into the message if you're new to social Dallas we start off every single year with the word and our word for this year is planted we are going to flourish this year because we're going to be planted look at y'all still in church that's amazing give yourself a hand you still here still pled and that word of the year comes straight out of scripture Our verse of the year is Psalms 92: 13- 15 we're going to read this verse every single Sunday of 2025 till you got to memorize even next Sunday we won't be here it's watch party Sunday but you still better read it okay we're doing house calls to make sure you read it come on let's do it together as a family y'all ready come on 1 2 3 those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God they shall still bear fruit in old age they shall be fresh and flourishing to declare that the Lord is upright he is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in him soal you sound [Music] good and then we're continuing in this idea of what it means to be planted and our verse that we'll be teaching from today is found in the gospel of Mark chapter number four perhaps one of the most famous stories that the greatest Storyteller Jesus ever told Mark chapter 4 I'm going to look at verses 1-13 this story is also found in the gospel of Matthew chapter number 13 and in the Gospel of Luke chapter number 8 but I love Marky Mark so we're going to read Mark's version Mark chapter number four starting at verse one when you ready to read it say yeah yeah you need some time to find it say hold up I heard you Matthew then Mark if you're in Ephesians you went too far it says again Jesus began to teach by the lake the crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake while all the people people were along the shore at the water's edge he taught them many things by Parables and in his teaching said listen what's the first thing he said listen the first thing is the hardest thing to do listen a farmer went out to sew his seed as he was scattering the seeds some fell along the path and the birds came and ate it up some fell on Rocky places where it did not have much soil it spr up quickly because the soil was shallow but when the sun came up the plants were scorched and they withered because they had no root other seed fell among Thorns which grew up and choked the plants so they did not bear grain still other seed fell on good soil and it came up grew produced the crop some multiplying 30 some 60 some a hundred times then Jesus said Whoever has ears to hear Let Them hear when he was alone with the 12 and the others around him asked him about the parables in other words Jesus that was a good sermon that was a good story but what does it mean he told them the secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you but to those on the outside everything is said in Parables so that they may be ever seeing but never perceiving and ever hearing but never understanding otherwise they might turn and be forgiven then Jesus said to them don't you understand this Parable how then will you understand any Parable in other words this is not no regular basic story this is the story that unlocks every single story that I will ever tell if you miss this story you miss everything everything that's how important the story is I want to preach today using this as a title The Heart part the Heart part look at your neighbor whichever one you like the best and just say neighbor neighbor oh neighbor oh neighbor it's all about it's all about the Heart part some of y'all didn't look at your neighbor you act like I can't see you come on y'all this is social Dallas don't don't be like that don't be like that look at somebody else say other neighbor other neighbor make sure make sure you do your part you do your part and your part your part is the Heart part is the Heart part if you believe God's going to speak would you give him some praise in advance like he is no I may really give them some crazy prayer father have your way today amen you may be seated in the presence of the Lord the Heart part social fam recently Pastor Taylor and I and I went to Cooper Clinic here in Dallas Texas for our annual Health checkup annual Health checkup for those of you who are not familiar with Cooper Clinic it was founded in 1970 by Dr Kenneth Cooper who is often called the father of aerobics he pioneered the concept of preventative medicine emphasizing the importance of regular exercise and proactive Health assessments proactive Health assessments so uh Pastor Taylor and I make it a point every single year we've done this since we planted the church we go to Cooper Clinic and spend a whole day for this checkup y'all and this is not no regular checkup this checkup is intense y'all it takes the whole day and when I tell you wo they check everything they check as soon as you get there they draw your blood after they draw your blood they check your body after they check your body they scan your body after they scan your body they scan your fat then they scan your muscles then they scan your tissue then they check your joints then they check your grip then they check your hip y'all they check everything on your body lights and lasers in your eyes and in your ears and then they do a stress test a stress I told them I got three kids I don't need no stress test I can tell you what that test is going to be and that test is crazy cuz it takes sandpaper sand down your chest and they put all these stickers on it with wires on it I'm not making this up put you on a treadmill have you walk up the hill on a treadmill then have you run then they check your blood pressure while you walking on the treadmill and then they ask you keep doing it till you feel like you're about to die just to make sure everything is okay and then after they run all those tests and they run some more test and then they just do the stair checkup looking at everything have you ever noticed doctors Todd and crazy people are the only ones that can stare at you past the point of being awkward they just looking at absolutely any and everything and once all that is done then you're cleared to go praise the Lord your pastors are healthy okay we we passed the test and I'll tell you that to tell you that we we do this test every single year hear me not because we feel unwell but because they specialize in looking beyond the surface see we could feel fine and appear healthy externally but the comprehensive evaluations at Cooper Clinic delve deeper assessing the aspects of our health that aren't visible on the surface and this experience is always a reminder to me that no matter how something looks good on the outside if there's something wrong on the inside it will eventually manifest EST in my life ladies and gentlemen Jesus understood this profound Principle as it relates to human nature he knew that everything starts internally it starts with the inside first matter of fact I'll say it like this it starts with your heart it starts with your heart you takeing notes you can write that down say it starts with your heart Jesus knew this about Humanity he knew that the problem with the human heart is always at the heart of the human problem that there is something wrong with us since the fall it is not about external things it's about the internal part of you what do you look like on the inside all of us have been infected and affected by sin so Jesus is not concerned with what it looks like on the external he's concerned about your heart what does it look like on the inside that's why when he showed up in human skin he said I did not come here for the healthy I came here for the sick I did not come here to call the righteous I came to call Sinners to repentance here's the funny thing there are no healthy we're all sick we have all been infected by the sickness of sin and that's why the Pharisees couldn't stand Jesus because his Jesus showed up he was like a walking EKG machine he could see the real them he could see the inside he could look past all their robes and all these scriptures and say yeah you like whitewashed tombs yeah yeah you look real clean on the outside but in the inside you're like Dead Man's Bones Jesus could look into the heart of a person like nobody else oh this is why Peter remember Peter that day when he caught all those fish after he caught nothing and Jesus said throw your nets on the other side and all of a sudden they caught all those fish you ever notice what Peter said after he caught the fish he did not jump up and down and start doing the Holy Ghost twep he actually said Jesus depart from me get away from me what in the world would make Peter do that he knew that if Jesus could see into the depths of the sea he can see into the depths of me and I need you to depart from me because there's things on the inside of me that I don't want you to see but Jesus says you can run but you can't hide Peter yes I can see in the depths of you and guess what I still love you and I'm still calling you for a purpose Jesus is concerned with the heart the heart it's the Heart part and he had so many different ways that he would penetrate the hearts of humanity one of the ways he penetrated the hearts of humanity was through the Miracles that he did he did Supernatural Miracles we're in the gospel of Mark remember the first one he did remember the friends that carried the lame dude Up on the Roof cut a hole in the roof remember that deconstruction just just cut a hole in the roof and drop this lame dude in the presence of Jesus remember what Jesus said to him he said your sins are forgiven and everybody in the room was like this man didn't say nothing about sins he wants to walk Jesus but Jesus knew what good is it for me to fix the external when there's Brokenness internally first things first your sins are forgiven it's about the heart and then he said just in case you got it twisted and didn't think he had power then he said get up and take your mat and walk and his legs on the outside were just prove positive of the healing that first started on the inside because God is always about going deeper and looking at the heart I'm preaching better than y'all are talking in here today watch party I hope y'all saying amen he had ways of getting at the heart at the heart even in Matthew in Mark chapter 3 you see in the synagogue the Pharisees are mad because Jesus keeps doing healings on the Sabbath day and they're like you can't heal on the Sabbath he's like you don't know who I am I'll heal whoever I want whenever I want to heal them and here they were one time in the synagogue the Bible says they were looking to see if he was going to heal anybody can you imagine looking for a miracle but not to shout about the miracle but to get mad mad about the miracle you know your heart is jacked up when you're looking to get mad about somebody getting a breakthrough and they were staring at Jesus it was a stared down they're like you better not heal nobody he's looking at them like bet I will and all of a sudden there was a man with a shriveled up hand of all the things a shriveled up hand his shriveled hand was a picture of the Pharisees shriveled up hearts and what did Jesus say stretch forth your hand and all of a sudden this man's hand got healed and whole and they walked away mad not realizing that the same God that healed his shriveled up hand is the same God that could have healed your shriveled up heart if it wasn't poisoned by religion this is what our God does he always always goes deep but perhaps one of the best ways he got to the hearts of people was through his teaching through his teaching and watch this 33% of the things Jesus taught he did through this thing called a parable stories Jesus Jesus was a Storyteller ooo y'all Jesus knew how to tell a story that's why people forgot to eat and followed him everywhere just to hear the words that would emanate from his mouth Jesus was the greatest Storyteller I dare say the greatest Communicator in human history Jesus could tell a story Plato said that the storytellers rule the world there's something about a story that can penetrate your heart stories can do something that facts can't do that data cannot do as a matter of fact if you tell me a fact I'll learn tell me a truth I believe but tell me a story it will live in my heart forever Jesus knew how to tell some good stories and the stories he would tell were called Parables look at your neighbor say Parables 33% onethird of Jesus teachings were Parables what is a parable uh I used to say that a parable was an Earthly story conveying a Heavenly reality that's a part of the definition but it is not complete because it's not enough to say that a parable is just an Earthly story conveying a Heavenly reality because the reality is God came to bring Heaven to Earth to manifest his kingdom here so when you hear these stories it's actually giving you Blues Clues of how his kingdom can be manifest right here right now in the earth okay do I got to go Lord's prayer Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth there it is on Earth as it is in heaven so he would tell these stories to let you know how his kingdom operates they were called Parables Parable in the Greek is parah and Balo it means to come alongside to throw alongside so Jesus would tell this story but thrown alongside this story is this Kingdom Principle as a matter of fact I love Parables because Parables remind me of our word planted cuz planted within the Parable is this story this principle of his kingdom it was these encrypted messages of the kingdom of God that were planted inside of The Parables and they would penetrate the hearts of people they would Enlighten people they would instruct people but watch this Parables also had a way of telling you the message that you didn't want to hear he had to hide the truth of the message in a parable cuz sometimes times people don't want the truth just like my dog Bruno that I was forced to buy him if I want to give him some medicine they got these little pills that's a little treat and you put you plant the peel inside the little treat and there he is thinking it's a treat not realizing the thing that you need for your sick stomach is within the pill Jesus did this with the stories because he knows that sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow so he has to put that in a story oh that's why I me if you read it when you get to the crib you'll notice that he shifts his tone to Parables Matthew chapter 6 and earlier in the gospels he's telling Doctrine just as plain as day but then he realizes that his truth is being rejected by the Pharisees and the crowds are just showing up for the Miracles so he said okay I got to change my communication style he said I got to put this story in a parable I got to plant it in a parable so I can hit you upside the head with the truth that you don't want to here Jesus wasn't the first to do this he did not invent Parables matter of fact you can go to the Old Testament and find a parable woo can I tell you my favorite one 2 Samuel read it when you get to the crib chapter 12 one of the greatest parables in your Bible by the prophet Nathan right after David remember David that killed Goliath and played the harp remember him the man after God's Own Heart who slid up in bash sheba's DMS remember that remember that committed adultery and then killed Uriah remember that and Nathan did not bust up in the king's Palace and said hey you adulterer you murderer what's wrong with you if he would have done that he would have been buried right next to Uriah look at the wisdom of Nathan his name means gift cuz sometimes God will give you the gift that you don't want but you need and Nathan walks in and says uh King can I tell you a story David's like proceed he says um there was a rich man and a poor man he said this rich man had so many different sheep all kinds of animals and this poor man had one little bitty itty lamb he Paints the picture beautifully he said he loved this lamb the poor man did he said he treated this lamb like it was his daughter he said all of a sudden the rich man's friend comes into town and instead of going and pulling from his vast resources of animals he goes and takes the one little lamb from this poor man kills it and serves his friend lamb chops and David gets off the throne and says what burns with anger he says that man must be killed and Nathan has a pregnant pause and goes David you are that man he said God blessed you he exalted you and put you on the throne he gave you Israel and Judah and if that had been too little he would have given you more how could you commit this evil in the sight of the Lord with Bas Sheba and kill Uriah and that story penetrated the heart of David that's why you have Psalm 51 and the King repented only a story could do that Jesus understood that stories cut to the heart of humanity so in my text today can you imagine being there it's a crowd Jam pack so jam-packed there's not enough land mass for everybody to stand Jesus has to get in a boat and row away in the water and watch this uses the Acoustics of the water to let his words hit the waves and reverberate and hit the people in the back only Jesus said I don't need a microphone I created this water I got my own Amphitheater so I'll just get in the boat and I'll use the boat as a pull pit and I'll let the waves carry the world words of this story into their ears and penetrate their hearts and he tells a story tells a story about a sewer with seed but why is he telling this story he's telling a story about the kingdom every time he publicly preached he was talking about the kingdom of God that's what he preached about the kingdom of God isin't that interesting Jesus never preached on Deliverance he just delivered people come out he didn't preach on healing he just healed people he didn't preach about going to the Cross he just went to the cross the only thing he preached about was the kingdom of God and he did it through a story can you imagine being there that day like for real can you imagine standing on the shore seeing Jesus in the boat and listening to the master Communicator teach how many of you would have loved to be there to hear Jesus preach can I see your hand put your hand down you lying you wouldn't have want to be there you know why because Jesus all he did was tell stories and he did not give any application or explanation of the stories he told y'all this Parable I just told you is one of the rare Parables along with the parable of the wheat and tear where he actually takes time to tell you what the story is about and then he tells it to his disciples he doesn't even tell the mass crowd he would just leave them with the story no application and then just walk away oh not before was saying he who has an ear let him hear and then he just peace out no PowerPoint presentation Oho one day I'm going to preach like Jesus I'm going to preach like Jesus I'm just going to tell a random story and then just leave y'all with the application to figure out by yourself let's do it right now you ready you gonna be glad you came to church today this is what it would have been like to hear Jesus preach y'all ready okay this is what it been like like this okay okay watch it watch this okay actually in that culture uh the orator would actually sit down and you would stand yeah should we try that I'm kidding chillax here's what it been like to hear Jesus preach you ready once upon a time there was a bird that was flying south before the winter but this bird got trapped in a winter storm as it got trapped in the storm ice began to fall on the bird's wings and melted and froze causing the bird and his little bitty Wings to stop Flying and plummet from the sky into an open field the bird sat there shivering encased in ice and thought this is it this is how I'm going out my life is over right at that moment in the field a cow wanders over to the bird stands over it and drops a deposit of manure on top of the bird the bird said H are you serious first I'm going freeze today now I got manure on me oh I can't believe this but all of a sudden the warmth of the manure begin to thaw out the bird's wings and the bird realized that it was going to be able to fly again and as his wings began to get free the bird started chirping with excitement chirp ch chir ch ch ch but the only problem was it chirped so loud that it attract the attention of a cat that was also in the field that scooped up the bird swallowed it and ate it he who has an ear let him here that's what it would have been like to hear can you imagine if I preach like that y' be like all right uh Cracker Barrel where where we going for lunch but can you imagine let's just imagine one of you let's just imagine coach Taylor that you weren't satisfied with that story that everybody else was like ah he missed it today I don't know what he was talking about with that bird and the cow but coach Taylor something on the inside of you could not stop thinking about that story the words kept reverberating in your head and you're like there's no way he would tell us that story without it having a deeper meaning and here you are you can't stop thinking about it you're like surely there's a principle from this story and all of a sudden Coach T starts finding me and searching me out saying I got to find out what in the world is that story about everybody else was satisfied with just going to lunch but he said no there's got to be something deeper there's got to be something encapsulated within that story so you search me out and you find me and you pull me to the side you're like PR I'm glad I found you you got to tell me what about the bird and the Frozen wings and the cow I I got to know surely there's more and I'll look at you seeing the hunger and the desire that you had to know something deeper and I'll tell you coach Taylor there's three lessons you need to learn from that story lesson number one not everybody that drops manure on you is your enemy lesson number two not everybody that pulls you out of manure is your friend [Applause] lesson number three if you ever find yourself in some manure the best thing to do is to keep your mouth shut and not say anything to [Applause] anybody and he be like this is what it was like to be under the ministry of Jesus do you know why the disciples got the Revelation encapsulated within these stories is because they were still in proximity of Jesus to get it see Jesus is showing us the difference between the crowd that just wants a miracle and a disciple that wants the man that does the miracle between the crowd that is satisfied with the surface and between a disciple that says I want to go deeper between the crowd that's going to walk away and their soul will be withered and the disciple that says I want to be planted and the only way I can be planted is to stay connected to you because I know that the words that come out of your mouth are life and I've got to know what is it that you have for me so I'll do whatever it takes to go deeper I'm wonder if there's anybody in this service today that says I'm not the crowd I'm a disciple I realized that God has something more in store for me and I won't find it unless I stay planted next to him W see crowds just are satisfied with the miracle and going home but disciples always go deeper disciples say I know there's something more you know you're a disciple when you are pursuing God when you're chasing after him some things in God have to be pursued you have to do whatever it takes to say I'm going to find you I'm going to seek your presence that's what's been powerful about this 21 days of prayer and fasting yes we're ending it but don't let that stop you from seeking after God from chasing after God these disciples left everything to follow him they left businesses they left jobs the crowd just wanted a miracle the disciples were in proximity to him to get the deeper meaning the hidden truth that was in the story wo Jesus was always making a line of demarcation between the disciples the true disciples and the crowd he has some crazy ways to do it you see how he progressed in the ministry he would start off with like with the disciples come follow me real nice cute messages remember after he fed the fish with the fish and the five blows you remember that and everybody ate you know what happened the next day everybody was like Hey I want to be a disciple we didn't know that you can multiply bread and stuff and he noticed that he had a crowd based off of what he could do and watch how he thinned them out he said uh read when we get to crib John chapter 6 unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you can have nothing to do with me he wasn't talking about physically it was a metaphor but he said it like that just to weed him out and people in the crowd was like oh no fam we can't do cannibalism we out we out no Jesus many John 666 many left that day cuz they were offended by the words that came out of his mouth they just P for the bread and fish but that was the point of offense that said okay I'm out and then he looked at the disciples his disciples provoking them he said do y'all want to leave too and Peter opened up his mouth he said where else are we going to go you carry the words of life in other words I don't understand you but that don't mean I'm going to stop following you I might be offended by you but I'm not going to leave you see why nobody's clapping cuz we have a generation of people who will leave as soon as they get offended and you wonder why you never get into flourishing and fruitfulness but if you'll stay planted and stay connected with God even when you don't understand it even when it doesn't make sense that's how you flourish crowds want the Miracles the disciples were pursuing the man and Jesus often will put you in a position where you can choose to walk away or you can say God I'm going to continue to stay connected to you look at what he told him he says the secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you to who to the ones who are still planted in me not to the crowd they got the deeper meaning it reminds me of Psalm 25:14 I love this verse it says the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him and He will show them his Covenant in other words God says I have some Secret things woo for people who are seeking me in other words I'm selective of what information I give to certain people can you prove it it's in the text nobody else got the revelation of the parable of the soers except the disciples in other words God says I will give you information to the degree that you are interested I don't give it to everybody I want to see your lean in I want to see how much you'll seek seek after it this will happen in your life right now some of you God will position you next to people who are great and you will miss out on the information that they have and the wisdom they have to give you if you don't lean into their wisdom and shut up trying to impress them and ask them for wisdom I have seen this happen so many times I've even done it a couple of times where you get in the presence of somebody that has more wisdom than you somebody that's great and you start acting crazy and start trying to flex in front of them and tell them about you shut up this is a time to learn and to lean in CU God has put you in the proximity of greatness and when you're around greatness you don't need to try to show how great you are learn and see what you can receive for them because you will get information to the degree that you are invested that you're leaned in and so the disciples got Intel information he said I'm gonna break this whole Parable down and let you know exactly what it means you're not going to walk away confused he says uh this kingdom is like a seed a seed somebody say a seed a seed that's interesting because here's what I learned about seeds there is nothing you can plant today and see the fruit tomorrow there is no such thing as a Amazon Prime seed to plan so one of the challenges of our word of the year and this Parable is how do we reconcile a culture that is obsessed with instant and a kingdom that is obsessed with process how in the world do you reconcile our culture with the kingdom culture and the kingdom culture is like agriculture where you plant something that is a seed and you wait for the Harvest we live in instant snaps have you noticed we're culture of snaps boom I want it now even preachers preach about snaps tonight your breakthrough I said tonight your breakthrough give God a shout of praise your debts going to be cancelled tonight for real that's it a shout is going to eradicate my debt in a snap we we are obsessed with snaps and God's like I don't do Ms I do seed not to say that God cannot give you an instantaneous breakthrough but when he gets ready to articulate his kingdom he said this is a kingdom of seed and nobody shouts about seed nobody shouts you about to get fruit 10 years from now give God some praise like no I'm good how about 10 minutes see this is the problem with the kingdom that he's trying to articulate and the culture that we live in today because have you noticed his kingdom is always # Opposite Day come on like you want to gain your life lose it you want to be first be the last you want to be the greatest serve everybody you want to slap your enemy no guess what pray for them bless them that curse you when was the last time you blessed the person that wrote that sideways comment on your page said Lord just let your blessing and favor hit their life I can't see their face cuz they never have their profile picture in it but Lord just let your let your blessing come to them what was the last time God says my kingdom is not a kingdom of snaps it's a kingdom of seed seed seed you ever planted a seed it is the most uneventful not exciting thing in the world ain't that crazy crazy the power and yet the fragility of a seed think about an acorn that can produce a massive oak tree it is powerful but yet it is fragile because I can take that Acorn instead of planting it I can throw it on the concrete I can give it to a squirrel or I can plant it and wait for years and see it become something great and when I plant it it's not like there's fireworks you've never planted a seed and Heard a Voice from Heaven going get ready the oak tree is coming when you plan it nothing happens in that moment but because of that moment everything can change God says this is how my kingdom Works here's the good thing about this story this is one of the few stories that Jesus actually takes time to give you clarity as to what the story means he does not do this with every parable a lot of Parables he leaves us guessing like what in the world who is what who's the who's the farmer who but not this Parable he takes time in the following verses so that you will know with Clarity what everything is in the story and he calls his seed his word the word of God is like a seed and in the same way you can take a seed and you can throw it to the side you can take a seed and you can just eat it or you can plant it and see it become something that's what the word of God is for for your life if the word of God is planted in the right soil how many know you will see a harvest if that seed is taken care of and cultivated he says my word is like seed that's why if you're ever going to grow in God you got to get Beyond just listening to a preacher on Sunday preach the word of God and you got to get the word of God in you it's a seed and it is powerful it is powerful some of you the greatest thing you can do today is get you a Bible reading program or app and just read the date you're like man that's a whole lot in that book but just read 10 to 15 minutes a day and watch how your spirit begins to grow it is a seed that's why aw tells her said anything that keeps me from my Bible is My Enemy No matter how harmless it seems what is he talking about the power of a seed he gives clarity as to what the seed is but he doesn't give clarity as to who the swer is I think that's for two reasons first of all come on Jesus is the swer he SWS seed he's doing it as he's telling the story but I think he doesn't give us clarity as he does in some other stories because how many know we can seow seed did you know you can seow seed you can SE the word of God some of y'all have the worst job atmospheres and you walking in and you f in the atmosphere why don't you come in there with some joy and SE Seeds of Life in the atmosphere of death when everybody's like can't stand this place I can't believe they have us doing this well well at least we got a job y'all you know you can changee atmosphere with the seeds that you s you SE seeds here there's what I'm doing right now I'm sewing seed that's what I'm doing just this that's what preaching is that's actually where we get the word broadcast they would broadcast the seed just Hing it would take root somewhere now here's the difference between when we s and when Jesus SS here's what I love about Jesus and we see it in this Parable because every Parable has something about Grace that just blows your mind what kind of swer takes the time to sew seed in environments that are not fruitful think about it what kind of SE is this that sees storny soil and goes you get seed and SE SE and see soil with rocks in and goes you get seed and see seed on the path hardest concrete you get seed what kind of SE is this this is a sewer that is full of grace this is a sword that wants everybody to come into the kingdom of God I want to take a little praise break and thank God that he is not selective in where he throws the seed that he is not wanting anybody to perish somebody will thank God that no matter the environment God says I'm going throw seed just in case just in case her heart turns I know they're not even paying attention right now they bored with the message but I'm still going to throw sied away believing that somehow that soil will open up and you'll receive this anybody ever been in an environment that you weren't supposed to be in and all of a sudden you got hit with the seed of the word all of a sudden you remember something your Grandmama said and she was praying for you all of a sudden the song on the radio changed and you started worshiping and a place that didn't look like you should have worshiped but it was just the seed it was God in his grace saying I'm not through with you yet I'll do whatever it takes to make sure my children hear the word it's not by accident this is an amazing God who throws seed even in thorny places W God you better than me don't lie you do the same thing too you're like oh I ain't even going to waste my time you ever got one of those friends that's like the fifth man that's not good for her and you said something the first four you're like you know what I ain't going to say nothing about this one I am not throwing my seed of advice yeah he cute but not God he says I'm telling you God speaks while I'm speaking cuz none of that is in my notes that's just for somebody maybe in the watch [Applause] party he throws seed in the Hope hear me that your heart will open up what is he talking about with the soil the only thing that is consistent in the story is the seed the only thing that changes is the soil and yet only one group produces a harvest if the seed is consistent and the seed is the word that means there's nothing wrong with the word has everything to do with the soil so if you say man I man I tried I tried I tried church I tried the Lord man that that stuff don't work I believe you so long as you don't blame the seed if it didn't work the problem is not on the seed it's on the soil and he gives us four types of soil what is he really talking about four hearts that the seed comes to this should be a four-week series let's do the Wikipedia version the first heart is the seed along the path where people trampled on it no moisture I call it the callous heart you ever had a callus their skin there is just so dead it can't feel anything there's some people that have a callous heart callous heart is sermon proof you've heard it all a callous heart is not moved by anything here's the thing you can be living a wild lifestyle and have a callous heart and you can be religious and have a callous heart the Pharisees knew all kinds of scriptures and had a callous heart so whether you righteous or ratchet your heart can still be unmoved by the gospel and the Bible says that when the seed falls on but not in the enemy represented by the bird snatches it up I've seen it happen seen it happen to people in church where the word got on them but it never got in them you think to yourself how can you be in the same environment I was and still be so cold and hard it's cuz their heart is gous you don't feel anything anymore and sometimes it's because your heart has been trampled on by so much in the past Maybe by churches that hurt you but your heart's gotten calloused the next heart it's the shallow heart the shallow this this this heart is interesting cuz it says it falls among the rocky places and it receives the word with joy it Rees and Sprouts up quick you've seen this person oh I'm going be in church every single Sunday this year let's go social oh I want to be in a connect group I'm there oh I'm at every Tuesday night prayer oh I'm excited God's doing something in my life and they're real good and then come may like what you seen so and so how come shallow so there was rocks that didn't allow the word to go deep enough the word went in but it didn't go deep because you weren't able to move past your emotions if you are going to walk with the Lord for a long time you've got to stop being moved by your emotions whether you feel it or [Music] not there's those who are excited at first but because the heart is shallow it doesn't last when they experience persecution when they don't get the job when the thing they were believing for doesn't come to pass they say you know what I'm I'm done because it didn't go deep enough when they get offended ah I'm done with the church shallow heart the next heart is the distracted heart it says that the cares of this world choke the seed the first one it goes on but not in the second one it goes in but doesn't go deep enough this one goes in and before it can Sprout the cares of this world distract it it distracts you it's funny the things that can distract our heart and it becomes divided distraction is the destruction of your dream in slow motion the enemy can stop your focus he can stop you from growing how many you know a focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted genius your power is in your ability to not be distracted by the cares of this world that could be anything some of us is ticktock you did the Holy Ghost two step when it came back shout that your distraction is [Music] back the distracted heart the weeds the cares of life even goes as far as to say the deceitfulness of riches doesn't mean you can't have money but when money has you it's one of the quickest ways to choke out the growth of the word of God and then the final heart is the healthy heart watch this heart the word goes in and goes deep and grows down and then begins to sprout up but here's the part that made me shout and probably made every hearer in that day go what he says this heart that is healthy this heart that receives the word of God it produces a harvest some 30 some 60 some hundredfold now you read that and that didn't move you cuz you aren't a farmer but everybody in that day would have gone what are you talking about because the most you would ever see in soil would be Sevenfold if it was really really good soil maybe tfold but Jesus says when my word gets in you you going to see a harvest 30 some 60 some 100 fold in other words this is not natural this is Supernatural how many are thankful that that's what the word of God does I don't know how it's the mystery of a seed but when a heart is healthy let me help you a heart that has been broken where the soil has been opened up to receive God whatever you have for me I'm not offended I'm not looking at my neighbor I'm looking at me how many you know God will do a supernatural thing in your life when your heart is open somebody in here can testify that your life is proof positive that God can do the Supernatural is there anybody that can say it's not my resume it's not my intellect it is not my friend Circle that got me where I am it's just the supernatural seed of the word of God and when you get a 100 bold only he can get the glory somebody give him some praise in this place today it's supernatural I can't explain it it's not me you want to know how social Dallas looks like this it ain't my preaching It's Supernatural it's the word of God wo the Harvest comes to a healthy heart that has been broken open by the word of God everybody stand in this room in the watch party room how do I know the condition of my heart can I ask you how's your heart how do you know what's the first thing he said when he began the story huh huh how did he end the story he who has in let him how do I know the condition of my heart look at the word heart you want to know your heart what's in the heart of heart check your ear whatever enters your ear will affect your heart what's in your ear CNN Fox News no wonder you going crazy in the comment section it's affecting your what what what's in your ear oh can I go Cooper Clinic yes if I took this ear and took this you ever noticed the shape of the ear if you put them together so God has given us theology through our biology [Music] saying if my word can get in your [Applause] ear you would see a harvest what do you do when you receive the word is the soil of your heart broken every message I have to check my heart what's your heart oh somebody else needs this is that what you heard are you thank God all the rocky places all the thorny places father I give you permission break whatever needs to be broken so that the seed can go deep I'm going to ask every head be bowed and eyes closed today father thank you for your word father I pray that this word today broke open some shallow soil some distracted Hearts father I thank you that you speak with specificity as I spoke in generalities heads are bowed eyes are closed but if you be so honest to say hey PR I know an area in my heart that I need to allow God's word to go deeper let's be honest we can have areas of our heart that are healthy and other areas of our heart that have gotten so hard and we say oh God you can't have this part he wants all of your heart if that's you and you know what that area is today would you just lift up your hand in this room in the watch party room just as a sign to say God I'm I give you permission to break up the Stony places in my heart I want a healthy heart I want to produce the Harvest that is Supernatural that only you can get the glory anybody else lift it up put it right back down head still about eyes are closed if you're here today and you've never surrendered your life to Jesus I want to give you that opportunity today I believe that the word hit somebody's heart today that's been on the run and God is calling you back home maybe you got offended your heart was so shallow you were hurt by somebody that said they were a Believer and they treated you WR wrong and you've projected what they did onto God and you've run away and you feel him calling you back home if that's you today would you just lift up your hand saying I need to give him my life today we say it all the time at Social you can always come home just lift up your hand high enough and long enough to where I can see it in this room in the watch party room thank you God thank you Lord I see that hand can we pray this prayer as one big family today we're all going to say it but especially those of you who responded would you say Jesus Jesus today I Give You My Heart Lord thank you for loving me enough to give your life for me Lord I hear you speaking and I refuse
