Overview
This session consists of multiple sections (A-F) each focusing on different skills and types of questions. The sections test various listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities.
Section A
- Introduction to the test format.
- Instructions are given to read and repeat sentences.
- Task: Read out sentences from 1 to 13.
Section B
- Task: Listen and repeat sentences after hearing them once.
- Examples of sentences include:
- Labor union strike at the bus depot.
- Inquiry about the team lunch.
- Confirm attendance for an awards ceremony.
- Issues locating a booking ID.
- Request to stop bothering with trivial issues.
- Security check timings.
- Feedback on boring lectures.
- Suggestion to call a technician.
Section C
- Task: Speak on a given topic after a preparation period.
- Example Topic: Describe the scene of a zoo.
- Preparation: 30 seconds to plan, 3 minutes to speak.
- Notes: Can be taken during preparation.
Section D
- Task: Listen to a conversation and answer questions based on it.
- Conversation includes booking a flight to Finland.
- Confusion about dates and flight preferences.
- Customer dissatisfaction with agent's responses.
- Questions:
- Appropriate agent response?
- Customer's mood at end of call?
- Agent's mistakes?
- Reason for rejecting Urban Airways flight?
- Customer's flight preference?
Section E
- Task: Answer multiple choice questions about sentence correctness and vocabulary.
- Questions:
- Correct sentence identification.
- Antonym of "settled."
- Synonym for "courageous."
Section F
- Task: Multiple choice focusing on grammar.
- Questions:
- Correct usage while listening to music.
- Sentence structure correctness.
- Multiple questions on grammar correctness.
Conclusion
- Each section of the test is designed to assess different aspects of language proficiency, including listening, speaking, comprehension, and grammar.
