the wicked when they see their riches when they see the way they live the mansions they occupy their PJs their luxurious cars their designer outfits the kind of g meal they eat executive vacations that they have the best schools that their children go to you become envious of them you know David was like that he said "My spirit was greed when I saw the prosperity of the wicked until he went to the sanctuary and he saw their end." Are you just now let's go to Proverbs 22 1-5 uh we'll find a level playing ground here ready read a good name is to be chosen tell me the truth which one do you prefer let's be honest with ourselves and I remember my late external auditor I told him I said Dup said yes pastor I said on easy lies the head that we ask the cry let's stop this proverb let me wear the crown I'll be thinking about whether it's easy or not easy after I said do but it's not like that okay I won't tell you the rest of the story a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches loving favor rather than silver and gold there's so many who are driven by gold no wonder God ensured that Solomon built a temple that the whole floor was laid with pure gold so people can trample upon it do you know the heavenly Jerusalem street is paved with gold and now that's your driving force the rich and the poor they have this in common what did they have in common the Lord is a maker of them all i'll come back to that a prudent man forsakes evil and hurts himself but the simple pass on and are punished by humility and the fear of the Lord are what is that what can they is this what they teaching your MBA class huh mba how to make money how your business should grow how to have all the stocks in the stock exchange would they tell you this by humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life and sometimes when through that humility you acquire this temprite sets in god forbid that will not be your portion things and snares are in the way of the perverse he guards his soul will be far from them well I love the verse of scripture that says the rich and the poor have this in common the Lord is the maker of them all if I close our Bible study session here today the passages we have read are sufficient to make you see that both the rich and the poor are made by the Lord he made them both but he did not make them so being poor or being rich in life is a matter of choice say that being poor poor or being rich it's a matter of choice not your background men are not limited by their background or the color of their skin they are limited by the size of their hope they are not limited by their agenda okay have a nice day body because elder body did like this i'm ready to say have a nice day to broadize this point let's do a recap of the message we received here last Sunday during the Dominion Partners quarterly seminar if you can recall we read in the introduction to the epistle the epistle to the church in Ephesus that they lived like beggars because of their ignorance though they were very wealthy in Christ may I ask us to read the first line again this morning for the sake of those who are not there ephesians introduction can somebody help me they can't put that on the screen i don't think it's part of their Bible software ephesians introduction we are going to read together like a mass choir let me get to Ephesians i will tell you introduction ready read ephesians is addressed to a group of believers who are rich beyond measure in Jesus Christ yet living as beggars and only because they are ignorant of their wealth how many people are ignorant of their wealth here this morning be honest with me thank you any other person thank you uh Joel of inestimable value your husband is acting like he's wealthy he's pretending i also asked some of our leaders present that they what they thought could be the reason for the sins of God to be so poor after the exchange at Calvary or following the exchange at Calvary let's read that exchange 2 Corinthians chapter 8:9 how can any saint then still be poor that's what this Bible study is about this morning i trust God that will do an accurate diagnosis and we'll be better off in the name of Jesus Christ ready read for you know stop do you know do you know this is the problem you know when you quote Romans 8 is it 28 and we know that all things work together we don't know but we quote "All things work together." Do you know here is it again for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich yet for your sakes he became poor that you through his poverty might become rich what does this exchange at Calvary can you tell me he took our poverty and gave us his riches is that clear in your life in your family in your business we went into Revelation chapter number two and we saw that the first letter was written to this Ephesian church also all kinds of attributes wonderful they hate evil they hate liars they hate imposers they spend their time ensuring that they will not come near them yet they left their first love and then we had to go into the book of Deuteronomy to find out what this first love is you remember do you recall all that and somebody said "But there are saints who have not forsaken their first love and yet they are poor." Pastor what's your explanation for this i like it when I'm confronted with such questions shall we do a thorough diagnosis when I asked the leaders last Sunday Dr every quoted John 8:31-32 as his answer yes i went home this is me as I was reviewing the week on Monday I said "Let me check that scripture very well there there could be something there that is not adding up." So I decided to read the whole passage so that I have context john 8:31-36 his answer is not wrong don't think I'm attacking his answer but I want to get what if he says if the son shall make you free shall be free why are we still in bondage then Jesus said to those Jews who join in the word be responsive then Jesus said to those Jews who are these people unbelievers huh would they attend services where Jesus was teaching then Jesus said to those who believe him if you abide in my word you are my disciples indeed so he's raising the standard from attending fellowship to becoming a disciple right if you abide in my word then you are my disciple and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free now go further this is where you will get what Jesus Christ was hitting and knocking they answered him "We are Abraham's descendants and I've never been bonded to anyone." Liar you are in bondage to Egypt you are in bondage to Syria you are in bondage to Philistines you are in bondage to so many peoples we are Abraham's descendants and have never been in bondage to anyone how can you say you've been made free rome was operating in their land at that time and if anybody does anything against Caesar is treason you remember when they came to Jesus shall we pay tribute to Caesar or not he said why are you trying to tempt me if I say don't pay treasonable felony if I say pay oppression give me the coin whose image and superscription Caesars he said "Then give to Caesar the things that belong to Caesar and give to God the things that belongs to God." How do you know what belongs to Caesar the image of Caesar how do you know what belongs to God the image of God including Caesar jesus answered them "Most assuredly I said to you Abraham." He was talking to Jews who believed in him he answered them most assured I said whoever commits sin is a slave of sin and a slave does not abide in the house forever but his son abides forever therefore if the son makes you free you shall be free this is the this is the rock bottom do you know there are many people in the world even up to now who devotedly devoutly worship serve God pray many times a day they believe that Jesus was sent by God they believe he was a prophet just just mention son they're offended but if you follow me to the desert where Philip encountered the Ethiopian uno the basis of that baptism that day was simply do you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God he said yes I believe Jesus is the son of God he said then here is water i'm asking you today check inside do you truly believe Jesus is the son of God [Applause] no debate no controversy no argument do you truly believe Jesus is the son of God yes sir where is he where is Jesus in heaven does he dwell in you by faith yes sir is he with you at all times yes sir do you have the Holy Spirit inside of you yes sir is he the one giving you direction why then are you poor it simply means it is not that people don't know the truth but they don't obey the truth write this down in capital letters if you care before the truth can set you free you need to recognize which lie is holding you hostage i repeat before the truth can set you free you need to recognize which lie is holding you hostage because when such lies are pointed out in a church setting like this you offended you take offense you are angry i can pastor says I'm poor uh because I don't obey the truth i pay my tithe you are like that Pharisee in the temple i do this the last instruction he gave you did you obey why do you want him to talk to you anymore why is this place so quiet all right consider what Jesus said to Thomas in John 14:5 and 6 let's consider it thomas said to him "Lord we do not know where you are going and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him "I am I cannot hear you i am aware i am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me isn't this clear enough so what do you add to your faith what are the extra biblical devices you have developed and things that you have given to you that you have added to the way i pray today that you'll be on your way to freedom freedom in all aspects of life financial freedom inclusive in the mighty name of Jesus i don't want to go to the two commandments the first one and the second one and this and that i remember I taught you last Sunday because I have about 30 minutes to go that faith walks through love how many of you know without faith is impossible to please God and anything that is done outside of faith is what is sin so anything that is done outside of faith that works through love is sin and sin produces nothing but shortage for all have seen and come short so it doesn't matter how generous you are if it's not based on love if it's based on how you want people to see you is still sin you have no reward you know people do things not because they love they have strings attached such giving cannot librate you this church or you are cold what is the matter okay all right write this down slaves of sin despite their belief in Christ may end up being broke busted and disgusted if sin has dominion over your life if you're not righteousness conscious sin is still holding you bondage no matter how hard you try you still be poor but Jeremiah prayed the prayer of restoration and we'll find similar prayer in the New Testament so we go to Lamentations chapter 5 and see the reason for the burden financial burden that people carry i can never insult the poor because I was one of them god had to rescue me so I'm sympathetic towards them and like to see them liberated completely cuz this is a world of abundance no one should lack anything lamentations 51-21 remember oh Lord what has come upon us look and behold our reproach our inheritance has been turned over to aliens and our houses to foreigners we have become orphans and waves our mothers are like widows that does not mean the husband is dead that could reproduce we pay for the water we drink and our wood comes at a price they pursue at our heels we labor and have no rest can you imagine Jesus said "Come unto me or you that labor and have no." We labor we have no rest how many of you know that when you labor and you have no rest you are walking according to the order of Satan because he goes about seeking a place of rest he finds none we labor and have no rest we have given our hand to the Egyptians and the Assyrians to be satisfied with bread our fathers what is the cause of all this trouble our fathers sinned and are no more but we bear their iniquities servants rule over us there is none to deliver us from their hand we get our bread at the risk of our lives because of the sur in the wilderness our skin is hot as an oven because of the fever of famine they ravished the women in Zion the maidens in the cities of Judah princes were hung up by their hands and elders were not respected young men ground at the millstones boys staggered under loads of wood i almost died 1967 carrying wood that was too heavy for my neck my neck almost broke i collapsed i was buying one shilling and selling for two shillings i wanted to get double the thing i'd forgotten that wood had weight so I bought two shillings to sell for four shillings bang bang bang bang bang boom i collapsed you will find it difficult to believe this the same area where I was buying wood is a place where I built a house of my mother i have a sense of history do you understand me that this place where I collapsed is not the exact place but it was around the area where I collapsed carrying wood God will glorify himself here I'm about doing something any time from now and I sent the picture to my son wrote to me and he wrote to me in the night dad you that once used tomato puri to paint the window of your house see how far the Lord has brought you if you don't break that chain you transmit it to the next generation but it's going to end with you amen lack and poverty will end with you the next generation will start from the ceiling of your accomplishment in the mighty name of Jesus the elders have ceased gathering at the gate and the young men from their music the joy of our heart has ceased our dance has turned into mourning the crown has fallen from our head woe to us for we have sin they blame the fathers before but they now acknowledge their own sin because of this our heart is faint because of these things our eyes grow dim because of Mount Zion which is desolate with foxes walking about on it i love this you oh Lord remain forever your throne from generation to generation why do you forget us forever and forsake us for so long a time turn us back to you and we will be restored renew our days as of old are you with me yes sir turn us back oh Lord and we will be restored and we we will be restored are you standing on your feet today turn us back to you turn us back to you we do not want to carry load we do not want to carry labor labor labor and have nothing to show for it no turn us back to you and we will be restored turn us back to you turn us back to you lord we don't want our faith to be ridiculed for the ungodly to ask us "Where is your God?" Yes and all the prophets from Samuel and those who follow as many as have spoken I've also foretold these days you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with our fathers saying to Abraham "Ah and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed to you first." God having raised up his servant Jesus sent him to bless you he sent him to bless you i can't hear you he sent him to What is that blessing in turning away every one of you from your iniquities the foundation of true blessing is when God turn you away from your iniquities so that there's no conflict of will between your will and God's will in your life today in the name of Jesus you're going to yield your will to God's will if a man wills to do his will he shall understand the doctrine your will is the center of your trouble that's where choices are made in the name of Jesus you choose God's will today and you stop sinning in Jesus mighty name he will turn you away from iniquities from conflict of wills and you will be able to obey God as you should this is the foundation of eternal blessing they will pursue you and overtake you in Jesus mighty name be seated i have a few more minutes in the passage just read you are the sons of Abraham and God entered into that covenant with Abraham for the sake of the Jews talk to me huh when that covenant was cut it was between God and Abraham on behalf of all the nations and the families of the earth do you belong to a family is Nigeria a nation yes are we excluded from the covenant of Abraham uhhuh now let's take this little by little i'm sure you know that Jesus is the real seed of Abraham you know okay galatians 3:15-18 galatians 3:15-18 brethren I speak in the manner of men though it's only a man's covenant yet if it is confirmed no one anols or adds to it now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made it does not say and to seed as of many but as of one and to your seed who is who is that seed i can't hear you we also know that because of the sacrifice of Jesus all believers are now deceived all Galatians 3:26-29 for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ there's neither Jew nor Greek there's neither slave nor free there's neither male nor female for you are all one in who in Christ Jesus and if you are Christ then you are Abraham's seed and his according to the promise where then is disconnect why are some among us very rich and why are so many poor very poor pastor church your silence is is loud any question is Christ the authentic seed of Abraham by his sacrifice are we believers also the seed of Abraham why then are so many rich and why are so many poor We know that the authentic seed Jesus bankrupted himself so that you might become rich do you know that grace do you know that grace how does that grace work because he say we know tell me how does that grace work and you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in that he was rich yet for your sakes he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich how does it work paul the Apostle stated the outworking of that special grace in the Macedonian churches he laid it all out there so that you can see how it works 2 Corinthians chapter 8 verse 1-5 moreover brethren we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia people of Macedonia are part of that church the Christians in Berea are part of that church the Christians in Philippi are that's why they are called Macedonian churches you remember the vision at night come to Macedonian helpers he carried that grace there oh God help me this morning that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality they were poor and yet they were liberal for I bear witness that according to their ability yes and beyond their ability they were freely willing kai that's loaded they were freely I can't hear you i cannot hear you now when the leadership of the church said "We need to get church and we want you to give as much as God enables you to give." If you said chair call the chairs are here hello they were freely willing and see how willing they were imploring us with much urgency that we should receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministry to the saint they were so poor that Paul did not want to take anything from them they were urgently imploring him don't rob us not only as we had hoped but they first gave themselves to the Lord and then to us by the will of God can you see the outline here that there are those who are poor and yet liberal and there are those who are rich and yet stingy this church was in deep poverty but when they saw Paul they knew he brought grace there was grace in his life you will see Philippians and he said "You are all partakers of my grace." How did Paul receive this grace how did he receive this grace on the road to Damascus huh jesus knocked him down and raised him up and put that grace in him uh-uh uh-uh uh-uh that grace will take you through process are you listening yes sir and when you are going through that process is when where when many of you shoot yourself in the foot Corinthians chapter 6 i will explain two or three things and I'll close because I can't get to the on time anointing for the end time yet until we clear this mess do you understand me we then as workers together with him that's Christ if you read chapter 5 he said we ambassadors so he's addressing ambassadors who are sent forward to represent him we then as workers together with him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain for he says "In an acceptable time I have heard you and in the day of salvation I have helped you behold tomorrow next year in three months time behold now is the accepted time behold now is the day of salvation the moment you get born again and spiritfilled God will take you through process so that grace will function in your life exactly the way he did in Christ okay well that we give no offense in anything that our ministry may not be blamed but in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God in much yes next one next one uh uh the carrier of grace in needs in distresses in stripes in imprisonments in tumors in labors in sleeplessness in fastings by purity by knowledge by longsuffering by kindness by the Holy Spirit by sincere love faith works through love by sincere love by the word of truth by the power of God by the arm of righteousness on the right hand and on the left by honor and dishonor how many of you know this is my middle name by honor and dishonor by evil report and good report as deceiverous and yet true as unknown yet we're known as dying and behold we live as chasened and yet not killed as sorrowful yet always rejoicing as poor yet isn't that what Christ did you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in that he was rich yet for your sakes he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich why do you think God took me from where I was emptied me brought me to zero level poor grace in me to be able to minister it to people when I was going through going through that process it looked like hell as sorrowful yet always rejoicing as poor yet making many rich as having nothing and yet possessing all things can I come here for 2 minutes huh when that grace is about to be poured in your life your first reality is process is process god will take you through process because that will determine your progress in life and then when you pass the test of process he releases grace unto you not necessarily for you it will now thrust you into a people that are ignorant that do not know they are left from their right many of them already offended by sh practices in the churches they were coming from where there's no financial transparency and integrity and therefore they would lock up everything when they will go through that process for grace to be poured into them so that they can become a blessing to other people who connect to that grace do you understand yes sir so they will be sorrowful and yet rejoicing they'll be poor they will make others rich do you know how many houses by member of this church that I went to bless and commission when I was a tenant huh did I complain no did I complain or was there a day you took an offering that pastor but you didn't realize it was grace so you would think it's your connection and when God wants to make you a carrier of that grace it will take you also through process it will crush you and then feel you i know when you crash landed I know that time that everything disappeared did God not restore that's process let me explain this as sorrowful but always rejoicing as poor yet making many rich as having nothing yet possessing all things shall I take two minutes to explain it yes sir that two minutes may eat into your break i will try to keep it for 2 minutes are you ready yes sir how many of you know that you are happy when life is good huh yes sir you're not talking to me how many of you know that you are happy when life is good but you don't know that life is better when others are happy because of you you're still at the level of good because life is good so you are happy when life is better when others are happy because of you that's what it means sorrowful yet always rejoicing because you are seeing your sons grow they're in strategic places hh when this man inherited a bankrupt bank how much was the debt 66 billion 66 billion red his wife called me from Canada i said I will pray i went into prayer and God said to me "Where my bank a bank to watch and a bank to beat."
