gone out so we can go to his library and read his books. Grandpa is out so you needn't be afraid.
Said Lauriee getting up. So he said let's go and read. I am not afraid of anything written Joee with a toss of the head.
But I am not afraid of Standing up, Joee said, I don't fear anyone. I don't believe you are, exclaimed the boy. Shen he said, I don't believe that it is you.
Looking at her with much admiration, though he privately thought she would have good reason to be a trifle afraid of the old gentleman if she met him in some of his moods. And he thought that he didn't believe that this is the Joee who is talking to me. She said that she is not afraid of her grandfather. But if my grandfather would have met her in a different mood, then he would have understood how angry she was. He was thinking this in his mind.
She atmosphere of the whole house being summer-like. But Joee's going out changed the whole atmosphere of the house. Lauriee laid the way from room to room.
Lauriee was roaming from one room to another. Letting Joee stop to examine whatever struck her fancy. Joee was asking her what she liked. And then...
and whatever she liked she would stand there and watch it with great pleasure and so at last they came to the library and while talking where did they come? they came to the library where she clapped her hands and pranced pranced means she jumped with joy she jumped with joy because she also likes the books a lot as she always did when especially delighted when she was very happy then she used to do like this It was lined with books. Shere were pictures and statues. And distracting little cabinet full of coins and curiosities. And sleepy hollow chairs.
Shere were hollow chairs, a small cabinet with coins, queer tables, bronzes and best of all a great open fireplace with white tiles all around it. She library room was so good. Joee liked it very much.
What richness, sighed Joee. Joee said, how rich are these people here. Sinking into the depth of a well worth chair and gazing about her with an air of infant satisfaction. Dear Daryl Lawrence, you ought to be the happiest boy in the world, she added impressively.
And very happily he said to Lauriee, you are the very lucky boy in this world who has so many dreams. a fellow can't live on books, said Lauriee. Shen Lauriee told him that no one can live on books, shaking his head as he pressed on a table opposite, and shook his head. Before he could say more, a bell rang, and as the conversation progressed, the door bell rang, and Joee flew up, exclaiming with alarm,"'Mercy me, it's your grandpa.'" and he said that I think your grandpa has come well what if it is you are not afraid of anything you know return the boy looking weak so what happened is that joe said what happened when grandpa came you don't get scared of him I think I am a little bit afraid of him then joe said I think I am a little bit scared of him but I don't know why I should be but I don't know why I am scared mommy said I might come and I don't think you are any the worst for it said joe composing herself though she kept her eyes on the door and joe kept looking at the door then the next conversation was i am a great deal better for it and ever so much oblique i am only afraid you are very tired of talking to me i am just afraid of one thing that you must be tired of talking to me it was so pleasant i really liked it I couldn't bear to stop. Mujhe sunne mein bahut maza aa raha tha.
Said Lauriee gratefully. Bohut hi achche tare se usne Lauriee ko, Lauriee ne Joee ko bola ki. Joe itna bhi time usne uske saath spend kiya hai. Whatever she talked with him. So usko bahut acha laga.
She doctor to see you. sir and the maid beckoned as she spoke and there her maid came and said that doctor has come to see you lorry sir would you mind if i left you for a minute i suppose i must see him said lorry and lorry said to joe that i will come in some time don't mind i am happy as a cricket here answered joe and joe said okay i am very happy here because she was in library so she was very happy so she said don't mind me ki tumhe agar koi apathi nahi toh kya main yaha pe rukh sakti hu thodi der Lauriee went away and his guest amused herself in her own way Lauriee waha se chala gaya aur jo toh library main hi khadi thi she was standing before a fine portrait of the old gentleman when the door opened again and without turning she said decidedly I am sure now that I should not be afraid of him for he's got kind eyes though his mouth is grim and he looks as if he had a Tremendous will of his own, he isn't as handsome as my grandfather, but I like him. But Joee was thinking that if his grandfathers come, they won't be as handsome as my grandfathers, but I will talk to them, I will like them. Thank you ma'am, said a gruff voice behind her and there to her great dismay stood old Mr. Lawrence.
When she was talking, someone stood behind her, Lawrence. Dada aagay poor joe blushed till she couldn't blush any rater. Lekin sharmate huye joe unki tarab dekke has gayi.
And her heart began to beat uncomfortably fast as she thought what she had said. Aur usko bhot dar laga ki usne kya bol diya. For a minute a wild desire to run away possessed her but that was cowardly and the girls would laugh at her. So she resolved to stay and get out of the scrum. scrap as she could.
And she thought for a while and she thought, no, I didn't have to say so. Second look showed her that the living eyes under the bushy eyebrows were kinder even than the painted ones and there was a slight wrinkle in them which lessened her fear a good deal. But when she looked at her grandpa, her grandpa's eyes, the fear in her eyes came out.
She gruff voice was gruffer than ever. As the old gentleman said abruptly, after the dreadful pause, So you are not afraid of me? I think you are not afraid of me, Joee. Not much, sir.
So Joee said, No sir, I am not afraid of you. And you don't think me as handsome as your grandfather? He heard what she was saying.
So Joee asked her, Don't you think I am more beautiful than your grandfather? Not quite, sir. So she said, Yes sir, not quite. And I have got a tremendous will, have I?
And I have a lot of wills. means I have a lot of capacity I only said I thought so yes I think so but you like me in spite of it yes I do sir but Dada ji asked him did you like me a little bit he said yes sir yes I do that answer pleased the old gentleman then they became happy he gave a short laugh shook hands with her and putting his finger under her chin and said and with her finger on her chin, she said turned up her face, examined it gravely and let it go saying with a nod you have got your grandfather's spirit if you haven't his face he was a fine man my dear then Lauriee's grandfather told her your grandfather was a very good person but what is better he was a brave and an honest one and I was proud to be his friend and that Joee's grandfather's friend. Thank you sir. And Joee was quite comfortable after that. When Lauriee's grandfather told him this, Joee felt very good.
For it suited her exactly. What have you been doing to this boy of mine? What are you doing with my son? What was the next question?
She next question was very fast. Only trying to be neighborly sir. And his answer to that was I am only neighborly. And he She was trying to be a neighbour. And she told how her visit came out.
And she said that she liked it here. You think he needs cheering up a bit, do you? Did you think, Dada ji asked her, Mr. Lawrence asked her, Do you think he needs some cheer up? Yes sir, he seems a little lonely and young, folks.
So, Joe answered him that yes, he seems a very lonely and lonely boy. Would do him good perhaps we are only girls. He said would do him good perhaps we are only girls but we should be glad to help if we could.
For we don't forget the splendid Christmas present you sent us, said Joee eagerly. Shen Joee said, the present you sent us on Christmas, we didn't forget it and we can help your boy. Tut tut tut, what was the boy's affair?
How is the poor woman doing nicely, sir? But grandpa said, this was Lawrence's idea to send you a gift. How is the poor woman doing nicely? And he asked, how is your mother?
She was doing nicely and off went Joee, talking very fast but she was talking too much as she told all about the Hummels, Hummels a poor family whom the Marsh family helps. She gave information about her family in whom her mother had interested richer friends than they were. That her mother had richer friends than her mother.
Just her father's way of doing good. I shall come and see your mother some fine day. Tell her so.
Shere is the tea bell. And her grandfather told Joee that one day I will definitely come to your house for tea. We have it early on the boy's account.
Come down and go on being neighborly. And he told Lauriee to come down and go on being neighborly and go and do the duty of the neighbors. If you would like to have me sir. Shouldn't ask you if I didn't and Mr. Lawrence offered her his arm with old-fashioned courtesy What would make say to this thought Joee or a big joke or the question are you here?
May casutegi as she was marched away while her eyes dance with fun Lekin who's called in the hidden me both he who she already as she imagined herself telling the story You could use the garage a kebat. Yes, a baton. It's equs.
Nicky. Who's Nicky say Lauriee K. Dada G. Say bad key Lauriee say bad key and all the things Friends, this lesson is very interesting. It teaches us how to be a neighbor and talk to each other.
We need to talk with each other. Our friends and neighbours, the bond between these two families, the bond between Joee and Lauriee, the bond between these two families, and this shows that both are the lively characters and whatever characters are shown in this we can imagine while reading the story so this is a very good lesson which is taken from Lev Same Alcott's book Little Woman and yes of course I hope you understood this whole lecture I have explained you line to line how they communicated with each other How they connected with bond If you like the story that I have read, then do like, share and comment In next lecture we will take brainstorming session We will take all the questions and answers from this lesson Stay healthy, stay happy, stay home, take care, bye bye
