so what we're going to look at next is the remainder of the actual skeleton apart from the skull so this little bone here which is found kind of underneath our jaw this little bone here is called the hyoid you can see its size and raw relation to my hand there the hyoid bone looks like a a little jaw that has some fangs on it right there so a little horseshoe with some fangs and that is the hyoid bone going down the middle of our sternum middle of our breastbone here is our sternum so this whole entire bone here is our sternum and it is made up of three parts so you see a little separation right there the upper part is called the maneuvering so that is the manubrium the middle portion here is called the body and the bottom part is called the zygoprocess so the whole bone is the sternum the upper part is in the new rib the middle portion is the body and then the bottom part is called the xiphoid process and this part right here all these things sticking off the side are the cost of cartilage so this is cartilage that connects the sternum to the ribs so that's what the costal cartilage is and that's what costa means is ribs next here are the ribs so this is a rib here so you can see ribs are kind of flat here in person
