Internet, it's me. Hi. And right off rip, brace yourselves. This video is going to be a bumpy ride. I'm not even joking. The morally gray dubiousness of anti-heroes makes the five players I have here interesting picks to say the least. It is exhausting rooting for these people. I spent more time than I would care to admit pondering over this video topic, debating if that time is even needed. After all, it's always about the heroes and the villains, not so much the anti-heroes, is it? And yet, I am still emboldened enough to stitch it all together and present it to you now. So, here we go. The top five best anti-heroes in Big Brother. Best being that they represent what I think an anti-hero in Big Brother constitutes. Anyway, not best at the game, although some are up for debate. Anti-heroes are some of the most dynamic players to watch, as they don't naively fall prey to the usual traps the heroes find themselves in snared in, while also not often losing the favor of the audience like the villains might. Well, some of the villains anyway. Anti-heroes are the players who mean well, but are often flawed in their ways. They're like the heroes we root for, except they do things we raise an eyebrow to, like they'll steal from the rich to feed the poor, but then they'll also kick a puppy if need be. Not sure why they'd need to, but the point is that they often lack common characteristics of the hero. They're more underhanded, sly, questionable in their execution, but still fighting for the greater good. These players also tend to be a protagonist of a season, a main character. For example, like the anti-hero of a narrator that I am, I'm already cheating because this is not a top five, it's a top six, and I am including two for the price of one. I talked a little bit about this in my heroes video. I debated putting Jason from Big Brother 3 on that heroes list, which if you haven't watched it, uh, check it out, but I decided to roll him over to this one instead. Him and Danielle are going into the anti-hero list, being numbers five and six, especially given Lisa is kind of the hero and fits that role quite well on their season. Danielle and Jason are still protagonists who we follow pretty much the entire way, but how they managed to reach the end of the season together is not exactly something everyone will appreciate. Certainly not the jury of Big Brother 3 anyway. Daniel and Jason were ahead of their time with their sneaky secret duo alliance from the jump. They basically divided and conquered the entire house and would convene at certain times to strategize over how they were going to split everyone up and pick them off one by one. Danielle has a countdown that she remarked upon each week after each eviction where she would cross another name off of her kill list. Not the hero of the story, and she kind of has a tragic downfall by the end, which is why I have her at number five and Jason at number six. Danielle gets ahead of herself and is the cause of her own demise by the end when she takes Lisa to the final three over Amy. She gets wrapped up in being a good person to those most loyal to her, but then loses sight of the bigger picture. And just like all of these anti-heroes, they do ultimately mean well. They're not out to hurt anyone. But that doesn't mean people won't get hurt regardless. Metaphorical blood often gets spilled with these players slicing and dicing through the game, as we're definitely about to see. And it starts with the two of the best in Danielle and Jason. My strategy in playing this game is to pick only one person. So, I gave one person my word that I will not turn on them, and that's Jason. No one has a clue. Danielle and Jason are holding holding because we'll play soon. And when we do, they better watch out. If I don't win the 500 G's, I want him to have it. Jason is my boy, and I'm going to make it to the end with him. It allows Danielle to make some partnerships and alliances and it allows me to make some things and to kind of find out what both sides are working on. I'll go over and see what we can do. Okay. I don't see him strategizing to win this game. People think Jason is this gullible head. You are like heaven. Jason playing all them fools. This is a game and there can only be one winner. And as as as harsh and as terrible as it is, you should have used the veto. I'm sorry, but I vote to evict you, Marcelus. Number four is going to be controversial. I've said they are before, and I know the audience of this show enough to know where the common sentiment stands. Heck, I was in the audience when I talked about this player back in the day when they first showed up. From Big Brother 21, it's Jackson. And okay, hold up. You might be wondering, how is he ever able to be called a hero? Well, okay, I'm not saying he's a hero. He's he's an anti-hero. I hear you. But I think Jackson is one of the main protagonist of his season. He is by far the most active in the overarching narrative. And I definitely don't think he is a hero by any stretch of the word. I think Jackson is really flawed, and we saw a lot of those flaws come out on his way to winning the game. Have you watched my video where I talked about the worst moves ever made by winners? Check it out. Guess who's on the thumbnail. He gets himself into trouble at many points this season. But outside of playing the game and playing it pretty hard, too hard even. He doesn't really mean harm. He does harm. He gaslights Holly at times. He intimidates several players. He greatly contributes to his alliance getting blown up. He stomps his boots like a child and seemingly breaks the rules when eating food in secret when he wasn't allowed to. But he's not really villainized on the season. Not in the episodes anyway. And I think because he tries hard to do good, to justify himself, to be friends with everyone and work with as many people as possible, it stands to reason that he is a very flawed guy in execution, but still wants the best for others and wants to play fair as best he can. That is Jackson's moral code, but he is an anti-hero, so he doesn't live up to that code. He doesn't usually follow what he says he's going to do. He will get shifty. He will break rules if need be. He'll justify it later. Ask for forgiveness, not permission. He didn't want to break his word to those that he gave it to up until he was put between a rock and a hard place. His big lie at the final five against Tommy was only after he realized he was getting the raw end of a deal. But he wasn't a hero here. Just someone trying to protect his closest allies and himself. In a way, it is valiant. It's justified. But it's also questionable the lengths he'll go, the limits he'll push, and the sacrifices of relationships he'll discard in the name of getting his way. I think he's a fascinating block of a player. And as we're about to see with the top three, this is just the tip of the iceberg or the watermelon. On day 44, Jack turned his back on me. Cat for a while. Jack blew up my game. You can obviously all know each other. I came here to make moves. I came here to stir the pot. I came here to take deals with whoever I want to. You adapt to your environment. If there's liars in the house, all deals are off. I'll lie to anybody's face at this point. I don't care. It's unfortunate. That's the game of Big Brother that has to be played, but I'm not afraid to play it. I'll do it. There's no confetti for fourth place. The boy wants confetti. At number three for the anti-heroes, we have perhaps the most well-roarked of them all from season 10 and 14, it's Dan Gizling. And really, I am mostly talking about Big Brother 14, but there are times where he gets devious and mischievous on BB10 2. Dan is a curious case where he is the lovable, dashing rogue of a player. You you can't help but be impressed with his ability to manipulate others into doing his bidding. and his bidding is all in the name of advancing his game and really no one else's. More than Jason, Danielle, or Jackson, Dan is always only looking out for number one. And if you fit into that criteria, he'll consider you along the way. He watched Memphis's back on BB10 because he wanted to take Memphis as far as possible. Same with Danielle on season 14. But he was hoping to beat them, not help them. Even if he preaches loyalty and writing it out to the end, the notion is always under the guise of him benefiting more than you. He just doesn't want you to realize that. And especially with season 14, the man was up to his elbows in blood. He says it himself when he spoke to the jury at the final two. He had to pull so many rabbits out of hats, betray so many people's loyalty, blindside so many other players to get to that point, but he was always having a hell of a time doing it. Yeah, circumstances forced his hand, found him in the worst of situations time and again, positions he didn't ask for or want. But that doesn't change his sly wink and a nod to the cameras as he would turn around and say to the audience, "Want to see a trick? Now you want to see me do it again?" But Dan didn't want to watch the world burn. He just was there to play a game, a harmless game that he didn't take personally. As far as he was concerned, he was making moves as fair and square as anyone else could. They all just chose to not make better moves like the heroes they were trying to convince themselves they were. This remorselessness for the casualties that fell to his gameplay is what makes him one of the most deadly, devious, dastardly, and downright dominant anti-heroes the show has ever seen. But it came at a price. His tricks worked well on his first outing. He lied on personal parts of his life to get ahead. So much so that other players didn't even think he was a real person, but instead a production plant. You don't get that kind of reputation for being a hero. And it cost him on his second outing when his wy ways caught up to him in the finale when that jury pulled their only rabbit out of a hat. My name's Dan D an He's my favorite big brother player cuz his gameplay he's so good. He can change your mind. He has like these crazy powers. Time to get dirty. Punch it in. Let's go. Now get out there and go kick their ass. Want to welcome you guys all to my big brother funeral. But in this game, you'll never earn my trust back. You know what you did and in this game you're dead to me. Right now I have a final two deal with Danielle and a final two deal with Ian. The only person standing in my way of the finals is Shane. And this is that shot. So Shane, I'm sorry I have to evict you. I just won this first round of the final HOH because I convinced not one but two people into dumping their chances of winning a half million dollars all for me. Now, the second best anti-hero is a mixed bag, very complex and complicated because they've also played twice, and in one outing, they were a fan favorite, and the other not so much. Dare I say, they probably were more of a villain than anything else. I'm talking about Paul from season 18 and 19, playing backto back. I've said a lot about this guy over the years. He is a mastermind similar to Dan. and he's almost like the Russell Hans of Big Brother, losing in the final two on two straight seasons, let alone by a 5 to4 vote both times. Paul would use dubious tactics to gain control, and he was a lot less refined on his first season, Big Brother 18, when he was an instant underdog from the jump, and watched as their allies got picked off left and right. Paul had to get scrappy to survive, to blend in, and they did. But it was this scrainess that would ultimately be their undoing by the end. He made enemies as often as he made friends, and he lost them as quickly as he gained them. The dynamics of season 18 are quite fluid, and they shifted often. And a large part of that is thanks to Paul and his relationships with players like Corey and Nicole or James and Natalie or Paulie. Paul also had Victor to bounce ideas off of most of the season, but Victor was considered a bit more likable, whereas Paul was more of the Wheeler and dealer, the voice and the mouth, while Victor was the brawn. Paul had the brains and the tactics unlock and they learned the game uh quite quickly. And then we see a return on season 19 after just losing by a single vote. And hey, want to see him do it again? Paul took absolute control of this cast and dictated just about the entire season top to bottom. Outside of maybe like one other player, this is the single most dominant losing game you will ever see. And he did it all meaning well. Similar to Dan, Paul wasn't trying to hurt people. He just wanted to get ahead at any cost. He definitely became more of a villain here. His tactics took a turn for the ruthless, and it wasn't a pretty sight. Whereas Dan was still friendly and cordial and showed respect to his competitors, Paul's tactics often revolved around heavy emotional manipulation to create conflict, to create enemies for his allies. And then he would serve as the arbiter to hatch a scheme to resolve this problem. He is very morally gray, the most thus far, maybe the most of all time. And it's his betrayals of his closest allies that burn him in the end. A tragic anti-hero who does too much for too long and goes too far for some. He's still definitely beloved by a lot of fans, but also despised by a lot of fans, too. Nearly the perfect recipe for an anti-hero, bar perhaps one other player. Paul has his plan to a big Kevin without getting any blood on either me, Paul, or Jason's hands. This all sounds good, but in this game, you can never be too careful. I won't even consider throwing this competition until Kevin's out first. I hope Paul is able to convince Kevin and Alex to drop out of the HOA competition. If they drop, this girl will drop. I literally can't believe that I pulled that off. I pretty much got the one-legged girl to win a foot race. I don't even have to make a joke. Paul came up with an elaborate plan in order to get you out. And I've been in a final three alliance with Chris and Paul for a while now. Jason, if you're seeing this right now, you left me with a bunch of counterfeits. I think that everybody thinks about friendship and Paul is now obsolete. Now he can take the bracelets and pitch them. Take a deep breath. Like to just run straight for like a really long time. Devon's final vote decides it. Congratulations, Nicole. Congratulations, Josh. At number one, I have a player who some are going to have a strong reaction towards being at all considered some kind of hero. Here we go. From Big Brother 8 and technically 13, I am talking about evil Dick Donado. And with a name like evil, you would think that he would be more of a villain, but no. I think Dick is the quintessential anti-hero of Big Brother. The shades of gray this man exudes are all over the place. And it really only helps his anti-heroness that he is playing the game alongside his daughter all season. Heck, both of his seasons, which just makes his antics and uporious calamity all the more conflicting to watch play out. He is banging pots and pans and calling people awful names, but he's fighting to sacrifice his game so his daughter can continue onward. He's taking a bullet for her, falling on his sword. But then he's dumping iced tea on Jen's head and fighting over cigarettes and screaming at the top of his lungs. But then Jen is superficial and shallow and aggroing Danielle and her relationship with Nick. And Eric is legitimately a rat in the game. He's a twist called America's Player and he's being a rat. Dick isn't wrong, but he is loud about being bright. That's the catch with the anti-hero. In the case of Dick, he is the protagonist of the season. He is front and center and he doesn't hide from telling everyone how he feels. He guns for Kale for half the season because she targeted him first trying to get Danielle to turn on him his own daughter on his birthday. Okay, not exactly. There is a constant tugof-war between conflicting emotions when anti-heroes are in the picture, especially on Big Brother 8, where Dick has good intentions within the scope of the game, especially in regards to his own kin, but his execution is often brash, abrasive, and scorching earth. On one hand, he's selfless. On the other, he's cocky. He's not afraid to call it the He stands for what he believes in, but he often doesn't make many friends in the process. If nothing else, Dick is morally complex and very flawed. He engages in questionable actions while still having good intentions, or at least believing he's doing the right thing. And yet, a lot of the audience still rooted for him despite all of his methods, which by the way is part and parcel and exactly how Google defines an anti-hero. It fits Dick to a D. And it's why I think he is the most fitting anti-hero of all anti-heroes in Big Brother. [Music] knew he was lying. After Danielle brought up Eric to me, um, everything clicked. You don't want go there. No, I don't. Why not? No, because it's going to shine a light on you that you don't want to cast. The light's been shined on me and I don't care actions. Do your own actions. Don't stand. So what? So what? I'm man and I stand up and I say what I mean. I stand before you merely as a courtesy flush to the pile of crap who sits next to me. And that would be so funny. And I know it's like a risk or whatever, but I don't. Yeah, it's not. It's not. It's not. By a vote of 4 to two. Dustin, you are evicted from the Big Brother house. Dustin, if you're seeing this, I pulled off the biggest coup in the history of this show. See you. This is like story book, isn't it? If you can't do it, it's okay. [Music] This summer was definitely a stepping stone. So, I definitely see progress in a good way. One step at a time, we're getting closer and closer and closer. And all I can do is hope that um things continue on those lines. And that's it. Those are my top five best Big Brother anti-heroes. So, you remember at the top of the video how I said this would be contentious. Was I wrong? Yeah, I'm with Taylor here. I'm exhausted. Feel free to let me know how wrong I've got it. Let me know what you think about these picks and any others you believe deserve a mention. A big thank you to my patrons for all your dastardly support. Thank you all for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video. Don't forget, you'll always be Judas in my house on your way out. And I will see you in the next one. Once I dawn my devil horns and get to step in like a villain. Do I think Rody is the devil? Ooh, big pause, huh? Am I'm sorry that I called him the devil. Nope. The devil. And honestly, I just want um Danielle uh to say thank you and I love you. Congrats. That's all. It's my boy. If I couldn't win it and if Jason couldn't win it, I'm glad Lisa won it and met 11 wonderful people that I've never came across in my life. What they shared with me, I I'll always carry it with me forever.
