Creating Infographics with Venngage

hey everyone and welcome to Venn gage I'm Midori a designer here at Ben gage and I'm gonna give you a crash course on creating your first infographic with our tool when you first log in you'll find yourself on the templates page your first step is to choose a template that will work for your project we've got a wide range of templates for everything from infographics presentations and reports to posters newsletters cards and social media graphics you can browse through the recommended templates to see a selection of templates tailored to your tastes you can browse through feature templates to see some of our favorites you can browse by category if you know exactly what type of template you're looking for or you can even search for something specific let's get started with one of our beginner templates just click create to start editing we're now in the infographic editor which has a toolbar at the top a number of widgets on the left and a few basic document settings at the top right if you ever run into any problems remember that you can use this chat box to connect with our support team instantly you're going to want to edit the template to add your own content it's as simple as clicking to edit your text and highlighting to change the font size style and color of your text template comes with pre-made swatches to make your life easier just click a swatch to change the color of your text if you want to pick your own colors you can use the color wheel at the top but let's just stick to the swatches for now you can select and delete any elements you don't want you can even click and drag to select multiple elements at once you may notice that when you try and select some elements a red bounding box will appear and the lock symbol at the top will light up this means you've selected a locked element so you can't move it around or change its size we can unlock it by clicking that lock button then make whatever changes we want with our header looking pretty good let's move on to the body of the infographic let's quickly update the rest of our text and now we can add some new icons to match up with their section headings if we expand the icon section on the left we can access over 20,000 icons organized into a number of categories like animals arrows and logos basic icons like shapes and lines are conveniently located here at the top or we can use the search function to find exactly what we're looking for to add an icon that you like just click and drag it into place just like with our text we can change the color of our icons to match our color scheme we can also resize it freely so let's size it to fit inside our circle and then Center it if you ever want to save an icon to use later in another template just click this heart this saves it to your favorites which are always available in your editor here removing the icon from your favorites is as simple as clicking the heart again if you prefer to use images instead of icons we also have a fully searchable image library same was with icons just click and drag to add an image and again we can resize Center and even crop our image if you have your own image you'd like to use our upload function allows you to drag and drop your own images into the editor to round out our design let's change the background color to something a little bit more exciting we're almost done since we deleted that third section we've got some extra space at the bottom of the page let's fix that by changing our page size use the drop-down to choose any of the standard page sizes or use the width and height boxes to make a custom size now that we've got the right page size let's click and drag to select all of our elements and resize everything to fit our new page that's all there is to it we can preview our finished infographic in a separate window and publish it to get a link that we can send to our friends or colleagues or we can use this code to embed our infographic and a web page that's it for this quick tutorial if we've missed anything or if you have any questions leave comments below and we'll answer them in our next video
