[Applause] wo we are back and today we're on the river we're going to catch some crawdads at least we're going to try I have a trap and I have some fishing line as well that I'm planning on just grabbing a branch and making a little rod with it see if I can catch some uh croads with that uh we'll set the Trap right here it's a little shallow here but we'll give it a shot for I don't know half an hour or so and uh we'll see if we can catch them here hopefully we'll be cooking the croads right on the river it's going to be a good one okay Jon's already in the water she's just uh hanging out in there I guess hopefully if we put a um trap out they'll smell the bait and start crawling out but I'm hoping in this area general area right here just kind of a deeper pocket I have this crawfish trap that I've had for a long time time it's works pretty well the zipper broke so I just stitched it with some uh shoelaces and I have couple pieces of squid I don't think crawfish are particularly picky but this is some really good squid I think it'll work well I'll just stuff it in this little bait holder hopefully that attracts him over got some cordage and we'll just tie this up right here there we go and we are ready to go super easy yeah it came with some line already but uh it's too short so I just leave that somewhere else all right we'll let this soak a little bit hey you're scaring away my Crow ads put it right here see how that does okay now I just need something to tie it off to got my bucket there we go so my trap is right here I have a feeling under that rock there there's going to be some crowd ads but the flow is going this way I think all the scent might be you know going that way instead of to that rock I might move it up a touch if that's what doesn't work or maybe I'm just thinking about it too much slit it to its thing oh look like under here might be good too I need a stick a nice long one and I think this one here that's perfect how's this stick I think that'll work it's a little heavy let's look for maybe a lighter stick maybe an ultra light Rod no it's breaking no that'll work ultra light look how wobbly it is sweet got a nice uh heavy one to catch the big craw daddies and got a nice uh thin one to catch the crawl kids oh shoot there's one right there look right there see if I can hit him with my hand right now hold on let me put this my head oh no he's going under and just going to stick my hand in oh he's gone that was fast all right but there's some here got some fishing line can't be about that long that should work okay I got another piece of bait that is a little different than the squid this is some steak fat ooh nice delicious fatty steak so I'll put this right on the hook I don't think they'll be able to resist this boom all right where's that cro dad gone where are they gone I don't see any right now is that one right there oh what's going on I'm thinking right under that rock there's got to be some might need to put some weight on here the beef fat floats too much let me take a look at this trap I think there's anything in there nothing in it or around it I think we'll move down river there's actually a huge one right here oh there's two of them right when we're moving yeah this one is huge I'm going to catch it with the net they're actually coming out now oh my God there's another one that's huge just as big dang it's like a little lobster this thing is huge look at the claws on them holy hell water my gosh this thing is so big the claws are mean there's actually like two or three more that just came out right now too I mean I was just leaving the trap in this calmer water and then they start to come out okay there's one more right here so let's just catch them before we go here we go two big craw dads those are some big craw daddies right there nice huh mey claws I mean that's all I see actually there's no more so we'll we'll move we'll move at least we got two big ones all right we're going to go find a better spot go up that way I think oh before I forget I want to mention this Saturday July 13th I will be at the fisherman's life Street Fair uh it is behind Stonestown Mall in San Francisco plenty of parking free entrance and I'll have a booth there and my booth will say Outdoor Chef life right on the canopy so uh if you're around the area if you're in the bay come on by come say what's up come hang out I'll have some merch some chili crisp and uh we'll have a good time so come through and uh hope to see you there there'll be a lot of vendors there'll be a bunch of food there'll be music and just a whole Community kind of fun event that uh fisherman's life puts on every year so come and support all right guys new spot we're in an area nice and uh nice and calm not as much running water so this spot should be perfect and I actually already see one right in there so that's a good sign I haven't even put the bait in just toss it in there there goes joclyn scaring away all my cads should Rite your floaty I know okay let's try to get one oh my rod my stick rod yeah here and there you have to put it closer to theck uh just right in front of me I see one right there I think I have one bring it little up gently got him there it is I got one on the rod I don't even have a hook on here it's just a piece of piece of squid piece of bait and this is a solid one the claws are not nearly as big but nice solid craw dad you got three yeah nothing in the Trap yet nothing in the Trap yet I don't think they're around they're kind of coming around it oh the other guy was going too oh dang he's you're going to have to get go in and get him every time he comes out of the water it lets go all right let's try again let's try again oh so close there we go we got a big one right here big one that was a bigger one and I lost it just missed the net heing he's taking that he's taking that look at that cheeks he's only holding it with his mouth not with his CLW comes off time for a little cool [Music] down woo nice cool down woo it's nice and cool all right Crow out fishing is a little tricky it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be they keep letting go we got a little one on here let's see if you'll come up little guy little guy got him hey little guy nice trying to get that big one man that Lobster okay we got one on here we got one on let's see try to swing him in hold on to it hold on to it there we go there we go yep he's in yes it's a big one it's a big one it's a big one guys that's a lobster who massive bro this is taking a lot of patience but it's it's good fun I don't know if any of them gone in the Trap they're kind of just on the outside of it all right don't let go don't let go you got to wait till they grab it with their claws like that oh I missed it let go just right before my net still right there I need to wait on this should have brought a split shot ran away I have one a freaking a come back come back for it he's coming back yes yes he's coming back he wants it come on get a tight hold get a tight hold here we go damn it yeah I can't figure out if I should do it fast or slow all we'll do it real slow right now I'm going to leave the Trap soaking and uh what we catch in there we can take home and have later I think first thing we need to do these guys are bit dirty yeah they got like a bunch of stuff underneath their claws I think a toothbrush would work but I got this wire brush just going to scrub his claws clean and scrub his tail clean too don't pinch me don't pinch me there one fat claw yeah I mean that thing is fat that thing is really fat and these are like so actually this is an invasive species here this is called a signal crayfish and they're not native to the area so this episode should actually be a deliciously invasive episode's well to take a bath next oh it's so interesting that they have like tiny claws on their feet too yeah you see those they can't grip too hard with those but pretty cool still just clean you up buddy get all that Gunk off you really aggressive they don't appreciate their spa day come on dude spa day and then they'll go in the hot water yeah gosh by his little antenna a let him go dude Drink Break some garlic ginger corn a few potatoes butter green onion and some other sauces and ingredients got my little pot here little camp Camp pot with the camp stove we'll cook them up right here come on my big old knife going to use this today just need a little piece of Ginger this looks like pineapple okay couple cloves of garlic all right got ginger [Music] garlic turn that heat on pinch of butter some potatoes smells good already make sure there's no sand and I'm going to let that cook oh no look at that nice looking good bit of soy sauce bit of oyster sauce oh you know what I forgot the main ingredient of this dish it is black pepper and uh making basically a my black pepper crab but a crawfish version of it that's going to be so good black pepper crawfish a lot of black pepper yeah you need like a almost a full tablespoon going to add a little bit of athletic Brewing just add the rest of it now everything is boiling it's time to put the croads in chill guys not going without a fight okay thank you so much for your delicious meat thank you for providing they going to die pretty much immediately there and they're in I'm going to Chuck my corn in to top of them there you go I throw the green onion the butt ends into it too get that all mixed in there and let's Chuck the thick parts of the green onion in too oh yeah field that he goes out there pretty often and I've watched his videos for a few years and it's been it's so cool it's such a cool looking place and I've been wanting to go so I want to take you guys the claws of uh crawdads these guys you can definitely eat the claws let's try it we'll break it open dude wow the claws are as big as regular like tail meat of the lob or craw dads give it a dunk in that little that sauce that's a claw dude big piece of cloth the sauce is really good oo D that tastes like tastes like crab tastes like rock crab actually yeah I'm going to crack you a crack you open a claw here yeah black pepper SA should be on everything look at our jig oh wow that's nice that's nice huh the Corn's really good black peppered corn it's got to be good [ __ ] it's too hot yeah put it on here I'll get a green onion though M tender sweet all right we got to try a tail yeah even though they're like um carrus and claws are huge the Tails aren't very big all right oh yeah dained nice nice oh for me try it all right I'm going dip it in more sauce all right I'll just suck head just try little head something dang these are so good o flavor man you're just going to have to go jump in the water again and catch some well hopefully they go into the Trap want a corn I'll take my corn now M perfectly cook it's a very sweet one too yeah sweet and peppery very peppery and buttery that's a mean crawfish boil in the river yeah who else is eating craw dad claws yum yum yum yum guys woo well this was a fun trip sorry I haven't been uploading as regularly but hopefully soon we'll
